• Problem with the Excel add-in-TDM

  Hi-

  I used the ExcelTDM snap-in on other machines w / no problem, but I tried downloading it on a new computer (w / office 2003, Vista) & the icons do not appear in excel.

  I tried to follow the instructions on this page: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/5874

  I am stuck at step #3 b/c the ExcelTDM.dll file isn't the case on the computer.  Is it possible that the add-in is not download correctly?  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in twice now, with the same results.

  We want to confirm that you get the latest installer from the web download of the first http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2944 .

  Then, you will notice at the bottom of the download page there is a trick:

  After installing the TDM Excel Add-In in Microsoft Vista , you need start Microsoft Excel at least once by using administrator privileges.

  So if you use the Add-In in Vista, you can disable the UAC (User Account Control), or right-click on Excel.exe and "run as Administrator" for the first time.

• Strange error in worksheet Excel add

  I write and read an Excel with Labview. The code does exactly what I want, but after reading the excel file I get an unknown error in the "Excel add sheet" VI (from report generation tool). There are only 2 inputs and 2 outputs on this VI and I can't understand why this error is popping up.

  As you can see that the error occurs in the VI because it is not present the probe to 28. To read the excel file, I use the VI "Excel get Worksheet" and "Excel Get Data" as of the report generation tool.

  I want to be able to write in the excel file after reading it because I want to check the data inside Labview by measures. I hope someone can help me with this problem.

  At first glance, nothing seems to be wrong in the code. The error could be the cause of something that goes under this code section is executed (as if the report is closed). You said you read the Excel file, but this part is not displayed in your photo. Given that you use the local variable to pass the object of report a race condition may also be possible.

• TDMS Excel Add-in does not limit new line Excel 2007 support

  First stop, I want to say that format TDM/PTM is really useful. It allows you to perform all sorts of things that would be a real pain if you've tried to do with spreadsheets, delimited by tabs. You can format data in spreadsheets excel for analysis with separate tabs and the names of channel on the columns and the whole nine yards. You can even throw error messages in the properties that appear on the first tab.

  The problem occurs when the user works with very large files. Excel 2003 and earlier versions of Excel have limits of 65 536 rows by 256 columns. Until the latest version of the Excel Add-in, CT if you tried to import files in addition to this he would lift an error and does not create any file at all. It is important now to a file and that you specify the index, which is so much better.

  Excel 2007 supports 1 048 576 lines by 16 384 columns! This is really useful. But the current version of the TDM Excel Add-In does not support the limit of the new line. Is there a way we can get a version of this for 2007 that supports the new limits of the line? It would be cool if the add-in could automatically detect the version and to modify the limits of import accordingly but it is perhaps too much. Has anyone else experience these problems?

  My client would like to file long record time at 200 Hz throughout the day. Lines of data per file is 720 000. Yes, that's a lot, but excel takes care of everything. The importer TDMS impossible. Of course there are workarounds and we will have to use one if a new version of the Add - in Excel TDM will not soon made. Y at - it a new version coming soon? Please say Yes.

  Mystery solved. Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the add-in, do the same thing on a computer to co-workers and to come with the same limited import I scratch my head a bit. It turns out that my network administrators put all suites MS Office in the entire company to operate in 'compatibility' default Mode, so they would save default 2003 versions. When Excel is running in compatibility mode and the user tries to import large tdms, the behavior I described occurs.

  looked for messages and updates (no notifications).

  Are you sure that it has not been installed before? Under the control panel... Programs and features... National Instruments software... make a 'Change/Remove' and look to the bottom of the list for "NI TDM Excel Add - In verX.XX. If found, uninstall and re - run the installer for the latest version.

  11.1.2.2 is supported but not beyond.  I wouldn't start a new user with it, unless they are already familiar.

  If you look on edelivery.oracle.com there is a file in the EMP 11.1.2.2 media pack called "EPM System Release 11.1.2.2.0 Client installers for Microsoft Windows.

  If you need absolutely only the add-in that you might be able to save bandwidth and take support, where the 11.1.2.2.106 patch there separately.

• Smart View "Free-Form" vs Excel Add-In

  The following recovery of Sample.Basic is valid in Excel Add-In:

  I can't find any way to stop what is happening.  The context is to convert legacy Add - in reports.  Users want to change the layout at all, so avoidable.

  It's actually very interesting. Older versions of the Add-in would not put anything in cell A1.   When you download the files for delivery, what are all the files needed to install the Excel add only. I need the easiest way to install. Users are on Win 7 64 bit with Office 2010 32-bit. If I remember correctly I have to download a bunch of files, unzip them into a directory of the race of the 'installtool.cmd '? Or y at - it simpler as a .exe installation as in the past? If I do the decompression of an installtool.cmd, I want the minimum number of files to download to install it successfully.

  Mady, I hope that you were not trying to open the supplements directly from Windows. The XLL Essbase XLA work in Excel like Add-Ins, and not as executable files. When I double-clicked the XLL and XLA, I got the Microsoft Security warning, which I assume is what you were doing wrong. You can also google Excel add-ins on the way to handle it if you don't know what to do. It is very simple.

  When I connect firstly in my ASO application via the excel add-in, the first thing I see is a null value. My first dimension/column is 'period '. Period is marked as a dynamic calc and label only.

  If "Period" is marked as 'Label only' it will take the value of her first child, if the first child has a value of #Missing, then "Period" also will display a value of #Missing. If you want to 'Period' to show all the periods (as Sample.Basic does) then you need to take off the "Label" label only

• Excel add-in - install Windows 7 11.1.2.1

  I downloaded all the files (32-bit) zip of delivery. I run the installtool.cmd script. I proceed to check products Essbase Client and API client Essbase as those are the only thing I want. Just trying to get the Excel Add In for Office 2010. It progresses through the installation.
  
  However when I launch Excel and try and go to the .xla and .xll files (I think those are there), I can't find them anywhere. I'm looking in the directory:
  
  C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient-32\bin
  
  Then I have my hard drive for *.xla and *.xll of research and can't find anything.
  
  I also added by Tim Tow blog Environment Variables.
  
  I don't know what I'm missing.
  
  Any help?

  I installed customer 11.1.2 Essbase and Spreadsheet Add-Ins 11.1.2 successfully.
  
  After that, I opened MS Excel 2007.
  
  I can able to display the add-ins tab.
  
  Then I tried to connect to Excel with essbase through the next step
  
  -> Add-ins-> Essbase-> connect
  
  I get no popup window inorder to enter the admin username and password. I'm on 64-bit Windows server 2008 and by using MS Excel 2007 32-bit.
  
  Both the s/w have been installed by using the administrator account that the Addin is active and not disabled in Excel Options. I read the related issues and proposed resolutions triggered on this before, but nothing helped.
  
  Can someone let me know anything that I'm missing that could be the cause.

  You cannot use the add-in classic spreadsheet (Excel) if that's what you are referring.

  As indicated in the other post, it works through Smart View.
