Existing systems

Due to my other computer crashing (exhaustion of motherboard), I need to install on my laptop with Vista systems. Can I partition the disk and copy the system and programs from the old hard drive in the partitioned part of the hard disk laptop?

You can not simply to repartition the drive without losting information that it contained.  You need reduce the current volume, and then use the unallocated space that is created to the new partition.  Here's how: http://techblissonline.com/vista-partition-drive-disk-volume/.  Make sure that there is enough space made available by shrinking to meet your needs, or there is no interest in doing.

If you really want to create separate partitions of the size you want, you will need to do a clean re-installation of Vista and to deal with the partition during the installation configuration (you must first backup your data, but you will lose all your programs, settings, updates, and nothing else but you the data you need to back up somewhere outside the car).  Then you can reinstall Vista on a disk (I suppose the drive C :) and another OS on the other partition after Vista has finished installing - but if you wish to dual-boot, you need to make other changes as well as explained below.

If you want to dual-boot systems, you may have problems under the old system, you're talking about.  Here is some information on the implementation of a dual-boot system: http://windows.microsoft.com/it-IT/windows-vista/Set-up-a-dual-boot-system-from-Windows-Vista-Inside-Out.  Here is some information on how to configure the boot if necessary optiions: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Advanced-Boot-Architecture-Management-in-Windows-Vista-53414.shtml.

I hope this helps.  What you want to do won't be easy and it will probably a lot of effort, if possible even depending on the operating system that you are talking about (which is).  I would try to avoid doiing this if there is no other way to accomplish your goals.  Why do you need to install this system?

Good luck!

  • Duplicate copy of the existing system caused emails

    Hello

I would use the VSM API to automate certain tasks.  We use so integrated security to use the API I need to create a new system that is a copy of an existing system. However it resulted in double sending emails and had to be removed. How to create a copy of an existing system of the MSM to have duplicate emails are not sent?

    Thank you

You can disable polling for a particular system (for example the second system used for the API) by creating the registry key on your server:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EMC\Ionix Service Manager\System2]

    'PollingDisabled' = '1 '.

Keep in mind that the path of the registry for 64-bit systems is slightly different:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EMC\Ionix Service Manager\System2]

  • Setup could not create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition

After the removal of ubuntu, I decided to reinstall windows 7. To my surprise even after formatting the drive to NTFS, I get the following error when you try to install, "Setup was unable to create a new partition system or locate an existing partition in the system."

I would appreciate it if explain you how to fix this, rather than post links.

Use the Creation Wizard to Partition (free version): http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html

First create a bootable CD: http://www.partitionwizard.com/partition-wizard-bootable-cd.html

Boot from the CD and Partition Wizard to delete all existing partitions and rebuild the Master Boot Record (MBR).

Then using partition Wizard create a 350 MB NTFS partition, mark it as a 'System' and 'active '.

Then, create a partition for Windows 7.

Boot from the Windows 7 installation media, and when asked where you want to install Windows select the partition that you created for Windows using the Assistant Creation of Partition.

    Hello

R & D work on implementing a fix for this bug. In the meantime, here is a workaround:

If you write the correct IP address and write the host name and the comment, then your backup will be successful. We realize that this is not a very pretty or intuitive solution, but it should work until a fix is implemented.

  • System update

I have a program for a job that requires windows xp service pack 1. I'm building a new computer for this seat. can I buy and install 1 or 2 more seats a new XP OS.

Your "programme of work" almost certainly said it "requires Windows XP Service Pack 1" because it was published before the release of XP SP 2.

I suggest that you either contact the Publisher of this program and ask if it can run on a newer version of Windows or just try to install it on an existing system.  If you have Windows 7 Professional, you can install (for free) of "Windows XP Mode" which will certainly be able to support your program.  Microsoft XP Mode provided specifically to account for its business customers who do not want to switch from XP to Windows 7 when Windows 7 was introduced.

The answer to your question, however, is that it is highly unlikely that you will find copies infringement of Windows XP - any service pack level - for sale.  The retail Windows XP ended on June 30, 2008.

  • Error loading operating system message is displayed after the partial installation of Windows XP

Hello all, I was doing a clean install of Windows XP from the CD on my desktop PC.  I had reached the point where I had deleted the existing system partition and created a new system partition and had begun to load data from system to system on the CD when I accidentally stop the surge protector, shutting off the power to the computer, the screen of the monitor, etc.  After that I restored power, I turned on the PC without the XP installation CD in the CD/DVD drive.  The system posted successfully and start the CD line appeared IMMEDIATELY followed by the message "error loading operating system" on a new line.  I tried to start with the installation of XP in the drive disc, as well as with the "Ultimate Boot CD" in the player - the "Error loading operating system" message appeared in both cases.  Thanks for any help you can provide!

The desktop PC has had a full legal work Windows XP with SP3, but I chose to reinstall from scratch, because I had problems with corrupted data in the Zone Alarm and card ATI graphics card software that caused random outages, lead to situations of re - start.  I couldn't fix the files for these 2 applications that I had this desktop PC in stock for more than 18 months and I couldn't remember the administrator password I had used.

Once more, these error messages tell me you dΘmarrez the hard disk and no CD-ROM drive.  The message "NTLDR is missing" is read the boot sector, on most of the installations of Windows, the boot sector is usually the absolute sector 63 on the disc, using DiskProbe you will see the text of the message to the given sector.

Your drive is perhaps at fault... or it may be absolutely nothing wrong with it!  You may need to press a key to boot from the CD, often you see a message like «Press any key to boot from CD...» "or some thing in this sense, maybe you're not a touch and the BIOS ignores the boot from CD-ROM and goes to the next boot device (hard drive).

  • What are the requirements to load Windows 7 DSP on an existing PC

    Hi people,

I have an existing PC on which I wish to install Windows 7 OS DSP/OEM.

What is the minimum requirement of the material that I need to upgrade to remain legally compliant?

Some retailers to group the DSP version with a hard drive or a mouse. Is that enough to comply with the requirements of the permit in the DSP/OEM OS?

I would have thought that the requirement would be a new motherboard at least.

Anyone who can shed some light on the obligation to legally charge the DSP/OEM OS on a PC of exisitng?

    Thank you

It would seem that I am not clear.

I know that the hardware requirements to run Windows 7.

The contract of specific DSP/OEM that this version can not be used to upgrade the operating system to an existing PC.

Do I have to replace my existing system while it is considered a new PC and I can then legally load a DSP/OEM operating system.

I don't know how to put it any clearer than that.

    As with any OEM license:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades with the exception of the upgrade to an different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    Hello

1 re-installing/repairing software will not fix hardware issues.

    2. the operating system upgrade is not the way to solve computer problems that can be carried forward.

3 1. If you use Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using System Restore.
