Sorry, I don't understand the statement "I'm running out of space in.
my Windows fonts folder. "No file in Windows has a fixed size.
Files automatically expand or contract if necessary to make it
files you put in there. Just add more fonts and the file will grow as
necessary to accommodate them.

  • How to disable the "Fonts" folder in Windows Explorer?

    Hi all

I have a problem to deactivate the fonts folder in Windows Explorer.
    My question:
How to turn off or do not display "Fonts" in Windows Explorer my computer tab?

I think it is unnecessary because it already exists in the Control Panel folder.

If anyone can solve this, thanks in advance.

Windows customizes the Fonts folder and offers a special folder view that allows you to hide variations, such as bold and italics. It also allows you to change the display settings of the file in a way that is specific to fonts. If you remove the read-only attributes and the Fonts folder system, these custom display settings not available. For folders that you have customized by using the tab, Customize dialog box Properties of the folder, the folder icon and other other customizations may be missing when you remove the read-only attribute.

    Sign of salvation,

Welcome to the Microsoft community forum. From the description of the problem, it seems that you want to change the font size for the user interface modern app.

You can change the modern user interface text size by going to the charms > settings > change the settings of the PC > PC and peripherals > display

    Also see this Microsoft article:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/make-text-screen-larger-smaller/?v=t

Windows 8.1, you can now set the DPI (Dots per Inch) scale to make text and other items, such as icons, fonts and windows, to more or less important for all display or by display screens.

Windows 8.1 DPI scale improvements are mainly focused on:

    • Optimization of ergonomics and the readability of displays high-resolution
    • Offering an experience uniform multi-screen systems
    • Give developers optimize app specific scale based on display DPI

If you are using a resolution of 1366 x 768 display on a shelf, chances are that UI will look good 100% ppp settings. But what about when you connect the tablet to an external high resolution? In Windows 8, you can choose either 100% in order to optimize the user interface on the screen of the tablet or display up to 150% in order to optimize the user interface on the outside. You have to make compromises.

8.1 Windows takes care of this issue pressing address scaling of IPR by display . By default, Windows 8.1 will choose the optimal DPI scaling value for each display based on the value selected for the global scaling in the control panel.

  • I can't open the fonts folder in Control Panel.

When I double click on the folder icon fonts in the Control Panel window, it will not open. It freezes and becomes inadmissible. Then I click on cancel X at the top right of the window and he said: there was an error and must be closed. The whole desktop disappears and then reappears. What is going on? And how can I install my fonts?

    Hello Sparkybell1734, welcome.

1 how long this issue has been produced?
    2. what level of Service Pack of Windows XP you are using? SP1, SP2, SP3?
In addition, try this to see if it solves the problem:
    1. click on START
    2. click on 'run '.
3 type C:\Windows\System32\dllcache and press enter
    4 checks if fontext.dll . If it does, get a folder C:\Windows\System32
5 find the fontext.dll in this folder and delete it
    6. restart your PC and try to open the applet in the control panel fonts
    ---
If it does not, as another method of installation of the fonts, you can always copy and paste the font file in C:\Windows\System32\Fonts

  • Need to know where in the system folder of Windows Vista, I can access the printer for a shared printer drivers .inf files

I have a printer that is attached to my system down Dell Windows XP, I want to access the floor running Windows Vista from my Sony system.  I managed networked the printer so I can see it in my Sony Windows Vista network folder.  However, when I try to access it, it gives me the following error msg:

The server to the printer 'HP Photosmart 1215 series' doesn't have the installed printer driver.  If you want to find the right driver, click OK

Otherwise, click Cancel and contact your network administrator or the original equipment for the printer driver manuafacturer.

I advanced and clicked on "OK". and the system brings up a box for me to find the correct INF file to load.  I went ahead and tried the DRIVERS/WINDOWS/INF and a few other places, but has failed to find (any) of printer drivers

Can someone tell me where I can get these?

Download the appropriate driver from the printer manufacturer's web site.  If it contains a Setup program, run the program and when it asks you to specify the printer installation, create a local printer whose name is \\xpsystem\printer where 'xpsystem' is the charing system printer and "printer" is the name of the share.  This should create the printer.

You can also expand the downloaded driver and try to add the printer as you did before, direct the installation to the folder containing the driver that you downloaded.

  • In Windows 7, selecting "Automatically expand to current folder" in Windows Explorer, it does not work

In Explorer windows (win7... new laptop...?) activating the box "Automatically expand to current folder" does not work. I went through tons of forums and no one can answer this recurrent problem.

If I navigate through the folders in the left pane using the arrow keys: the right pane should follow! and display the contents of the folder.

What is the difference with the guys who claim that this box, it's employment and tons of guys for whom this box makes no difference at all including me?

Please provide a solution! Many of us will enjoy!

OK, so now that I've been messing around with this problem its as magically started working for the first time (within 6 months) on my personal laptop...

I think I know what fixed it. I remember toggling the 'automatically expand to current folder' option in right mouse click an empty link in the navigation pane (it was already placed on). When I did it first, it did not work. I remember deselection and then selecting once again, and it still doesn't work. I went back to folder options and (this is where it gets fuzzy) I think I've deselected and not selected again from there, still no luck.

So I opened the registry to verify automatically expand them to current folder key is set to 1. It was so I let fall, don't make any changes to the registry. I posted the above comment and left my PC, still running, no reset.

9 hours later I come home and hey presto all his work.

    Go figure.

Now that his work, using the Folder Options box still does not work with it all - either to the value on or off. Using a right-click in the browser window works, but the effect is not immediate. We need to change at least a folder selection (double click on a folder) in the file list pane before the change takes effect.

I'll test this fix some information on other portable dozens that have this problem and present the results here.

  • Increase the font size of windows Dreamweaver (not the code mode)

I can't find a solution to this and hope someone can help.  I need to expand my vision of the DW on my screen.  Not the code view, I found that.  Everything else - all windows (file list, assets, snippets, css... all these windows development.  It's much too small for me.  Any help would be appreciated!  Looks like an easy thing, but I can't.  Thank you!

Looks like you are using a high DPI monitor?

With the exception of Windows 8, DW is not "High DPI aware" yet. Adobe knows about the issue and is working.

Meanwhile, the workaround is to increase the size of the fonts in your system.

How can I change the default import folder back to 'Pictures' Autoplay when importing photos using Windows Vista import?

If your Options to AutoPlay in Control Panel, Autoplay, devices, (your camera that there are listed) are defined to import pictures using Windows on the menu drop-down, then when you plug your camera you will get a low popup to the right of your screen.

Click on Options, you will get an another popup that you can change the destination folder.
