  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca: upgrade memory RAM - HP ENVY 15 Notebook

    Hi all!

Last weekend, I upgraded the RAM in my laptop HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca.

The machine has 1 module of 8 GB by factory, so I bought another module of 8 GB (same brand and same rate).

But the problem is that the machine does not recognize this second module, neither in the BIOS nor so

    I am running Windows company 10 x 64.

The weird part is that I downloaded the CPU-Z, and this software recognizes the two modules.

    Any idea?

Here is the image of the CPU - Z software (where memories are recognized)

See tensions? You've mixed low-voltage and voltage regular memory. They can be the same machine and the speed, but they are not the same tension. This will cause problems as you see. The computer is designed to work the DDR3L memory (1.35 volts). When you correspond to the modules, you really need to match modules. Can you confirm part numbers printed on both modules and the specifications on the labels?

    Hello

I tried to increase my video memory in the BiOS but I can't seem to figure out how do it or if it is still possible. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, it is currently set at 128 MB and it's pretty useless for most games now adays. I read somewhere that games will run better if increase you it.

When I do scans on my computer that the compatibility of games, video dedicated is always the only issue.

  • Want to m6 1310sa: how to change the graphics memory on HP Envy laptops

    Hello

I have a HP Envy 1310sa m6, it has an AMD APU of A10 - 5750M with AMD Radeon 8650 G which is 'supposed' dedicated graphics processor. The reason for the quotes is the lack of this gpu provides game performance. I looked online and a majority of the websites say it is truly integrated.

My question is, if it integrated or dedicated I would like to know if it is possible to increase the memory shared/dedicated.

    Thank you for the support,

    Hi @1101001011,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY Notebook m6-1310sa and questions or concerns, with graphics memory upgrade. Your system is AMD Radeon HD 8650 G / 7670M bi - GPU (2 GB dedicated DDR3 memory) tweaking the system will cause problems and I do not recommend this.

Look into this further I suggest upgrading the memory on the system. You can upgrade to the memory locations 2 16 GB taking the memory card of 8 GB. Here is a link to your service manual page 28.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Add memory to HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st - free space for the locations of memory behind the radiator.

    Hello

I ordered a HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st with 16 GB of memory and is to be delivered Friday. My question is how much clearance is here to the sticks of memory in the slots behind the radiator and the radiator has to be removed for adding memory to these two locations. Will it take low memory footprint, or is there room for mem sticks with heat sinks. It won't be here until next week, if just trying to plan ahead.

    Thank you

    Bryan

    Gateb, welcome to the forum.

I can't find any warnings about any of your concerns in the specs of HP.  However, having said that, I suggest wait you receive the computer to make purchases.  HP isn't necessarily embracing third-party updates.  Memory performance with heat sinks can be very important, as you know, or you have asked the question.  Better safe than sorry.  Just my $. 02.

Moreover, it is a great computer.

  • Problem of expansion memory on Satellite Pro 4270

    Hello

I have a Pro Satellite 4700 and two memory modules:
    1 Samsung CL2 SODIMM 144 pin 128 MB PC100-222-620
    2 NEC 144 pin SODIMM PC100-222-620 128 MB

Each of these modules work fine separately.
When I put the two to reach 256 of ram, the system does not boot Windows XP - simply indicates that this driver pci.sys is missing/corrupted. Repair with the XP Setup disk hangs at the end.

Is there any good advice or similar experience (I noticed that there is an upgrade of the BIOS to 4270 - that is the key)?

    Kind regards

  • HP Envy Touchscreen M7-J120dx: more memory for HP Envy Touchscreen m7-j120dx

I bought the laptop from Best Buy last year:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c04094897

I'm trying to understand if the 8 GB of memory that came from the factory in the laptop is 2 separate 4GB memory modules or a single module of memory 8 GB?

Then I think to upgrade the memory for a total of 16 GB of RAM, which is the maximum. the amount of RAM that is permitted to add to this laptop.

I see conflicting information. online as to exactly which modules of memory, I would need for the M7-J120dx.  I'm assuming I current have (see previous question in this post) 2 modules of individual memory of 4 GB each in there, and if so, that would mean needing to buy 2 individual 8 GB memory strips each.

All anyone can provide the specifications are greatly appreciated.

    Hello

8GB means usually, 2 x 4 GB memory sticks.  You can remove the service panel to check.

Edit: I was able to confirm that your device has 2 x 4 GB sticks.  You can buy sticks of 2 x 8 GB maximum memory on your computer.

Please take a look at the Maintenance and service guide:

  • Add memory to HP ENVY 700-210xt 1.35v or 1.5V?

I intend to add a second module of 8 GB of RAM, and see that the module is already installed by HP is a Hynix CL11 1.35v module.

This motherboard supported 1.35v, or it delivers 1.5V independently?  So it is worth trying to find 1.35v RAM to match the existing RAM?   Which will help performance if the jury is really keep the tension?

My understanding is that if I add a second module and it is 1.5V, then the memory will operate at 1.5V.  Probably not an issue since I don't plan to overclock the CPU.   But just check

    Thnaks for any advice.

If the module of memory installed is a Hynix CL11 1.35v module, then you will need to find an absolutely identical memory module to update. Otherwise, you take a risk of your PC does not start after the POST (power on self test). If the MESSAGE fails while the PC does not start in Windows. Upgrade memory by matching the card can only be a financial bet.

If you are unable to find an identical memory module, then remove the installed module and install a pair of guaranteed compatible memory modules.  It is the only way to update without problem. Use of well-known brands such as Kingston, Crucial, Corsair.  Memory of well-known brand manufacturers guarantee that their modules will work as long as you use the memory configuration utilities to identify what will work in your PC.

    Hello

I want to upgrade my memory of 16 GB of RAM. Can someone tell me what is compatible with my laptop? A specific question: 204 pins or 240? Product suggestions would be great. Thank you very much.

    Hello

It uses the RAM sticks of 204 pins. Please use the page #5 of the following book:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03591281.PDF

The manual also shows you how add/replace the RAM (from page 56). For compatible RAM, please use the following tool and see SPD tab. It will show you RAM specs and manufacturer.

    http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/CPU-z/CPU-z_1.72.1-en.exe

or you can use the manufacturer on the above (page 56) manual buy RAM.

  • problems of expansion memory e250 v.1

Hi I have a sansa e250 v.1.  My memory card is not working.  What I do need to update firmware or do something special other that synchronize it on software (such as winamp or wmp)?

I bought a sandisk 2 gb micro sd card.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

    Steve

You need to put the device in MSC mode to drag-and - drop files on the memory card. You can just throw on anywhere.

WMP (in MTP mode) don't like the cards for reasons related to DRM, Digital Rights Muck.  Then all your playlists or synched music will be in the internal memory, and keep extra stuff (or things that you look outside playlists) on the map.

  • Expand the 15-j122ea envy TouchSmart HP RAM

    Hello

I'm about to buy TouchSmart from HP Envy 15 - j122ea with 4 GB of RAM and 2 locations accessible by the user. So I have a few questions:

-What is a maximum value of RAM that I can add?

-What type of memory of the laptop fits?

-Will be the expansion memory have a negative effect on performance?

I'd appreciate the help. Thank you.

    No something which has 1.5V - DDR3

The one suits your model is low-voltage-DDR3L 1.35v

    And here's one: http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/WW-USSMBPublicStore-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductUUID=3yIQ7EN5rEQAAAE.blk5fPmq&CatalogCategoryID=tYsQ7EN5rY8AAAEuQsh2Y5aW

Just make sure that the RAM specs say Non - ECC, Unbuffered too when buying in stores online.
Get the brand those who, as Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, Hynix etc.

    Thank you

  • Upgrade memory M50 satellite problems

    Hello

I just tried to add 516 MB in my expansion memory slot, but the extra memory has not been recognized. Notepad starts fine, but only shows 465 MB of available space.

I tried to change the original and new memory cards, and either card in a slot (0 or 1) on their own works as a 516 (which turned the cards and the two slots are working), but together they always show as only in use.

Someone at - it ideas on what could be the problem and how to make so that he can use them together?
    Thank you

The 465 MB is normal, because of the shared video memory. If I understand you correctly, the two connected modules, show only 512 MB?
Perhaps you need to perform a BIOS update. Could help. You can find an update to the emea support & download page.

The two modules comply with the necessary specifications? They should be PC2700 DDR - RAM.
