Export a catalog of laptop-> USB key... several subfolders handling

I have a catalog on my laptop with a bunch of subfolders, like this:

TRAVEL PHOTOS

1 - London

2 - Paris

3 - Madrid

... a * group * of these!

I am trying to export the catalog and move all the. Cr2 files on a USB key in order to merge it with another catalog and archive it on my main PC.   However, whenever I export, the catalog on the USB drive still made reference to all on the first hard disk image files, so I have a small exclamation mark errors in metadata on the thumbnails when I open the catalogue exported on HomePC.

Lightroom's smart enough.  If I show where ONE of the images are, he finds OTHER IMAGES * in the same folder *.    It's great... but this does not solve my problem completely because there are like 18 subfolders.   I really don't have to do 18 times.

THE QUESTION: Is it possible I can move/export entire * subtree * without having to learn Lightroom 18 times where each subdirectory is?

Thank you!

PS - I have NOT checked 'export negative files' because I assumed this will create DNG... and I'd rather just keep the CR2s and XMPs I already have with subfolders that I already have. (maybe I use this wrong?)

It is exactly what you need to do.

It won't move the RAW files, it copy to the target, USB in your case.

It would be something that you must send to or contact technical support for Microsoft Windows. This isn't a related problem of hp.

  • Got a new computer and can not copy the catalog on my USB key.

I have a new Dell laptop and have downloaded Lightroom to my new computer. I tried my backup from my old computer catalog and he said: "the process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I already tried to delete the lrcat.lock file as Adobe said to do and it did not work. I have no idea what to do! Help, please!

Close LR. Open Windows Explorer (Windows File Manager), or on the link for computer workstation work, Documents, or any other link that will open the Windows File Manager.

Copy the LR catalog file which is normally located in a subfolder of your user account on the USB drive. Then copy it to your new computer, place it in the same WAY as it comes. You must also copy all your image files or if they are all on a disk external drive connect this external drive to your new computer. If all your images are on your internal drive and then when you copy them on they must also reside in the same WAY that they were on your old computer.

  • LR catalog on a dedicated USB key and on separate HARD drives of the photo

I have Photoshop for PS6 until CS5 but am new to Lightroom 5.3 which I bought a license because of my camera Fuji X-Pro1 does not not in Camera Raw, level CS5.

I watched movies tutorial (very good) Julieanne and I must say that my initial dislike of the catalog system has changed. In fact: I love and find a huge advantage, not in the last place because it will force finally organize me my photos. So I want to start a really good catalog from the start method.

As you can install it with a single license Lightroom on a primary computer and a portable computer (same owner and used for travel) I've been musing on the following points:

If I install a vacuum om a 16 GB USB key dedicated to the catalog and begin to organize my photos on an external HARD drive (I have a SSD in my self-assembled pc) from within lightroom and add news via a smaller HARD drive external travel
I guess it could be the easier implementation for laptop and home computer. The Lightroom Catalog stick and the travel RFP will work very well with the laptop, and within LR, back home, I could easily move my new photos from the hard drive trip to grand.

In the eye of expert-users, would be the disadvantages?
I hope I have made myself clear...

Erik, it's where you think wrong. Just, you can import your files/folders on site and arrange them how you want. What's different, is that now do you this in and with Lightroom, organization rather than the operating system. You can adapt and or change the structure/organization at any time for each new type you can come up with.

    ErikHeyninck wrote:

It is also a valid point and something I'm musing all since my last entry. The problem with the LR is that with any other application, you can install it and start working, but LR wants that first know you exactly how you organize your files. You can just start using it. In fact, you * can * but then you miss the power of organizing capacity.

Welcome to the HP Forums! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

Thank you for posting. I read your post and I understand that when you create the recovery media, it stopped and gave you the message of the one copy can be made. I wanted to help with that.

Due to licensing restrictions, you can create one HP a computer recovery solution. This message appears when the recovery media has already been created. If you bought a previously used computer or store but the computer was already open, then recovery media has probably been created before you bought the computer and this message is normal. If the computer is less than a few years, then you will probably be able to get a HP recovery solution. There might be a fee according to the status of the security of the computer, the country / region the computer was purchased, and the condition that generated the message. I get startup repair screen when I try to boot my laptop Dell Inspiron windows 7, I run the scan and detects any errors. So, I tried to use a USB repair for a laptop Dell Latitude Windows 7 pro and I still can't the computer to start. Tried to restore to the factory settings, can not. I have no image, backups, all missing, restore points?

After that I tried to launch the USB repair I got 0x400110020000100A error code and I received error (0x8007027E) indicating the device will not start without a reboot.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not computer illiterate, but am not pro either. Just use them not program them or even understand all languages!

Dell Inspiron laptop about 4-5 years.

    Running windows 7 Home Edition.

Does not start little matter what I tried.

If I remember correctly, I looked in MS-DOS mode and noticed that it said something like "x: win...» "that seemed strange to me because I thought that it should say"c: victory... "but as I said I am not a computer wiz so if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

I'm about to rip the hair off my head with my laptop. My latitude was blue planned, surprisingly I fixed it (don't ask how, you couldn't tell). Then my dell inspiron would not start right after my dell latitude fell out of my truck and landed on the sidewalk, wanted to kill the person, the screen is broken. I can use it but it is very difficult, see a mosquito net and not perfectly clear, works well. lol someone knows somewhere or that would install a new screen for a reasonable price? I live in the Boston area.

    Hello

Thank you for the update on the issue. I appreciate your time and effort in resolving this issue.

You can try the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

You can use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot and repair the following items in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    • A master boot record (MBR)
    • A boot sector
    • A Boot Configuration data (BCD) store

Note: When you are troubleshooting startup issues by using the Windows RE, you should first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If the Startup Repair option does not resolve the problem, or if you must troubleshoot more steps manually, use the Bootrec.exe

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

If the problem persists, proceed to method 2.

    Method 2:

    Please follow these steps:

    1. Tool command prompt open in the mode of the Windows recovery environment .
    2. You will see X:\Sources
    3. Type chkdsk c:\ at the flashing prompt to launch the utility Chkdsk. replace c:\ with the letter of the drive that you want to run the Chkdsk utility. If the hard drive is d:\, then type that instead.
    4. After the "chkdsk c:\. "insert \f command to fix errors on the disk volume or the \r to recover bad sectors and then press ENTER.
    5. Restart the computer once the chkdsk command has completed.

Note: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive, it attempts to repair this sector, if all available on which data may be lost.

  • For some reason, none of my 3 USB keys on my laptop recognize any connection. Help, please.

It is a follow-up question. My external drives appear in the section work stations. I can access them by along w / the files on it. It's a question that when I'm going to try to send items to readers (all 3 ports) do not recognize that there is a link there. Then, when I click right on and down to ' send to ' drives external hard for these ports (3) none of them don't introduce yourself here indicating that there is a drive attached to it. Therefore, I'm unable to send files to / them. Any port I use at this time.
Is there a place in my computer, where I have a check to see if I have inadvertently disabled?

It is a supplementary question that I asked yesterday. Involving essentially the same thing. Then I asked how to send files to my external as disc it does not see the the "send to" when right-clicking. I received a reply and it worked. But it is simply to create a shortcut for the command in the file send to.

Since I have now come to realize that this is a problem w / all my readers and it's true, create shortcuts for each reader, that I finally hang up the USB hubs will work, it's kind of just put a bandage on the main issue. Problem being, why aren't my grateful USB keys when there is something related to them.

They have worked in the past. And the only way that they recognize that everything is connected to them is now for me to create a shortcut in the folder send to. Once again, the problem is with Ports USB works not as it should.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

  • Satellite M40-237: CD Boot does not not + is possible startup USB key drive

    * Model: Satellite M40-237 (PSM40E) *.

I decided to reinstall windows, my hard drive is now formatted. So as usual, boot from the Windows CD is necessary to start the instalation but it does not start. I never had problems like this, always worked boot. It's as if there is no bootable CD in the drive (but it is bootable and it works on another PC).

-J' have the latest version of the BIOS
-The BIOS detects the optical drive and everything is ok, HARD is the ODD main drive is secondary
-J' tried selecting the boot priority, with F12 and/or the BIOS setting but it works anyway

What could be the problem here? Drive does not properly (hopefully, that and not something worse)? I had some problems with the drive I have (...) before, but it reads the disc normally and as I said start was working fine before. I cleaned the lens a bit, disconnected it and it put. Is there something more, what can I do?

I'll try to find someone who has the player that fits so I can try with that one, but who knows when is what will be.

Now, here's the second question, which I've linked to this. Because my laptop is practically useless now (I can't install anything), is it possible to boot from a:
    (a) optical drive USB external
    (b) USB flash drive

BIOS on this laptop has no USB boot option, it has HARD drive / CD / floppy / network. But I red somewhere this FDD = USB legacy emulation is enabled.

If that is correct, I should just plug in the USB key and select FDD as boot option? If I can't find a USB optical drive, I thought make it bootable USB flash drive and copy the installation of windows xp on it. So once it starts in DOS I start just the installer from the key.

    TNX

First I must say that the initialization of memory flash USB (USB key) is not possible and you shouldn't t waste time to try this.

With regard to your reader of CD/DVD boot problem
Well, it s really strange, it sounds a bit like a sort of master/slave/c-salt settings problem. But generally, you should get an error IDE (#0 or #1) if one of the devices (ODD or HARD disk) would not be recognized?  :|
    This whole thing seems mysteriously
There may be a firmware issue

Several months ago a friend of mine was not able to boot from the CD.
He went into the BIOS and set the BIOS default settings.
    This has contributed to

This is a suggestion, but I'm really putting t know if it helps.

  • Lenovo B590 won't usb key boot

I just bought this laptop and it came with windows preinstalled 8, and I'm trying to install Windows 7 on it.

I have a bootable usb key, which I've used several times to install Windows on my other laptops, but the just B590 won't. I feel I have tried everything. I changed boot priority in the BIOS with USB HDD as number 1, but it always starts just in windows 8.

I tried to delete everything except the boot order USB devices, and now I get this start menu:
    http://i.imgur.com/1iV2iaW.jpg

Which is exactly what I want to boot from, but when I press ENTER to boot the USB device, nothing happens. It's incredibly frustrating.

The USB device IS bootable with a primary partition. I used these steps to make it bootable in DISKPART:
    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/234.how-to-deploy-Windows-7-from-a-USB-Dr...

After having no luck on the B590, I tried to boot from the USB stick on another computer and it works perfectly fine. Start the installation of windows 7. This suggests that the problem is not with my USB.

I even tried to restore the USB and use Lenovo generator Bootable application to make the bootable usb key, with the same result.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Hypotaksen,

Thank you for using the Community Forums of Lenovo!

    BIOS backwards

    Under the Startup tab

    Change Boot mode in legacy

    USB boot must be enabled

    Under Security

    Secure Boot should be disabled

In case the above options are grayed out in your BIOS, got to the tab out and change OS optimized defaults to other OS

    and look at the options.

Once all are set be sure to save all changed by pressing F10 and enter for Yes

After Hitting enter it restart and you have to keep tapping F12

This should make the Start Menu that lets you choose where to start. You should now have your USB optional.

    Let me know your results

Follow these methods and check if that helps.

    Method 1.

Plug these devices one by one and run the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if that helps.

To open the convenience store follow the given link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

I don't want to charge my laptop I already use Firefox. I need to know how to download on a USB key that I can load and then in the other laptop.

You can download a complete installer from this page (scroll down to his preferred language):

I suggest to download hard disk and then copying to the USB flash drive in Windows Explorer (you can click on the folder icon on the right side of the download for the file list to open a window for her). That way Firefox will try to access the flash player in the future as your last used download location.
