Export of forms/paths from Illustrator to Photoshop

Since the update to the latest versions of Illustrator/Photoshop I'm more able to export shapes composed of illustrator to then edit in photoshop. No matter what I tried, they are always rasterised. There a solution for the export of several forms/paths in a document rather than sticking their rear or before one at a time?

It works when you do this.

    Hello

I have a task that I often repeat, and I know that there should be a way to write a script for the same photoshop thing. But my level of technology in scripts is zero and I was hoping that someone could help me?

Background: I am an artist and convert image Posterization files paths to feed a laser CNC cutter. The image is broken down into separate layers (which are glued on paper), and each layer is converted to describe paths (which needs to be cut by the machine). for each image that I do there are about 3-8 paths that I create, each the name of a particular name. Then I manually export each path one to an illustrator file (export > traces to Illustrator), the files are named with a prefix_ < the path name >.

Sometimes one large image is made upwards of 25 small sections (each section is a separate photoshop file) each with 3-8 paths and it's all of them adds up to a lot of manual work each time.

is it possible to write a script that will export each individual path from phtoshop file to an illustrator file separated with the name prefix_ < path name > in a given directory (or on the desktop if that is too complicated a foler)?

I searched the web but have not found a result that meets this particular need. And as I mentioned my knowledge scripts is not good enough to create/change myself.

    Thanks in advance...

    Avinash,

I think Photoshop is not the best tool for your job. I would use Adobe Illustrator,

Vectorization or Trace of Image (since CS6).

The vectorization of a raster image is entirely under control many parameters. Export to EPS

shows in blocks of text like this file:

    991.532 1.85205 MB
    993.008 1.61035 992,592 3.26025 992,643 4.44482 cv
    991.515 4.21387 990,75 3.62207 990,791 2.22217 cv
    991.221 2.28271 991,45 2.14063 991.532 1.85205 cv
    CP
    . 031373.65098.501961 0 CMYK
    EF

    MO = moveto

    CV = curveto (Bezier curve)

    CP = closepath

    CMYK color =

    EF = eofill (fill mode)

    Occasionally, for straight lines:

    Li = lineto

Ignoring the color and fill mode, it should be 'simple' extract the Bézier path information.

Why is it necessary to separate all these paths in single files?

Laser cutting can be controlled for all the work in a stream, because button

and closepath do not correspond to the "move without cutting" and "end of cut this way.

Of course I am lack of knowledge of your actual task. Please consider my contribution

as a suggestion for an alternative.

  • Can I transfer a custom made patterns from Illustrator to Photoshop?

    Hi all

I created a custom made model in solid black in Illustrator and want to use it as a form defined in Photoshop, I can do this?

First, create the pattern in Illustrator and save it as a sample of the model. Apply the model to a certain squares of size at your convenience, expand it, and then flatten transparency copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop as an object path / smart.

From there, you can set it as a pattern in Photoshop.

  • I'm updating photoshop today and when I drag an object from illustrator to photoshop, the object doesn't turn into a dynamic object why?

Update photoshop today and when I drag an object from illustrator to photoshop object market not turning into a smart object why?

OK - think I have this sorted out now.

When you copy and paste an Illustrator file in Photoshop, you get the dialog box PASTE.

You can paste as smart object, Pixels, path and shape layer. In the past, you would select depending on what you want (in my case for most Smart Object) and viola - you have your dynamic object. However, in the newly revised version, there is a checkbox in low called "Add to my current library" If this box is checked, it becomes a library file that displays with a 'cloud' icon in the layer. If you uncheck the 'Add to my current library' it won't matter as a regular smart object.

  • PDF files from illustrator into photoshop

every time I open a pdf that I have saved from illustrator into photoshop appears all pixelated. but open it in acrobat or anythin else she opens wide. It is all vector based drawings should therefore all be n crunchy sweetness. ideas of Ant on how to remedy this situation?

Photoshop is a program focused on the pixels with some vector capabilities, but when you open (actually imports) a file pdf or placed as a smart object in Photoshop the result is naturally pixels.

  • Drag the vectors from Illustrator to Photoshop does not. No responses, please help!

I asked this question already with no help or answers, after the most recent update app for cc photoshop and illustrator, I am more able to drag an object or text in illustrator and place it in a photoshop document as I have for 20 years. There is obviously a glitch somewhere as the 'place' pointer appears in photoshop it's going to work, but then nothing happening, no new layer, no object. This is a very useful option, and I can't keep saving objects to having to open in photoshop instead, takes too long, the pain in the ass. Anyone else having issues? Answers or solutions?

    Hi jadyng,

Could you please copy text from Illustrator and paste it into Photoshop and uncheck the option 'add to library '.

    Kind regards

  • Drag and drop from Illustrator to Photoshop not working only not with the last update... Any ideas that can do about it?

For example, I have a file of newspaper advertising open (as in Illustrator) .ai and I want to use the logo from here and place it in a .psd file (banner that I do in Photoshop). Before that I selected just Illustrator logo/layer and drag droped to Photoshop. This logo would be recognized as a smart object in Photoshop. Now, this is not possible. I'm working on Windows 10 x 64 and this problem occurred with the last update of Photoshop.

    Hi kristijan_st,

Please see the article below relates to the last update for Photoshop.

This article is not directly editable in Photoshop...

Let us know if that helps.

  • Copy and paste from illustrator to photoshop

    Hello.

You used to be able to slect tricks in photoshop and copy illustrator, create new from the Clipboard and create a document at a resolution that never, over the largest wreck was the image.

Now when you do this the image are set to 72 dpi by default, and nothing do you solves this problem for copy/paste is ultra low resolution.

Is there any solution for this?

I found a solution.  In each version before the CC versions, you can copy an Illustration of Illustrator (Ctrl + C) for Photoshop (Ctrl + N, Ctrl-V, input) with a nearly lossless image quality.  Since CC came, it no longer works.  The quality of the image in Photoshop is really unacceptable.

Today, I figured out how to get things to normal.  There are just a few simple steps.

In Photoshop CC (and this step may or may not be necessary for you) Edit > Preferences > units & rulers, change new Document Preset resolutions, screen resolution of 300 Pixels/inch.  This makes the new default value of documents at 300 dpi.

Then (and I think that the most important) when you create your new file to paste your Illustrator file in, (for example, Ctrl + N), change the Type of Document in the drop-down list of the Clipboard to the default size of Photoshop.  In my case, who reads the 7 x 5 inches and 300 dpi.  You need to establish your new size of smaller or larger image for all to adapt, but, you will get a really strong and clear image quality when you paste your Illustrator file into the new document.

    Hope that helps.

  • Animation paths from Illustrator problem

I need a text to an animation of a font of thin script to another heavier script font, but the words remain the same. I built on my departure layout fonts & ending in artificial intelligence and convert the text to paths. For each character, I copied data path to HAVE a solid in AE, but during playback, the summits will lead in the wrong direction, essentially reversing each way. I posted a picture below.

-J' "put the first Summit" for the start and end

-J' tried 'setting of the first Summit' on a different position on the path

-J' tried to reverse the path in artificial intelligence

-J' tried mask interpolation, including all 3 of the match methods, "use 1:1 vertex matches" and "first game vertex.

-J' thought that perhaps forms were too complex and broken every character in several basic forms. I posted an example of a bottom

-J' I made sure each character has the same number of vertices

What I'm doing wrong here? Is there a way to map the peaks beyond it is first? Or somehow reverse the order? The reverse order in illustrator button does not seem to translate into AE. I am running CS5. Thanks in advance for any help.

    vertex.jpg

OK, followed: the Vertex order is reversed between the masks and AE doesn't read the reverse order of the IA button, at least in CS5. I found a script that will reverse the order:

    http://aescripts.com/reversemaskpath/

Works like a charm now. This would be a great feature to include in the next version of AE, if you listen to Adobe.

  • dimensions in pixels from illustrator into photoshop

    Hello forumers.

IM sticking an eclipse which is 200 x 200pixels in photoshop. When I click on the transformation command in photoshop, I don't get a pixel dimension as in illustrator, rather than a % percantage.so if I adapt the eclipse upward or down, how do I know the pixel dimensions?

    tank you.

    save-for-adobe.jpg

When the glue inpto Photoshop Illustrator, this does not use pixels. I guess you can simulate that, but make sure your document is 72 dpi and not for example 300 dpi.

the Info palette menu flyout > Panel options > change to pixels

CMD click your layer to get market of ants around your selection.

  • Drag / drop objects from Illustrator to Photoshop (CC)

I am drag objects to HAVE PS, it would be placed as an image (pixels) and not as smart objects, what happened? He has worked on CS5. Are there specific parameters for this?

I need to copy (in artificial intelligence) and place as smart object (in PS) to achieve this goal.

    Hi Danang Soetopo,

Yes, indeed, engineering works already about it, we are able to reproduce the problem on our end, but not on all machines, some of them, as if now you can use the workflow mentioned in the link above.

  • Impossible to export to photoshop from illustrator.

I have very specific instructions on how I need to this design exported from illustrator to photoshop.

I need to the image is 20 x 20, 300 dpi +, NO anti-aliasing, with layers written. I did this without doubt on a 1000 times before and have never once fell on this problem before.

I've been chatting to support with Adobe and Apple, and had NO help for my problem.

I tried different files, so I know it is not specific to the file.

I've tried different computers, so I know it's not computer specific.

It must be a problem with the ADOBE software. Whenever I try to export files (with several layers, on Board 1 art) I get the message "not exportable to .psd."

This has been very frustrating and is basically forcing me to miss a deadline. I must say that I am very reluctant to continue paying a monthly fee for the software that works halfway. Whenever there is an update that is something is wrong with the software.

Before the last update, I was able to export this file to 600 dpi with no anti-aliasing No. PROBLEM. So, what gives?

Anyone know any workarounds, patches, solutions?

It is possible that you have one or more of the things that are a problem in the file, you will need to check each object to see if one or more things are the cause. First turn off the visibility of every object in your file, and then activate the low object and to export of .psd. If the export works correctly, then make the visible object and export again. Rinse repeat until you have touched something that causes the problem.

  • Copy and paste multiple objects in Illustrator to Photoshop in the form of multiple layers

I am working on an application and will stick in hundreds of groups from Illustrator to Photoshop.

Is there a way I could select all in my Illustrator file and when I paste it into Photoshop it sticks each object as its own layer (I need it to stay Smart Objects).

Here is a picture of what I'm working on: http://i.imgur.com/bSn7Qew.png

Each number is a group of several objects and I'd love to be able to copy all and paste into Photoshop as 100 layers rather copy and paste each number one by one.

In Illustrator make each unique in a compound shape. (use the menu in the pathfinder for this Panel.

Then export a PSD in Illustrator using editable character maximum. The forms will then form layers in Photoshop.
