Exporting keyword sets

Is it possible to export keyword for a computer games and import them into Lightroom on another?

Jens,

If I understand you correctly, you are looking for a transfer of the fixedkeword and not the keywords found in the list.

The keyword sets are stored in the LR presets folder (on Windows it comes to '%appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Keyword games'. You can copy them to a computer in the same folder on another computer.

Another solution would be to choose "Store Presets with Catalog", but this has implications more far away (see here).

Metadata > export keywords on one machine

Metadata > import keywords on the other

Will share the key words in their entiretly.

If you want to share just the 'sets', they can be copied from one Machine to the other. Depending on what platform and the operating system, are you sure they are in different locations:

  • Export a set of Collection

    Hello

I created a collection located in one of my Lightroom catalog that includes a series of smart collections and sets embedded collection it contains.  I use this in my work flow to improve productivity. Photo shoot I normally put a complete in my collection folder of workflow that can filter through the different smart collections I have geotagged, starry, developed them, until I find myself with a series of images processed. All images are deleted in the end workflow ready for the next photo shoot.

What I would do, it's all a set collection of all my smart collection shipped to allow me to use the workflow on the different catalogs to export. I don't want to move the photos just collections.

Is it possible that I can do this? I found methods to 'export smart collection settings', but nothing for a full game.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Collection sets can be exported in a conventional sense of the term.

At present, consider creating a catalogue of model.

Make a copy using the file system of the OS of your Lightroom catalog that you want to emulate.

Rename this copy to Template.LRCAT and store it in a safe.

Catalogue of Template.lrcat open in Lightroom

    Delete all images.

Clean keywords or collections that you don't need.

Then, when you create a new catalog, copy the template to a new location, rename it, open it in Lightroom and use it with all your collections, sets and tags intact.

  • Export keywords in Lightroom 5 problem

I recently converted Lightroom 4 to 5.  I just noticed that not all of my keywords are exported to my jpeg file.  For example, I have the following keywords in Lightroom; Horizontal, landscape, national forest, Scenic.  My exported jpeg only has the keyword landscape.

In the library Module, when I click on the drop down keywords and select "Will Export", I see that the keyword of the landscape.  I don't know what this 'feature' is all about.  Can someone explain it to me.  I need to be able to export all keywords.

This problem seems to be consistent and I have a test set up file so I can repeat the problem.  Only certain keywords are not exported.

I believe that the method to change things in the world is to export the key words in a text file and then using a text editor to remove the flag so they export not keyword, then re - import the text keyword in LR.

As I'm at work right now, I can't look at the details. If no one responds, I'll look it up when I get home.

  • Bridge of export keyword incomplete - missing of any 'trees '.

I'm trying to export KW Bridge (4) as a tab-delimited text file.

Export seems fine, but dependent on entire trees of KW end completely disappeared.

Screenshot of bridge KW (note the 'Journey' tree):

    Bridge-KW-Problem-SS.gif

    Here's how this operation exports:

    Bridge-KW-Problem-SS-Export.gif

Note the 'Trip' tree is missing, the whole direction of 'Europe' and the sub-branches. The «...» "indicates properly exported KW which I cut like no illustrates the problem.

Have KW handling set to the default (read the hierarchical keywords).

Is the problem related to the existence of the 'Favorite places' tree before the 'Trip' tree that contains the KW 'Europe' 'France' - and the appearance of several other of the 'journey' secondary keywords tree under other trees?

My only interest in the hierarchical use of the KW is to facilitate the entry and I want to be able to use the same file in Lightroom KW - but that the KW file is not exported the way I expected to import into LR there is a lot of KW > entered KW which are not useful.

    Thank you

Looking at the tree I see the items you are exporting are a different font.  What is c?  Are they italicized?  If so, they are not permanent and cannot be exported.

  • LR4 exports keywords ancestor by mistake

    Hello

I use German LR4 on Windows 7 (64-bit) machine. No installation before LR (except beta LR4), but all the files have been newly imported after erasing the LR4beta catalog.

"Export Lightroom hierarchy" option is disabled.

If I assign a keyword, then there ancestor is exported, too although it has the flag "Include on export" unchecked.

Example: my hierarchy of keywords looks like this (tags in all capitals have flag "Include on export" unchecked!

    EUROPE

    -GERMANY

    -BAVARIA

    -Munich

I have now set the photo - only Munich Munich!

the keyword Tag preview window shows that Munich (option "exports")

but when I sync the metadata in the file, as BAVARIA is written to the file.

This is true for all the keywords that are a leaf in the tree of keywords. Only the ancestor next level is exported by mistake. I guess that's because unchecking "Include on export" flag implicitly Unchecks the option "Export containing keywords", too.

Of course my keyword 'Munich' has the option "export containing keywords checked because it it the parameter by default and this seems to replace the"include on Export"= SPACE adjustment of the ancestor keyword which I regard as a mistake.

It is virtually impossible to change each keyword in a large list of vocabulary Controlley.

I hope that this can be corrected by a future update.

    Kind regards

    Guenther

Sorry, I got confused between export and metadata > save metadata to a file and between 3.6 and 4 LR LR.  (Adobe has changed the meaning of the options keyword at least a couple of times since 3.0).

I confirmed in my catalogs what Dorin observed: in LR 3.6 and 4.0, when you export images, turning off include on export in an ancestor keyword overrides export containing keywords for a descendant.

Here is a summary of what happens when the keyword of the leaf has export containing keywords but the ancestor to include on export.  The columns in the record show if the ancestor is included in both XMP:Subject and XMP:HierarchicalSubject the original image metadata, and export columns if the ancestor is included in the metadata of the exported image:

    Version Save Export
    Object Hier.Subject Object Hier.Subject
    3.6 None Yes None None
    4.0 Yes Yes None None

Notice the change in behavior to save metadata command between versions 3.6 and 4.0.

  • Export of non-exportable keywords

In my hierarchy of keywords I group words under the words of category that should not be included on the export and therefore "to export" is unchecked for them. LR 4 includes anyway and I spend a lot of time to remove them in Bridge. No idea how to do this job the way it's supposed to?

    Thank you.

You use Bridge to examine metadata of:

    a. the files that have been exported from a LR 4 catalog by using the file > export command?

    b. the original cataloged files.

The "Include on export" option for a parent keyword is obeyed for a) (file > Export), while it has no effect on (b) registration of metadata in the original files).

For (b) (registration of metadata in the original files), you can partially exclude keywords parents by unchecking 'Export words containing' for all the keywords of the child.  This will remove the keywords parents of the XMP:Subject and IPTC:Keywords of the metadata fields, which is what most of the other applications look, but parents should always be included in XMP:HierarchicalSubject.  Since the bridge (at Bridge CS4) resembles the XMP:HierarchicalSubject field, it will necessarily see the keywords parents independently.

  • Executives of the .gif as export Photoshop setting

    Hey everybody,

I export a second 20 animation I created in AfterEffects (CC15) as a .gif via Photoshop (CC15). Everything is downloaded correctly and I can see all the images in Photoshop. However, when I go to export to a .gif file by 'Save for Web' about 3/4S of a second is ready for my animated film that disturbs the effect of looping. the window "Save for Web", that's where he seems to have cut the animation. I tried everything I can think of. Any ideas on what causes this Cup? I am also open to any other ideas on how to export an AE animation in a .gif file.

    Thank you in advance!

Look like there is a limit of 500 images in Photoshop 2011 I don't know which was never worn...

  • Export tag keyword settings

I built a large list of keywords heirarchial in one of my catalogs.  I want to export this list for use in other catalogs.  I see how you export the list of keywords and I get a text file, however, the settings applied to each keyword doesn't get exported (for example, the settings for "Include on export", "Export the words containing" and "Export synonyms").  I spent a lot of time to create the list such that only the key words of nonleaf level get exported to my image.  However, when I export my list of keywords from a catalog and import it into a new catalog, these settings are lost.  Is there a way to export these settings as well?  I could create keyword sets, but it would be another effort your time.

In the exported text in key words file, brackets are used to indicate key words with the Include attribute on export.  But the other two attributes, export containing keywords and export synonyms, are not indicated in the file text, unfortunately.

Here's a way to get the hierarchy moved to another catalogue: catalogue of the source, create a new folder with a single fake photo in it.  Assign all your keywords for only one photo.  In the destination catalog, file > import from another catalog and select just this new folder to import.

Overall, many users are not particularly happy with LR keyword management and the LR SDK does not include sufficient capacity of plugins to fill gaps:

    http://feedback.Photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/sdk_small_enhancement_to_lrkeyword_t o_relieve_pressure_from_users

I agree with dg_paige, even if - catalogues are not really designed to share information, and you're often better off with a catalog that much.

  • Export of keywords

How can I export my keywords so I can import it into another application (Capture One)?

Go to the menu metadata. Near the part below the menu is an option to export keywords, it is exported as a text file, it would be appropriate to Capture One?

  • Keywording in LR

    Hi all

I am responsible for creating key words for all our thousands of assets and are trying to decide if LR works for us. A big question is the keywords from a catalog or a collection can be exported to a spreadsheet Xcel? If so, how it is done. Need to know ASAP, so I'm hoping that someone reads this and can help me. Thank you very much.

    David

Keywords from a catalog or a collection can be exported to a spreadsheet Xcel?

    Yes. !

    1. export the list of keywords in a text file.   Menu > metadata > export keywords.

    2. open the text file in MS-Excel format.  You must set the file type "all files (*.)" *)"to find a".txt"file

    3. follow the three steps in Excel to convert the text file to Excel format.

    And you have it. !

  • Preset for the keyword-tag in LR5

    Hello

does anyone know how to preset the ticks in the AREA of keyword TAG?

    See the image below.

    20160113_Keyword-tag preset_a.jpg

Reason: I would like to change the preset to: only graduation in the first box and the other two empty, while the automatic preset is / was all the three boxes checked as soon as I sign a new keyword.

Would be a great help. THX

    The system that I use:

MACBookPro 2.66 GHz mid-2010 with 8GBYTE of RAM

    LR 5.7.1

    OS X 10.11.2

This means, that klicks change by exporting keywords and no way to set this configuration in the stone for the application?

No, export a photo does not affect the default values for the keyword checkboxes.   The first three include on export, export containing keywords, and export synonyms, always default for new keywords to check.

Over the years, many people have complained about the inability to edit several keywords at the same time and change these attributes, but Adobe did not act on these complaints.

  • Keywords and hierarchies

Can anyone give me some advice on changing my keywording set up please.

I currently have a catalog of about 16 000 images that have been keyworded in a structure "flat" with no hierarchy. For the most part, they are simply keyworded with 'where' and 'what' is the material.

I read recently about the creation of a list of key words structured outside of Lightroom and then import into.

I exported the current list "flat", in order to determine all of the keywords currently used and then created a structured list in the format I would use.

What I'm not sure of right now, it's going to happen the keywording when I import the new list. I guess one of the following, but do not know that:

-the new list will not be recognized by the existing keyworded images. they keep original keywording here. Actually, I'll finish by two of each keyword, with the new not used until I have apply to something.

-the existing images will retain their key words, but their aura of the structure of the new list (if only life was as simple as that!)

I'm hesitant to try this angry until I understand the consequences a little better, so if anyone can give me some advice on the best way to do this would be much appreciated.

I'm sure that your first assumption is correct. It is quite possible to have the same keyword multiple times in your list of keywords, with different parents.

As for trying 'angry', you can create a small catalogue of throw and do your testing it and delete the catalog later. It is perhaps a good idea, anyway.

  • If I restore the presets for keyword it will destroy current keywords in all the catalogues?

I'm working through Classroom in a Book and had to make a separate catalog for the lessons in the book. I'm at a party who is telling me to restore keyword presets, but when I'm ready to do that a warning window appears to ask me if I don't know that I want to do. I guess that it will scan keywords already created to restore keyword presets in the preferences. Is this true? If so, it will wipe away only keywords in the catalog in effect and will be the key words that I created for my main catalog safe? Where are stored the keywords? In the catalog or in the request for Lightroom?

    TIA,

    Ken

PS: what happened to restore other presets a half dozen preferences: are global presets for all catalogs (especially for Lightroom), or simply apply to the open current catalog?

Restoration Keyword sets do not remove any existing saved games or remove keywords from your list of keywords. It has the only purpose to restore or to give you (have they been removed) three sets of keyword supplied with Lightroom (photography outdoors, Portrait Photography and wedding photography). Nothing is destroyed when you use this option. The screenshot below is an example, and you will find that it contains 9 predefined keywords (9 being the maximum in any game).

The keyword list is stored in the catalog, but you can export it to a text file (metadata > menu to export keywords). In fact, it's a good idea to export a copy just in case you accidentally delete it or part of it from Lightroom.

PS: what happened to restore other presets a half dozen preferences: are global presets for all catalogs (especially for Lightroom), or simply apply to the open current catalog?

As for the restoration of the keyword lists, restore the other presets is used to you puts one of the built-in presets you may have removed. Restore does not remove everything you may have created.

In general, the Presets and templates are Global by default. However, you have the possibility to store with the catalogue (see Presets Panel in the preferences).  Crop presets are still stored in the catalog. Only global presets/templates are available for all catalogs. Storage of patterns presets with a catalog puts them in a folder in your catalog folder.

  • How many keywords can be asigned to a photo.

I'm scanning "analog" photos, shot on negative and positive film. It will take a few months before the end, and in order to check them I want to assign keywords if I can easily find specific information. How many keywords will accept Photos, and they are with the image or in a separate file?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hans

no limit except it can't is complicated to use if you have a lot - and they are stored in the database of Photos and when you export a photo if you select this option to export keywords, they are added to the exported photo IPTC fields
