External display problem

HI, I have a problem with an external display connected with VGA to my MBP retina using a useful of love at first sight.

I used to have offices in each screen, so if I changed external '3' to the '2' in the display office desktop, Office on screen macbook used to stay in the '1' office that I was using, now if a change from one office to another (for example using gesture) screens of stand are affected, the son, I have the same number of jobs in each screen and if a want to change into a screen I can not leave the other in the office that I used.

just to be clear, the screens are not in mirroring, they are separated, only changes in office in a screen also has an impact on another one (the contents of each office is not the same)

Thank you for any response

Try changing the 'screens have separate spaces' setting in the preferences system "Mission Control."

    Hello

I have Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP display with HDMI and DVI (with HDMI DVI converter) entry - I use HDMI as my primary connection. My Qosmio has NVidia 7600 Go card with the latest drivers provided by Toshiba for Vista 32 bit (version 7.15.10.9813).

My monitor was working fine months ago (same thing with my HDMI TV) I had no problems - but now I have a constant flickering problem (goes black watch my office then becomes black again) computer laptop monitor and no image on external display at all and I get 'balloon' message in the taskbar that my display driver has stopped working and it recovers when I leave my HDMI cable.

    any ideas?

    Thank you
    Bran.

    Hi Brani

It seems that the error comes from the display driver.
Why you n t try to remove the old display driver and try to reinstall the graphics driver of the European driver Toshiba page
    You may notice some improvements.

By the way; It might be useful to know that the Qosmio G30 supports the standard HDMI V1.1 (up to 1080i resolution).

  • Re: Tecra M5 - Windows 7 - external display problem

    Hello

I have a Tecra M5 and now I decided to install windows 7 on it.
Everything is ok except the external display output.
Chosse the external display with shortcuts to windows 7 (w + P key) or Fn + F5, it does not work.
The screen external ir well recognized, but there is no picture.
The computer has the latest drivers from the toshiba support page.

This experiment was done with resolutions and different monitors...

    Can you help me?

    Thank you
    Pedro Lisboa

    Hey Buddy,

This means that your external display is recognized correctly in the menu display driver?
Have you tried to extend or clone display in the display driver? Normally the external monitor should show a picture

Have you checked if the other FN keys work? Maybe added package must be reinstalled to who controls the FN keys.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 8220 Flip external display problem

I am a new blackberry owner and this is my first ever blackberry devive, so please be patient with me

The external display on my 8220 Flip is not how it was all day yesterday after I bought it.  Constantly, the external display shows the clock and extinguish.  I loaded last night on the bedstand, and this morning it was still on.  Music playback works well, but the clock still shows if music while the valve is closed.  External for pause and volume buttons work correctly and cause externally 'now playing' screen appears briefly, but then it goes right back to the clock.

I don't know exactly how this would have changed, but it seems to happen when I changed from one theme to another, unforutnately, that it has not corrected itself by returning to the correct behavior, after that I went back to the original theme.

I'm almost certain that this must (eventually) have some sort of negative effect on the life of the screen and battery.  Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this?

    Thanks in advance!

Contempt, I thought about it.  A hard reset is the display external back to normal behavior (remove the battery while the phone is ON, then wait a minute and then restarting him).

Hope this does not become a regular thing with my new phone :-)

  • Tecra S1 under Windows 2000 Professional external display problem

As I can't answer in the original thread (1831), because it is locked, I put here my answer to the answer of the Quad.

Quad first wanted to know if we have installed the Tecra S1 on a recovery CD.

No, we do not have. We have created an image that consists of an unattended installation. It is installed from a Windows 2000 RIS server.

Quad also said that the Fn + F5 is enabled after the installation of the utility Hotkey for display devices.

We downloaded the hotkey utility, but when we tried to install it we got the error message you "Driver not found" and suspended installation. We have installed as a user with administrator privileges.

We do something wrong, or this utility owes something to be installed as well?

    Kind regards

    Hi again Mr. Hofman,

First of all I must tell you that this is a typical problem. AFAIK Tecra S1 comes with the Professional Windows XP Home edition and optionally with W2000 professional. This two OS has been tested and Toshiba offers all drivers and tools to Toshiba download website.

It will be interesting how you created this image. What was the basis for this image? You are installed to the first completely Tecra and after created image?

Have you had problems before the creation of the image?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Pearl 8220 Flip - external display troubleshooting.

On a few weeks ago, my father has updated my BB Flip 8220 with the Desktop Manager software that comes with the phone. When he gave me this back, I realized that the external display is empty or just said "T Mobile". Then I noticed several things: when someone would call me, their caller ID would not appear. When anyone text me, I was not able to preview the text I had before. Finally, I was not able to display the elapsed time between the external screen, so I have to unlock my phone to do.

I looked at other threads that consider external display problems and read about the technique of picking off the dough. But before reading this, I did several times and nothing changed when I turned it back on.

Now, that said, my question is: 1) is because of my father, blackberry Desktop Manager software update? I lost the usb cable that connects my phone to my computer, but wanted to check if it's something that I could fix it from the phone itself.

    (2) and if it was because of the update, as it did, where would I go to fix it (in the Desktop Manager program).

    Help, please!

I just found the real solution by reading the post below.  Open the Blackberry Desktop Manager when your 8220 is connected to your PC.  Open Application Loader.  Install the Blackberry attachment Service.  As soon as it finished installing my external screen was back to the clock.  My T-Mobile SIM is currently out of the House and the phone is locked, so I can't try Caller-ID or other alerts until tonight, but if the clock is back I think everything's too.

Thanks to zwood to validate the correction below.

  • MacBook - problems to connect the external display w

I do a lot of presentations (Keynote) to Mac external displays at events.

The new MacBook (12 ") is quite often problems, so I have to carry a MacBookAir as back-up in case where.

Problems can be no image at all, or two images (like 70% Keynote + 30% of office) and with spikes.

It doesn't matter if I use HDMI or VGA. And Yes, I know how to set the resolution in the workplace sometimes that the problem is solved by adjusting the resolution manually, but then the Macbook can jump to the resolution which does not by itself during the slide show...

I think that the problem only occurs when I have to go through a device such as a split, or when there is a lot of tech back stage.

Anyone having problems of this kind with the MacBook?

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix?

  • kernel_task runaway (from 300 to 600%) CPU with 2 external displays

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012), and for a year and a half, I've had episodes fighter during the kernel_task suddenly begin to consume all processor CPU (from 300 to 600%), is the response of the system so slow it is impossible to use.  I experience these episodes throughout the front 1-2 years that the machine went from Yosemite El Capitan and now Sierra.

Normally, I use my MacBook with two external displays, both at work and at home.  At work, I have two external screens of Lenovo, and at home, I have two screens Apple (Apple Cinema Display 27-inch and 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display). I discovered that this kernel_task high CPU usage can only be stopped by disconnecting one of the external screens.  After unplugging an external display, the kernel_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can reconnect the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 300-600% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

Note that since I upgraded to MacOS Sierra fugue kernel_task CPU frequency has increased considerably: of 1 kernel_task runaway every several days to a runaway almost every 10 minutes or so.   I don't have a reason this frequency has increased, but the runaway condition seems to have worsened by the fact that the photoanalysisd daemon is running like crazy on my grand (72 000) library of Photos.

Also note that I started in recovery mode and have re-installed MacOS Sierra, and it has no effect on the runaway kernel_task.

Any ideas on how to fix this resumption of kernel_task of all my CPU?

I have attached my EtreCheck system report below.  This report was captured with two attached external displays.  At halfway while generating a report, the kicks and started kernel_task hogging CPU again.

  • External display on HDMI overheating my Mac and drains the battery badly

    Hey guys.

I am using a MBP retina 2012 15 inches with an external monitor, a generic LCD 1080 p via HDMI without problems. And recently updated for Sierra.

The question starts immediately when I plug it into the screen. The Macbook seems to overheat and run fans above 4000 rpm, which is very audible and boring. CPU and GPU temperatures go above 70 degrees C (normally they make 50 +). The battery holds for only 1.5 hours, generally works well for 4-5 hours.
I tried killing all apps, followed a bad process in activity monitor, changing default resolution - nothing helps so far. The CPU is barely used by 10%, the memory pressure is fine.
It's just that time when I plug the screen - Mac starts bad feeling. Never, the problem occurred on El Capitan. Maybe it's a GPU problem, but certainly caused by the OS.
All the world had the same problem?

Try resetting the NVRAM (hold down the command-option-P-R on startup).

Also, try to restart in Mode without failure, then normally again.

Finally, try logging into your account, sign in to a user account (or the guest account) and connect the external display. Same problem? If it works fine for a new account then it's something in your own account which is the cause - perhaps an element of connection or some other system changes induced by the operating system previous and who does not play nice with Sierra.

  • How to calibrate an external display for macOS Sierra?

    Hi guys,.

seems that on my Macbook Pro after the update everything is strong and displayed correctly.

However, on the external monitor, a 24 "AOC who was as crisp and sharp as the laptop (kind of I know) the images and the text seems to be well screwed. two attached photos to see the differences between the screens - even cannot correctly read the external monitor

any ideas on how to solve this problem? or is irreparable? I tried to calibrate the monitor, used the old calibration profiles, etc. looks like illegible

    Thanks in advance

    Hello justme12,
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

  • Scaling to external display

I have a 2015 retina MacBook Pro with an external display k 4 (Asus PB287Q) and since the update for Sierra yesterday, I can select is more scaling "resolutions" which lie between 1920 x 1080 and 3840 x 2160. HD is far too big, far too small 4K. If you please, that there is a solution to this... I tried to restart, and it actually brought back the correct options until I closed the lid, and now they have disappeared and don't come back.

That's what my display properties are similar (alt + click on Options):

I had the same problem since the beta and still no word from apple. They completely borked seriously display drivers. I run dual monitors Dell P2715Q. A monitor allows me to choose the old scale with all the resolutions already supported 1080 p up to 4 k. 10.11 I could select the same resolutions on both monitors. Now I'm stuck with the resolutions that you mentioned on my second monitor. If I put my MBP to sleep and wake it up both monitors reflect the resolutions that show you without intermediate options between 1080 p and 4 k.

    Howdy Yaser of zoysia,

It seems that your screen displays some graphical anomalies when you connect to your user name. I would use these troubleshooting steps in the following article on the resolution of screens:

Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

  • Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c: external display do not wake

    Hello

I've got Tecra Z50 - A - 11 c and an external display connected to the VGA port.
I implemented the plan of power management to turn off the screen after 10 minutes.

The monitor turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
The problem is that is not wake the mouse or a key.

I have to restart the laptop to put the image on the external monitor.
    The internal display works fine.

It seems to me like a BIOS problem, but I have the latest version of the BIOS.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you
    Jacek

What happens if you press the function key (Fn + F5) to change the display output? This combination activates the external monitor again?
Have you noticed the same problem using the hibernation, or "sleep" mode?

I m not very good if it really a laptop before issuing.
I mean the internal display still works fine and it would be advisable to check this problem using different external monitors.

By the way: the laptop supports Intel HD Graphics 4400. Try to install the latest Intel GPU driver:

    Hello

I have a Qosmio X 870-116 which have 2 video cards, an Intel onboard and a more powerful Nvidia.
My problem, I did not how to pass my screen on the Intel card and I see my Nvidia for the display external.

Someone has an idea to pass on to my first display nvidia card?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Something like this isn't possible.
You cannot use two cards simultaneously for internal and external display.

First of all, you can switch between the external and internal view using the Fn + F4 (or just F4) function key

Secondly the nVidia Optimus technology optimize the performance of the laptop perfectly without a GPU nVidia and Intel graphics card.
Switching is automatic and requires no reboot of s for laptop.

Graphics driver is up to date.

We got 20 "external monitor wide screen HD.
When it is used as external screen it allows only up to 1280 x 1024. The display is nice streched out.

I tried the monitor of one laptop another the same graphics card (integrated memory graphics controller Intel 945GM Chipset), also Windows 7 Enterprise.
The same version of the graphics driver. This laptop has resolution up to 1600 x 900.

Any ideas on what needs to be done on A110 Pro to support the resolution 1600 x 900 for the external monitor?

Note: I've tried DTD Calculator but still the same http://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/showthread.php?t=56423.

    Hello

Available external display resolution depends on the graphics chip and the driver graphics card.
If the graphics chip or the graphics driver doesn t card supports the preferred external resolution, you will not be able to choose.

It seems that the graphics chip will support this resolution.
In such cases, it s a driver problem.

Therefore, it would be advisable to download and install the driver from the Intel page.
I had the similar problem in the past. The driver of Toshiba page didn t supports my favorite external resolution. I got the driver from Intel page and was able to chose him.
