External issues with GT630 on Satellite P850-133

As the title says, I have problems with my external graphics card, namely that it is not recognized by equipment checks. Instead, it is my integrated graphics, the graphics card Intel HD 4000, which seems to be the default video card which is a little annoying me.

Is there a way to fix this and get my GT630 as my default graphics card?

Useful for all the answers I get.

Does that mean exactly?
It appears in Device Manager?

The unit has been equipped with an nVidia GPU and it supports an internal Intel GPU too

    Hello!

I got my 2 new p850-133 and they have reinstalled with a new copy of Windows 7, and then the extended graphics card does not work, he said: "code 10" failed to start, what to do, the hd4000 intel integrated works really well.

    Hello

The laptop is equipped with a GPU NVIDIA® GeForce® GT630M.
The European driver Toshiba page provides 3 different display drivers.

2 drivers for nVidia GPU (v296.0 for the 3D and v296.01) and one for Intel (v 8.15.10.2712).
You must install the Intel driver and one of the nVidia drivers.

  • Performance issues with Vista on Satellite L40 - 14N

I just signed up to your forum, it's really nice, how it works.
I bought 3 months ago, a satellite L40-14N, with Vista Home Premium pre-installed, but I'm starting to get tired of the delays.
I also have a problem, always Walker I want to open some windows, such as control panel or my computer and all my icons on the desktop disappear after some time will be displayed again, but not the application open before (Panel configuration or my computer).

I wanted to ask all of you, what may be the problem, in fact I think to get rid of Vista and install XP, do you think it would be a good idea?
If so, what kind of xp (sp2, sp3, etc.)? And, what I would have in return when I install xp, as what drivers need me for my laptop works properly again?

Thank you very much... good day

    Hello

He knows that the Vista operating system is in need of more resources as a Microsoft OS at the beginning of s.
I have a Vista on the L30 and I get a really slow performance.
In addition many services and processes running in the background of the operating system. It also decreases performance.
But all background processes are needed if you want to use all the features of notebooks such as the FN keys or buttons to Toshiba for example.

However, I've installed XP on the L30 without any additional driver for the FN keys, control buttons etc and it was amazing to see how fast the laptop can be.

So generally it s not a bad idea to install XP on the L40.
But note; If you want to install XP on the L40 you must install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager first. Without this driver SATA XP does not recognize the HARD drive.

I looked around and discovered that it is the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230.
I tried the page installation and execution of the driver intel for your driver wifi here Win764():

Does anyone know which driver I should get or, if its another problem, what is?

I have a problem with my laptop Satellite 300-133

I installed Windows 7. Then installed the driver that I found. I have not found on utility Hotkey for Windows 7 and I need to install the driver for Windows XP compatibility mode. I think it's driver problems. I cann't find driver for Windows 7 :(

    What should I do?

    Best regards, Sergei.

    Hi wer32,

For Windows 7 there is no Hotkey Utility as on Windows 7. All the Toshiba built-in tools in Toshiba Value added Package which should be available for your P300:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

So in your case, you must remove the Toshiba for XP utilities. Then install the package of added value on the Toshiba site.

I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 and my Skype, I see the incoming caller, but the caller cannot see me.

When I go on Skype, the 'blue' webcam indicator does not light, but does not work on other applications

I have a Satellite P850 with integrated webcam that works in other applications.

I checked and installed all the upgrades of windows, so I don't know what is the issue.

Everyone has to a similar problem.

    Paul

    Hello

After upgrading Windows 8.1, you must update and reinstall the driver Toshiba and the tools that have been released for Windows 8.1.
    Did you do that?
If this isn't the case, update the software to the Windows 8.1 compatible version.

Reinstalling Skype would also be a very good idea.
Uninstall the previous version installed, restart the laptop, install Skype again and check the configuration of Skype!

  • Replace the screen for one with a higher resolution on Satellite P850-12Z

    Hi all

I read a lot on the internet about the replacement of the screen on computers laptop toshiba and also I saw a video on [how to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P855 | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncz3ZaI2I-s].

Is it possible to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P850 12Z (original: 15.6"@1366x768) to another screen with a higher resolution (say: 15.6"@1920x1080 or 15.6"@1600x900)?

I'm sure that the graphics card is able to function perfectly with this screen (nVidia GeForce GT630M 2048 MB dedicated) and also I read a lot on laptop screen replacement, and I know that this screen has a connector 40 pin and it is an LED Panel, so I won't have to worry about the ups.

I found several screens (15.6"@1920x1080) who say they are compatible with Toshiba, but I wan't to make sure a higher resolution Panel replacement is possible.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

Exchange of the display is not supported by Toshiba, so I don't think that someone here can help you with this.
I assume that Toshiba offers multiple views for this model of laptop. Only seller is different but resolution 1366 x 768 is always the same as on the original laptop specification.

You can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. If someone can help you with that service of Toshiba. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can possibly tell if another view is usable on your machine.

    All this is quite complicated.

  • Satellite P850-F315 - RECOVERY ISSUES

    Hello

    I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite P850-F315.

After that I did a factory reset (now "zero" all by pressing the button "power on"), I noticed that I had driver problems on my USB ports.
I have found workarounds and kept the operation of the machine.

This morning the wireless card stops working and so did the bluetooth device (it is, of course, in addition to the USB ports that were never resolved).

The machine won't let me not re-install the drivers for those devices.
I tried a system restore Windows, which did not help.
So I came back to perform a factory reset Toshiba.

    + It is underway. +

    Here are my questions.
When I performed the first factory reset, it was the problem of the USB to start.
When I tried to re - install the USB drivers, they seem to be "locked" while signed in as a user.
I could only install devices on USB ports, when I was in safe mode.
    Why would this happen?

Secondly, I have another identical machine, which is currently works perfectly.
This problem will be repeated if I do a factory reset on the second machine?

Is there a reason why wireless and bluetooth devices may stop working randomly?
The wireless hardware seems to be detected by the system, but I can't install the software or device drivers. When I go in the settings of the wireless card and select a Protocol, the properties button is "grayed out" which means I can't go into the properties of each protocol. On the bluetooth device, it freezes while loading software at 15%.

It just seems like there are too many random questions on a single machine. I hope someone can help me with a simple solution for all problems.

    Hello

The whole story is really strange and I can't imagine what the problem is here. Fact is this recovery image original Toshiba is always created for some portable model and contains the operating system, all necessary drivers for hardware components, specific tools and Toshiba Utilities and some additional software.

Toshiba recovery image contains drivers tested so I m really confused why you had all of these problems.
At first, my advice to you is to create using recovery disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. After doing this using this drive for the functionality of recovery by image installation and test once more.
    > I have another identical machine, which is currently works perfectly.
Googling around, I found that your computer has the PSPKBF part number. If this machine another has the same part number create recovery disk and use it on the original machine just to see if the same problem happens again.
    > This problem repeated itself, if I do a factory reset on the second machine?
I understand the reason for this question, but recovery image can be installed to 1000 times and the result must be the same. I installed recovery image on multiple machines, and each time the reset settings has been successfully and without any strange problems.

Believe me it is not easy to help you with all these problems. Recovery image is tested and after recovery image installation, everything should be ok.
Please do what I wrote and do some tests.

    Send comments.

  • Various issues with Satellite M40 225

    Hello

I am having some problems with my laptop Satellite M40-225. -Here's...

First of all when booting I get a bad / lack error OSB, in order for me to get to the start I must incline Press esc, go into the bios then get out of the bios tilt the laptop again and it will start then.

Also I sometimes get errors BOSD, sometimes he mentions ati2, but above all it says physical memory.

I have flashed the bios to try to get rid of the first error but no luck.
Nothing new has been installed on the laptop, I even reloaded windows and tried with a spare hard drive, but nothing seems to work!

Please help, I know that probably need something alternative, but I don't want to start buying things for her I have I don't know what's going to fix it.

    Thank you

    Susie

    Hello

AFAIK usually Missing/Bad OSB logo error message is displayed if the error was detected in the BIOS or CMOS ROM module

But according to the BSOD with physical memory error error, I guess that your modules of memory are not correct and that this must be the main reason for you questions.

Of course I could be wrong also, and perhaps the whole issue is related to the faulty motherboard but in the first step, you should check your modules of memory installed.

Hope you will get rid of these questions after a replacement memory.
    I keep fingers crossed ;)

    Good luck

  • Satellite P850/040 - Windows 7 black screen with the white mouse pointer

    I have a Satellite P850/040

I tried to start and was taken to the "Windows Error Recovery" screen. I tried the options "Start Windows normally" and "(recommended) launch startup repair. None worked!

In the "Advanced Boot Options", I tried in vain the following options:
    Repair your computer
    Safe mode
    Activate video low resolution
    Last known good Configuration (Advanced)
    Start Windows normally

Foolishly, I did not run a backup of my files for 6 months & can't afford to lose some of them.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I send it to a Repair Service Toshiba (it is not available in the city where I live)? Thank you

    > Stupidly, I did not run a backup of my files for 6 months & can't afford to lose some of them.

    Two options:

(* 1) * you would remove the laptop HARD drive and use an external USB 2.5 enclosure SATA to connect this HARD drive on another computer. In this case, you should be able to access the HARD disk and save the files.

(* 2) * you would be to start Notepad using Live CD Linux Live CD or a Live CD of WindowsPE. Google this for more details.

  • laptop connected to an external monitor with vga cable issues?

    1The votefavorite

I use a Sony Vaio e series laptop running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, which I always connect to an external monitor with a VGA cable.

I put graphics options to display only on the external monitor and I would like to close the lid of the laptop. In the power settings I put it do nothing when the lid closes.

When it is connected to the external screen I am able to look at the screen very well if the lid of the laptop is open. But whenever I close the lid, the display on the external monitor is turned off.

I have tried everything I can think of as the use of a keyboard to toggle the display, change the plan to plug the monitor off before and after and even more, to much to list etc.

I actually did it on my HD TV using a Hdmi cable that allows me to close the lid. But I want to use it only on my monitor that is sadly only VGA.

I know I'm not alone here, I found many forums on the same issue, but nobody seems to have an answer. It is always with the help of a VGA cable when I find others with the same problem.

Does anyone know where a response?

It seems either VGA may be quite old now since the introduction of HDMI, that Microsoft has not bothered to look on this or get out an update to resolve this issue. Sorry it's just very frustrating because cannot find an answer, and I don't like the laptop overheating or wasting money on energy.

    (1) right click on your power Option icon on the taskbar

    (2) will take you to Options below

    Control Panel:

Choose what closing the lid"this choice is the 3rd in your list of choices

The next screen will allow you to configure your choice:

    When I close the lid:

    On battery: do nothing and

    Plugged in: Do nothing

This will prevent your system/video to go to sleep or stopping

    Hope this helps

  • Satellite P850-12 - Toshiba Service Station error

I have a portable Satellite P850-12 which is 2 months old. There has never been a fast computer, and now gas station gives me the error:
    Unhandled exception program!
    Source: Toshiba ServiceStation
Message: The external component has thrown an exception.
    Target: Void Initialize Component()
    Inner exception: no

(WHY are not copyable error messages so you don't have to type it all by going back to the error message?)

Anyway, read on the forums, someone said to go on the site of Toshiba, redownload, uninstall, and then reinstall it from the download, which I did - still does not work.

It tries to start when the laptop and it hangs for a long time before giving the error message. Dag that disappeared from Windows made an another update a few days ago that I had to uninstall, because he kept the computer to boot at all, so I think it's what pulled the TSS.

Any ideas on how to make it work again and leave me alone? Thank you.

    PAM

It is well known that the original recovery image contains many specific Toshiba Toshiba and utility tools and also some additional applications and almost all of them starts with Windows. That is the reason why almost every new notebook Toshiba starts slowly.

It can be changed. You must change the start option and disable some unnecessary services to startup with Windows. That s not a big deal.

Return to your main problem: Toshiba Service Station. This software starts with Windows and inform you of software updates. To be honest, it is the first app that I removed from my system.
In any case, what you can do is to try to reinstall. You have already done, but next time, after withdrawal of test system for clean using CCleaner registry entries.

If there is the only way to get it working again is to reinstall the OS using HARD drive recovery option.
In the end, I write again: it removes the system and the problem is solved. You don t he need at all.

  • Satellite P850 - 31L PSPKFE - DirectX crashing

    Hello!

    I recently bought a:

    Satellite P850 - 31L
    Part number: PSPKFE-00P007EN

and I'm very happy with the laptop overall. However, I have problems running 3 Crysis and Assassin Creed 3 on the device.

In both cases, that they often crash to the desktop and are followed by a journal of events applications such as:

The failing application name: crysis3.exe, version: 1.2.0.0, time stamp: 0x02f47040
The failed module name: d3d11.dll, version: 6.2.9200.16420, time stamp: 0x505a95af
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Offset: 0x00068dd7

Its pretty easy to see that the problem is related to DirectX 11 on the nVidia card.

I have a laptop specifications lower HP with a 230M nVidia GeForce series running Assassin Creed 3 without problem (although it won't run Crysis 3 due to the lack of Dx11 support).

I have tried to update the drivers for nVidia display current offical those on Satellite, but am prevented from doing so because of the soft lock used in Toshiba hardware.

I am currently using the drivers of December on the Toshiba site.

This isn't a problem with gambling, it is a driver problem. Referenced games are just as good as the test tools. Please don't move this post, it obscures the issue. Or Tosh he must release the lock or to update driver.

    Thanks in advance,

    Crispian
