  I am trying to install Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite M40-225, but it does not start after installation.   Satellite M40 has no Bluetooth. This means that you must buy a USB BT's key. It's not expensive and installation is very simple. Usually, if you buy the one that you will get the software CD. Before installing any software, check if your unit has installed Bluetooth stack.

  I'm sure you will find battery Bluetooth for Windows by Toshiba V3.10.00 on your device. In the control panel check Add and Remove Programs option. List all the installed components.

  Maybe overheating! Satellite M40 is two years old now, and I can imagine that there is more dust inside. I recommend to clean it up and you will see that the unit won't stop and will also work a lot more silent as before.

• Satellite M40-225 and PCMCIA Vista driver

  I have lost my original for my M40 discs so bought a copy of Vista to install on my computer, when I install everything first that the computer would not start so I searched on the internet and it seems that there is a conflict with the PCMCIA and Vista drivers. I followed the advice on the forum, and managed to get vista to load by removing all files related to the PCMCIA drivers.

  Vista is in charge now, but I am unable to find updated drivers for the PCMCIA location running. I use this port for my Wi - Fi has inside it was very slow with my router. I tried to download the drivers for Toshiba but there not those of Vista. I reinstalled the original but they still don t work although Vista is in charge now. Does anyone know a solution to my problem?

  The drivers are included in the Vista operating system so how did you remove these drivers and how did you install Vista on this laptop?

  As far as I know the laptop uses PC2700 DDR - Ram modules.
  You can upgrade the memory for max 2048 MB and these modules should work properly:
  PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)
  PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)
  1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G)

  I don't know if anyone would be able to help, but I recently posted on my power supply blow. I was able to get in touch with a diet that is supposed to be compatible with my laptop. The reference number of this power supply is PA3378E-1ACA which is 15v 5A side, and one that exploded because of worn wiring part was PA3378U-1ACA.

  Would it not good for me to use it? My laptop was left uncharged for days now, really needing to work! :(

  New list of questions for Satellite M40X user:

  (1) in standby mode doesn't work, the computer crashes, trying to get into stand-by.

  (2) all images are missing in Word 2002 documents when I discovered these documents (on M40X only).

  (3) computer speakers give an electric shock to the wrists.

  (4) hard disk crash regardless of all the parameters of the software provided by Windows or Toshiba Software (probably due to a buggy in BIOS v1.6).

  4. try to reinstall the utility of Toshiba power saver again

• Several media related issues with satellite A210-171

  I have an Equuim A210-171 which has a S-Video socket and a display ATI card I hooked up to my TV but I can't get a picture. I have implemented in the ATI Control Panel and have tried to connect before you turn on the TV, but still, this has no effect.

  Also, I tried to burn a TV show I recorded using Media Center (also used for the recording of the program). I have 2 problems...

  1. the burning process takes forever to fill
  2. the final result does not appear properly when played back on a DVD player. The menu appears and works fine, but when you start the program there is only what I can describe as diagonal lines appear on the screen. The sound seems fine

  I'm doing something wrong here or is this a known problem

  To get the TV picture please do not follow:

  -Start your laptop and the TV turns
  -Connect your laptop with TV using the S-video cable
  -turn on the S-video TV port
  -use the FN + F5 key combination and go to the TV output setting

  I did probably 100 times with different TVs and it worked every time. Many people always make the same mistake the S-video port on television is not properly active and because of that don't here are either no picture or the picture is black and white.

  On the creation of DVD I can't say a lot right now, but I can say with certainty that I designed using Media Center DVD engraving option. I recorded some old VHS movies as mpg files and created DVDs with no problems. I don't really know what you're doing wrong.

  If you mpeg files also try to use another application to create DVDs. try with Nero. It is very powerful and I hope you do this successfully.
