external spekers to laptop?

Hi, my computer has no audio when it is connected to the new external monitor via an HDMI cable, because the sound is routed to the external monitor by default, apparently.  I get audio when it is connected to the external screen with headphones.  However, I would like to listen to music while the computer without headphones.  A suggestions about which way to go, tooth i.e.blue speakers, wired speakers or what.  I am just relaxing listening to music in the background and don't have surround sound with a lot of power.

Thanks, Stan

To use the audio from the laptop when HDMI is connected, open the playback of the sound properties:

> open start then type Sound. You will see a list of results that include sound and its control panel. To get the sound properties, select sound, which opens with the tab reading shows already.

> or open the complete control Panel then click on display as icons (not as categories view), then click sound.

> or right click on the audio icon on the taskbar and select playback devices.

Find speakers to the list of playback devices and do a right click on it, then set as default device. After doing this the audio should get out the plug for headphones or speakers to the laptop when a device is plugged into it. You should probably do this every time when you set up HDMI. I do not have a screen of a laptop computer that uses Conexant audio as the i7353, but here is one a laptop with Realtek.

  • Possible to connect an external monitor for laptop HP Pavilion dv4t-4200 CTO

I have a HP Pavilion dv4t-4200 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC model # A1M02AV and it has a VGA, one port that resembles a cable port phone/broadband and one that looks like a USB port, but indented on each side down. I can even connect an external monitor? How will I know if I have more than 1 video card? In addition to the usual USB/headphone ports, I have not all ports. He says that my drivers are up to date... but I don't know even what I'm looking for. Do I need to install something or buy some kind of adapter?

I'm trying to connect an external Dell montitor via the VGA port with a VGA cable. The monitor has power, but my laptop does not detect recognize them / it. However, when I plugged in the first time in, my laptop screen has shrunk in a square (vs the entire screen) so he acknowledged something... but nothing happened on the external monitor.

I tried to detect through my display settings, but I have accidentally changed some display setting until the reception desk shows only 1 monitor, but not selected my real laptop screen or something or changed to be Monitor 2 (even if there is no monitor 1), so when I plug the cable into my laptop suddenly my desktop disappears and it's just a white background screen - and I cannot access the screen of the computer settings or whatever whatever... when the cable is disconnected this setting seems to be normal, so I can not understand how to fix it.

Sorry, I don't know what I'm doing here - please help!

    Hello

All Dell monitors are equipped with CD for the drivers. Your laptop may not know the monitor without its driver, it will not install automatically. Please check:

Ringht click an empty space on the desktop,

    Click Customize

    Click on display

    Click on change display settings

You can see the TWO laptop screen and external monitor in there, as shown in the following image:

For the test, I put my Dell monitor is my main screen. If I can't see 2 monitors, you need its driver first and then check the cable.

    Kind regards.

  • Graphics card external for my laptop?

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1340sa - it has an integrated graphics card and therefore cannot be upgraded * sigh *, however I have heard of external graphics cards. Is it possible to use one with this laptop? And if so it will be reasonably priced or should I just buy a desktop computer?

Completely disappointed that I can't play my games

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes, forget the external graphics card. They are expensive and really just aim to enable multiple monitors to be used. They are not powerful enough for the games. USB 3.0 is much better, but your laptop doesn't have a USB 3.0 ports.

  • Impossible to get good resolution on external monitor for laptop

    Asus K50IJ laptop

    Win 7 Home Premium 64 - Bit SP1

    Intel Core2Duo T6600

    4 GB OF RAM

Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Monitor is Samsung SC750_S24C750P connected with VGA cable (laptop doesn't have a HDMI output)

I reinstalled the drivers for the graphics card; current driver is 8.15.10.2302 of 11/02/2011

I reinstalled the drivers for the monitor; current driver is 1.0.0.0 11 13, 2012

Monitor is currently appearing as "HDMI" in the Device Manager; I have chosen "Analogue" and had the same results. Now & then I see "Generic PnP monitor" in the Device Manager. whenever I see it I uninstall it.

Bottom line is this: settings keep bouncing everywhere. On rare occasions, I saw the picture I want on the external monitor; When I close the lid on my computer (that's why I bought the external monitor - so I can get a bigger picture, not two), the resolution is 1024 x 768. When I disconnect the external monitor, I get the correct image and ratio 16:9 (1366 x 768) on my laptop screen. When I connect the external monitor I have two choices for the resolution: 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768.

I went to the Intel graphics properties tool and set a resolution to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz - 32 bit - proposed by Samsung for their monitor. Result 7 choices of resolution, no '' recommended '' and the higher tag 1366 x 768. I can live with 1280 x 720; When I choose this resolution or anything higher, the laptop screen is superb, but the image on the external monitor covers 1/4 of the screen - the rest is black. Reset the external monitor doesn't change anything.  Computer restarting does not help. Monitor disconnect/reconnect does not help. I tried this routine dozens of times.

I really need to use the external monitor, and I need the image proportional. Is there a way to do this?

    Separated from: http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_7-hardware/cant-get-right-resolution-on-external-monitor-for/f3680ff9-684c-428E-a6ac-74fe4171a845

    Hi, thanks for the response.

I saw this on the Intel Web site so I tried mode extended without change.

If I had 1366 x 768 on both screens, I would have been delighted - instead, I had two choices on my external monitor: 4:3, covering the entire screen with a distorted image, or 16:9 which covers about 40% of the screen.

The most likely explanation I can think of is that the external monitor 4:3, I used in the past has left a kind of preference file in my computer which could not be changed, so he kept coming back to 4:3 instead of 16:9. I thought the problem might be the VGA - VGA cable, but this does not explain why I was unable to cover the entire screen on my external monitor with something other than a distorted picture.

Using the past because I was forced to buy a new laptop. As soon as I plugged on the external monitor, everything was perfect.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Absolutely!

You can use as many USB DVI adapters as you have USB ports available.

If you go beyond the number of USB ports on your laptop be sure and use external powered hubs USB This way you don't kill the chip southbridge by gong beyond current capacity.

  • How do I know if my laptop can run an external monitor as well as it's own screen

I try to run a presentation with powerpoint and want to know how to connect an external monitor. my laptop equipped with a port for it, but do not seem to recognize a screen when I try

Almost all laptops have this ability.  As a general rule, you must press the Fn key and one of the F keys to switch between the display of the computer laptop (1) use, (2) use the external screen, (3) use both.  See the User Guide for your laptop for more details.

In addition to telling the hardware of the laptop to send a signal to the screen external, you can probably configure which displayed on the external monitor (a copy of the laptop screen) or an extension of it by right clicking on an empty area of the desktop, select properties and then click the settings tab.

Finally, some applications (such as Powerpoint) have their own internal settings.  This is for Powerpoint 2003--> http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/presenter-view-tools-for-running-a-powerpoint-presentation-HA001056547.aspx

  • Help! The external speakers on HP G62-225dx laptop connection?

Sew I connect external speakers for laptop HP G62-225DX?  If so, connect to the port "headphones"?  Or do I need speakers with USB connectors? All recommended speakers Logitech?

    Hello fpcorpuz52,

I see that you have questions about the connection of the external speakers to your HP computer.

You should be able to connect the speakers to the headphone jack of the laptop. They work without having to do much or any installation or configuration.

With respect to the recommendation on the speakers, I have a preference to recommend. I would like to just check the reviews before you buy any game, if you plan to buy some.

    What image format you prefer?
You should buy a monitor with your favorite image format.

Generally speaking all the works according to the user manual and external monitor, your laptop supports up to 2048 horizontal and 1536 vertical pixels up to 16 m of colors on the external monitor.
