By connecting to a remote desktop at the top of the entire screen except the ip address so dark. Help!

I use my remote desk top. After entering the password ect. It puts me in but the screen is black. I can see the IP above, but there is no button to start or do anything. How can I fix this. Can someone please.

• Remote Desktop left the unlocked console session after I disconnect, - BAD!

Often, I connect to my Home PC, Windows XP Pro SP3 running to work. When I leave the House, the session is locked.

I recently discovered that when I disconnect from a remote desktop session, the computer is left * unlocked * even if I disconnect the session by locking the PC.

I'm fairly certain that it wasn't how things behave initially. This change with SP3?

Currently, I connect to work with a Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) machine, but there is this problem with my old laptop which ran from XP Pro SP3.

How can I stay locked to disconnect the console session?

END THE SESSION IS NOT AN OPTION. I have user programs that run in the session that must continue to run. I have need of the session is running, but locked.

Hello

In my case it was the full client of Teamviewer which is a problem, including a version earlier than 5.1.9385, when I upgraded to this one, the problem disappeared!

Now there's another question that should be checked, if you Live Mesh Beta (which runs on windows XP and not a new one which has no Vista/7), then there are chances that you have activated the Remote Desktop feature, you can find two devices under the 'View' node in the Device Manager named 'Live Mesh curtain Driver' and 'Live Mesh Mirror Driver. You can turn them off, restart and check if the problem persists.

A last suggestion if the above could not solve the problem is to update the drivers of network card in your machine.

I hope this helps.

• Remote Desktop in the network does not work

First time VPN newbie. I need to set up the vpn for a small company of friends using RV082 so, as a test, I put up here at home using a very basic configuration. The network topology looks like:

Cloud-online cable modem => RV082-online-online PC win7 DIR655

On a remote site, I launch QUICKVPN, enter the necessary data and connect. Setting up the Office remotely and put the IP address of my pc at home and the user name to logon and after a minute or two, he says "unable to connect to the computer" (or words to that effect). My home PC has been configured to allow remote desktop connections and this has happened in the past, but not since the installation of RV082. There is nothing in the logs of the PC, or in the newspapers of the RV082. What should be my line of inquiry?

Hello

Thus, Home Basic edition, and Home Premium edition are the same options as Business, Ultimate and Enterprise.

Basic and Premium "Remote Assistance" and the other three SKUS have full Remote Desktop. This is probably the question you are running in.

And the experience is different as well. You can however, is located on a computer Home Basic/Premium and connect by using "Remote Desktop" on a computer running Business, Ultimate and Enterprise. But not the other way around. You use Remote Assistance.

Remote Assistance allows a remote user to connect to your system via an 'Invitation '. You can search in Help and Support for Remote Assistance or Desktop FAQ good explanations.

Remote Desktop is designed so that you can connect to your computer remotely to work. This does not require an invitaion. Do not add users to a permissions list (essentially to be an Admiistrator or the remote user to group.)

It was really just a couple of things you need to put in place to communicate with office remotely to another computer... easily anyway.

(1) you are on the SAME network. Your count gets its IP address from the same server (DHCP) or in the same range of IPS 'assigned manually.

(2) you are in the same workgroup or domain. If this is not the case, this is complicated.

(3) you must go into the system properties and allow Remote Assistance (Basic and Premium) and/or business (Business, Ultimate) remote desktop

An Alternative to Remote Assistance is Windows Live Messenger. It has a nice little feature that allows you to do the same. It requires that a person on the remote computer send an invitation and accept the connection as much as Remote Assistance... a little against the goal... but clean enough little free app to fix someone's computer remotely.

I hope this helps

• M1536dnf - the installation program could not connect to your device. Check the IP address

I recently bought a LserJet Pro M1536dnf for my business, then we would have network printing and scanning. We have both Mac and Linux PC with a single machine Windows solitaire which is kept away from the network for his own protection, and I expect from Linux but this is not where the problem is. Due to our network configuration, the only way to connect to the printer is by IP, not not using Hello. When installing using the installer of HP on the Mac, I choose 'Add intellectual property arrangements', enter the IP (192.168.1.247) and click OK. After that, he always comes back 'the installer could not connect to your device. Check the IP address, make sure that the device is powered, and then try again. "I know I can get to the printer because I can access its web interface in Safari. I tried to reset, update firmware, reboots, power-off/power-on different computers, nothing works.

Curiously, I could add the printer very well on Ubuntu Linux computers and print immediately, although the scanner still doesn't work here. So my problem is on the Mac.

OK, I have now works. The HP installation program provided on the CD-ROM supplied with the printer does not work. After you download the new version of support.hp.com, I could successfully add the printer by IP address.

Also, just a quick note to all the world using Linux (although it is not officially supported by HP):

The printer works fine, using HPLIP, but requires at least version 3.11.1 to work. I had to add an additional to my linux installations software source to make it work.

Under Ubuntu 10.04/10.10, add:

PPA:hplip - isv/ppa

Other Linux distributions will be different, if you are having problems check to see how to install the latest version of HPLIP software.

• Keeps remote desktop abandon the connection

Hello

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 Windows 8. The main question that I have now with Windows 8, it is the remote desktop client is somehow broken for me. Whenever I use it, it blocks (i.e. I can't interact with the remote computer) and then I get the box of Pseudo-dialogue indicating reconnection it will reconnect and I return the remote access. He does it all the time (about every few minutes). Note that when I can't interact with the computer to remove it, I can still ping it very well. Clearly, it is not a connection problem.
It seems to be a problem with Microsoft Remote Desktop Client because I'm so tired, I tried 2 alternatives: terminals and mRemoteNG. Their use, never removes the connection.
However, I would like to use the Microsoft client as it is more convenient to use. I tried to copy some binary files from Windows XP or Windows 7, but they do not work properly when I try to run them, I guess it's more than a simple 'mstsc.exe' to copy (I copied c:\windows\system32\mstscax.dll thus, but it kept loading of Windows 8).
Anyone with a similar problem?
Thank you

• Remote Desktop error: the system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\ < LANG_NAME > \mstsc.exe.MUI

Came across an interesting problem this morning. After starting my PC from various applications (OutLook 2002, Management Studio of SQL Server 2008, etc.). I was able to connect to a server by using Remote Desktop (RDP, alias). On trying to connect to a second system, I started getting the following error message:

The system cannot find the specified file. C:\WINDOWS\system32\\mstsc.exe.MUI

Will always be connected to the server, I tried to launch a second instance using RDP, but received the same error message.

I googled the error and found different solutions (the best solution to examine ishttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/itproxpsp/thread/164d1e0b-51e6-4201-9dc2-3f4a0ccb14e5), however, none of the solutions seemed to work.

I tried checking the virus/malware, etc, but nothing was found. I tried to re - load the dll and the exe (s), but still not received the error message.

The next solution was to try to see what can be changed on my system (new programs, etc.). I noticed there is an update downloaded to my system (C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log): AutomaticUpdates content success install successful and Restart required for the following update: update for Windows XP (KB969084)... the update is related to remote desktop.

I rebooted the system, still not received the RDP error messages. Is I did a complete "install updates and shut down ', and then restarted my system that started working again.

For the record, here is some information on my system:

XP Professional: Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.091208 - 2036: Service Pack 3)

c:\windows\system32\mstsc.exe: 6.1.7600.16385

I wanted to just post this in case someone else runs into a similar problem...

Thank you!

I have a machine with the same problem

XP Professional: Version 5.1 (Build 2600

I installed the update for Windows XP (KB969084).

It does not, but a reboot is required because the system is running on the old dll

MSTSC.exe works now

Thanks for the info!

• Connection problems with remote desktop connection

Good somehow I try to connect to my remote friends computer and it has a windows 7 and I already configured on his computer. I already forwarded Ports on his computer, his static IP, added exception to the firewall, including Norton Internet Security Firewall 2013, so his remote desktop connection is good. But my computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium, but somehow, it wont let me connect it keeps telling in a dialog box with this error:

Say this 'Remote Desktop disconnected"
"Try to connect again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or the owner of the remote computer.

But it's is not my friends computer problem, its my computer, I would have never been able to use Remote Desktop on my computer, I have no idea why. I also configured with my router Embarq EQ 660 - R in the NAT rule SUA Port 3389 with my routers IP. But somewhere in my firewall, it doesn't let me use the same TCP 3389 port, it won't let me enter any number of his strange. Well, I have the screen shot a photo so I'll attach the image so you can see what I mean. But I already have my friends computer sent a static router IP configured on him and on his router port everything worked fine, but the problem is mine, don't let me not the port before my router only if I use the NAT option and entering into the rule of SUA, in which I made with port 3389 , and my default gateway static IP. I also added an exception to my Windows Firewall and also my Norton Internet Security firewall, 2013 including the application, but still somehow, it does not work. On my router, if I try to put the port range: 3389 to 3389. Added the name of Service like RDP, Type of Service: TCP. Also, I made my public computer static IP a little go. A how's my friends computer it works

Thanks I would really appreciate it
