Extract PDF Pages based on content
Every fall and winter, I have to work with PDF files are hundreds of pages. Last fall, I came across a java script that I was able to run and it worked perfectly. Last year, I lost more than brain cells or acrobat dc does not work just like acrobat x. I need to find a way to extract the pages based on a word search and save these pages in another file. I would like suggestions. Also, I added the java script that was used last year. Thanks in advance for your help.
Iterates over all the pages and find a given string and all extracts
the pages on which this string is found in a new file.
pageArray var = [];
var stringToSearchFor = 'Total ';
for (variety p = 0; p < this.numPages; p ++) {}
iterate over all of the words
for (var n = 0; n < this.getPageNumWords (p); n ++) {}
If (this.getPageNthWord (p, n) == stringToSearchFor) {}
pageArray.push (p);
break;
}
}
}
If (pageArray.length > 0) {}
extract all pages that contain the string in a new document
var d = app.newDoc (); This will add a blank page, remove that once we are done
for (var n = 0; n < pageArray.length; n ++) {}
d.insertPages ({}
nPage: d.numPages - 1,.
cPath: this.path,.
Start: pageArray [n].
nEnd: pageArray [n].
} );
}
delete the first page
d.deletePages (0);
}
I guess you are running the script as an Action in Acrobat XI (as described in my blog). You can do the same in Acrobat DC. Just download again the GL ENTRY file (here: extract of Pages PDF-based content - KHKonsulting LLC)-then make sure that the file name is ExtractPagesWithString.sequ (when I download the file using Safari on a Mac, it will add .xml to the end - in this case, just rename the file so that it has the .sequ extension once again). Now you should be able to drag & drop the file on the new Acrobat DC icon or in the application window. You should get get a confirmation dialog box (or two). Once the Action is imported, you should be able to run it. To find the interface Actions, type 'Action' in the Acrobat search toolbar. You will find that in the top of the pane and right at the top of the collection of tools when you click on tools on the left side of the Acrobat window, or you can try to find the wizard 'Action' on the Tools page and click on it. You can now run the Action on one or more files, but still just, it will search the string that I put in the code. To change this. Select this option to change the Action. Suppose that you click the Action Wizard on the Tools page. You should now see the following:
Click on the button "Manage Actions" and select "Extract Pages with String" then click on the button "Edit":
The next thing you will see is this:
When you click on 'Execute JavaScript', this follow-up activity will be expanded and will look like this:
Make sure 'Interrogate the user' is checked.
Now, you can save your modified Action. When you run the Action, you can see the JavaScript editor pop up:
You can now change the variable "stringToSearchFor" and set it to any string of text you want to search or split the document to.

Automate the process of extracting specific page of the PDF document
Example: 10 pages PDF > user opens the PDF to page 1, on this page, there is a form field > user enters '3' in the field and select a "submit" button.
Here's the question: can the submit button Activate a script/action to extract the page 3 of the document and allow the user to record a new PDF of just page 3?
Of course, it is possible. Copy the following code excerpt page 3 to a new (temporary) file:
this.extractPages ({start: 2, nEnd: 2});
Note that the page numbers are zero-based.
Of course, this will work in Acrobat, not in the free player.

extract a page of a pdf document
Hi all
When you try to do, I was redirected to a page where I have to buy the CD of the acrobat reader.
I logged
the system recognized that I already had the right product.
sent to check the product options.
did not find any option I could do something.
I am here.
What to do...?
Kind regards
Hey [email protected],
In order to retrieve a page of the PDF file, you will need to use Adobe Acrobat (free software) and not Acrobat Reader (free software).
You can simply open the thumbnail view on the left side, right click on any thumbnail of the page and select 'Extract the Pages' option to retrieve page (s) from the PDF file.
Let me know if you be able to do the same thing or not.
Kind regards

How to enlarge the size of the content on a PDF page
Hello
I have a PDF page which is miniaturized and I want to extend it to a full 8.5x11inches in order to print it and see it to normal size.
Page PDF, itself, is on a page of 8.5 x 11 at this moment, but the content has become narrowed so that it occupies less than half of the current page. Obviously, I can zoom in on the content and see it, but if I try to print, the content is shrunken, I can barely see it.
If I had to open the PDF file in Photoshop, I could use the crop tool and the support of content currently reduced to the standard letter page size, but I was wondering if it was somehow possible in Acrobat 9 Pro?
Thus, the content can be expanded?
(Sorry for the bad explanation)
Thanks for any help.
Phil
You can crop, but the size does not change to the letter. However, after cropping, you can print with grow to fit the selected page. If you want, you can increase this to a new PDF with print, although not generally recommended approach. You have an idea how it was reduced in the first place? If so, have you tried the reverse process?

MASSIVE... PDF extraction of pages remain same file size
Hi all.. I tried this but I can't find the answer, I need, hope that there can help!
We have a PDF we provided by a customer that was created in a program of open source Page layout... Its 100 pages and weighs a muscular 1.15 GB. Its pretty complex nestled in places, consisting of text, images and graphics.
As it is, his putting to death of taxation and 3 rips software we tried to put it well.
We thought we could extract the pages as single files, or split the document down into manageable portions, but when we do that the files remain at a constant 1.15 GB even as simple pages.
Why is this? and how can we stop?
Because it's a PDF provided, we don't really want to go down the road of file size reduction as this may compromise the quality of the pictures (its bad enough for now!).
Or would you say that we should be able to maintain the quality of the current image while sorting complex illustrations, transparency, and the issue of size?
Cheers in advance!
Tom
Thank you... Pre-series flattening of transparency in the optimizer sorted! He fell up to half, and then extracting Page gave me single page PDF files into single page PDF formats!

Extract multiple PDF pages - Javascript.
Hello
Relatively new to javascript in acrobat but have managed use a slightly modified script (below) of this Web site to run a batch script in acrobat professional to extract all pages in a multi page PDF. The only problem I have is that, as with javascript, infact 1 page numbered as page 0. Is it possible to modify this script to extract pages from the numbering as page 1? I know this is probably a fairly basic solution, but any help would be greatly appericated.
Thanks in advance!
/ * Extract Pages to the file * /.

To answer your question, you just need to change it to i (i + 1), like this

cPath: filename + '-' + (x + 1) + ".pdf".

How cut a PDF paginated in two several PDF Pages in the same Document?
I had a single, paginated Document PDF which must be extended with the same content as summarized on page 2.
The PDF is interactive / writable.
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed in the company.
What are the options I have:
(1) add a second page or
(2) pull the long page and divide it into two pages
(3)... maybe another option?
Thanks in advance for your help.
The following example is an order page 2 page. He was fallible form fields. Each page has field name that has the same value on each page. There are lines of fields which are quantity, description, price and values extended and each field is named only by a number of basic suffix zero. The second page has a subtotal field that summarizes the value of each line on each page. The expanded field and subtotal field are calculated using document level scripts that calculate the field name using the extended calculation field name to get the prefix (page number) and the suffix (line number) to get the quantity and price, necessary to calculate fields.
This form is based on the pages generated using a template, and use the same code to calculate the pages based on a page having pioneered. This isn't a draft form for beginners, because it uses functions to perform repeated actions or calculations and calculates the exact name of the fields to use in the calculations of the domain name for the calculation script. More information is contained in Acrobat JavaScript QAnywhere and JavaScript reference Mozilla.

Link to a pdf page on the web from a chm file
Hello
I use RoboHelp 9.0.2. I'm trying to create a link in a chm file to a specific pdf page by using a URL. The link that I use is http://www.actuarialstandardsboard.org/pdf/exposure/ASOP_No27_second%20exposure_2011.pdf#p age = 41
I put the line above in my chm file. It appears correctly in the project URL list and display correctly when I choose the show. It appears to be correct also in the HTML code of the page.
However when I create chm by clicking on the link brings me just the beginning of the pdf file. After you click the link in the chm file and Explorer opens, the URL in the browser does not display #page = 41. She finished at.pdf.
Did I miss something or someone kno why it does not work?
Thank you
John
Hello
This link does not work for me when I paste it into the address bar of my Firefox browser. It does not work in Internet Explorer but not in Firefox. In Firefox, it opens the PDF file generically.
I tested in a CHM and he did try and link, but it presents a black page. Looks like the page, but it is blackened.
CHM files are based on elements of Internet Explorer to display their content. So maybe, it's something specific to a certain version of Internet Explorer, but also a certain version of Acrobat Reader.
See you soon... Rick

How to allow the extraction of pages in the preview for a PC user?
For some time I produced PDF files in MS Word and Pages that I put together in a newsletter. I just got a request from a subscriber asking me to allow extraction of page so that it can record the pages he'd like to keep. It seems that he uses a PC. First, I checked the properties of my PDF files and found that they are in fact all together for "Page Extraction: unauthorized." I then checked Preview Help and found nothing about extraction allowing pages. Anyone know how I can help this user of PC?
Installing CutePDF in Windows allows Windows users extract individual pages of a PDF file. There is a free version.

I have problems with the CBC links when I create a new page from a template DWT. I hope someone can help me. Here's what I did.
- I copied an HTML page to a new site that I have created (1 Site) to an existing (Site 2) as well as all the images needed site and the CSS files.
- I edited the CBC code so that page copied to Site 2 (New Page) referenced the correct local CSS and image files
- I created a template the Page new DWT file in Site 2 but noted that the CBC links were still referencing image and CSS of the Site 1 files, so I edited this new as shown above.
- I created a new page, based on the model of TPL, but strangely, the CBC links are again referencing Site 1.
I don't understand what is happening. DW is clearly still remember the original links and ignores changes.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Gary
When I need to come a file from another site, here's what I do.
Go to Site 1. Open the file in Design view or Code view. Turn off Live View.
Go to Site 2. File > save as new_filename.html in the root directory of the Site 2.
DW should invite you to update the links. Press YES.
Close the Site 1 file.
Check the file links 2 Site to ensure that they document.
Validate code & solve the errors reported.
When you are completely satisfied with your document, click file > save as template.
DW will ask you to insert editable regions for content that changes from one page to another. To do this and save your template.
Close the model.
File > new > Site Template Page.
Press the button create.
SaveAs index.html (your home page).
Repeat for other pages of the site.

Pages based on the recognized but not secondary model updated
I have DW CC. I do minor changes to the names on the bars of subnavigation on templates. When I record, change is recognized and asks me if I want to update pages based on this template, and lists all the. I updated. The next area is LOOK IN: [auto filled in the correct Sub model], MODELS of UPDATE is enabled, and this appears:

the files that could not be updated: 0

I get this same result for all secondary models. I tried other ways to update and did not work.

The page that you have demonstrated is linked to the toplevel.dwt' as can be checked on your first line of code, namely
Template="/templates/toplevel.dwt".
Any changes you want to make to your document are possible only in the said model.
I've never used nested models and I would strongly encourage you to do the same, they are very difficult to maintain.
Better to use server side includes (SSI) SSI as by SSI: the command Include or, if you are using PHP, PHP 5 include and require
As a side note, it is advisable to provide a type of document at the beginning of the document. See here the HTML doctype declaration

The value "allow Page Break in content" during the execution
Hello
Some can help me setting the subform/table property "Allow Page Break in content" with javascript? I have a repeating table in a form and want only long tables to break after a certain height. Simple question but I guess that the answer is not. Cannot find anything whatsoever after searching for several days.
Thank you
Arvind
Hi Arvind,
I don't think you can set the page break in content 'allow' with JavaScript. If you set allow a page break in the content on your table, and then you could add a subform that causes a page if the table is small enough to fit on the next page.
You'd have to do in the event layout ready and update form in the ready layout structure can cause that it become desensitized because it weakens the event fires again. This means that you must be careful to remember what caused the event.
In any case, here is an example that should help you get started. https://sites.Google.com/site/livecycledesignercookbooks/home/ForcePageThrow.PDF?attredire cts = 0 & d = 1
Take a look at the layout event code: loan Subform1.

Export unique PDF pages to InDesign after the data merge
So I got this hitch with my last job that I can't move.
I'm generating nearly 700 labels of bag with the help of the data fusion which is each in their own PDF file with a unique file name.
My current process is:
- Open my file in InDesign.
- Data merge all labels like "creating a merged document.
- Run a script that does some minor changes and then automatically add bookmarks based on a paragraph style.
- Export a single pdf file containing all the labels.
Now, that's the thing that I meet. Initially, I thought open the PDF in acrobat and then divide the file based on the bookmark names - that works very well. However, I also need convert the text to outlines text, then the fonts don't get replaced by our supplier in China (long story). Ideally, I discovered Acrobat can do it himself, but unfortunately it can not be used for several single paged pdf files in the Action Wizard. If I vectorize the text before you split the pdf file, the bookmark naming convention does not seem to work...
I thought that this might work, but if there was a script that could export PDFs page of InDesign itself and use the paragraph style name. And then I could put just a pdf preset to underline the text. I can't find anything like those well...
So there's my pickle. I would be grateful for your suggestions!
Thanks in advance!
An any other Acrobat Pro script may be worth a try if you want to split based on. CSV:
/* https://forums.adobe.com/message/5551746 */ var CSV = function(data) { var _data = data.split('\r\n'); for(var i in _data) { if(_data[i].length > 0) { console.println(i + ' ' + _data[i]); _data[i] = _data[i].split(','); } } var _head = _data.shift(); return { length: function() { return _data.length - 1; }, getRow: function(row) { return _data[row]; }, getRowAndColumn: function(row, col) { if(typeof col !== 'string') { return _data[row][col]; } else { col = col.toLowerCase(); for(var i in _head) { if(_head[i].toLowerCase() === col) { return _data[row][i]; } } } } }; }; this.importDataObject("CSV Data"); var dataObject = this.getDataObjectContents("CSV Data"); var csvData = new CSV(util.stringFromStream(dataObject)); if(this.numPages != csvData.length()) { app.alert("Number of pages & CSV row count inconsistent"); } else { for(var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i++) { this.extractPages({nStart: i, cPath: csvData.getRowAndColumn(i, 'PartnerHQ_Id') + '.pdf'}); } }
Note that the column header is supposed to be (this can of course be changed on line 41 of the script code):
PartnerHQ_Id
PartnerHQ_Id

How the output voltage is coded on 16 bits DAQmx devices?
In our laboratory, we have two devices DAQmx, the NOR-PCIe-6363 and the NOR-PCI-6733. Both have 16-bit for bipolar analog output precision. I understand that the small voltage difference that can be made is 2 * Vref/2 ^ 16, where Vref is the referenc
