MASSIVE... PDF extraction of pages remain same file size

Hi all.. I tried this but I can't find the answer, I need, hope that there can help!

We have a PDF we provided by a customer that was created in a program of open source Page layout... Its 100 pages and weighs a muscular 1.15 GB. Its pretty complex nestled in places, consisting of text, images and graphics.

As it is, his putting to death of taxation and 3 rips software we tried to put it well.

We thought we could extract the pages as single files, or split the document down into manageable portions, but when we do that the files remain at a constant 1.15 GB even as simple pages.

Why is this? and how can we stop?

Because it's a PDF provided, we don't really want to go down the road of file size reduction as this may compromise the quality of the pictures (its bad enough for now!).

Or would you say that we should be able to maintain the quality of the current image while sorting complex illustrations, transparency, and the issue of size?

Cheers in advance!

Tom

Thank you... Pre-series flattening of transparency in the optimizer sorted! He fell up to half, and then extracting Page gave me single page PDF files into single page PDF formats!

See you soon

    XDCAM is 35 Mbps flow, at least the 4:2:0 version. If you must provide XDCAM, you have some options, but it may consider sending a HARD drive to your customer. Otherwise, you will need to change the output to H.264 format and reduce the size by reducing the speed of transmission.

    When I crop an image in LR5, it severely reduces the size of the file so that my clients are not able to print their pictures in larger sizes.  Is it possible that I can prevent this, as when I get to the PS?

    In my view, is not the size of the file that makes the non-printable picture, it's the cropping or export settings, which makes the non-printable picture. You do a huge amount of cropping? You resize to export? Please give us the details. Please tell us the size of the picture exported in pixels (width and height). Please tell us what size (what size paper) is printing will be.

    The file size is a relatively empty sense information, and it would be wise to ignore it. It is more likely your actions (cropping or resizing during export) which causes the problem of the photo being non-printable.  I say, don't look at the size of the file, do not try to reach a file size, do not try to determine how to increase the size of the file... instead, make sure you use the right export settings and harvest size.

  • Balloons of file size of 20KO to 1.2 MB after you add form fields

    Hi all

    I have a Word document that I export to PDF using the Acrobat addons to the Ribbon bar. When I do this, it generates a ~ 20KB PDF. Then I went and added five text fields and about ~ 20 lines of JavaScript to control. After I do save slot, PDF 1.2 Mo balloons... How can I fix?

    I have an embeded in the word for the logo EPS file, but it embeded get-fine from Word to PDF at the start, so I think that's not the problem. I thought fonts since I changed it Arial, so I changed to Helvetica and it remains the same. What Miss me? Oh, the PDF is saved in the smallest file size, PDF 1.7.

    Thanks in advance!

    What fonts do you use for fields? If you use something other than the built-in fonts (aka base-14), Acrobat incorporates the entire police and some fonts are rather large. In particular, do not use a font like Arial or similar to one of the built-in fonts.

  • When lowering pixels of resolution of a video, the file size becomes smaller...

    Hello!

    My question is this:

    I am importing a tiff of scope (2048 X 858) 2K sequence in Premiere Pro CC 2015.

    When I go to the export section, as you can see in this video link:

    First Pro CC 2015 (resolution size) export settings - YouTube

    and try to lower the resolution 2048 X 858, 5 X 2 or 854 X 480 or 1280 X 536! the size of the file remains the same! Is this possible?

    This means that if I have a 4K video and a video card, they will have exactly the same file size!

    I tried to make a sequence of low resolution and drop tiff sequence and adjustment of the sequence in the image of low resolution tiff, but I have the same problem.

    I've even nested sequence of high-resolution sequence of lower resolution, but... Nothing...

    Does this make sense? What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you!

    Yiannis

    Yiannis, Yes. Unlike a photo, a video, the file size is determined by the data rate. However, the data/flow isn't what determines quality, you need to consider in the codec you use.

    For example, a 50 Mbit/s, 720 x 480 H.264 file and a 50 Mbps DV (video only, forgetting the audio codecs) will be exactly the same size. but the H.264 file is going to be better because it's a step more coded with a better compression algorithm.

    Another factor that determines the size of the file is the frame rate. I'm not saying that you should drop your rate to save space, but know that if you save 2 files with the same exact settings, but we're 30 p or 25 p and the other is 50 p or 60 p, then the latter will be twice as large.

    -Extract all data from a single file can be done via the tools - forms - more form Options - export data...

    -Extract some data from a single file will require a script to measure.

    -Extract all the data from multiple fields in a single file can be done via the tools - forms - more form Options - merge data files into spreadsheet...

    -Extraction of data from several files will require a script Custom Action, as I've written before.

  • extract a page of a pdf document

    Hi all

    When you try to do, I was redirected to a page where I have to buy the CD of the acrobat reader.

    I logged

    the system recognized that I already had the right product.

    sent to check the product options.

    did not find any option I could do something.

    I am here.

    What to do...?

    Kind regards

    Hey [email protected],

    In order to retrieve a page of the PDF file, you will need to use Adobe Acrobat (free software) and not Acrobat Reader (free software).

    You can simply open the thumbnail view on the left side, right click on any thumbnail of the page and select 'Extract the Pages' option to retrieve page (s) from the PDF file.

    Let me know if you be able to do the same thing or not.

    Kind regards

  • Extract pages from the file and rename it

    I have a combined file I need to divide into separate files. But I can't make this work for the 2 pages. Let me give you some background. I have a pdf file with lets say 10 pages that I need to enter the 5 files (F1, F2, F3, F4, F5).  The below script returns 5 files well appointed, but the offbeat or in some cases duplicated content. For example: F1 would have Pages 1 and 2; F2 would be pages 3 and 4, F3 would have 4 and 5; F4 would have 6 and 7; F5 would be pages 8 and 9.  I'm generalizing here, but the bottom line is that pages get somewhat biased ultimately. Thoughts anyone?

    / * to extract 2 page PDF of main file, insert the file names in the first line between the brackets.

    var filename is ["F1", "F2", "F3", "F4" F5",];.

    f or (var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i ++)

    this.extractPages({)

    Start: i, nEnd: i + 1.

    cPath: filename [i] + ".pdf".

    });

    Nevermind I solved it! Thank you so much everyone!  Here is the final solution:

    Fixed Script:

    / * for the extraction of 2 page PDF, insert the file names in the first line between the brackets.

    var filename = ["1",

    « 2 »,

    « 3 »,

    « 4 »,

    "5",];

    for (var i = 0, j = 0; i< this.numpages;="" i+="2" ,="">

    this.extractPages({)

    Start: i, nEnd: i + 1.

    cPath: filename [j] + ".pdf".

    });

    Hello

    Can you give me the steps to convert my pdf or ppt slides Indesign layout files.

    Thank you

    If you use the file PDF.

    First of all - new Fund document in InDesign. Dimensions (width and height) must be the same as your PDF file size

    Them just go to the file menu and choose the command import (CTRL + D), and then in the dialog, check Show import options, and click OK.

    In the next window, choose the page/pages import options - confirm it and

    Simply click on a left upper corner of your page page PDF (import) in InDesign. You can also drag PDFs on your InDesign page.

    If you need the tool Selection (arrow V) - black you can adjust the position of the imported file.

    If you need more pages - use Panel Page (F12 or window > Pages) and add as many pages as you need

    Repeat the process if you need to add pages

    PDF files in this case are threaded as images - you can not change the

  • Automate the process of extracting specific page of the PDF document

    Example: 10 pages PDF > user opens the PDF to page 1, on this page, there is a form field > user enters '3' in the field and select a "submit" button.

    Here's the question: can the submit button Activate a script/action to extract the page 3 of the document and allow the user to record a new PDF of just page 3?

    Of course, it is possible. Copy the following code excerpt page 3 to a new (temporary) file:

    this.extractPages ({start: 2, nEnd: 2});

    Note that the page numbers are zero-based.

    Of course, this will work in Acrobat, not in the free player.

  • Printing more than one page in a single PDF file size

    Hi there, some background everything first: I have a Mac with Mac OS 10.9.5, and I am trying to print from Adobe Reader v11.0.10 PDF files that contains pages with various page formats (some pages are letter, other legal size) in the same document. I have a printer Brother Laser (HL-6180DW) which has several trays and a tray for each paper size.

    The printer can automatically can print documents containing multiple pages with different paper sizes for the for the paper tray right when I use Microsoft Word to print. However, if I have a PDF file and you try to print from Adobe Reader, all pages come out like 8 x 11. I selected the option in the reader print dialog that says "Paper Source to choose the PDF page size" but this does not seem to make a difference. However this same document on a windows 8.1 uses the same version of Adobe Reader and print to the same printer, prints the document with the different paper sizes automatically if I select this option to print. I tried this same test with 3 or 4 different PDF files from different sources, and the results are always the same - works on the PC, does not work on Mac. Would appreciate any ideas on how to make this work the Mac.

  • A pdf file exported from InDesign, but displays various error messages when the same file is downloaded on the same laptop from the company's Web site

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with a pdf file created for my business. It exports without problems and displays correctly on my computer, but once it is transferred to the Web site and you download from here, pages randomly displayed not correctly, images and pieces of text go missing and different "internal error" messages pop up, such as:

    "An internal error has occurred."

    "There is an error on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the pdf document to correct the problem.

    "Failed to retrieve the embedded police"LICYDR + GaramondMT". Some characters may not display or print correctly.
    "Insufficient for an image.

    And when I close the pdf file it asks if I want to save even if I did not bring any changes to the document. It seems that everyone has problems with pages and receive different error messages. It is exported using the smallest file size preset in InDesign. Any idea what could be the cause? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    One thing to check is if BINARY is used in the FTP client. If a client FTP ASCII is used, it may corrupt PDF files.

    Here's another thing to check yourself for you. Find the size in bytes of your original PDF. Now, look at the size of the uploaded file in bytes. Are they the same? If this is not the case, ask your colleague the size in bytes of the PDF file on the server. Is this the same as the original, or bad file?
