    Hello

    The ASR (automated system recovery) tool must have a disk for restoration purposes. The best option, if you really want to use ASR, is a floppy of USB external as suggested by chrisamiller.

    You can also follow this procedure to create the ASR files without the floppy drive and then copy them to another location to create a floppy disk or, if you're lucky, your PC can boot from a USB key (I never tried to start ASR on a key, do not know if it will work or not, but it might be worth it) :

    "You can"trick"the ASR in the race without a floppy drive." When it gets to the point where he writes on the diskette to cancel it. He writes two files, which are used for recovery, in the Windows\Repair directory. After completing your ASR copy these two files (files asr.sif and asrpnp.sif) to a network location and then make the diskette also. Make sure you update your disk whenever you make a new ASR or your backup will be watered.

    Or, you can use a USB floppy drive. It is sometimes the only option, especially if you need to install SCSI or SATA drivers during the recovery. »

    a: when you start the backup, it may be in Wizard mode. Follow the link to the Advanced Mode.
    b. Backup tab.
    c. click on the box next to the drive you want to back up so that it has a blue box.
    d. backup media or file name: Browse.
    e. Select a new file name on your CD.
    f. start the backup.

    Hi mikhailv6888620 https://forums.adobe.com/people/mikhailv6888620>!

    Welcome to the forum!

    as I know there is no C API function for this.

    You can get the ID of the layer comp element and use AEGP_ExecuteScript() to find

    This point and change the source of the layer with the javascript API. (I do it

    as follows in one of my plug-ins)

    the text of this script is entirely internal in your plug-in. the user

    does not know that a call to java is involved... (if that matters to you)

  • HP G71-340US recovery of the system using a new smaller hard drive (SSD)

    I replaced the hard drive on an HP G71-340US notebook with a Solid State Drive (240 GB).  The original drive (who did not) was a 320 GB drive.

    I tried to perform the Reovery of system using the recovery disks that I created when I bought the laptop.  However, the only option enabled when you are trying to restore is 'Factory Reset'.  When I choose this option, the recovery process may not continue his run as "... the hard drive of this computer is smaller than the original shipped hard disk.

    Is there a way I can go beyond that?  Any suggestions/help would be most appreciated!

    Thank you!

    HP System normal recoveries do not usually work on smaller hard disks. You may need to use a spinner legacy 320 GB hard drive and more capacity to perform the Factory image restore and then make a migration of data to the SSD. It is unfortunate that you chose to change for one SSD after the original spinner hard drive has failed.

    With SSDS, in particular the best method is to use a upgrade kit or data migration kit.

    A data migration kit consists of software cloning and a usb to SATA cable. The USB to SATA cable connect the SSD to the usb port of the laptop for the cloning process that is part of the migration of the data.

    The software provided by manufacturers such as Samsung and Corsair SSD are usually able to transfer all of the operating system and on a smaller hard disk partitions.

  • HP Pavilion g6-2298nr: when HP Recovery is not available... the system using Windows 8 as image backup?

    I would like to start with a big shout out to Paul T for his VERY useful thread here!

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-systems-and-software/Windows-8-product-key-for-pavil...

    Family of a friend asked me to work on their laptop, because I know more about computers they do... they are people very well, was happy to help out, but true to form, like many PC users, they did not bother keeping the documentation provided with the laptop (HP Pavilion g6-2298nr), or they bother to burn recovery using HP DVD built in recovery software which is comes standard on laptops... If I am interpreting what HP's Web Site had to say about the laptop model HP Pavilion g6-2298nr, correctly, she is the serial number it is no longer eligible for free technical support and I have to pay a fee just to talk to someone and to order recovery of the HP DVD (family friend bought in Dec 2014 so it seems REALLY odd that I wouldn't be able to just order) DVD recovery without having to pay tech support a tax just to ask to order the recovery DVD!  .. But anyway...) ...

    Where was the product key "integrated" in the BIOS really comes in handy!   I crossed my fingers, used the method mentioned in the thread linked above, and it worked!   ... have to admit it was a bit strange at first, do not use the product key sticker like the old days, but I can see how it works better in the long term - helps prevent piracy, you don't have to worry if someone who do not realize the importance of product keys thumbnail it takes off and he throws...

    Unfortunately, it seems that when you reinstall Windows in this way, you lose the HP Backup and Recovery program ... in this case my friend family had the misfortune to pay someone to repair this laptop which has not bothered to tell them "Hey, I replaced the hard drive that goes wrong but if you don't get a laptop cooler for this sucker to the laptop just going to overheat again." ... of course, the money they paid what we call 'tech technician' who went down draining when the laptop fried a second drive hard, or maybe the tech them faced with a bad hard drive, who knows? (technology bought a hard drive OEM off ebay)...

    ... Sorry to sound harsh about this type of technology, I must confess I only worked in the field of PC repair for a few months more than a decade before letting him make a stay-at-home-dad (wife is a pharmacist so I'm lucky enough to be able to stay at home) so my experience is VERY limited compared to other people... but the back then I have always treated my customers the way I would treat a friend , and if it's a friend of you offer advice on the prevention of such problems in the future... this laptop gets HOT like you wouldn't, I seated him on a very reliable laptop cooler (slab thickness of aluminium which does a great job as a radiator with the fans, this one)

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16834953038

    "(and I left my friend's family know in no uncertain terms that they need to order this laptop cooler if they use this laptop...).

    Replace hard drive, I installed seems to work very well, but of course it is not an "official WD hard drive"... when I tried to install the software of cyberdirector photolink for example on the link below, received an error message "this is not a WD hard drive so cannot install this software"...

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-G6-2200-notebook-PC-series/5296082/model...

    that is fine I really don't think my friend family cares about this program... but it makes me wonder, even if I did trust the download at this link below

    http://www.TechSpot.com/downloads/5190-HP-backup-and-Recovery-Manager.html

    If program HP Backup and Recovery manager would work even first because it is not an official hard drive WD (I also ordered a hard drive OEM off ebay .. but does not support the family of my friend for the drive hard because they were good for my munchkins and did not want to pay through the nose for a more expensive hard drive so of course I tried to minimize my own...)... I also think the type of program is based on a "C" and "D" drive is set up as if it were when the laptop comes with the original hard drive and saves a copy of the backup on the disk "D"... I guess I could use disk management to create a different partition, label it "D" and see if HP Backup and Recovery work, but it seems a bit... questionable... not to mention that I feel uncomfortable to download something that is not directly on the HP Web site as an "official"... download

    I know that Windows 8 has a utility of 'image system' built-in that allows you to do exactly that... an image of the system... as I said my friend family is good people, but I'm guessing that sooner or later they're going to screw up this laptop by pulling again as do many users of the computer... it would be nice if I could burn a system image of what is on the laptop now on DVD and hang on, then when they come back to me screaming in the future ' help, laptop does not work yet! I can just restore the system image on DVD instead of having to go through the hassle of reinstalling Windows, graphics/audio/drivers etc., zillion Windows updates and an etc. all over again.

    What I was asking, that is... would this even work?    I have never tried to use the image of the system in a situation like this with the product being key ' built in ' BIOS, this kind of thing is brand new to... worth me burning the DVDs and hung their just in case where?

    Sorry for the long essay and thanks in advance to anyone who actually takes the time to read all this!

    Hello:

    Yes, which makes a system image will work.  I do it all the time.

    PC GE set up the way you want and make the image of the system and the usb drive recovery you'll need access to the system image, or you can use W8 OEM disk made you (via the menu to repair your computer at the bottom left of the screen install Windows when you start from the DVD) to boot from, and access to the system image.

    If you have the DVD you have to more than one.  Probably not less than 4.

    But as much as to try to submeter a recovery partition, which is not going to work.

    I am very surprised that you cannot order a set of recovery discs HP online at the link below, last line labeled order recovery media.  Some people have reported trying to enter information such as the serial number and the link is dead.  But nothing venture nothing have nothing.

  • On reboot, the system using old registry keys

    When I restart my system, it uses some old registry settings. The desktop resolution, background and the old file locations are adjusted to the same settings, regardless of what I put it at the stop. for example, if I change the resolution of 1600 X 1200 or 800 X 600 or any other parameter, the next time I reboot, it is up to 1280 X 1024 (my material is sufficient for resolutions). Even on the files. If I copy / paste a file in a different directory, at the next startup, the file already exists in the old directory as well. But I am able to add new files to any folder.

    I suspect that some malware changed some registry keys. Please tell me if my guess is correct and solution, as appropriate.

    Thank you.

  • When you try to restore the system using the system image, Windows 7 does not find the USB HDD.

    I have 3 computers backed up with their images of system on an external USB drive.

    However, when you try to restore a computer using system image, Windows 7 fails to find the USB HDD.

    I think it would be probably due to the fact that the WindowsImageBackup folder is probably not in the right place or a superfluous folder. Here's an example of how my disk backup has arranged record...

    Root for example E: /.

    -MediaID (file)

    I realize that the WindowsImageBackup folder should be at the origin, so I moved this computer folder #1 a less E:\

    However, restoration is unable to find it and can't even see the USB HDD.

    Can anyone offer advice on what I can hurt?

    Original title: restore the System Image

    Thank you all for responding with your advice and suggestions but the failure has been a bit of my doing (?).

    When I went to another port for the USB, everything worked fine! Simple solution, that I should have tried first - duh! :-)

    My USB 3.0 4TB drive was originally on a port USB 3 (which was either missing or not recognized by my Bios) and when I changed my old disk ports USB 2, everything has worked well!

    Thanks again, all...

  • Restore the system using Windows 7 and IE 11

    I used to be able to choose the date available for the restoration of the system.  But now I only get the current date.  What I need is a date that precedes the problem. In other words, how can I get a date that is available.

    I tried some of your suggestions, but did not succeed. Even tried the "restoration of the system for Dummies" suggestion

    As mentioned, I am on Windows 7, IE 11.

    Your help will be appreciated.

    Corsair 50

    In the system restore if the "show more" is checked, and none are not, then your restore points have all been reset and were lost.

    These problems can be caused by using third party maintenance utilities, of the type that is supposed to cure all problems

  • Two questions relating to the signature using restricted code API: s

    First question

    I have a library that contains classes that requires the signature in order to use API:s. limited one of the functions in the library uses "persistent storage". My application accesses the library import library module, then instanciates and calls the function that I need.

    Is it enough to have signed library or don't call asking the library must sign too?

    Second question

    Is it possible to configure the simulator so it actually tests that the modules using API: s limits are signed correctly?

    Check the Simulator definition "activate the safety of the device. When this setting is enabled, the Simulator checks would be signatures almost like a true pocket computer. For your application, which should be pretty good. If your module is missing a required signature, the simulated Pocket will complain even as would a normal hand.

  • Cannot restore the system using CD Toshiba

    I have a damaged serial port. It is disconnected/drawn / deleted my BIOS. When you restore from cd win98, starts in safe mode. serial port causes this. If I once more turn it off and start the computer normally, it boots OK BUT then goes in systematically auto display "new hardware found and crashes."
    Issue. How can I start machine but stop windows goes into automatic routine of new material. In my innocense, I guess that windows would not look for material that has been removed from the bios.
    Help. my laptop is unusable on windows at the moment (Linux installs and runs ok), with the exception of serial port.

    Hi Alvey,

    I don't think that it is possible to prevent the new hardware detection during his processing of loading Windows. It is a fundamental part of the design of the system required to support the 'Plug and Play' concept of Windows.

    I think that your only real option is to get your serial port set so that your system starts normally.

  • The OIF using Enterprise Manager - metadata configuration expiry date

    I'm trying to set up the OIF for the integration of the OAM - OIF and talk to our identity provider. We are a customer of Fusion HCM hosted on request.

    Here are the steps to go to the screen

    Enterprise Manager right click on OIF > Administration > Security and trust > metadata provider > Generate

    Currently, the number of days is limited to no more than 120 days. We would replace the metadata of all file 120 days in IdP system. Follow us a process of pretty eloborate for PDI system changes so I wanted to know is there a way to allow metadata to be valid for more than 120 days (say 1 year or 2 years something that most of the other SP's)

    We are on OOD hosted implementation of the HCM, so we have full access to the intermediate layer OIF/OIM/OAM, then I'll be okay if you can tell me where the new metadata file is stored so that I can change to be valid for more than 120 days.

    Thank you
    David

    Published by: user535400 on May 20, 2013 11:17

    The expiration of metadata is not configurable. It is set to 120 days to encourage the suppliers approved SAML periodically check and make sure that their local copy is in harmony with the metadata currently in force for the OIF Service provider. In practice, the change metadata are very rare (server certificate renewal, the endpoint URL changes) and are made with sufficient notice to enable the partners to plan for change.

    Please file an ER if your needs dictate that the expiration of metadata be configurable.

  • Failed to retrieve the country using 11 g API

    Hi all

    I need to get the country out of all users with the help of a programmer.

    I use following code to extract the details of the country for all users, but he always comes back "null" for all users even when users have valid countries in usr_country.

    UserManager userMgr = Platform.getService (UserManager.class);
    < String > returnAttr value = new HashSet < String > ();
    returnAttr.add (AttributeName.USER_COUNTRY.getId ());
    User user = userMgr.getDetails (Userlogin, returnAttr, true); where Userlogin contains valid user connection string.
    String country = user.getCountry ();

    Let me know is there another way to get the details of the country of the user.

    Thanks in advance

    Just checked and it seems that user.getCountry () does not work and returns null always the other way to do so is:

    user = userManager.getDetails("User Login", "xelsysadm", null);
    mapAttrs = user.getAttributes();
    iter = mapAttrs.keySet().iterator();
              while(iter.hasNext()){
                   key = iter.next();
                   if(key.equalsIgnoreCase("Country")){
                        val = mapAttrs.get(key);
                   }
              }

    Got another way to do it:

    attrNames = new HashSet();
    attrNames.add("Country");
    criteria = new SearchCriteria("User Login", "xelsysadm", SearchCriteria.Operator.EQUAL);
    users = userManager.search(criteria, attrNames, parameters);
    for (User user : users) {
             attributes = user.getAttributes();
          keys = attributes.keySet();
          for (String key : keys) {
              val = attributes.get(key);
              System.out.println(key +" == "+val);
         }

    }
