Extreme photo retouching

Hello I need serious help edit some wedding photos. I need to remove unruly hair and difficulty of clothes and I would like to improve the makeup.

Any advice for me as I am at a loss.

Thank you!

You need decent photo editing software. There are a lot of free stuff on the web of varying quality, or you can buy a package.

At the upper end of the scale of the purchase is Adobe Photosop for the professional. As a home user, which is a good amount of photography, I have use the Lite edition that is designed for users, Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (even if 9 is the latest version). There are usually 30 days of testing for these kinds of products, so I suggest trying some of the paid for those before you buy.

First rule of photo editing - do not work on the original file. Make copies and work on them as a bad backup and your valuable photos are still in ruins.

Secondly, it is quite easy to fixing the odd zit on someone's face. More complx things like clothing and hair are practised, so don't expect necessarily achieve results superb straight-away.

All the answers and suggestions are provided by an enthusiastic amateur and are therefore no explicit or implicit guarantee. Basically, you use my suggestions at your own risk.

  • Photo retouched in Windows Live Gallery does not copy over image library

I really like the editing tools in the Gallery of Windows Live for Windows 7.  When I edit a photo and that you click on 'file' then 'copy', it does not save the edited version.  It worked only once (how, I don't know).

If ever I get to save, how do you put this picture in your image library?  I use Photobucket to put my photos use on Web sites, but it is not a way to get into the Windows Live Gallery to get the edited photo (only accesses the pictures library).

I've changed the 'read only', etc., for all those listed for total control and it still does not work.

Help!  What is the key to get this working?

    Thanks :))

    Hi John

I think that I thought about it.  Once I have change the photo, I can "make a copy" or simply copy.  He puts it in the library of peak with a # extra in addition to the image.  But I wouldn't have the original photo in his State "before editing", so I have to go back and return the pic back to its original form, but I still have a copy of the edited photo in the library that is was that I wanted to accomplish.

But, the function "save under" would be simpler.  It seems with these tools in Windows Live Gallery, editing it is more work involved in having a before and after that the peak recorded in the image library.  But, I still like the editing tools in the Gallery Live better than Vista.  More I use it, hopefully, the more easy/fast it will become.

Thank you for your help :)

  • Sending a photo retouched by e-mail, change colors... Why?

So, I have a question about sending a picture Photoshopped by gmail.  I sent several photos and all the time, it comes with the right colors, if the email is opened by a computer, but if its opened by a cell phone, the colours change a lot... Why does this happen? It was opened on the phone to be used on instagram.  The sky is purple, the skin got yellow... If I sent that photo threw the facebook chat, it did not, the colors came directly on the phone and the computer...  If it was published from the same computer, I used to edit the photo and I've published on facebook, it looked good on the computer, but if I open it from my phone, the color was wrong yet.  So I wonder what I'm doing wrong? Have I saved it wrong? If anyone can help me I would be very grateful.

    Thank you, Maria

Some devices and software are color management display the colors correctly, others aren't and you need to at least simulate sRGB.

Also consider email can be remove hidden data of color profile.

  • Photos retouched not showing in Indesign CC PDF

I created a page layout in Indesign, and I placed an image of a soldier in uniform. I can see in my PDF, but my client says he can't in his when I e-mail. So I sent an email - yup - soldier not there and myself.

I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong. Here's what I did:

I took the pix of the soldier in photoshop and removed the background. I saved as .psd and imported my InDesign layout. I went to effects and put a small feather around the photo to soften the edges. High quality PDF creation.

That's all. What I am doing wrong?

Most likely your client tries to view the PDF in his email or his web browser, or a a standard as PDF reader preview for Mac. These PDF readers are not enough to look at the complex graphics.

If necessary, give him a link to download the free Adobe Reader and view the PDF file there.

  • Save a photo retouched SUDDENLY want PSD instead of the original format

Hello everyone and thanks for glancing to my question - I was looking for online help and did not find the answer.

I'm on windows 8 and use adobe PS cc.

I have a large file that I make corrections and minor adjustments (especially) to photographs.  the vast majority of them are jpg with a few png here and there.

I've been running along smoothly... my changes, then ALT/FILE/S (and sometimes I have to say the quality PS) but all of a sudden, when I go to save the changes, PS tries to save as a PSD rather than the file format of the original photo.  I know I can "click in the drop-down" to put in place a jpg, but this file causes 3 additional clicks per photo (1 to move down to change in format jpg, 1 to respond to 'replace the file with the same name', 1 to answer 'no' to save the changes to the PSD)... .and when I'm dealing with about 3000 photos, it turns into a lot of unnecessary time.

someone has an idea of what I could have done to have caused this?  or how I can get back to where I was just an hour ago?

I checked 'edit preferences' etc., although I have not changed anything before.  I closed PS and restarted.  I restarted my computer.  to the best of my knowledge, I am, do nothing but far from editing and POOF, something was different.

Appreciate all the help that can be offered.  Thank you!!

    Hi emailstephen,

Is it possible that some of the changes you made resulted in a non-fond layer, as a layer Layer 0? Maybe used Merge visible layers, instead of flattening the Image? If you have a single layer, the name of the said layer still 'Background', he got the padlock icon and its openness to the JPEG format, it should let you save in JPEG format.

PNG, of course, can carry transparency so that is created, but can be JPEG.

  • Opening to the Photos: what extensions do I need?

    Hi all

I see the time will come when I'll need to leave the opening. I am using as almost day 1 and I am quite satisfied. But the writing on the wall. I'm a serious amateur, work with RAW and make especially nature photographer, landscapes and animals. Does not suggest that I go to Lightroom - not interested. I have Photoshop but it's more that I need for 90% of my photo editing. I really like the manipulation of file opening but I do a lot of tagging, etc.

I played with Photos. Simplicity is nice, but it's not opening. I don't see that I can load in Extensions, and I've been surfing on the App store to see what's out there.

So my question is simple: I want to add in the extensions in order to reproduce the tools, controls and treatment that I have had with Aperture. I can learn a new interface, if that's what it takes to get the fine-grained control that gave me opening. I am particularly interested in the exhibition order and usual settings for tone, contrast, etc. Can I use curves if the extension gives me this opportunity.

So - what extensions? I don't want to buy more than I need (of course) but I'm willing to pay for the real tools as opposed to fluff. What extensions to give me the command that I had with Aperture?

You can not "do not have" extension is an external editor for Photos that lets use any program directly from Photo retouching Photos - this includes PhotoShop, preview, etc. and costs $0.99 on the App store

In addition, you need to look at what is available and choose - Léonie (which I think will have more specific suggestions) has set up a Board to the user about what she found extensions and what they do - Photo editing for Photos for Mac Extensions

  • I can't find my imported photos

    Hello

I use only my iMac for about six months, but during this period have added several thousand photographs taken on a number of camera; These were imported by using the Photo app.

Be familiar with Windows I though I could find the files in a directory called 'Images' or similar when it wants to view and open in Photoshop Elements and back up to DVD but can not find the files on my disk.

    Help, please!

    Andy

When you import pictures to Photos, you must use the Photos.app to access.  The photos will be managed in the photo library.  The Finder only will show you the photo library as a package, not the files inside. It's very different from Picasa or other applications, which comes to reference files in the Finder. But long term, it is much more convenient, because we don't are not obliged to keep track of our pictures and edited versions. Photos done this for us.

    • Launch pictures to browse the albums and the Moments within the library,
    • and if you want to access pictures from other applications, use the media browser or select the photos and use file > export to create a copy outside the library of Photos.
    • If you want to use other programs to edit photos, use Photo editing extensions, see: Photo retouching for Photos for Mac Extensions

You can take a look at these Help Pages:

  • Edit raw photos to mac files

I use a Fuji X - T10. Raw files are currently supported by OS X. When I download the pictures, I don't seem to be able to edit raw files. 'Use RAW original title' menu option is grayed out. Can someone explain how to use Photos to directly modify the raw file? Thank you!

'Use RAW original title' menu option is grayed out. Can someone explain how to use Photos to directly modify the raw file?

This option is only available, if you are in edit mode. Then, it will be activated in the picture menu, but only for RAW and JPEG pairs.

If you have imported only RAW files, the RAW file is already the original and will be used, when you edit a photo.

I'm not sure what you want to achieve.  Photos do not edit the original RAW file. The original will still be retained unchanged. Photos will open the RAW file, apply adjustments to the image and then create a preview. You can export the photo retouched in many formats, but not as an edited RAW file; export the photos edited in TIFF high quality, or in the form of JPEG file.

  • Can you fix oblique or perspective with Photos?

In the photo I crop and at the same time correct tilt or irregular horizon line. I am also looking to fix what is variously called inclination, perspective or a key effect when shooting subjects 2 dimensions with an iphone - in my case, the ongoing work on a tilted rack. I use a Macbook Pro and don't really want to do the correction of inclination on the phone, but when I import the photo of my Macbook.

If this feature does not exist in the Photos and will exist for a period of time, is there a recommended solution for this issue edition that doesn't involve a ton of export and re-import of Photos? And - it seems silly to buy something like Photoshop for what seems like a simple enough correction (no diapers or other sophisticated manipulations necessary).

    Thank you!

Photos not taken in charge of perspective correction or lens correction.  And none of the extensions of photo retouching available that done so far. Until one of the teams of third-party developers will provide an extension of the app, which can do this, you will need to correct the photos before importing photos.

  • photo editor app now available, but does not, after the last new update

    Hi all

strange experience that I wanted to stress with you all.

I just had an update (this morning) to What's New build 3.0.A.0.2

After you install this hotfix / update, then told me that "editing" is available for download. Build is 5.0.A.0.12

I'm worried I have not had this app on my phone before - archive system applications reveals this is a new installation, rather than an update of an existing application.

Also, I did not how to make it work, because there is no app on my home screen shortcuts. The app is not visible in the drop-down list app (when adding new items to my homescreens) either. Nor is the application in the list of main application (accessed with the key 6 points to the center of the permanent Panel shortcut on the home screen).

I even tried to use a very useful app "quick shortcut maker" and even if I find photo editor in his list of activities, when I test the generated shortcut, unfortunately, I get "the photo editing software has stopped."

    Any ideas?

I have a few apps disabled, so made photo editing have known all the dependencies?

EDIT: I tried erase the photo editor and don't restart - no change.

    See you soon,.

    Hi MyAliasIsGary

Photo Editor is a system application only, it can be used when editing photo app to your Album or Photo. For example, if you go to Album > tap a photo > press the bottom icon that looks like a pencil on paper > Photo retouching tap.

  • Windows Photo Gallery contains more photos than my pictures folder and my drive hard iomega

I'm a long-time Windows user, but an infant when it comes to the OS. I try to use a disk hard iomega for photo backup.  My windows image file contains 3542 images, the iomega contains the same number, covering a period of time, from 2002 to 2009.  My Windows Photo Gallery contains 23 000 + items covering a period from 2002 to 2011.  Before my last backup attempt, a few minutes earlier, 18000 Photo Gallery + content elements.  When I clicked on the button "Import pictures using Windows" for the iomega he said had 5169 photos to import.  I guess that Windows imported these 5169 photos in Photo Gallery when I intended to send photos to the Photo Gallery for the iomega.  Where should I look to find the missing photos for 2009 to 2011?  When I find out how to do them in Windows Photo Gallery?  How can I transfer photos from the Photo Gallery for the iomega.

    Thank you

    Gene

Photos of "only" that are actually stored by Windows Live Photo Gallery
are the unreleased original files that are saved as a backup when a picture is
edited. These are the files that replace a photo retouched then "Cancel".
    the button is pressed.

The path to the backup on a Vista system folder must be:

    Vista
    C:\Users\\Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows Gallery\Original photos.

The rest of the thumbnails that see you in the Gallery is just pointers to
they are saved in the pictures in the folders on your hard drive. You can check
This by clicking on a thumb in the gallery and choose "open file location".
This can help you to find photos of the "disappeared".

It is possible that some photos have been imported more than once and that
could explain the discrepancy between the total number of files.

Renaming or deleting the file of database owner should dissipate the
    several inches.

This causes WLPG create a new file
next time it is launched and will return
    WLPG to its original state.

Some tags who could not not and metadata
be rewritten on the photo, the files can be
    lost.

On your Vista system, this file would be
    Pictures.PD4, Pictures.pd5 or Pictures.pd6
(depending on your version of the gallery)

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
    Windows Photo Gallery\Pictures.pd4, .pd5.
    or .pd6

It is a hidden file and you may need
    change the following settings:

Windows Vista - Show hidden files
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Show-hidden-files

The file ends with a advanced
    Research of pd4 pd5 and pd6.

Reach... Start / Search / Advanced search.

Check the box... "include not indexed, hidden,
    and the file system"enter pd4, pd5 pd6 in the
    Name field

Rename the .pd5 .pd4 or pd6 file should
    clean your library.

    Try a click right/rename it...      Pictures.OLD
If you are not satisfied with the results... you can
Delete the new file and rename the OLD file
    Back to Pictures.pd4, .pd5 or .pd6.

    Good luck...
