  • When I clik on a link to view another Web page or another document, a blank page appears (a single "point of png'). How can I solve this issue?

The links are located on the emails I receive from authorized sources. When I click on the links to read the additional documents (another document) or display a picture, I get a blank page with a single point in the middle of the page. The tab header says it's an image (1 x 1 pixel) PNG. Any suggestions to fix this?

Often, links to email in bulk are routed via a follow-up rather than service directly to its final destination. If you look at the address bar on the image page, it seems like one of these intermediaries rather than the page you expect to load? If you click on the address bar and press ENTER to retry the address, which does nothing?

It is possible that the security software or security add-on kills a redirect from this intermediate page to the final destination. For example, I think the anti-banner Kaspersky functionality could do that.

  • I can't see the list of my Add-ons (extensions). It shows me a blank page.

After that I updated firefox 42.0, I can't see the list of my Add-ons (extensions). I see a blank page instead. Modules work, but I can't manage/uninstall any of them.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

Delete the files (extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in "Firefox button/Tools menu > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button at the left end of the search bar to check if there is an update available compatibility.

If this did not help, then also delete the addons.json file.

  • Firefox opens to the blank page, no icons, buttons do not work?

I updated Firefox to the latest version, but it was interrupted and I had to reboot my computer. Now Firefox does not at all. The menu bookmarks and all buttons add-on are missing and not doing anything when you click it. The browser opens a blank page. When I right click on anything all these options appear like play, watch the video, picture, ect. I can't open it in safe mode or refresh. I tried to restart my computer. I would uninstall and reinstall if I have to, but how do I get my favorites before doing this? Or a solution to this without having to do it would be great.

    Thank you!

First thing is of course to make a backup. Bookmarks and much more are stored in your profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data.

The sounds of damaged beyond installation assistance if Safe Mode does not work. What you describe with clicks behavior as there is a huge video above all. What I would try opens a new tab with Ctrl + T and see if that did anything. If the display still does not respond, or behaves strangely, I ran malware controls, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware. (Yes, all scanners, just a good idea isn't always enough)

Relocation is probably easier and faster than trying to modify and repair what has been broken.

  • Why didn't he opens with a blank page (as I put it in Options) more?

I had my options value 'show a blank page' when Firefox starts. It has always worked fine until recently... now it still reopens with some pages/tabs I had open at the time I last closed. I checked and the option is still set correctly. There was a similar report from someone who had changed in Windows 10, but I'm still in Windows 7. The other person was not a solution. I'm FF 41.0.1.

One of the strangely common reasons are that you have an optional settings file named user.js in your profile (personal settings folder) folder. Firefox uses the settings in this file at startup to override your preferences since the previous session. Unless you have created this file, you can remove it. The following support article has a section on how to check for her (jump on the suggestion of refreshment): How to fix preferences that will not save.

Note: by default, Windows hides the .js extension. So that you can find any file user.js and distinguish it from other files, you can disable this feature. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

  • How to make the gear for new tab icon displays a completely blank page with no gear icon?

I want a new tab to be a full blank page. How can I remove the gear icon so annoy the new tab is really empty?

your image shows on: newtab and not ' subject: vacuum "as jscher2000 has suggested to you. preference to the subject: config you were reference is no longer supported in firefox 41, this is probably where the confusion comes from.
Please do scroll to the top, through which has already recommended that this will fix the problem.

  • I want to launch Firefox with a blank page, BUT when I restart firefox, it loads the homepage

I have reset start empty, but there is not.

So just to confirm, in the general Panel of the Options page, you set

"When Firefox starts: display a blank page.

And when you close the Options page and open it again, your bet is still there.

But when you close Firefox and run it again, it has changed to:

"When Firefox starts: show my home page".

There are a number of possible reasons for Firefox to lose your changes of parameters between session. Software that is designed to protect you against unwanted changes you blocks actually make changes sought. This includes Advanced SystemCare, and some other utility/privacy/security software with a 'navigation protection' or a 'protection home page"feature.

This article has other possible explanations: How to fix preferences that will not save.

If you find that Firefox remembers not change between visits on the Options page: you can have a different problem, as a generally unwanted program named SearchProtect who should be removed from the Windows Control Panel or a configuration file 'automatic' which locks your start setting. We can help you to further explore that if this seems to be the behavior.

  • My homepage will not open. It's just a blank page, white

My next step is to manually put the address of the web site, and yet, only a blank page, white. I then went to another browser, manually typed in the address, and the page has come. This has happened now for about a week. Thanks for any help you can give.

Need to know what you want for your "homepage" to be able to help you, but I guess it's Firefox, judging by the problem you described.

Various programs that can not be classified as malware or viruses, can and divert the home page and the settings search engine. These are usually programs downloaded overlaid on a main download, this is why many people don't notice that a box is checked in the download dialog, which means that they have agreed to download the unwanted program. You must check these boxes checked before downloading and uncheck the box to avoid that sort of thing.

If it's Firefox you want your homepage and it looks like it is, so it does not open with its own URL in the Home Page box. Strange, I know, but that's how it works!

You must instead, select "Restore Default" under the box of the home page and let Mozilla automatically fill in line of the Home Page. When you have done that, it should read: Mozilla Firefox Start Page and be in a paler gray color and also in italics. If don't look like that then it is not set as it should.

Let us know if this is what you need and if it works.

  • New tab is a blank Page

When I open a new tab, it is completely empty. Recently, I've had to explore all the features of Firefox & realized that a new tab should show sites I visit often. If I close all my tabs, I get a page with my favorite tabs. Should I not get this page when I open a new tab? I checked my topic: config and browser.newtab.url has the value: newtab.

What can I do to get this page to load when opening a new tab?

Nevermind - I realized my mixture to label more option has been set to a blank page instead of the new tab page. Solved my problem!

    Love firefox!

  • Pressing BACKSPACE and get the blank page.

Don't know what the problem is, but lately when I go to my previous Google search, by pressing BACKSPACE, I get a blank page about half the time. The web address is right, but it does not appear my search. Usually, this happens when I am in a new tab note, this was not a problem in other browsers I have used.

    Thanks for your help!

This could be a problem with the cache (disk).
You can see the topic: cache page if the caches are enabled and working.
You can open on: pages through the address bar.

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
  • When I try to print, and the HTML document firefox downloads only a blank page.

I sent some documents in pdf format. I chose to download, the download arrow fired to the blue. I was then able to select the file. Opening the page print the normal browser and I was able to print. I need to reprint pages and this is where my problem comes in. Now when I try to select the firefox file shows that it is downloaded the file but when I select the downloaded pdf firefox only to download the doc again and displays a blank page.

I'm currently at work and do not have available the browser specifications.

Thanks for your help guigs2. In any case, I finally solved my problem by simply installing the new Acrobat reader DC. All my downloaded pdf files types changed html firefox for documents adobe acrobat documents. I can now print what I want. I know that technically it does not really solve the problem of firefox regardless of this issue, but this allowed me to print my docs and that's what really mattered to me. Thanks again for your help.

  • "firefox" link in menu bar leads to the blank page

When I click on 'help' and scroll down to "firefox help", the link leads only to blank page!
In the address bar, he said:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/1/Firefox/38.0.5/Winnt/en-us/Firefox-help
    My version is 38.0.5
    Using Windows XP.
Never used to have this problem.
    AY idea why?

Also, I wanted to ask this question, the aid of ff: (which explains why I cam here to begin with):
Why can't I drag my favorites around folder to another in Mac OS X?
I can do very well with Windows, and I use this feature all the time!
I get bored really won't be able to in Mac!
Anyone know how I can easily do this? (IE, WITHOUT having to open the library and all that...)

    Thank you!

Have you tried to drag autour bookmarks in the sidebar?

He's probably working on a Mac.
It won't work in the bookmarks menu because the menus are under the control of the Mac OS and not Firefox.
I don't know on the bookmarks toolbar and button "display bookmarks you" (next to the star) on the Navigation toolbar.

  • How can I set the new tab to open like a blank page?

I tried "how to turn the page on the new tab off?" in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-tab-page-show-hide-and-customize-top-sites

But still the new tab opens with (chrome://quick_start/content/index.html' "Quick start" and the words "Snap Deal" is already entered in the search bar.) See the capture screen.
I need a blank page displayed when a new tab is opened.

Unless this is possible, I spend my default browser.

    Thanks for the reply jscher2000.
After posting the question, I uninstalled Firefox and then download new and installed. Still the problem remained.
After about 2 hours I still once uninstalled, downloaded again and installed.
This time it worked perfectly as before.
So, now I don't have the problem.
    Thank you.

  • Cannot configure FF to start with a blank page from today - now starts always with previous session

I have the Options set to always open with a blank page and until today, which has always worked. But today it always opens with the tabs from the previous session. I certainly do not want. I've upgraded to version 38.0 but this made no difference.

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them are .html, .ini and .js, .txt, so you can see only file name without the file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.
