    I have a PC with Lightroom 6 just installed. At the opening, it says Lightroom - opening catalog: catalog Lightroom - 2.Ircat, then a Popup comes up saying Failed Assertion and the program closes. I checked to make sure that the photos folder is under the directory of the user and the registry redirects to the right/directory of the user file. The catalogues are stored in a subdirectory of Lightroom in the photos subdirectory. You need to resolve without losing all the catalogs.

    Could you please try to uninstall and reinstall Lightroom once on the computer

  • Failed assertion Lightroom 5.4

    I installed Lightroom 5.4, but it does not start.  I just get a pop up window that says "failed assertion."  I am running Windows 7 and have had no problems with Lightroom 5.3

    There is now an official tech note on the issue http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-error-assertion-failed-update.html.

  • ERROR *: failed assertion: (GVMOMI_SESSION_CONNECTED == gvmomi_session_get_state (session))

    Hello

    I see the following error message generated by the VIX API, when you use the perl bindings:

      • ERROR *: file /build/mts/release/bora-127388/bora/vim/lib/gvmomi/gvmomiSession.c: line 1155 (gvmomi_session_has_version): failed assertion: (GVMOMI_SESSION_CONNECTED == gvmomi_session_get_state (session))

    aborting...

    Essentially, I'm testing my logic to handle recovery - more precisely in the case where I create the host and the VM VIX handles, then wait for long periods of time and then perform the actual operations of VIX (such as copying files).

    To simulate this activity, I have a perl script that creates the host and the VM VIX, handles, sleeps for a period of time and then performs the rest of the VIX operations.

    During the phase of sleep, I have a CTRL-Z to the perl script, that case, any treatment to paused.  After that 15 minutes or so, I have a 'fg' to use the perl script, at which point, I encounter the error mentioned earlier.

    I'm sure it is a bug in the VIX library, but I wanted to know from among the representatives of VMware if this type of problem has already been reported.

    -Darien

    I filed a bug that we need to address this with an appropriate error.

    It did not help.  I contacted the support area and they have been able to help me

    solve it with a reinstall of Lightroom.  Thank you for your efforts.

  • Fake failed assertion error Codes OQ78YWIW

    Hi all

    Using oracle as bi answers 10g, I recently had an error on the Dashboard using a specific report. It was an error display, sepcifically one Assertion failed: false OQ78YWIW of Error Codes
    Anyone know the cause of this type of error or where can I get more information on the errors of Assertation? I did some research, but could not find anything specific to this error, other assertion failures I've done advanced research on a line specific etc..

    In this case, I'd say revisit the expression for common measures see which column is initially to fail.
    I was suggesting to recreate a particular report (not all), to limit to one or more columns in particular.

    Next time, try to choose failure report, traction column 1 and report execution, if it returns then add next column and report execution, do the same activity for each column until this you pull all columns.

    Or come back on the recent measures/changes added.

    If it is useful, please mark as correct or useful

  • Failed Assertion windows message management

    I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 and downloaded a free book from Kobo.  When I plugged my ereader, a successful skipped Windows Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library box.  Within the area has been the statement "Ranked Affirmation" file of the program... \...\src.  He also said "for more information how the program may cause failure of the assertion, see appearance C++ documentation says.  (Press Retry to debug the application - JIT required.

    I checked microsoft for help on these issues, but frankly didn't understand what I was watching, and none seems to be just as in my case.  Then someone help with this?

    Moreover, with the old version of ADE, I do not have this assertion failure message.

    Hey Leona,

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community and offering the opportunity to help you.

    To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    (1) what version of the operating system are using you, 32-bit or 64-bit?

    (2) what version of Microsoft Visual C++ is installed on the computer?

    For the most part, this kind of error can be caused by two factors:

    1. components Runtime Library Visual C++ are missing.

    2. software problem.

    Method 1: If the problem is caused by #1, you can reinstall Visual C++ Library Runtime components to solve the problem.

    Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x 86)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-in/Download/details.aspx?ID=5555

    Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x 64)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=14632

    If the problem persists after installing above package (install anyone, according to the version of the operating system that you use), the question must be a software problem.

    Method 2: I suggest you take a cheque to boot this is a software conflict problem. If this isn't the case, it is always recommended to fix the problem with the support of the manufacturer.

    Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    How to perform a clean boot for a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

    Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 3 of the article mentioned above.

    Thank you for your answer quick Victoria.    This popup has been set to "do nothing", but I found the problem:

    I kept check similar questions after I posted and found someone who had the same problem, but only on a user account.  It reminded me that Lr did weird things with the permissions on the folders of presets in the past that prevented me to save the new settings predefined.

    The backstory: when I created the main account on this machine - by restoring a backup Time Machine - he gave me kind of a short name with a space in there.  No idea how, but it has not caused me no problem in 4 years - except with Lightroom!  LR sets the property on all its records to the first word in my short user name, which is not me that the system is concerned, so I don't get RW access.

    The solution was in this case to get the owner of and gives me RW access to, the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom / and all what it.

    I assumed that Lr does not expect a short name with a space in this document, which should be a reasonable assumption, given that I don't think not that you can create them in the OS X gui and fails to deal with it when it finds one by analyzing only the first word.
