Failed to create database link when the password has a special character
I am trying to execute the following statement in sqlplus
create alpha link database to connect to scott identified by tiger! using "db_alpha".
Note that the password of the account has an exclamation mark inside. the command fails. I tried to put the password in quotation marks (') and double quotes (""). Working the double quotes, but then the link does not work properly.
We are required to have a special character in our passwords... so, how can I get this special character in the password for the database link?
Thanks in advance,

Learn about the GLOBAL_NAMES initialization parameter. Default GLOBAL_NAMES = TRUE, which means the database link is required to have the same name as the database in which it connects. Database name DEVDB link or define GLOBAL_NAMES = FALSE:

I don't have two databases, so in my sol10 database I create two database links sol10@Darren2 and sol11@Darren2 both pointing to itself (back to sol10 database). That's why I use qualifiers link db. The two links you connect as a Darren2 user with password Tiger!. The global database name is sol10 and initialization of setting global_names = true. As you can see what global_name (sol10) corresponds to the name of the link in sol10@Darren2 db (again, the link name is sol10 and Darren2 is qualifying link) select vai db link works OK. But the sol11@Darren2 link fails because the name sol11 link does not match the name db global sol10. However, as soon as I change global_names false, sol11@Darren2 works fine. It will be useful.

Failed to create database connection
Hi all
We run Hyperion 8.5 on Oracle Database 10 g. I configured a Service Oracle successfully and tested it, the test was successful. Then I worked on using the data connection wizard in Hyperion to generate a .oce file to connect to this service. But my attempt fails with "error Oracle - 1:' message." Any ideas what causes this problem.
Thank you
SeyedIf you are able to connect from SQLplus on the same desktop, this means client lib Oracle is already installed in the desktop. I think that server is the hostname of the Oracle database server.

Installation error-could not create database tables
During the installation of the MRS., I get the following error:
Failed to create database tables. Details: DB does not contain schema SRM: VdbError: there is no such thing as the name of the column in the dr_product_info table
The SRM documentation indicates the name of the schema must be the same as the DB username that I checked. Does anyone have a solution for this error?
This is the error you get when the user who connects to the DB is not the
the owner of the DB. For this reason, the
the user does not have the privileges to view certain columns in the table.
If you change the owner of the DB to the user you are using to connect to the DB, then you should be able to complete the installation.

836: failed to create the shared memory data, error 22 store segment
Hi, I am new to timesten and databases in general, and I'm testing the database timesten to test.
I am running ubuntu linux in virtualbox and have java 6 is installed. So far, I installed the timesten database and configured the sys.odbc.ini to create a new database. However, it seems that I can't connect to a database.
I connect with the orattadmin of the user (which belongs to groups both timesten and ttadmin)
I run the commandes./ttenv.sh and I have the classpath for ttjdbc6.jar in it.
then I run le./ttisql.sh, and when I try to connect to mydatabase or any other database present in the sample folder I get:
$. / ttisql
Copyright (c) 1996-2011, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Type? or 'aid' help, type "exit" to leave the ttIsql.
Command > Connect "dsn = mytest_ttdb";
836: failed to create the shared memory data, error 22 store segment
The command failed.
what I am doing wrong? What can I do?
Thanks for your timeA data store active TimesTen consists of a single shared memory segment allocated from o/s. The size of this segment is PermSize + TempSize + LogBufMB + ~ 20 MB. This allowance will not allow the o/s unless the 'package' kernel parameter has a value greater than the requested size of the segment. According to the Guide of Installation TimesTen, you set various parameters of the kernel on the appropriate values (memory shared, semaphores, etc.).

Hi all
Have a laptop HP here with heavy problems! After the connection, it slows right down until it takes at least 5 minutes just to open the start - menu it hangs just with the whirly-circle thing. If I do ctrl-alt-del, the screen goes black and after a few minutes, I get the message "Login failed create the security options dialog» The Task Manager does not open. I managed to slightly improve things by disabling the user account control (miserable thing anyway) - it's just too slow, but now the Task Manager opens about 50% of the time and the other 50%, I get the message a little more lively 'failure - security options '. If I leave the phone that it will sort itself out after about 45 minutes, after which it ends to load every startup process and behaves normally. If I boot in Safe Mode, all right. I also ran virus checks - no nasties - and there is nothing surprising in the event logs.
After an extensive search on Google, I have established that many people - all users of Vista, surprise, surprise - had the same problem, dating back years, pretty much when Vista is released. (This laptop is perhaps a year old). Some corrections were proposed, but the majority concluded that the deactivation of their safety programs, regardless of what they were, did the job. This laptop is running Windows Defender and TalkTalk Internet Security, provided by F-secure. Disable Windows Defender made a slight improvement in speed. Deactivation of TalkTalk Internet Security returned the laptop to normal operation. I strongly suspect a fundamental conflict between Vista programs and safety - that we must all know that Vista is rather prone to bugs - but why Microsoft hasn't issued a fix for this? I don't want to go around without security. Nor do I want to download a new program of security and have the same thing happen againn weeks down the line. Someone had the same problem or found a permanent solution for it? I am barking the wrong tree here? I'll try uninstalling a few recent Windows updates to see if any of those who triggered the hissing fit.
Okay, I think that I fixed it. I will post the solution for you all poor users of Vista with the same problem. Corrections of spare is located in the following Vista forum thread:
Error-message-login-process-has-failed-Create-Security-Options-Dialog
So after that I've identified the cause was the Internet of TalkTalk security program, I did some messing around in msconfig and reduced to the function FSGKHS, alias F - Secure Gatekeeper Handler Starter. If I disabled this service, everything has worked, and if I booted up with no other process or running services to all others as the stuff of F-Secure (with the exception of group policies which I think is an essential service?), I had the same problem. Certainly FSGKHS. However, I did not know why. Everything I had was a vague notion that maybe it was a key to registry corrupt or something. I don't know why I even thought to this. And if I hate the registry cleaners, I couldn't think of any other way to identify registry problems. So I created a restore point and ran CCleaner. It came with a bunch of registry errors, but none of them were related to a F-Secure or files of TalkTalk. I told CCleaner to remove it anyway and booted up with FSGKHS running, just on the offchance. Whaddya know? He is cured. Don't know why, but it works perfectly normally from start to stop (fingers crossed). I know a lot of people have solved this problem by disabling their safety programs - maybe they had a corruption of the registry too? A kind of strange thing to register/security/Vista. Anyway, go try CCleaner before you reformat your drive hard peeps and let me know if this worked for you.

Failed to create data store on LUN ISCSI
Get the following error when attempting to create a new data store after a new installation of ESXi 5.5U2.
Location:
- UCS B200 servers using the VIC-1280 map and
- Interfaces ISCSI connected directly from the fabric of interconnection to the NetApp FAS2552 with TwinAx cables
- MTU is set for extended frames (9000) on the interface of NetApp, vNIC for ISCSI vKernel vSwitch and group interface ports
- During the initial setup of the vSwitches, I forgot the MTU setting Port and interfaces group wouldn't even ping, so all the MTU setting are good
- ISCSI connection is green and LUN created and present storage warehouses are considered as available on the ESX Server to create a data store (sizes 1 TB and 2 TB tested times)
- The NetApp storage have been created as a thin provisioned and thick provisioned - neither works and gets the same error
Any ideas would be very useful. Technical support has not yet responded.
Thanks in advance.
DM
OK, after working with NetApp and VMware on a conference call (after both made each other) bottom line "fix" was to remove the iSCSI port bindings, remove broken paths, remove the vSwitches and rebuild again.
1. create vKernel vSwitch with appropriate port group
2. set the MTU to 9000 on the port group and vSwitch
3. create the bindings for each interface iSCSI Port
4 re-scan
5 successfully create the data store
Oddly enough, I had to repeat this process 3 times for one of the blades, but it worked the first time for 3 other involved blades.
VMware technical support did provide the following as a look at the LUN of the CLI:
1. / vmfs/devices/disks cd
ls-l
We see and out of all the available discs
Identify the Lun Naa.xxxxxxxx
2. run the Naa.xxxxx reported in step 2
partedUtil getptbl /vmfs/devices/disks/naa.xxxxxxx
If there is a partition, you might see something similar to
1 63 2249099 131 128 > 1 is the partition number
or
You can see and error, if error please contact technical support
3. If there is partition, you can delete
partedUtil remove /vmfs/devices/disks/naa.xxxxxxx 1
NOTE: This process did not work, but is still useful nonetheless. It could work if the LUN has been used by another operating system and need cleaning. But my situation was all greenfield.

1 n ° my password has no special character.
2. I ran psa to upgrade the schema opss.
After spending a lot of time debugging this problem, I was able to solve this problem:
The cause is my customized .bashrc file that somehow eliminates a lot of environmental variables, some of which are essential for the configureSecurityStore.py to run.
Now get rid of the file .bashrc custom, everything works as not expected, after no KeyError more.
I close this topic.
Thank you

My profile says "student", but this is a business... I use the program with the question in my daily tasks of work & desperately need a fix!
I have a LaserJet Pro200 MFP m276nw color
Windows 7 64 bit
I get this message when I try to print from a program called life that is hosted online through Casimir:
Error message: failed to create printer device context
I contacted life & their support said it was a problem with HP... the computer was the right type, so it should work with their system.
I have a HP Deskjet 1300 on this computer before moving to this new one. Not sure if an old file is in conflict, but I don't know how to solve this problem, if that's the problem. The 1300 print without any problems.
I just uninstalled all HP applications on my computer & start from scratch... He gave me the same error again.
I wanted to add, I checked the firewall... not to block. I also reduced... the name of the printer has not set the it.
Also, when I uninstalled & reinstalled this morning, someone from the Office on a network computer had sent a work on this new printer by mistake & when I reinstalled, it printed the work! So I know that it can print the program... it's not fair.
Jobs are actually feeling at the start of the computer first, until there's something on my computer blocking the internet application to connect to the printer?
After hours yesterday trying to 'fix' my firewall settings & create rules network without success, I decided that because the printer is connected to a WIFI router that the question can be part of this type of installation. I finally got to the store today & bought a wireless network & plugged the printer & then in our router and VOILA it is printed. The printer itself has its own internet security installed, so when the internet application that we tried to print, the printer it seen like a virus, by saying, and blocked the print job...
Thank you... (for nothing)... Thought I'd post this for anyone else that may encounter this problem.
