  I have a virtual file server with a 2 TB virtual disk (vmdk).  When I try to create a snapshot of the system (to save), I get the following error:

  < Unspecified file name > file is larger than the maximum size supported by the data store ' < unspecified datastore >.

  The data store located on the file server is formatted with 5.54 VMFS with size of 1 MB.  It's a data store of 12 TB with about 6 TB free.

  That is right.  If you want to take a snapshot, then the maximum size is GB 2032.   And this is the case even if thin you load the disc.

  I understand that 1 MB BS may comprise a maximum of 256 GB.

  Yes, that is the question, 272 GB is too large for the size of block 1 data store MB. Front of vSphere 5, all snapshots are created in the home of the virtual machine folder by default. With vSphere 5, this has changed and now snapshots are created in the same folder as the virtual disks from their parent.

  It contains a logical example creating VMFS data warehouses, you should be able to adopt it for specific volumes.

• The data store size is smaller than the virtual disk

  Just deploy a new installation of ESXI 4.1 rev3 on a new Dell PE R520 server with 4 disks 1 GB configured in a single Bay RAID5.  When I connect with vSphere and go to Configuration > it shows storage data store being just 740 GB.  However when I go to storage adapters and select the vmhba it shows the complete 2.73 CT of the RAID array that I need to use.  Nowhere I chose Go 740 for the size of the data store, so I don't know how it has been brought to this size.  If I try to delete and re-create 740 GB is the maximum I can create.

  What I am doing wrong and how do I create a data store that uses all 2.73 CT?  Screenshots are attached.

  4 ESXi does not support LUNS > 2 TB.  Any increase on a multiple of 2 TB, it's what you'll see (e.g. 2.73 TB - 2 TB =.73 to ~ = 740 GB you see).

  But the real question is why you install version 3 year of the hypervisor?

  That's right, at least in part. In addition to the upgrade of the host, you must also upgrade the hardware version of the virtual machine (Compatibility Mode) to take advantage of larger virtual disks (up to ~ to 62). However, always keep in mind the time needed to restore the virtual disk together where this is necessary. With 1 Gbps - assuming that you have the full available bandwidth - 2 TB will require more than 5 hours already! Then maybe organize the data in several virtual disks may be a better solution.

  You would use the local storage for Virtual Machines? If this isn't the case, you don't have to worry about local VMFS volume offset.

  Your local VMFS volume on the ESXi boot device does not start to 128 because you will need the other partitions to install ESXi itself and those partitions will take the first blocks.

  I tried, for almost two months, to convert/create my 7 books that are printed in electronic books; with the first edition had to be Nook, with Kindle on the list. Unfortunately, I am still working on just get the first one published! And I could really use any assistance to get this figured out. My intention was to publish several weeks ago... now my despair must publish before the weather gets too hot and the children are outdoors most of the time... or at least not later than Easter. (: 0)

  First of all, my books are books of photo/poetry for children of all ages. They were all designed in Photoshop, where I also created images full size for the first eBook. I received the specifications of B & N for the different devices of Nook. In the assumption that it would be better to create the largest files, thus allowing smaller size devices to fit the page accordingly to fit and the most important would not encumber a smaller image, I size my pages to 1280px x 1920px at 72 dpi. (now I hear 150 is standard?)

  My text is included in the image that design is an image = a single page. I've included a version only the full text of the poem/story at the end for those who want to set the text or use a voice reader. I obviously all original, but for the publication they were all saved as jpg.

  After a fight and a lot of frustration, I managed to finish the manuscript for Barnes and Noble Nook press Manuscript Editor. My internet is molasses and so much of this has been done in the wee hours of the morning when the rest of the time zone is asleep. I had only a page with a problem, an additional empty line/space was irreparable. I published and it had been completely sloppy to be published, although the preview looked a-okay. Only on the upper left of each image/page 1/6 was visible in the corner of my laptop to PC or Nook of my Tablet Android App. So I desperately waited another 10 hours, hoping that no one would buy my book Meanwhile, so he could be removed from the sale.

  I downloaded a demo of InDesign CC, and after two weeks of not even being able to create a new single document for some reason any twisted, I bought a month membership. (It is really difficult to provide records, seriously?) After a cat and a phone call that I can, in theory, now use InDesign.

  I created a new Document for Digital Publishing to the above specifications (1280 x 1920 px). I did rectangle the size of the page placeholders and place one image per page. This usually inserted the image to 50% and I have to select 100%, and then move them if necessary to place.

  So my first question is: is it possible to place an image at 100% without having to do this step further resizing? Or is there another way to place the image in the size of the page without any of these other measures that would be too good.

  Well, after placing several pages/images I have also selected each and went to Options of Export Object and checking the rasterization of Custom and "resize to text Flow.  I then exported ePUB trial to see how it would look. On the PC and tablet in landscape mode it was far better than the other, but about oh 1/3 from the bottom of each page was cut. On the Tablet, I turned to portrait and voila full page. Woohoo! But alas, I don't want to limit it.

  is there something I am doing wrong? Did I miss a step or two somewhere so that the complete picture should appear on the page? I feel like I'm about to turn the page on this thing, but he's stuck in the one after that.

  I would greatly appreciate any insight, advice, help anyone can offer.   In case it is necessary: my laptop using Window 7 64 bit Pro, InDesign CC is 64-bit and my 10.1 Android tablet. I can view the EPUB files in the corners for PC and Nook for Android. I also have a Kindle, LumiRead and various other applications on the tablet. I also have someone get a glimpse of the finished epub, if needed, on a Mac, iPad, or Android phone... even if I don't have not one of these. Don't know who has a corner I can look good.   Here I think you want your images to fit within size full page automatically. For this, you can try the following steps:

  1. create a new doc

  2. menu Goto object, and then choose image mount options

  3. Select adjust automatically and fitting drowdown, select "adjust the content to the frame. See the screenshot below:

  

  After that, your images should adjust automatically in full page placeholder images. Please let me know if this does not work or if the problem you are experiencing is different and I did not understand your problem correctly.

• Failed to create ramdisk error during upgrade (the Scratchconfig does not work?)

  I'm trying to use Update Manager to update ESXi 5.1 to ESXi5.5. I get the error "Failed to create a virtual disk of size 333 mb to store the upgrade image."

  The ESXi has lots of disk/ram left.

  I did some research and discovered a problem where the scratchconfig was pointing to a nonexistent device. I put the scratchconfig and restarted.

  After the reboot into the new folder, I saw various var, core, newspapers etc. of the files, but I still get this cannot create the ramdisk error when you try to upgrade.

  I tried various items/vmfs/volumes/datastore uuid/.locker-host and/vmfs/volumes/datastore uuid/scratch, both with the same result.

  I have confirmed that I can write in these new files.

  Whenever the newspaper said ERROR ', 'SPACE_AVAIL_ISO', expected '349773754', test found '0' despite the scracthconfig.»

  It turns out that the other group had created another administrator account and deleted the administrator since the root account access.

  /etc/VMware/hostd/authorization.XML indicates that the root user has lost the role of 'administrator ':

  When ACEDataRoleId is set on '-1' this indicates the administrator. " In your case, the role has been set to-5 which is not a role defined and probably hardened with nothing to do.

  I'm trying to convert a physical Windows 2008 R2 (SP1) virtual, using Vmware vCenter Converter Standalone version 5.5 build 1362012, it fails at 1% (after around 40mins) with the following message

  Windows systems has some LUN (4 x each various size GB) San, being the GUID (GPT) Partition Table.  I went through the wizard as a general rule, by selecting "edited on the machine", a player selected vmware "vmware workstation" or another vmware virtual machine destination 6.0.x and the location of the target being a LUN with 500 GB of space.

  Now for the data to be copied I selected 3 LUN (on a database resides) and put the 'Size' option (but I tried to keep the size of the various passes) to save space.

  I wonder if the converter is not able to work on the GPT partitions?  (I think I saw some discussion of the community on this problem using v.5.1, but using 5.5 should be resolved?)

  Your problem is with VSS, it is probably the lack of space, to seek solutions and similar problems.

  Errors that you see are expected, we need a full newspaper bundle for investigation and don't warry on GPT disks, they are supported with converter 5 +.

• How to export a full size, full resolution Photos photo?

  Background:

  I am a very literate Mac user, but have NEVER used iPhotos or Photos - initially because I didn't like how they seized my photos and hid in a place where it took an expert user to show me where they were.

  Meanwhile, my cousin, who is 77, has all his pictures in Photos.  They were originally in iPhoto, but after that its database has become corrupted and all the photos that have been "disappeared": she spent several hundred $$ to Apple store for them to create a new database and search and restore all the pictures, (of course all its manifestations and albums "disappeared" in the process) she ended up with 6 or 7 duplicates of many of his photos and told to go home and remove duplicates that she tried to fol (its 3000 original photos became 15 000 pictures after the "repair")

  During this time, she would be now as export a couple of full-size, full resolution photos on his desk so that she can download them to print.  Could someone guide me please for a quick and simple tutorial on how to achieve?  I may go beyond helping him do this tomorrow and could probably figure it out - but it would be great if a kind person could tell me how to do this for her.

  That's what I do, there are probably other ways.

  (1) in the Photos, click on the image to select it, click the 'invisible' box below and type a recognizable title:

  

  (2) press ENTER, leave the selected image and pull down the file menu:

  

  (3) choose export > export then 1 Photo... (or to the Unmodified Original export... If you have changed the original and that you want to export an unedited version.)

  You will get this window:

  

  You can switch between different file formats, but by selecting a JPEG quality and size will give you the biggest and least file compressed.

  Under file naming, choose use title so that your exported file will have the name you gave it in step 1. Click Export.

  (4) you will then get a dialog box that allows you to choose the folder in which you want to export to, but crucially (and wrongly IMHO) does not allow you to name the file at this stage:

  

  But you are good to go because you gave the image of a title in step 1, then choose a folder (office here) and go ahead and click Export.

  This is where your photo will end up, and it should be the same size as the original:

  The problem is with the security permissions on the temp of your profile folder. To correct it access %Temp% or C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local and right click the Temp folder and choose Properties, then click the Security tab, and click Advanced.

  On the permissions tab, you should see the permissions that are there. There are 3 that are:

  'SYSTEM' with a total control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

  "Administrators" with full control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

  "Your username" in the full control that applies to "this folder, subfolders and files.

  and all 3 must be inherited from the folder C:\Users\[Username]\.

  If you have the option "Include the permissions that can be inherited from the parent to this object" checked, then check it and click on continue if there are problems, then remove the permissions that are not inherited.

  Once you click on 'Apply' and click 'OK', you must have the permissions to write to the directory and you won't get the error messages more.

  Did you change your computer?

  (a) click on the 'Start' button, then click on 'computer '.

  (b) right click on the USB drive or flash memory card that uses Windows Ready Boost, then click 'properties '.

  (c) click on the tab "Ready Boost" in the 'Properties' window to the memory card or the USB drive.

  (d) select the title radio button "do not use this device ' then click on 'OK '. This step should remove automatically the Ready Boost cache on the device. If you are unable to use the full capacity of the device, proceed to the next step.

  (e) double-click the memory card or the USB drive.

  (f) right click on the file 'ReadyBoost.sfcache' and then click 'remove '.

  (g) click 'Yes' to remove the ReadyBoost cache.

  Reconnect the device ready boost which allows the service to boost loan which will create the new cache.

• Pasted sketch image changes color full-size SUV

  When I paste a sketch and he see full-sized, it substantially changes in color. Why?

  First time user of the pencil and sketch only randomly, I've developed something and did not pay attention to the transparency of the any selections, I did.
