  After downloading the compressed files by e-mail to the file to My Documents in Windows XP/AOL successfully I can't open them. My Dell desktop computer starts trying to open the file selected approximately every second, but each attempt seems to be stuck. I can only control the machine off, then restart it.   Thank you! Activating/Deactivating the option of tabs on / off power had no effect. However, I also noticed that I could not access my modules in the Tools menu. Go to safe mode allowed me to do it and also allowed me to open new windows. I disabled all add-ons and then proceeds to activate one by one. The culprit seems to be "Vitzo WHOIS 2.2". Activation of this add-on - it prevents me from opening new windows or access to my list of Add-ons. I have not tested one half-dozen other addons that I decided to leave disabled, but Vitzo is certainly a problem.

  Not turning off"use graphics processor" in the Performance preference and restarting Photoshop have a bearing on the issue.
