Failure iMac

Hello, here since 3 weeks my imac won't start properly and from the day it happened. After you reinstall OSX el capitan, reinstall the memory, I also did a test hardwaire that does nothing, onyx detects nothing, I did everything really. The problem is I turn on the mac it's son "bong" he charges with son logo apple and then after loading screen white and no file after as a mark or a sense nothing prohibited white sunblock. And when I start promotion en mode my "without extension" Mac it works perfectly and yet I is no application install just the basic OSX application. My imac is a 27 "iMac intel core i7 2, 8 GHz, 8 GB of ram, 1 TB of HDD, HD4850 512 MB graphics card it is end 2009

I hope that you will have solutions thanks.

That's what you mean by your statement, "and when I start my mac in"without extension"it works perfectly?

If you mean that it starts in safe mode that indicates a problem with third-party applications on your account as secure boot prevents third-party applications to start.

  • How many times that your failure iMac?

    Hi Apple community,

I bought an iMac (late 2014) around March last year and he collapsed twice since.

The first was a failure of the hard drive where my files had to be wiped out (I was lucky that most of my files were then in the cloud)

Just recently, my machine has no boot, black screen with a beep every 5 seconds (I suspect that it is a failure of the RAM). I had to lug the entire machine to the service provider authorized apple repair.

I talked to the service provider and they said that they don't usually see several iMac repairs and suggested to contact Apple directly if I suspected that I had a defective machine.

I was wondering if this is the norm, and if other users have experienced similar outages with their iMacs?

    Thank you

    Ben

FWIW, it is certainly not 'normal '. If it was millions of people would not buy iMacs. In my case in 30 years, I had exactly an iMac fail. It was an iMac Rev B, which ran 24/7 for 9 years before it failed. I have owned dozens of Macs.

I have a late 2009 iMac. When I tried to upgrade to El Capitan. He said that the CHIP shows the h/d is a failure and can not be updated. I have install an external withEl of h/d Cap but it is very slow. the h/d is USB 3 but the iMac's USB 2. the h/d is only 5400 RPM. a 7200 RPM 7 / would accelerate the iMac?

No, because the limiting factor is the computer is USB 2.0, which is how it connects any external drive apart the external drive. As USB 2.0 is much slower, there is no real advantage to a 7200 RPM drive. What you need is a Firewire enclosure that supports FW800 which is much faster than USB 2.0.

  • freezing of the iMac. hard drive failure?

My iMac has been freezing a few days ago. At first I thought it might be a Trojan horse, but I could not detect any. I update my OS to El Capitan, hoping he could solve the problem, but the problem persisted.

I checked the console and I saw this message continues to flow upward

    kernel [0]: disk0s2: i/o error.

I heard that this indicates a drive failure. I ran first aid through disk utility, then a test of material using the Apple disc, but nothing was detected.

I hope that it is would be a software issue and not a disk failure. Someone has an idea how to be course and finally fix it?

    My specs:

    iMac (21.5 inch, mid 2011)

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor

    12 GB DDR3 memory at 1333 MHz

AMD Radeon HD 6770 M 512 MB graphics card

Storage: 164,48 GB free of 829 GB

I should mention that I run windows via bootcamp on the same drive. I haven't experienced the issue on windows, so is it possible that it is not a hardware problem?

I reinstall CS4 after failure of hard drive and everything works - photoshop, Indesign - EXCEPT Acrobat 9 Pro. I am running Yosemite on iMac. I reinstalled Acrobat from the disks, but when I open I get that Word to Acrobat in the finder without other menus - the application does not open. As a first step, I get an error message.

Acrobat has detected there are missing components

What is the cause? If yes where can I get.

I tried to uncheck the boxes, but no difference.

Is this or an activation problem

  • 2014 iMac will not recognize part of the promenade of fusion after failure bootcamp

    Hi all

I tried to install windows 7 with boot camp. I put the disk in boot camp to be around 250 GB. When it restarts, it did not recognize the USB key and asked for a disc. I have no disc drive I did a hard stop down. This scene reproduces and I stopped again and it starts in recovery. I then deleted the bootcamp drive and tried the mac hd drive for all distribution. It froze and I restarted. I did not start so I went back into recovery and restored a backup. Disk utility does not show the 250 GB I booked for the boot camp. Only TI 777 free on 860.48. It is a Fusion of 1.12 to disc. Help, please. I know it is probably self-inflicted and I did several things wrong.

    Thank you for your time.

    2014 3.5 ghz i5 iMac 1.12 CT fusion car 5 k

1 W7 is not supported on Mac from 2015. I wouldn't recommend any other attempt.

    2. If the restoration did not erase the entire disk fusion, you restored to a Volume of CS of OSX existing, which won't change size.

    3. start Internet recovery, remove part of the SSD and HDD, if necessary and then restore them to a newly created CS LV/LVG. You use Time Machine to restore?

  • Yahoo Mail failure after upgrade of Sierra - iMac

After the upgrade to Sierra... Now I find that I can't 'see' Yahoo mail... I tried to add the a/c: then the removal of the a/c. I get the Triangle of Hazzard indicating error account! I went down this loop for 2 days...

All my other email accounts worked instantly. iCloud: Gmail etc.

I tried to manually configure the settings...

Everything seems 'normal'... but not a thing, no mail: no record... a real pain. the only joy that is web based too... If I can work...

But, come on APPLE... This happens to my Yahoo mail whenever I update IOS... What is going on???

I always seem to end up in a CHAT SESSION just to get my MAIL BASIC... This ISN'T a quality SERVICE...

MAIL today, is a very basic service... Please, APPLE... issue a patch for us, the little guys

    Rant on.

    help, please, anyone...

One user posted (Re: Sierra - Yahoo mail offline persistently) he has had success in choosing don't no Yahoo when you set up the account, but to choose the other and set up the details manually. You would like to try and see if it works for you.

  • iMac restarts after sleep

Problems lately with my iMac 27 "5 K. After putting to sleep, it is restarts after about 2 hours.  If I wake up it before that date, it is usually very good. But after 2 hours, it restarts. Sometimes, I find it just be stopped. Most of the time when it restarts itself, it crashes with this gray bar filled about 80% progress.  I have reset the PRAM and EMS, checked all the settings in power management (not set to restart after power failure for example).

Another problem I 'bypassed' which may or may not be related (I'm including in case it is related) is that on El Capitan, my magic trackpad would randomly wake the iMac.  I had to disable the option to allow devices BT wake up the Mac. When I upgraded to Sierra, the iMac still wake up randomly due to an event of BT. After a lot of trial and error, activate the option "allow bluetooth to computer devices" back prevented the wake-ups at random and let me wake up the computer again deliberately with the trackpad.  Very strange.

In any case, I'm usually pretty ingenious to resolve this sort of thing myself, but the Console to Sierra news is terrible. Or maybe it's the system logs that are terrible, because I can't find anything about the causes of previous judgment that might provide a clue as to what is happening here.

So, any advice on how to solve the problem or at least to determine the causes of the previous stop would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi there champrider,

It sounds like your computer guard stop on its own, and the only way you can get it to come is to unplug for a while. If you get some sort of error when the computer restarts, take a look at this article:

OS X El Capitan: If your Mac restarts and a message

If this isn't the case, then I suggest starting in safe mode to delete a few caches as well as system-level to check and fix if necessary startup disk.

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

If the problem persists then I would then reset the SMC on your computer:

Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac.

Discount to zero is successful, but screen is frozen with no access to the hard drive.  I can't open the preferences system due to frost.

Anyone have any ideas on how to proceed?  The iMac is obviously not able to boot to the hard drive.

This probably means the HD has failed and must be replaced. How you proceed, is to take the computer to your local Apple authorized provider who can help replace the disk and get you back in business. Wake the computer to your Apple store or Apple authorized service for the service provider. He probably suffered a hardware failure.

  • iMac 27 2010 graphics card / ram problem

Hello - read through the form and try to isolate the problem.  A week ago my end 2010 iMac 27 I7, 12 GB of Crucial Ram, OSX Yosemite went screwy - icons went fuzzy, and the system has just stopped responding. I tried not just pull the plug, but the computer was out of order, so I had to pull the plug. Please keep in mind it was a day hot here in New York and I've come for a quick moment to remove some files and did not close the windows a turn on the AC, so they probably overheated system or so I guess

Anyway, after a few hours and I came back home and turned back on the iMac. Immediately, I noticed some pale red bans on the screen. The system has been restarted slowly and then it stop at halfway however and just go to the gray screen. I did a reboot, re-installed the operating system made the system check, but the failure of operating system to kick when I do a normal restart, and I am only able to operate the computer in Mode safe.

Is there a way I can understand if the RAM is the question, the graphics card, or if it's the OS? A faulty graphics card will prevent the system from starting normally? I have the same question when I open it on safe mode?

I'm trying to see if there is a way to save the iMac and get more use out of it, but at the same time a few years if it's gong to fix an expensive that I can't do on my own, so maybe its not worth what's now 5-6yrld of fixing iMac little matter how the computer cost me back in 2010.

Thanks for your help and sorry if this question has been answered countless times before.

    Most likely graphics card problem...

    Note:

One way to test is to boot from the HD, (now shift key at startup), run utility disk in Applications > utilities, then highlight your reader, click on repair permissions, test for problem in Mode safe...

PS. secure boot can remain on the gray radian for a long time, let go, he's trying to repair the hard drive & trash/rebuild the cache files

    Reboot, try again.

If it does so only in ordinary chest, there could be a problem material such as Video card, (the Quartz is disabled in Safe Mode), or airport, some USB or Firewire devices, or the module in part 3, Check System Preferences > accounts (users and groups in later versions of OS x) > login items window to see if she or something relevant is listed. Or a stray process eating RAM.
