Hi mn39_2001 and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

You have enabled Numlock. Press Fn-NumLock to turn off (the NumLock key has stop scroll in white, NumLock in blue).

I hope this helps!

-J' I reset the SMC. This has no effect

-J' have tried a restore and noticed something very strange: because the restoration would take 6 hours or more, I needed to use the Mac, I cancelled restore... and the keyboard and trackpad worked well... for a day about

    Hello CocoGriff!

Thanks for reaching out on your trackpad and keyboard works intermittently on your MacBook Pro.  Looks like you've got a good start on things so far.

Reinstall OS X can be good to rule out a software problem, causing their lack of reaction.  Before we get to that, you can try restarting in safe mode to see if they act even in safe mode.

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

If it is the same in safe mode, then you can proceed with reinstalling Mac OS X.

  • Failure of keyboard on Satellite Pro C660-187

My daughter bought a new laptop - 30 days ago - the keys seem to play up.
In particular arrows will not work (the arrows on the numeric keypad are OK but)

The question mark and slash affects more than the last letter of the alphabet--can't type the letter!
None of them will work with or without shift keys.
I updated the driver - nothing has been spilled on the keyboard.

Is it just a matter of the combination of keys, or I would return the laptop to the provider.

    Mikeld

    Hello

    > The question mark and slash affects more than the last letter of the alphabet--can't type the letter!

Does this function by pressing any other keys; for example there is Z and Z o or @ is and so on?
Maybe the keyboard layout does not match the correct language.

Check out this page from Microsoft how change this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-your-keyboard-layout
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/258824

Or if this will not help you, then I would say that its hardware related issue, so in this case, the keyboard should be replaced by ASP.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

What would cause the keyboard suddenly stop working in the Middle an email typed in Outlook for one two accounts of users registered on the computer. The keyboard simply does not acknowledge the strikes on Outlook or MS WORD or elsewhere, that you must type something for the user. It is a DELL Latitude D620 with Vista business and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.  Curiously, the function of the keyboard of the other user seems to be ok.

    1. in the Panel-> Accessibility-> make your computer easier to use-> make the keyboard easier to use, check your filter keys, if it is on, turn it off. You have pressed the right shift key for 8 seconds.

    2. If it is a laptop, turn off the power, remove the battery for a few seconds and replace it.

  • Failure of keyboard with apostrophe and question marks, etc.

    apostrophe resembles e.-c question mark e. E, hooks quotes ^ C, etc.

Usually held on the left ctrl + shift will reset the problem, but this does not work, no more to restart the computer.

It's a sticky key problem, but can't do it reset.

It does not resemble a sticky key problem. It seems more likely that your keyboard can be set up for the wrong language. Reach
Panel-> region and language , then the keyboard & language tab. Now click on theChange keyboards button then the General tab. Verify that the correct default for your keyboard language is set.

My BlackBerry Bold 9780 malfunction keyboard, when I try to type a letter at random times, he will give me two to four letters. Not random letters, but the letter I type, for example "aaaa". Sometimes the keyboard stops working for at least one or two seconds, as if it had been delayed.

My girlfriend used to have a phone that does the same thing (which was not a BB is a Samsung), I once connected to a phone via Bluetooth to retrieve some photos and I don't know if she got something extra. No idea what I was dealing with here?

The last BONE of output for the 9780 is 6.0.0.600, the link below is Vodafone, it will work fine on your system of operating device 9780, releases are "released" by specific carriers once they are certified and trained in their support technicians, but still, you are able to load all carrier even model by following the instructions below.

See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Failures of erratic boot T23

    People,

I had a venerable T23 WinXP, which has been chugging along as a printer on my network server. (I use it to talk to a parallel printer, as my T61 has no parallel port).

He recently failed to start. Sometimes, it performs a cycle the LEDs can hang with the fast/slow cycling fan. Occasionally, he will get past POST and begin to initiate the o/s, but the screen goes off and nothing responds. Even holding down the power button doesn't turn off not it - the only way to turn off is to wait for the battery to discharge, or remove the battery! I see this message described a problem that resembles another type of machine, but the answer says that the T23 is not prone to the same motherboard problem.

I'm the lucky one that has the same problem, or should I try dismantling the T23 and everything back into place? All the best ideas?

    See you soon,.

My laptop (Ideapad Flex 15) updated and restarted this morning - which I lost all of the function KB. I could not connect since could not enter my password. I plugged a USB KB wireless that works. Any ideas how to restore cell function KB?

I rolled back the last update and that solved the problem... so far it has not returned...

  • Portege 3500 - keyboard problem

    Hello
I'm having a problem very similar to the one described here: http://forums.tabletpctalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=507&highlight=keyboard

My keyboard does not work, even if the alt and shift keys work to password login screen. On the screen, the light of the F10 is on.

There are beeps when the computer is started. The first time, I counted 14 beeps. On subsequent reboots, this was replaced with a quick and repetitive beep.

The pen seems to work OK. In the case of Windows, the only key that works is the key shortcut Menu. By clicking on that activates the function 10 light again. Then clicking on the SHIFT function indicator 11 switches.

I also can't get into the bios, probably because the keyboard fails and the ESC key is not recognized.

Any suggestions that it may be?

    Thank you
    Mike

    Hello

    This problem very strange s.
It is possible that there is a hardware failure of keyboard.
14 beeps at the beginning are very strange and as far as I know it s exceptionally on the laptop.
    I recommend you contact Toshiba.

  • Qosmio F750 - different keyboards appear in Device Manager

    Keyboard MCIR Microsoft eHome
    Microsoft eHome Remote control keyboard
Standard 101/102-key or natural microcosm PS/2Clavier with HP QLB

Could someone put me their settings in Device Manager so that I have a hint on how to rectify this.

  • Microsoft wired keyboard 500 & Windows 7 x 64

I use a microsoft wired keyboard with windows 7 x 64.  The software/driver provided by microsoft for this configuration (ITPx64_1033_7.00.260.0) does not work correctly.  The software is supposed to programs other than the default value to allow you to reasign dedicated keyboard keys (mail, calculator, etc.).  However, most of them have no effect.  Any ideas?

  • Warranty repair period

    Hello

I had a repair under warranty made to my Satellite P10 earlier this year, and the problem was diagnosed as a failure of keyboard and the keyboard replaced.

The problem has now re-appeard but the laptop is beyond its 1 year warranty by a couple of months.

My question is how long repairs are guaranteed? I guess a year but I can't find any information to confirm / deny - can someone advise?

The details of the problem (if anyone is interested) appear when you type on the keyboard of the laptop for an extended period. The laptop starts to see the key to control as being "stuck" and used keys behave like control key combinations. So, I checked that the key was not stuck somehow impossible to find a physical cause for the problem. If you use an external keyboard so the problem never appears and since I always use an external keyboard, when I have a lot of typing, I never noticed the problem again...

The only way I found to 'cure' this keyboard problem is to reboot the machine when it arrives, but where the damage is usually already what I was working on.

    Hey there,

A previous repair warranty is 90 days.

    See you soon
