I tried a restore to an earlier date

    Can anyone help

    Sounds like a hardware problem.
Try to configure the computer laptop back to factory settings. I guess you have to use an external USB keyboard in case the internal keyboard does not work.

Anyone has any suggestions or do I now has an "office of low power!

What about new OS install? Have you tested if the keyboard and the touchpad works after recovery again?
    Do this!

  • Satellite L750D - issue strange keyboard/touchpad

Hi guys, I'm new here and I hope you can help me.

    I have a Satellite L750D here who has a strange keyboard/touchpad issue.

Recently, my screen was replaced and I toke the possibility of replacing the DD by a SDS.

I used the OS restore cd that I created from the partition recovery and completely reinstalled Windows 7 64 - Bit ones.

Everything seemed to work well after the last restart.

Then my after reboot, the keyboard was not working and or the touchpad.
I tried to restart / stop and start again, no change.

I plugged a USB keyboard and mouse, both work perfectly.

I reinstalled the drivers of touchpad on Toshiba site, still no change.

Then, I closed the lid and leave Notepad go into sleepmode/setting standby extended and found that when I opened the lid/screen, the keyboard was working again, but not the touchpad.

Fn + F9 made no difference.

I then pressed the button above the touchpad, but the touchpad remained dead. But after pressing this button, the keyboard went dead too!
The key for the touchpad power made no difference, the keyboard or the touchpad remained dead.

Given zero made no difference either.

Throw the drivers in safe mode led the pilots to be reinstalled, but both keyboard and the touchpad remained dead.

The only thing to bring back the keyboard is the cover and goes sleepmode/setting to Hibernate and wake up to the laptop.

But press the button above the keyboard and the touchpad is dead again.

Started from a Windows 7-LIVE CD, both keyboard and the touchpad remained dead.
Started from a live CD of Ubuntu Linux, keyboard works, no mather, you press the button for the touchpad, but the touchpad
    died.

Is there anything else I can try, or what I have to assume there's something defect requiring hardware repair/replacement?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards
    Jan

I plugged a USB keyboard and mouse, both work perfectly.

It's really strange... from my point of view of the rare, the mouse and external keyboard works properly, then the controller should be OK, and this means that the anomaly must be linked to the defective keyboard / touchpad.

But on the other hand, you said that the keyboard works correctly starting Linux Live CD.
For me, it makes no sense and I'm confused...

Anyway, given that the laptop has been disassembled to replace the screen and other parties, I think that something went wrong during this process and probably a part has been affected...

In my opinion, it is advisable to replace the keyboard and to check if it will fix the problem.

  • Aspires speaker microphone station e1-571 keyboard touchpad works

I have acer aspire laptop e1 - 571. a hinge of the laptop is damaged so I remove all laptop and I opened the laptop. then I remove the speaker and touchpad screen connection cable microphone keyboard. When I attach keyboard touchpad screen connection cable microphone and speaker.then all these stop working only display work. remove the other parts that I stop working.

For all three of those that no longer works after you disassembled the computer laptop and touvhed that the motherboard makes me believe that something hardware related took place.

I have another thing to try is turn it off, unplug and remove the battery, press and hold power for 30 seconds.

Plug it in and try it.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 notebook intermittent failure of keyboard

I have a HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 1 year old.  Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8 GB of Ram.  I have an external wired keyboard (Logitech K120) and a separate wireless mouse.  Frequently in the past few weeks, I noticed that the keyboard will fail once the laptop worked for a while, usually when the laptop is in "sleep".  I hear by fails, * TWO * external and the internal keyboard.  Nor will respond to any strikes at all.  Mouse control is fine, even when the keyboard has failed.

If I rebooted the system, it works well again.

I think that when I saw this before, I tried to disconnect the external keyboard, but that doesn't matter, because the integrated keyboard does not work or the other.

I guess this could result from certain automatic Windows driver installation or upgrade?  Does anyone have advice for the diagnosis or verification of current drivers?

I have just closed the lid of the laptop, to force the machine mode 'sleep'.  When I opened the lid, the system has taken over, I can log in via the scanner digital, the mouse works but the keyboard has disappeared.  I had to reboot the system, update this message.

    fmaurais,

    Try the following steps:

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> parameter of selective suspension of USB-> Disable (both)

Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Power Options-> change Plan (of the current plan selected) settings-> change the advanced power settings-> PCI-Express-> Link State Power Management-> Disable (both)

I read on a Microsoft page that is who can solve some problems "out of sleep."

    computerwhiz90,

I'll see if I can get a model of your laptop to see if I can reproduce the problem.

  • Pavilion DV7-6195us: replacement keyboard on a Pavilion DV7-6195us

I watched a couple videos on You Tube, but the Pavilion DV7 show is not the same as mine.

I know that there are many varieties of entertainment DV7 laptops.  One of the videos shows the cover that surrounds the keyboard as rupture near the top corners left and right of the keyboard. Mine is solid from before backward, and has a border of lighted (illuminated) around the touchpad.

My question: How can I ensure that the keyboard that I buy is good?

There are a lot of keyboards for sale on ebay and amazon and the prices range from $ 17 to $ 51 +.

If you know a video training here on the HP support site, please let me know.

    Thank you

You have misunderstood me. I buy one on Amazon. My only fear is that even if they say that they provide one of their warehouses, other buyers have to wait 50 days or more.

I've been waiting a ridiculous amount of time before, but it was through ebay, even if the seller claims a U.S. address.

    Hi H333,.

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it's a great place to find answers. You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that the Touchpad often stops responding, but the keyboard and mouse work fine.

On some laptop computers, you can enable or disable the TouchPad in double tapping in the upper left corner of the touch pad. Maybe it's happening and you are not aware of it.

Here is a link to use and troubleshoot the TouchPad and ClickPad (Windows 8).

    I hope this has helped.

  • Satellite A110: keyboard, touchpad, power problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110, purchased a few months before. In recent weeks, it started randomly locking the keyboard and the touchpad (with or without external mouse plugged - although an external mouse still works).

Now there is power to the top of the issues, with the suspended system Bios Toshiba screen, can fully initialize maybe once in five.
Acquisition of wireless network is also very temperamental. I tried this software I can think (new drivers/virus scan/uninstall-reinstall), with the exception of a reinstall full backup disk Toshiba.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think we should first find out if the problem is software or hardware related.
In this case the installation of the operating system with the Toshiba Recovery CD is recommended.
After installation, the laptop should work without worries.

But if the unit will hang and not start properly there could be something wrong with the hardware.
I think that your warranty is valid and in this case you should always contact the ASP in your county for a check.

  • Satellite Pro L40 keyboard + Touchpad inop after reboot

How are Hey peeps, we all?

I have a funny problem here. the keyboard and the touchpad do not work in windows or the BIOS, if I restart the computer, the same thing happens if it's just a battery or through food.

If I remove the battery and then replace and restart the keyboard and the mouse works absolutely perfectly to the I restart then (unless I have remove the battery again).

Is there something that reset which would prevent the touchpad and the keyboard work?

    Thank you very much

    James.

    That s a strange question.
Have you tried to update the BIOS? Check if you are using the latest version and update if a new version is available.

Generally it is not easy to say what could cause this problem
To be honest, I never heard a similar problem

To verify if a BIOS update will be help to settle this question, otherwise I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country for a solution!

  • 'Num Lock' keyboard issue w / Pavilion HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop

The HP Pavilion dv9000 Laptop has a built-in keyboard, which has a separate numeric keypad.  However, when I active blocking of numbers, it also changes my alpha characters to numbers, i.e. the letters j, k, l become 1,2,3 and you, i, o become 4,5,6.  Is this a problem with the keyboard drivers currently installed ("Standard PS/2 keyboard" and "HID Keyboard Device")?  Or y at - it a keyboard mapping setting that can fix this?

    Hello

It of a long shot, but is it possible that you may have lit keys of mouse by mistake?

To check, go to control panel, accessibility, accessibility, and then click the "make the keyboard easier to use" link under explore all parameters.

The box next to "Turn on mouse keys" is selected? If this is the case, clear the check box and click on apply or OK.

  • Satellite P850 - keyboard + Touchpad emits

    Ok

I can't seem to find a way of fixing, whether the cause of the problem.

    Here it is:

I've not had the laptop for this long and already think it's a terrible thing. When I start my laptop there is a 70% chance of the keyboard starting do not (it is until it happens to logon windows) then around 15% of chances does not start the touch pad. If the touchpad does not start then just shut down the computer laptop everything and start over, but there is a chance with the laptop unless I use the screen keyboard on connect then the keyboard will start working again. (about 80% chance) I'm sick of it.

I probably would have written this in the code.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Note: I tried uninstall, reinstall and restore the drivers, even the most recent search.

    Thank you
    EMZ

    What the BIOS update?
Check the version if it the last time.

What about the use of the external USB keyboard? Have you tested it?
    I would recommend this doing.
If you notice that the internal keyboard does not work, connect the external USB keyboard and test if the 2nd keyboard would work.
In case the USB keyboard would work properly, I recommend you to check the internal keyboard for hardware malfunction.

Of course we must also not forget check if its software problem.
