Failure of the Windows Configuration when performing disk recovery system.

I have a HP Pavilion model: A6838F product number: NC839AA #ABA, Serial #{removed privacy}, BIOS: V5.36 12/01/09

The drive has been recently replaced by a 750 GB Hitachi PN. 0F131179, SN. 5V06D3ZL

750 GB MLC:MRS5Q0 FW:5 Q 0 LBA:1.465.149.168 sectors CHS: 16383/16/63

New recovery discs were recently acquired by HP PN. 530238-001 build ID: 92NAv6PrA2, which corresponds to the identifier of the version on the sticker at the bottom of the CPU.

The recovery disks starts as expected and ran through all three discs and ask to remove then restarted the system and continued the installation. Everything seemed to work as expected until the part of the process where it indicates that the process is to configure windows for my computer - "Please wait while windows configures your computer." follow-up by "end of installing windows... installation." and so on...

After a while, the system displays a window indicating "Installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on this hardware of computers". It seems that the system is built almost and you have to configure windows, but he can't. Attempts to start the drive puts me in the loop where the system tries to configure Windows and fails.

I need help on this last hurdle. Suggestions?

After a lot of trial, tribulation and persistence, I found the solution to this problem. Hope it helps shorten the process of troubleshooting for someone else.

The answer lies in the following MSDN article:

  • Do I still need to run the Windows Firewall when I use Norton360?

Do I still need to run the Windows Firewall when I use Norton360?

    Hello

A firewall is software or hardware that checks information coming from the Internet or a network, then it blocks or allows it to pass through your computer, depending on your firewall settings.
A firewall can help prevent hackers or malicious software (such as worms) to access your computer through a network or the Internet. A firewall can also help stop your computer from malware sent to other computers.
A firewall is not the same thing as an antivirus program. To help protect your computer, you need a firewall and an antivirus and anti-malware program.

Norton 360 from Symantec's all-in-one security service that protects your computer and your data against today's Internet threats.

Norton 360 can be functioning as an antivirus, firewall, or offer according to your settings.

We recommend that you only have an antivirus and a firewall on your computer, the choice of what antivirus or firewall is yours.

  • Windows 7 update, showing the "verification requirements" when perform regular updates

    Hello, Microsoft community!

After that the icon 'Get Windows 10' came, the next thing that happens when I check for updates and windows updates, I click on install. It should display "Download updates" but instead of showing "Download windows 10" after have finished downloading the updates and when you install updates, instead of showing "Installing updates" it showed "Verification requirements". Once, I thought this was actually installing windows 10 even if I don't check in the optional updates, but I've found that is not the case.

In my taskbar and hidden icons section, I noticed the icon as usual windows update, but it says "Download updates" "Installing windows updates" instead of these notifications windows 10 weird?

    Help is greatly apperciated

You can find a solution more simple to: http://www.infoworld.com/article/2993131/microsoft-windows/disable-windows-10-upgrade-nagware-on-windows-7-windows-81-computers.html

Use the free GWX Control Panel app.

  • Updates the window appear when shutting down, but do not set up the next time you start

The display shows 15 updates of Windows are loaded (installed?) when the machine is stopped.  To restart Windows, the screen indicates "wait" while the updates are being configured.  The icon indicates that the configuration is current, but the screen always said that "0% are completed.  Then, after a few minutes, the screen indicates something as "installation failed; Revenant.  After the message 'return', the machine moves to the usual Windows 7 start page and asking to connect you as usual (which allows me to work on the machine).   So, the next time I shut down Windows, the screen indicates that the installation of several updates continues and is completed in series.  Then, the next time I turn on the machine it asks to wait while updates are configured;  and finally, it "fails to complete the configuration" and "resets" as described above.  What happened several times in the last two days.  What should I do to get this resolved failure?

    Hello

    1. What is the description which are impossible to install updates?

    2. What is the message exact error do you get when you try to install updates?

    d. When you are prompted, click open to install the update.

Method 4: You can also try to perform the system restore , safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

Note: When the computer is in safe mode, System Restore does not restore points. Therefore, you can not undo a restoration you performed when the computer is in safe mode.

  • Screws disappear from the windows taskbar when running

    Hello!

It is a strange happening in the world when running LabVIEW 2014 or 2015 on Windows 7.  When the VI property-> the appearance of the window-> Custom-> customize-> box 'allow to minimize the user window"is unchecked the VI disappears from the taskbar when running.  It is moderately annoying, anyone know if there is a good reason for this behavior without papers?  Other than to keep the box checked, is there another way to prevent that from happening? I don't really feel like swapping through all possible combinations. :-)

I am trying to build an audit tool to extract the Windows of my environment settings, and it compares with planning what I defined. This baseline scenario specifies in detail what settings should be enabled / disabled / how it should be configured.

Because it is a large scale environment, and I know exactly what I need, I would build a tool of mine.  I've used such gpresult and secedit commands to get the settings but I can't get all the settings.  I've already got many settings in the registry, but it works to be a bit heavy.

Most of the settings I need are in gpedit.msc, services.msc, although I can't get in/out these values by using a script.

    For example -.
Store passwords using reversible encryption for all users in the domain = on (or off)

This setting is in gpedit, but I can't find this setting in the registry / other functions of command line.  I noticed that most of the information is readily available in gpedit.msc / services.msc although I don't know how to automate the extraction of these parameters.

Could you please help to automate the extraction of these parameters?  I want ths process is transparent to the user / server administrator to reduce the interaction required for the information.  A macro will not allow the extraction of these parameters, while the computer is locked.

I'm looking for Windows 2003, XP and 7.
