We see link below

Create the ASM Partitions in Solaris and add them as records of ACEs

In architecture, Sparc, solaris disk is subdivided into 8 slices.

This is the current configuration of these eight slices:

slice 0: contains the files and directories that make up the operation

System *.

Unit 1: Swap, provides virtual memory or swap space.

Unit 2: refers to the disk set, by convention. The size of this

slice cannot be changed.* *.

Unit 3: / export, holds different versions of the operating system.

Unit 4: / export/swap. Provides virtual memory space for the customer

systems. ***

slice 5: large chocks software added to a system.

Unit 6: / usr. Contains commands for operating system - also known under the name

executables - designed to be run by the users.

Group 7: / home. Contains files created by users.

* Cannot be used as ASM disk. The use of this installment involves alteration of the disc

and can make the disc unusable.

* Should not be used as ASM virtual disk, slice refers to the entire disk

(Including the partition tables).

Is the range recommended to use for ASM disk.

in accordance with the recommendation of the DSO we had used unit 4 the same

so we had to diagnose details and came to know that must be used

[/ dev/rdsk/emcpower2e, / dev/rdsk/emcpower6e, / dev/rdsk/emcpower8e]

e make the unit 4

We had use below evolution silent file and it works fine

  • An another [FATAL] [INS-30131], this time with 11.2.0.4 and AIX 7.1

    Hello guys, this is my question about INS-30131 on AIX 7.1 and Oracle DB 11.2.0.4 error

    I noticed there are a lot of mistakes like this on OTN networks, and I tried the following possible solutions:

    1. develop / tmp to 2 G;

    2. change $TMP variable, so it would point to a larger FS;

    3. change the permissions of the directory $TMP, including: 1777, one + wr and 777

    4 created under various owners, including $TMP: location: location (default), root: System (after following the installation guide) and oracle: oinstall.

    5. I've tried silent installation;

    But I still get the error. I followed the step by step installation guide. And I can write in the temporary directories when using the oracle user. I can touch, vi and cp $TMP files, I have same cp´d the installation of oracle zip files in / tmp (up to 2 G) with success.

    The software is correct, I have checksum´d files and they´re OK.

    I do not use ASM or CI.

    I download 11.2.0.2 so I can test if this is a problem of version. I´ll you inform to happen.

    Best regards

    Matt

    I managed to make it work. Hope it help other users. The error that showed the newspaper was:

    SEVERE: Installation failed [fatal] [INS-30131] Initial required for execution of the controls of the installer.

    CAUSE: Cannot access the temporary location.

    ACTION: Make sure the current user has required permissions to the temporary location.

    So I did everything I could to resolve the problem/tmp. The problem just disappeared when I made as follows:

    1. installs the installation zip files - files 1 and 2 of 7 - to a Linux machine using scp Pei (option Preserve);

    2 chmod´d 644 both files, you know, just in case.

    3. has generated the MD5 checksum for both files. There was a game;

    4 unzipped both files, Linux;

    5 return to AIX, again using scp Pei and-r (recursive), for all of the directory;

    6. connected to AIX and ran YES. Worked like a charm.

    Down the line: it is indeed a problem of permission, but not in regard to / tmp. The didn t of log files show any hint, but fixing permissions of Installer solved the problem.

    Best regards

  • 11 GR 2 Grid Infrastructure install - with normal redundancy ASM disk group requires 3 disks?

    Hello

    I want to install 11 GR 2 grid Infrastructure in a new environment in cluster - 2 nodes). I use the 11.2.0.4 GI Installer on Oracle Linux 6.5 x 86-64

    However when it is in the installer of GI, it comes to choose the storage Option - I choose ASM disk groups.

    Then change the path of discovery to pick up my candidate ASM disks.

    I enter the disk group name SIR give Normal redundancy, choose 2 discs of candidate and then press < next > to Setup.

    However, I gives me the message

    [INS-30510] Insufficient number of ASM disks selected

    The number of selected disks was inadequate for the level of redundancy selected

    For a disk group with redundancy level "Normal" disks at least "3" are recommended

    I always thought that Redunancy Normal required only 2 discs and high redundancy requires 3 disks?

    No idea what is gpoing?

    Thank you

  • Reinstallation of Oracle 11 g 2 RAC grid problem - ASM disk group

    People,

    Hello.

    I want to install Oracle 11 g RAC 2 with 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 which BONES are Oracle Linux 5.6) in VMPlayer.

    I was installing Infrastructure of grid using runInstaller in the first rac1 VM from step 1 to step 9/10.

    On 9/10 in the wizard step, by chance, I touch the mouse, and the wizard disappeared.

    The grid in the 2 VMs installation directory is the same: / u01

    I have to make sure that everything is correct, delete the directory/U01 to 2 virtual machines and install again the grid in rac1.

    I realized that this is not the right way to remove/U01. The right way is to follow the tutorial
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/install.112/e22489/rem_orcl.htm#CBHEFHAC

    But I have deleted/U01 and must correct one by one. I reinstall the grid and get the error message in step 5 of 9 as follows:

    [INS - 30516] Please specify unique disk groups.
    [INS-3050] ASM disk group empty.
    Cause - the installer has detected the name of Group of disk already exists on the system.
    Action - specify the different disk group.

    In the wizard, the old disk group name is 'DATA' and his candidate records (5 ASMDISKs) are gone. I try to use another name "DATA2", but no ASMDISKs are "candidate records. For "All discs", it is impossible to select all ASMDISKs.

    I want to use the same disk group ASM 'DATA' and do not want to create a new disk group.

    My question is:

    How to make previous ASM disks and his group of 'DATA' therefore "Candidate records" who can use again?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite 1700-300 on windows Millennium Edition. Haven't used for a few years, but when I'm past it the other day the screen says: invalid system disk. I put in my laptop recovery disk, but he cut in halfway through with the message: ERROR F3D failed.

    Not really sure what I'm doing and really can't afford a new!

    Help would be thank you very much!

    To be honest, I also think that there is a problem with the HARD drive.

  • Need help: invalid system disk error

    I must have left my laptop on the week last with only a small battery backup as victory, that I woke up in the morning, he had absolutely no power.  When I plugged the laptop and I tried to reboot it wasn't going to the normal microsoft vista home page.

    Instead of this turned back or the system bios and on the top of the screen, he said.  Invalid system disk error.  I pressed ESC and immediately thereafter loaded up normally.  Once on the page of windows, he showed he was about 8 windows updates.  (this every way - when I left my computer on automatic update of windows, running and starting to update my computer.  Since I only had a remaining battery minimum computer must have lost all power during the update.  Because update has not been completely loaded my computer now has a problem starting).

    Whenever I turn on computer, need me the black screen with the comment of the system disk error.  While hitting escape when this screen is easy to do and makes windows vista starts normally - I'd rather have a completely normal vista installation program.

    Help, please.

    What should I do?

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
    See you soon.
  • os vs ASM disk size
    Hello
    When I compare the size of the operating system disks, each is 2.6 to.
    But when I look at ASM, they are 2 TB each.
    I'm reasonably sure, not 100%, I've created with external redundancy, so I thought the asm disks would be the same size as the operating system.
  • If you use network storage, configure ASM disks with external redundancy groups
    Hi Experts,
    If you use network storage, configure ASM disks with external redundancy groups. Don't use groups of Oracle ASM failure. Oracle failure groups consume cycles additional CPU and can run in unpredictable ways after suffering from a disk failure. When you use external redundancy, disk failure are transparent to the database and do consume no additional database CPU cycle, because it is discharged on storage processors.
    This does not mean
    • RAID 1 + 0 for diskgroup + REDO1
    • RAID 1 + 0 for diskgroup + REDO2
    • RAID 5 for diskgroup + DATA
    • RAID 5 for diskgroup + FRA
  • Resync ASM disk in 12 c
    Hello
    Please can someone tell what is the difference between ASM resynchronization and consolidation of disk drive?
    Are they different? If so, what is re-synchronization happens and when to rebalance?
    Thank you
    Fast ASM disk Resync is used to recovery failure a failure to make temporarily unavailable group is considered transient failures.
    As the disconnection of the cable, controller failures or interruptions of supply disk or host bus adapter current.
    You just put a time (duration) where ASM Diskgroup will be to track all the changes up to recover this failure. If records are retrieved using the last State when, down disc Resync then update all the blocks on the disk recovered from survive failgroup.
    If drive failure is not picked up within the window of time, records are automatically removed from the diskgroup.
    The process of adding these drive broke diskgroup start the rebalancing process.
    Resynchronization occurs when updating the out-of-sync disk track.
    Rebalancing occurs when data are not balanced or when to add new disc on diskgroup.
  • Antivirus with ASM disk considerations
    Hi all
    We are currently running Oracle 10 g on Windows Server 2008 R2 using file storage system.  We seek to upgrade to 11g and use of ASM disks rather than the file system.  I am aware that there are many considerations here, but I have been asked specifically about how RAW disks and our antivirus will interact.  For the moment, we use the Center Endpoint Protection system on the database server, and then exclude us certain types of files associated with Oracle (DBF, CTL etc.).  This configuration meets the DBA and infrastructure.  Once we start using ASM if, something will have to change because we will not be able to exclude specific file types.
    I would be interested in advice / opinion that anyone was around that.  More precisely:
    1. is it possible for a disc of ASM to be infected by a virus?
    2. the AV software is even capable of preventing infections on ASM disks? (maybe its not relevant according to the answer to the first question)
    3. we are likely to see some performance issues with AV software running on our database server, because the current set up described above works fine but is replaced by ASM disks?
    Any help or advice welcome
    Thank you
    Andrew
    Disc GROSS means that there is no file system. No virus software can analyze the volumes of the ASM, which can only be used by an Oracle database and what data structure is known only for Oracle. Unless you install any ACF volume, which allows the storage of ASM data that can be accessed by the operating system, software Anti Virus cannot analyze data.
    However, the Anti Virus software can interfere with e/s of Oracle applications, which you will certainly not want and that has really no sense. Unfortunately, any installation which is connected to the Internet without any protection against the malware running MS Windows is a suicide. To be honest, I never want to install and run the Oracle database on a MS-Windows Server and see no valid reason for it. There are much better alternatives, such as Oracle Linux, which is also free.
  • Analyze the index on the machine of Dataguard and redundancy of ASM disks
    Dear friends,
    I have two questions regarding disc Dataguard and ASM.
    (> > 1) for best performance, periodically, we rebuild the index index and analysis analyze table. What is the best periodic steps to do to get better performance?
    I mean, first of all is rebuilding of index, is second index analysis and so on......
    (> > 2) if I run analyze the index or the table on my PRODUCTION system he replicated this effect on statndby dataguard automatic system? If so, how it is replicated?
    (> > 3) my last question related with high redundancy of the ASM disk. I have some confusion on this area.
    Let's say I have 10 disks in a diskgroup '+ DATA' and I did 'HIGH' level redundancy, means 3 way redundancy. Here I know 3-way the redundancy, it writes data on 3 discs at a time. But what of the other 7 discs. In fact, I need to know the mechanism of writing?
    -Each disc is identical to the other drive?
    -For HIGH redundancy, how many disk failure can be tolerated for any loss of data?
    Waiting for your kind reply......
    "on my PRODUCTION'---> you mean"on my FIRST.
    Yes, the data dictionary is updated when you run dbms_stats.gather% and updates data dictionary are through recovery that applies to the WAITING for more.
    NOLOGGING surgery would not be applied to the expectation (the index would be marked corrupted to the standby) unless you have set on FORCELOGGING.
