Favourite Add - ons disappear between sessions

When I start my computer lately, about three of my favorite FF (ver. 33.1.1) modules are installed is no longer. It's Lazarus, X-notify and theme and size Changer.I fonts can reinstall them manually, but it becomes a pain to do. I find that when I reinstall the Add-ons seem to remember my previous settings, such as X-notify, who always has my Hotmail and password accounts when I reinstall. Please advise, thank you!

After reading this article and all the comments, it ends with a message by Lukas (avast!, I guess) says:

"Browser cleaning team is currently working on a fix, which will be delivered via a VPS update soon (tomorrow)."

So, it looks very promising!

My plug-ins and the characters and the Favorites are still there but where my addons go and how I get them and their data?

  • I refreshed Firefox, now all my Add-ons disappeared and worst parameters associated with them are gone too. Where I could find to put the 'old'?

At the suggestion of Firefox, I refreshed, now all my Add-ons disappeared and worst parameters associated with them are gone too. Where I could find to put the 'old'?

When updating Firefox, it creates a folder on the desktop called "old Firefox data." According to Firefox, it's when my old settings were saved. The question to the community, it is where I can move some of these old settings (and what are those FireFPT) to restore my old settings. Time Machine using nothing else that place an old version of FireFox in my app folder.

  • Add tabs and toolbar add-ons disappeared at the opening of the browser closed.

I've deleted and reinstalled 17.01 three times now. The first time was to enter my bank site. The second because I still had problems with the download. My browser has been working well for a few weeks. I was using the browser, it closed with open tabs (oh, and I have an open tab alert, since the upgrade to 17). Normally, when I reopen it the browser, all the tabs are there and open. This time, the tabs were opened but my add tool bar on top has been closed, even though it has been verified to be opened. I closed the browser and reopened and was not just add it to the toolbar gone, but now all tabs have disappeared also. I uninstalled and reinstalled 17.01, and nothing has changed. I came to hate 17 with a passion.

And, no, I have not installed anything new, and I did not tab mix (what ever that is) add on.

I don't know if restarting the computer has changed the situation or not. The site of the Bank developed after the reboot.

I am so angry, I lost a whole day dealing with this mess. And yet, I can't be sure that something will happen.

I know that you tried to help me and I would be grateful, but everything I see right now is a ton of work a head of me, that I did not honestly.

  • I started firefox in safe mode. Now all my Add-ons disappeared, my favorites, my preferences... everything! What is hell?

Here's what was contained in the dialog box. I checked all the boxes and choose the option "make changes and restart". Nothing has emerged to indicate that I was doing permanent changes... no type 'Are you sure you want to do' things... nothing.

    Firefox Safe mode

Firefox is now running in safe mode, which temporarily turns off your custom settings, themes and extensions.

You can do any or all of these permanent changes:

[] disable all add them ons
    [] reset toolbars and controls
[] delete all bookmarks except for backups
[] reset all default user preferences
    restore default search engines]

[make changes and restart] [Continue in safe mode] [output]

You can restore the bookmarks from the most recent backup of JSON.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Backing_up_and_restoring_bookmarks_-_Firefox

You can re-enable the extensions in tools > Modules > Extensions

You will have to redo the customization of the toolbar and preferences in tools > Options

  • What is the difference between extensions and Plugins and Add-ons?

I'm sorry if here is not the right place for this post.

What is the difference between extensions and Plugins and Add-ons? Apparantely, they differ in some sense or aspect, but I do not know how. Please, if it is not too complicated, explain in detail and simple language. Thanks in advance to 1 million.

    Kind regards
    Danesh

    Hi Danesh,

You should take a look at this article for an explanation. Plugins and extensions are essentially types of Add-ons as well as of the characters and themes.

    Hope this helps!

Upgrade to 3.6.15. Now my Add ons (1 password, Download Helper, Multi line Bookmark Toolbar) disappeared. Everyone knows about this problem? Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank you.

There may be a problem with one of the files which stores details of the installed extensions. Try to delete these files as described in the section "Corrupt extension files" of this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons

Although this article is not specifically about your problem, the method indicated in the corrupted files extension section can help. When you restart Firefox after you delete these files, the list of installed extensions is rebuilt and cela hopefully solve your problem.

  • Add-ons Manager disappears when I try to use it

    This has happened

I started trying to resolve why Firefox crashes.

    Hello Ben.

It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.

If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

  • Firefox tab disappeared, have mysearchdial. No program of mysearchdial in installed programs impossible to uninstall. no way to manage add-ons with or without tab firefox orange

Could not find a way to get rid of mysearchdial. no tab orange browser firefox so can't get to manage no Add ons and any program mysearchdial in the installed programs in Control Panel, so it is impossible to uninstall.

tried to change the home page but no matter what I do, mysearch dial remains there. went to mysearchdial web page, followed their instructions, no use. Tried to run malwarebytes anti-malware and it has not seen anything like that. my browser opens really slow. The Microsoft Security Essentials is not helping either. I tried booting from the ERD, start did not find any problem. the search on my computer for mysearchdial or something unknown shows nothing. ran put utilities at the point in the registry, found nothing.

What should I try next? Thank you very much.

    Hello

The easiest way is probably to make a Reset of Firefox. This will return Firefox to its default settings. Your personal data (bookmarks, history, etc.) will be saved, but you will have to reinstall all your addons.

Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings

If you don't arrive in the Firefox Orange menu to do the reset and then close Firefox and then hold down the SHIFT key while you open it. This will bring up a menu that gives you the ability to reset Firefox.

The problem is that (as you've identified) there is a chance that Firefox will get hijacked again if you are unable to remove malware from your computer.

You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:

I also suggest looking at the list of programs for starting and turning off one you don't want to or don't recognize. All that is originally from the diversion of mysearchdial is likely to be listed in the startup list, because he wants to run as soon as the computer starts.

I hope this helps. Let me know if not.

  • After the upgrade to Firefox 10, all my Add ons have disappeared. How to reactivate their

This morning I upgraded to 10 FF of the previous version. It worked well. After start-up the computer mode sleep and by opening the home page of firefox, I was shocked to discover that none of my previous Add ons (extensions) were available, even if it was there earlier after the upgrade.

I think I solved the problem. I restarted my computer and then restart Mozilla Firefox. When the web page opens, all the add ons that I had previously appeared on the tab bar, with a request to reinstall. After completing all applications and restart firefox, all the addons is back as before and proved to work well. This solved my problem

  • I found a Visual bug using the latest Firefox and several add-ons, who do I contact to talk about?

I would illustrate it rather using a screenshot that describing it. Anyway, I don't know what add-on, or a combination, but the first line under the 'View' menu bar element is empty, that's it - a minor problem. I do not know who to contact to display this glitch, is there anyone open to or interested by this feedback?

You can attach a screenshot here in your next post, if you wish.

We are interested, but you're going to have to help us. We are just a group of volunteers here balance our busy lives while offering support for Firefox. Since you already have all the addons installed, it will be much easier for you to understand who is the cause of this parasite.

This is no easy task for us. If you are going to need know exactly what addon is causing this problem if you want to be just about that and give a decent chance to resolve this to the author of the addon.

Since you have so many addons, I is advisable to disable at least 5 addons at once, restart Firefox and then check "Show" to see if the problem has disappeared. If Yes, then you need to focus your attention on individual activation & deactivation these 5 addons until you see the glitch to return. Then you know what addon to blame. I bet it's Menu Icons Plus or personal Menu.

  • I just updated Firefox and now it crashes, does not not tabs or add-ons, and the user interface is all messed up.

I was power off update of Firefox for a while because I knew some of my modules aren't compatible yet, and the main reason I use firefox is because of the multitude of modules. Finally today I decided to go and let it install. As soon as he returns to the top, it's completely different from the way I had my firefox. The buttons are all moved around, each tab has two Xs to close with the back button does not work, there is no way to scroll more tags do not take on the screen and for some reason the firefox button is not collapse in the main beam.

My session has not been restored, either, which really annoyed me, because I had a very high volume of open tabs. Right now I just want to come back, because I hate what happened, but I know that's not possible.

I'm sorry to hear that you have so many questions. What version of Firefox you used before?

The problem of double title bar has been identified as a problem with the extension of the tax Mix Plus but it does not affect everyone, there is an interaction with something else (not exactly what clear although Norton Toolbar has been mentioned in a thread).

There is a new version available that you can try. If Firefox is stable enough to do...

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons > ' gear' icon > check updates

If your beta version does not update, you can try to install from the Add-ons site.

More generally, can I suggest disabling the extensions as much as you can live without for 24 hours and gradually reactivate? This should help isolate the interactions between them. As you know, you can do so here:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

Finally, about your old session, if you have not closed Firefox, you could find a sessionstore.bak file in your profile folder that contains your old session. For easy access to this file, try

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Grab a copy of this file and save it somewhere outside the folder because it is overwritten when you close Firefox. Had to run, but if find you one with a suitable date, a person can help you to restore.
