  Thank you got the quick answer. How did you install the software and drivers for your JO 4500?

  To start, I suggest below:

  1. Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the dialog box run, type % temp %

  2. Delete all files and folders in the temp folder. Choose Skip if all pop ups seem to say all files cannot be deleted

  3. Uninstall the software again - uninstall the printer software Instructions

  4. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer

  5. Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.

  • Hold down the key of the Windows Logo on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the dialog box run

  • In the Open box, type

    msiexec /Unregister

    and then click OK.

  • Hold down the key of the Windows Logo on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the dialog box run

  • In the Open box, type

    msiexec/regserver

    then click OK

  * Note: there is a space between the c and the /.

• OfficeJet 4500: office jet 4500 pages come out blank

  I have a hp Office Jet 4500.  Lately when I print only blank pages come out.  It is still ink in the black cartridge, so I cleaned it according to the instructions from hp (printer only in manual mode). I still get blank pages.  I guess I have to buy a new ink cartridge, because sometimes they dry out before they are empty, but now I'm not sure that's the problem.

  This may seem a stupid question, (I don't know the correct names for parties), but is the bar with light, supposed to go under the glass when she prints?  I lifted the hood to see what was wrong and I noticed it wasn't moving, even if the light was on.  I never paid attention to the printer while it was working properly.  I would like to know whether to fix it before I have to waste money on an ink cartridge.  I know that the digital display informs you if there is a power outage, but it didn't.  Otherwise, the printer goes through its motions normally.

  I read your post on how your Officejet 4500 is print is no longer with the ink to print outs. I want to help you!

  The bar with light I think you describe looks like this mechanism to scan, which does not move when you make prints, so I don't see that the question. The question seems sound, as for me, would be the printhead to the printer. I say this because you have tried to change ink already and the pages are always feel empty, when normally change the cartridge would help and fix this type of problem.

  Having said that, I suggest that try you this guide and try the steps it will list. It may possibly fix the problem of blank page for you. If not and the problem does not go away, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options.

  If the problem is that when brought to PDF, try the steps below...

  Open the PDF doucument.

  Click file > properties.  Document properties will be displayed.
  To the title of the window ' Properties of the Document ', click on the "Security" tab.

  Check if "print: license'." " If it's probably not you will not be able to print.

  If not try the procedure below.
  File > print. Ensure that PSC 2175 is selected, and then click 'advance ' at the bottom.
  Make sure 'Print as Image ' is to have check. Click OK. And click OK again to print.

  I see by your post that the printer makes a clicking noise some time, then disappears.
  I can help you with this problem.

  The problem may be caused by a transport stand, a paper jam or scan bulb movement.

  Make sure that the product is directly connected to a grounded wall outlet and not plugged into a power strip.

  Recently changed one of the cartridges?

  Remove and reinsert the cartridges to ensure that they are properly installed in the device.

  Look for any obstruction or broken in the transport path part.

  I'd do a power reset to see if that will solve the problem.

  When the printer is still lit, disconnect the power cable to the back of the printer, if the printer has external power supply with a detachable power cord unplug for 15 seconds and reconnect it.
  Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain the power.

  Then, disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet.

  Wait 10 seconds and reconnect the power cable to the wall outlet first, then the back of the printer and turn on again.

  If the problem persists then I recommend you to call HP Technical Support to get help to see what other options are available to you. Contact HP worldwide.

  I bought new computer and cannot install my hp office jet 4500 all in one printer. This printer is not compatible with this computer. At i7 processor. I tried to use insatallation disk.. successful. I tried HP support online. has failed.

  We will try these steps and check for the difference:

  1. From the start menu type folder in the search bar and open the Temp folder listed.
  2. Open the foider of installation of HP, it will be listed as HP or 7z * (e.g. 7zs1234)
  3. Open the installation folder.
  4. Find and rename usbready.exe to usbready1.exe.
  5. Browse a level upwards and launch Setup.exe

  Now follow the installation and check for the difference.

  I have an Office Jet 4500 G510n and a MacBook Pro 15 2006 2 late model, worm 10.6.8

  I upgraded to an SSD HD and everything works find except the printer. I can go to the utility and the TEST PAGE prints OK.

  However, the STATUS, it reads: "error/library/Printers/hp/cups/inkjet1.driver/contents/macos/injet/failed."

  I checked the drivers and all I saw were for the Page 'extra '...

  Lost!

  Research on the HP support site, I found that under Mac OSX, they auto download updates for printing. Did not transfer my old HD to a SSD who follow these updates... they do not have. Then... I downloaded all updates (pilot) to my new SSD and the works of the HP printer!

  I'm not an expert but I installed a printer a bit in my life and man, this one gives me grey hair.

  I am running Windows 7 32 bit on a HP Pavillion Multimedia Series.

  I tried with or without Firewall, unisatall reinstall awhile, use the floppy disk or download the software/driver of HP, zit, nada nothig, still the same error

  I understand that you have the a runtime error when trying to install your HP Officejet 4500 on your Windows 7 system. I provided you a few steps to try below which should clear up this place for you and you can install the software correctly.

  Step 1. Click on start and open the command prompt

  Step 2. Type %temp% in the field run and press ENTER.

  Step 3. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)

  Step 4. Open the Util folder

  Step 5. The CCC folder

  Step 6. Run uninstall_L3 (exe or Bat)

  Step 7. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer

  When you computer goes back to the top, try to reinstall your software.

  I know that in the old days of dial-up Modem software such has been ubiquitous.

  Sorry, there is no functionality of software to allow the Pc to act as the answering machine. The answering machine is connected to the printer because it detects the printer calls.

  When a call comes, the printer reacts and reads as follows the line of the signals. He sends the call to the correct line (fax, phone or answering machine). This is the reason why the answering machine is connected to the printer. The computer will not be able to accept or guided calls or pick them up. Thanks for asking though, maybe in the future.

• Hang on a MacBook Pro to Office Jet 4500

  I'm on OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. Hooked up to the 4500 via the USB. Downloaded and installed the driver HP especially with success (even if at the end of the instalation utility attempts to "communicate with the printer" and unresponsive, requiring a force quit).

  I tried many methods to print then my MacBook, but the utility automatically opens and says "sending data to the printer" indefinitely.

  Operating system is up-to-date, have to reset Office Jet. Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and utility. Still does not work. Help?

• Can print but not scan in Windows 8.1 to HP Office Jet 4500 510n-z

  New computer over the weekend with Windows 8 is installed.  Updated to 8.1online My HP Office Jet all-in-one 4500 prints well, but I have no way to scan.   I tried to use the HP website to download and install the driver.  When it comes to the installation page, it crashes just on the page you are trying to communicate with my printer.   Can't get through this page.

  I also tried the utility HP Print and Scan doctor.   It recognizes my HP all-in-one, but when he goes to the first step in communication with the selected product, you get about 3/4 fact and then it just hangs.

  I tried disabling my firewall.  Still no luck.

  I tried to go to Device Manager and it searched updated drivers.  It indicates that the driver is up-to-date.

  I tried Windows Fax and Scan.  When I select New Scan, it says that I don't have a scanner installed.

  Somewhere, there is a big mistake in this mess, allowing no my printer and Windows allow this pilot be fixed.  Help!

  Problem solved.    I tried installing with the complete set of drivers, but this time I disabled the Norton Firewall and Norton Antivirus.  It worked fine then.
