  -Lot controls in the FDM workbench are as follows:

  Batch type - Standard

  Level of process - import

  Process method - series (I tried both serial and Parallel)

  Filename delimiter - _ (underscore stroke)

  -Batch file names follow the instructions in the Administrator's guide - < version > _ < location > _ < category > _ < period > _RR.txt (e.g. 1_TESTING_ACTUAL_Q1 - 2012_RR.txt)

  -J' also checked and the FDM data in the shared drive folder comes with a complete access control (read/write).

  -Batch files have been moved to another file sibiling as OpenBatch with a unique name, but the data could not import into the locations.

  -J' also created and launched the script from a web client and the batch workbench.

  I look at what has gone wrong... I want to ask you expert advice. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

  Thanks a lot for all your response. This issue is resolved as soon as possible and I want to just share what we have done and close this post.

  By my team, the FDM Task Manager has not been configured properly for the loader commands to run. Therefore,.

  1. to configure the FDM Task Manager

  For the file name, such as we would use the description for the period (e.g. T1 - 2012), so

  2. we need to enable the setting "Allows a description custom period." (in the Admin--> Configuration); and

  3. put the spaces between Q1-2012 in file naming for batch loading (for example, we cannot put ___Q1 2012.txt, must be ___Q1 - 2012.txt)

  The batch charger works fine now.

• Scripts custom FDM HFM control (for example, perform a translate in HFM) after data FDM load via the batch Loader

  Currently, we have a Microsoft Access database + VBA Scripts that use the HFM API objects to connect to the HFM application to perform the following tasks:

  (1) delete the data according to a specific POV HFM

  (2) load some data from a text file to the request of HFM

  (3) run a Consolidation of data in HFM with 3 different POV

  (4) running a data translate in HFM with a specific POV.

  (5) when the process is complete, HFM send one connects e-mail to Hyperion administration team with newspapers.

  We want to replace this database MS Access with FDM.

  Custom script of FDM, I am able to run batch loader to load data at our request of HFM.

  However, FDM, I want to connect to our HFM application to perform a consolidation (in HFM) and also a Translate (in HFM) after that the data has been loaded by the loader of FDM data.

  The question I have is that I can't use the VB Scripts following FDM (this code works in MS Access)

  When I run this code of FDM, I get the following (of Financial Data Management Workbench) error message

  (1) is it possible to control via the Scripts VB FDM HFM realize some tasks such as claire HFM, Consolidation and HFM HFM translate?

  (2) if so, How can I reference objects in FDM HFM VB Scritp editor [custom general] (to use the HFM API via scripts VB FDM objects)?

• Batch load fails on export

  Experts,

  Test us now on a new server environment and you encounter a problem with a batch that is currently operating without issue on our current production environment.  We import, validate and export a file in FDM in our 'Real' category and the batch then retrieves the file in the Outbox, re-imports, valid and exports to a second category of "ActSeg".  We have implemented the task on the Task Manager FDM, event script and script custom exactly the same on the new environment either on the current environment of the PRD.  As I said, this process will run without problem on the current economic situation, but in the new PRD, it stops at the export stage.

  Your error log, it looks like FDM is unable to establish a connection with the server HFM. What the user is your batch process runnung under and makes that the user has rights to access the HFM target application?

  I inherited the company Hyperion and I am a user of essbase, which now is work of HFM.
  
  A user wants to support access to a specific entity in HFM. Make:

  (a) Yes. Even if they have access FDM to a location that corresponds to the HFM entity, they will not be able to actually export/load HFM data without access to good security.
  (b) it depends a bit. If the new entity is loaded as a piece of a book / existing location, you will need to just update the map of the entity for the existing location. If it's a totally new company, then you can go the whole nine yards and create the location of FDM, etc. and entity HFM, cards.

  I need to get data out of Essbase using FDM to export more.
  
  I am faced with a situation where I need a script to run NOT on a month-by-month, but in a batch interface / multiload fashion.
  Using the Multiload is as far as I use it for users by selecting import files - then only to file based locations.
  
  Due to security reasons I need a shell script (such as users are not allowed to see import files from other users).
  
  So far, I have solved this problem via a batch processing tool that runs on the server only = > problem is that users running the interface cannot start the tool batch on the server because of security restrictions.
  
  Is there a built / customized as to run a script in a way post-job Interface, so that a user selects for example January - December, since several years and charges it based on FDM deployed scripts (these can also run in the background).
  
  I'm open to suggestions / ideas where to look.

  You can run a command to a workflow script in the FDM GUI web.

  (1) in the Batchloader on the server write a batch script
  (2) Insert the following lines shows the code at the top of the Batch Script under decalrations variables (this allows it to be called from the web)

  No, not in native mode. FDM charges Essbase during the loading at planning. It does not interact with the relational repository.

• Is it Possible to have 2 methods to load different run a lot in a typical Application of FDM?

  We run FDM Classic 11.1.2.3.00 with an ES11XG4-K adapter.  We have a request from FDM with 2 locations using the load method to replace. Is it possible have 2 slots have loads different methods; This is a have to use the Replace method and the other a fusion method run on a lot? If Yes, can someone guide me how to do it?

  See the classical FDM Administrator's Guide.  Batch loader files have a name format for specific file with the segment identifiers - starts ~ rental ~ Category ~ Period ~ LoadMethod.txt

  The tag of the Load method is a two-character segment.  The second character identifies the method load application target, for example "A" to append and 'R' to replace.  I think that's what you're looking for.

• Loading of statistical accounts have erased on FDM

  In our environment of FDM (V9.3.3), P & L and B/S checking balances are charged via FDM then as operating statistics, such as personnel are entered manually through data form.

  For load FDM, users always choose mode of 'Replace' to ensure that, when P & L and B/S checking balances are downloaded, any previous support is disabled.

  However, because of this (we believe), all non - P & L, no-B/S of data such as operating statistics / numbers etc. are also get deleted.

  Is this a normal behavior of FDM?

  How we configure FDM in such a way that, when data are loaded in HFM via FDM, these operating statistics / actual data cannot be erased even when users choose the mode "replace"?

  Is this possible? If so, how?

  Yes, this is a normal behavior, and is not specific FDM because it is HFM, which is actually the "replace". When you load using replace HFM will erase, for each unique view (scenario, year, period, entity) in the load data, the corresponding values of the application. That is why any data not in your FDM load in one of the unique POVs, in your cases manually entered data will be deleted. Fortunately, there are several ways to prevent this. FDM has a feature called Data Protection that should help you keep your data entered manually. Read the article in the FDM Administrator's guide or follow this link which has a good overview Data Protection explained | The Source of Information of FDM

  It's true. If you do not select this option, you will not be able to use the batch of FDM magazine feature. See the section in the administration guide FDM which covers the Batch Loader feature and what it does.

• Automation of loading the data of single application FDM for different applications

  Friends, my query is somewhat complex. I have 6 (two in Hyperion Planning, two HPCM) and two in Hyperion Essbase applications. I copied the adapter in the Workbench and renamed accordingly to load the data for each of them. Now the problem is I want to automate the data load for each of these requests, but don't know how it's done. Through many forums to get a better understanding but no luck!

  You would automate this process via the Batch Loader integrated with FDM. The process to use this is exactly the same as you have one or more target applications. The ultimate target application is based on the name of the place incorporated into the batch processing file naming convention. Each of your adapters different target will be associated with one or more locations in your configuration of metadata location FDM.
