• Menu items hang on the screen randomly

  I have a problem with my vista 64 machine.  The menu items to hang on the screen after being selected.  That one hangs at the time, and the same that one can suspend all day, or change at one point to the other.  As I type this "Explore" appears in a box in blue light on bottm left of the screen.  It's not too bad, sometimes a menu item will be suspended in the middle of the screen, and the only way to get rid of it is to reboot and hope that something less obnoxious block next time.  I've updated all my drivers, software and bios.  It is a processor I7 920 on Asus P6T motherboard with a nVidia 9800GT video card.

  Thank you for posting.  I just looked into your question and noticed that you are using a videocard of Nvidia desktop/game.  The combination that the nvidia drivers have had some problems with Vista and this could be the root of your problem.  Video card manufacturers generally has really intend to their home desktop video cards to use in the environment of heavy graphics CAD and 3D modeling software.  Another note, it's that both your processor manufacturer and card mother manufacter have compatibility problems between their product lines, then you want to check possible BIOS updates for your motherboard.  Nephilum i7 is a very recent product range and could have issues as well unknown.  In the last year or more, I noticed an increase in stability problems when they are used together.

  When using advanced Google search (http://www.google.com/advanced_search), the result will Flash on the screen for about one second, then I don't see that a screen is empty. Pressing 'Enter' again once does not change this white screen. It started there, at the time, that I've upgraded to Firefox 10.0 approximately two days. This problem could be caused by the Firefox update? When I use the Google Search base (https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en), I don't have this problem. My OS is Windows 7.

  I read a lot on the internet about the replacement of the screen on computers laptop toshiba and also I saw a video on [how to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P855 | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ncz3ZaI2I-s].

  Is it possible to replace the screen for a Toshiba Satellite P850 12Z (original: 15.6"@1366x768) to another screen with a higher resolution (say: 15.6"@1920x1080 or 15.6"@1600x900)?

  I'm sure that the graphics card is able to function perfectly with this screen (nVidia GeForce GT630M 2048 MB dedicated) and also I read a lot on laptop screen replacement, and I know that this screen has a connector 40 pin and it is an LED Panel, so I won't have to worry about the ups.

  I found several screens (15.6"@1920x1080) who say they are compatible with Toshiba, but I wan't to make sure a higher resolution Panel replacement is possible.

  Exchange of the display is not supported by Toshiba, so I don't think that someone here can help you with this.
  I assume that Toshiba offers multiple views for this model of laptop. Only seller is different but resolution 1366 x 768 is always the same as on the original laptop specification.

  You can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. If someone can help you with that service of Toshiba. They have access to the database of Toshiba and can possibly tell if another view is usable on your machine.

  All this is quite complicated.

  Can you please provide me with the part number for the screen for model #: NX. SHKAA.001 (AO1 - 131 M-C1T4)?  The first ten digits of the serial number are NXSHKAA005.

  Matt or gloss is what it looks like. Some like not brilliant but because most are a reflection. I would say that they would work as long as the resolution of the size and the backlight are the same.

• Premiere Pro CC6 and CC7 will not video or still images to the timeline for editing.

  First Pro CC7 and nc6 don't add video or still images to the timeline for editing. It wil play the clip, but that's all.  I tried a lot of different vidoe, mov, avi files and others more, photo jpeg, but not matter what I do I can't move to the time line to edit. I have the 30 days trial version. I watched the tutorial, done the same thing, no luck.

  Ideas and help appreciated otherwise I'll just bin the whole program. I tried it on TOC Final 7 pro and there is no problem (it's on the mac, the first pro is on pc).

• How is it, my upper toolbar disappeared? I have no file, edit, bookmark, tools, ect. I also place my cursor at the top of the screen for my address bar to fall down. Why?

  That's about it, my whole screen is taken up by some site I'm on. Need to put my cursor at the top of the screen just to get the arrow to the left, and the toolbar above it does not exist, no matter what I do.
  When Windows or even Internet Explorer everything is where it is supposed to be. Only when we Firefox makes it happen. He is good enough to drive my nuts!

  Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).

  If you are in full screen view then hover over with the mouse upward to make the bar appear Navigation and tab bar.

  You can click the maximize button in the upper right to leave the mode full screen or empty space of a right-click on a toolbar and use "exit full screen" or press F11.

  Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

  You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Then perform the following steps:

  • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
  • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

  Press the Alt (Cmd for Mac) key to display the Menu bar, then open view > toolbars and select menu bar, so it has a check mark.

• Satellite P200-RT3 - the screen turns black during the Vista installation

  Laptop worked very very slow for a while (everything worked very well - just very very slow), so I decided to restart costs after the support of all my data to the top and make the factory since HARD drive restore.

  The recovery is going very well and then after restarting Vista and is preparing to launch for the first time (prob trying to load the graphical interface of Windows), display dies - black towers with some artifacts along the top of the screen. Restart in Save Mode does nothing once it is in mode safe is it says that "Windows is unable to complete the installation in mode safe process - please restart." Restart normally translates into artifacts, like LKG configuration.

  Think something went wrong, I did the whole process again with the same result...

  Thinking the recovery partition is buggered, I grabbed a Vista Home Premium disk and installed from there... same result.

  Think display Vista drivers are buggered, I installed XP Home to rule out the possibility of a crystal display liquid buggered... XP installed fine.

  Try the recovery again... no luck.

  Just FYI: you can create a recovery disc yourself. You know about it?
  You must only start the Toshiba recovery disc creator, which is preinstalled on your laptop. You can find it on start > programs > TOSHIBA.

  The Toshiba Recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings and it s identical to option HARD drive recovery but the drive erases the entire HARD disk.
  In my opinion, the disk is very useful, because if your drive HARD get faulty and you need a new one you can restore the settings from the factory with this disc.

  Anyway, if you have a problem during the installation of recovery, you should go to an authorized service provider. It could be a hardware malfunction, because a mistake shouldn't t normally appear due recovery facility.

• Help to use the screen for mouse selections

  I don't know exactly how to describe my problem. But I'll try. Firstly I have LR5 on a Macbook Pro 2012 with the retina, 16 GB of memory. The question is how the mouse can interact with the main screen (central panel). Part of this screen is unresponsive to anything that requires a mouse click. I use a Microsoft USB 3-button mouse. But the behavior is the same aid paved with the Mac.

  My problem with a mouse in the main panel for things such as cards (or by selecting the thumbnails of the photos). I find that the operations that require a mouse click to choose something (like where to put a location on the map tag) meet the locations on the upper 1/3 of the card. For example, if I try to drag a photo from the film strip on the lower 2/3 of the worksheet to place a location tag, the operation fails. If I drag a picture on the upper 1/3 of the card, it works. Even if I try to drag the center of the card around, I have to click on the upper 1/3 of the card so that it can move the map view. If I click and hold on a point on the lower 2/3 of the card, it does not move.

  Most of the time I'm able to get around this strange behavior. But in certain types of actions, I can't work around the behavior problem. For example if I say 10 photos showing on the main screen as thumbnails. I can drag thumbnails from the top 1/3 of the screen to tell a collection displayed on the left panel. But the thumbnails on the lower 2/3 of the screen refused to be drawn into a collection. Indeed low-screen thumbnails can be selected by clicking on them. I found to select one of them is to select a thumbnail of the top screen and press the right arrow key, that adances the selection on the lower screen thumbnails. But if I try to drag one of these low-screen thumbnails selected in a collection, the operation fails.

  My workaround for the problem that is described in the previous paragraph is to make the thumbnails smaller, so that each of them are in the top 1/3 of the screen. These, I can select and move to a collections displayed on the left panel.

  Note:

  As I develop this problem, it seems that points in the lower left corner of the screen (rather than the 2/3 lower) do not respond to mouse clicks. So if I have thumbnails populating all of the panel, those of the lower left answer not to the mouse. If the part does not screen is about the bottom 1/4 left.
  

  I hope that what I have described is logical. But that's how Lightroom 5 works on my computer. Any suggestions?
  

  
  

  Alternatively, you can open the browser (on top left) when you use the card module, click to zoom in on a location or to move around on the map.

  It may also be a tendency for Mac users to leave the application running. I always leave Lightroom after I finish editing etc using Cmd + Q and I do a backup of the catalog whenever I stop.

• Many users want the traditional menu at the top of the screen - file edit view tools. If we cannot have that we could thus have Chrome as our browser?

  Why can't new versions of Firefox come at least with the option for the traditional File-View-History-Bookmarks-Tools-Help! Many users like this feature and if we don't have it we might as well revert to Chrome as a browser. Previous to return to the menu patches do not work on the end versions so give us a permanent solution please
