Feature of CD/DVD on Equium EA60

Hello!
I have a laptop EA60-155 satellite that has a stack * a DVD-RAM UJ-820 s (according to the information provided in Device Manager") CD-ROM drive, the drive tray is labeled"Multi Recorder"and"RW DVD rewritable.
The drive can read CD and DVD OK, but when I try to use the player to burn a CD or DVD, by using Windows Media Player v10, I get a message "No CD or DVD burner has been detected".
I checked in Device Manager"that the drive is recognized and is reported as work «OK» Try as I might, I can't get beyond this error.

I tried to use Nero and although the program 'sees' and reports the drive correctly, when I try to burn a CD, I get another error message "the disk is currently in use by another application". I'm intrigued by this report, since there is no other applications open when using Nero. I have a copy of the error log, if this is necessary, but won't post unless requested to do so.

My operating system is Windows XP with SP2 and all recent updates.
Suggestions as to how I can solve this problem, would be very appreciated :)

Hello

It would be very interesting to know if you are using the operating system from the recovery CD Toshiba and if this problem occurs on the device after the installation CD.
You suggested that you used the WMP for writing to the CD.
I guess that this application is trying to access the drive.
You can try to disable widows burning function, and then try again using the Nero application.
Access the drive properties (right click on the drive), and then select the? Registration? tab.
There you can disable or enable CD recording feature.

You should check it out.

  • Equium EA60-191: HARD disk faulty-need of replacement

I have a laptop Toshiba Equium EA60-191, which has a Fujitsu MHT2040AT hard drive installed. This drive is on its way, and I'm having some difficulty in finding the same type. Does anyone know a compatible player that will work in this phone?

    Thank you

You may not use the same drive to disk (from the same manufacturer). You can buy Toshiba HDD or even some other manufacturers. Important is that the connector is the same.

Just for example: according to the specifications of the laptop, your A60 comes with 40 GB of HARD drive. You can get Toshiba MK6021GAS with 60 GB and it should work on your computer satellite phone.

  • Drive CD/DVD of Equium A60 does not work correctly

    Hello
I just bought a used Equium A60. The seller reformatted the laptop using the player. However, the player will not play any disc now (I tried the CD, DVD and Toshiba load discs. The Device Manager shows the drive works, but the program tells me to insert a disk. Using advice gleaned on this forum I tried to clean the lens, System Restore, start with the key C pressed, tried F12, downloaded a driver for DVDram drive and finally remove the disk and submit.
The seller said he always worked well for him and the laptop arrived in perfect condition. All you other ideas?

Go to Device Manager and remove the CD/DVD drive.
Then restart the laptop and wait until the OS has recognized and installed the disc again.
    Reboot the laptop!
    Access to the registry editor and select this key;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Here, you need to remove the UpperFilter and UpperFilter
    Then reboot again.

    I hope it helps

  • Carpet * a UJ-830 cannot read/write DVDs on Equium L10

Hi, I have a laptop Equium L10. My DVD RAM mast * a UJ 830 cannot read/write to DVD discs. But it can read and write CDs.
I have installed the latest driver but no luck. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

This problem appears since day one?

I ask because it looks like a hardware malfunction, to me it seems that the lens can not calibrate properly and that's why the drive can read and write DVDs.
What burning software do you use?
For the most part a burning like Nero program provides an error message if the burning process failed

    Hello

"" I saw a slim drive of ' Techguys CD-DVD "PC World - would that be ok?
I'll find someone else to adapt to it that I don't have any idea how out the CD.
He previously worked with other discs and it was laid flat in the tray - now the drawer does not close.

Hope someone out there can give me some advice on why it happened suddenly and what new drive to substitute for the purchase.

    Thank you.

    > a cd got introduced in the drive and I can't, then you need to replace the CD player in my laptop.

You are not able to open the CD/DVD drive.
There is a little near the eject button.
You will need to put a small wire or another object in this set to eject the CD or DVD.
It is a last option if the eject button does not work.

PS: in the manual of the laptop you should be able to find information on compatible CD/DVD players.

But first, you should check if the laptop can boot from the recovery CD.

Then you could check if it s able to read the CD or DVD.

  • Replacement help Equium EA60-155?

Without apparent reason, using 'K' of my Equium has come off. I tried a bit of gentle violin but cannot replace it.

It is possible, but a pain to get the letter by pressing the key on the keyboard base.

Does anyone know if it is possible for the user to replace - I really can't manage without the laptop for days if I get a Toshiba service center to fix it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Phil

PS I guess I'm lucky that it is not the 'E '!

    Hi Phil,

I managed to replace some of the keys on my keyboard SA30, usually because of their duty be removed to remove the small items that my young son invariably drops in them.

First of all, you need to remove the help of the lever mechanism 'X '. To do my lifting gently down all aid by keeping in place the mechanism of 'X '. (If you try to remove the top aid you brak the clips that hold it in place.).

With the help of deleted, you must wind up the mechanism of 'X' for the keyboard itself. You will see four pegs platic bit that should be locked under the metal brackets on each side of the current key. Again, be very careful not to break the components because this will make them useless). You can find easier to remove another help to see exactly how the 'X' lever mechanism is installed.

Once the lever 'X' is back in place then go back help by hooking the two upper clips in place and Gardner by pressing the lower part of assistance until you feel a slight "click" which indicates that aid is now well in place.

    Good luck.

  • Memory graphic question Equium EA60-199

    Hey there,

I just added a new 512 DDR SO-DIMM for my laptop, and I wanted to know if it was possible to increase the allocation of memory.

I currently have an ATi Mobility Radeon with 64 MB, but I wanted to increase this to 128 or 256 MB. I read the previous posts on this topic, and they all say I need to use what is called the UMA in the Bios.

I checked the two pages of the Bios and there is nothing that relates to this. I tried to update my Bios but I can't get the. ISO file to a DVD using the recommended prgrams.

If anyone can help me, I'd be grateful čery.

    Thank you

    Richard

    Hi Richard,

The UMA (Unified Memory Architecture) setting is displayed in the first configuration of the BIOS page (assuming a Phoenix BIOS). The normal range of allowances is 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB (default) and 128 MB.

Check which BIOS provider you have on your A60. The award of the AMU can be called something else or may be set at 64 MB.

  • Equium EA60-155 has no much memory

Bought a few months ago and I'm not expected that unity is very slow. When I click on the information system, it indicates that memory is just 192 MB - is it just me, or isn't this supposed to be at least 256 MB on these machines?

[Edited by: admin on 29 July 05 06:44]

    Hi Colin,

Your EA60 uses the shared RAM for the graphics card. This means that a part of your available RAM is reserved for use graphics (usually 64 MB) and the rest is available for use of the general system. The effect is to reduce your available RAM: 256 MB to 192 MB when you query your information system.

Your BIOS may have an option (UMA I think) that will allow you to change this allocation. The options available are 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB and 128 MB. Generally, 64 MB is the default, but if you do not use the software which is dependent on the graphic quality usually (game or utility of photograph), then you can reduce to make more RAM available for general use.

  • Problem of DVD - RAM Equium A110-233: "device i/o error".

Hi, I recently have not been able to play audio CDs using my DVD - RAM drive and would be grateful if someone could help out me. When I inserted an audio CD to play on one of my media players, the disc doesn't show and read that there is "no disc in drive D:". This has happened on both of my media players and has therefore decided to load it manually via my computer, when I clicked on the icon on the player it read that it was not accessible because of a "device i/o error", however the reader will always read DVD and CD, the drive to read also played fine Audio CD yesterday and up to this point. I was wondering if someone could give me advice on how to solve this problem, thank you.

    Hello

I will also propose removing the drive from the Device Manager.
In addition, you can view the properties of the drive. Simply by right clicking on the drive and choose Properties.
Arrived at the Hardware tab, and then select the drive again and use the properties button.
Then a new window should appear. Go to the Properties tab and check if the option called enable digital CD audio for this CD-rom device has been marked.

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A200-1, which I've updated with Win7. It is great because Vista gave me problems that have been solved with Win 7.
As with some of the posts I read, my FN key doesn't work anymore and I can't seem to install the HD DVD software either.

Is there someone who could put an answer for me to solve these problems?

Have you upgraded Vista preinstalled in Win7 or you have installed a clean version of Win7 using Microsoft installation disc?

    Keys FN install package value.
HD DVD player is also available on the download page. I don't know if this is an upgrade only, but it is impossible to install it try to install the version of Vista.
