FFT output resolution

Currently, I am trying to perform an FFT on a signal in LabVIEW.

The signal was sampled at 10 kHz.

The output of the screw of the FFT for example are integer values. 1,2,3,4,5... I'm looking for 2 specific to 14.3 and 15.1 Hz frequencies. Earlier I get a peak at 14 and 15, but I want to be more specific. Is this possible?

Thank you

Scott

Read the detailed help for the FFT.  It is said that the resolution is df fs/N where fs is the sampling frequency and N is the number of samples.

So if you get df = 1 and f = 10000, N must also be 10000.  If you want the resolution of 0.1 Hz, you need samples of 100000.

Now, I have some difficulties to connect the laptop on my widescreen LCD.
According to the manual of the external monitor, the max resolution supported is 1280 * 768 WXGA. Laptop runs on 1280 * 800.

The laptop is connected via VGA output on the input PC (VGA) on the Sony. When connected (clone or any other parameter) output of the laptop is set to NO to 800 * 600 or 1024 * 768, 1280 * 768.

I've been searching the Internet for several days now, but nobody seems to have an answer.

Someone here who got the solution so I can connect my laptop on the LCD screen and enjoy it on the widescreen resolution?

In addition, according to Toshiba, the compatible 128 MB graphics card, but according to above card is max 64 Mb. anyone in this case?

    Waiting in agony! :)

    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Ciao, Milan

The mackintosh is on the right track, the installed graphics driver doesn't support the screen resolution of 1280 * 768.
It seems you laptop has an Intel graphics card. Am I wrong?
Well, quite simply, visit Intel page and check the drivers available.

  • How to change HDMI output resolution in Windows 7?

This is a new laptop Sony VAIO Y Series with Windows 7 Professional and a Samsung plasma TV.  Yesterday I connected my laptop and the TV with an HDMI-HDMI cable.  After that I went in Fn + F7 and selected "Projector" only, my desktop screen was successfully mirrored on my TV.   However, after I disconnected and then reconnected the cable, a dialog box appeared and asked me if I wanted to change my resolution of HDMI output.  While I felt fairly certain that my TV supports 720 or 768 only, I chose 1080 p.  (I realized it was a mistake.)  After doing this, the graphics in a video streaming box on MLB. TV is scrambled and very bad.

So, I think I have to set my resolution of HDMI output for 768 or 720, but I can't determine how to proceed.  I scoured the foundations of knowledge and electronic bulletin boards without result.  I searched through my display settings and resolution.  I have made a restore of the system for the day before my error, also to nothing does not.

When I right-click on the desktop and select 'Screen Resolution', then select the second (my TV) screen, the resolution drop-down list is 'greyed out', and I'm not able to change the setting, which reflects the 1366 x 768.

Can someone please?  Thanks in advance for your time.

    Josh

    Hello, Ithilias

Plug the HDMI and instead choose projector only, choose Extend.

Now, return to the screen resolution of the screen and you should be able to change the resolution of the display of the second.

  • Control PDF output resolution when converting AutoCAD to PDF

I have a standalone java application that converts AutoCAD formats to PDF using the parameters of the API AutoVue VectorConvertOptions. Transformations work very well, but some documents PDF output quality is bad. Advice or code snippets on how to handle the transformation to create the highest resolution PDF? IM thinking I do something with the settings of the pen?

    Thanks in advance!

No, PDF conversion gives no control on the CIO, it's an a time parameter in the document converter driver AutoVue

  • How to resize the swf output resolution

    Hi all

is it possible to resize the output swf resolution once the project has been saved?

    I record a request with size 986 x 906 and wouild need t proportionately reduce by 15%.

    How can I do this?

    Thank you

You did not mention the CP version used. I'll assume that it is CP4. First, you will need to resize the CP file and then republish it. Setting to the scale can lead to loss of quality, but downscaling is especially acceptable if the difference is not so great and you keep the ratio width / height of the same. This is the workflow:

    • Project menu, scale
    • Since you want to reduce by 85% of the original, you can put 85% as a percentage of width and height, but if you keep 'keep proportions' enabled (recommended) with a long
    • the options "If the new size is smaller" will now be available: you can choose to have the upscalees legends or do the editing manually after the scale of the project
    • you won't have to "reframe" (which would have cut the part of the slide if the report is not maintained, which is not your case).

    And then resize...

    Hope this works,

  • OK need help with output resolution

    I'm on a mac using CS5.5

I'm doing a short 10 second sequence appears as a promo of the new year on two digital panels. The requirements are that it is in the format .wmv which is not really a problem, but is still relevant, and I need a copy in 880 x 256 and 448 x 160.

I tried so many different avenues to get this working in a few hours, and can't find a way to do this in my favor.

I started two separate sequences of custom settings with the specified resolution (880 x 256 and 448 x 160).

I create the sequence for each and adapt management accordingly.

When I export I encounter this problem:

    Screen Shot 2013-12-20 at 11.17.29 AM.pngScreen Shot 2013-12-20 at 11.17.44 AM.png

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This project was yesterday.

I guess the m4v is HD? Your sequence setting is lower. HD is usually greater than or progressive

I implemented a progressive HD sequence and export to uncompressed mov (or animation) with the new specified resolution.

    Then that convert to wmv.

  • the large fft frequency

    Hello

Before all sorry for my English, I'll try to do my best.

I'm analyzing a data acquired with a FFT, but I want to refine or reduce the frequency of each 'window' (I only want to analyze the 0-350 Hz region)

in order to see better where my maximum in the frequency domain is.

If you have an idea where I can edit this wide frequency in order to refine the plot, please tell me!

    Thank you very much!

The sample rate determines the scope of the FFT calculation.

Using the Nyquist theorem, if you sample a 1000 samples per second, the FFT will calculate the range 1000/2 = 500 samples per second.

You NEED to taste at least twice the highest expected frequency in order to use the FFT module to find this frequency.

The resolution of the FFT module is determined by the size of the block. For the spectrum of amplitude by default, TFF will display a block which is also 1/2 on the incoming block. Size of block = 512, FFT block size is 256.

You can increase the resolution by increasing the size of the block and also by changing the size of the block to a number which can divide the sampling frequency. For example, if the

sampling frequency is 1000 and the block size is 500, the FFT output will have a resolution of 250 on a beach of 500.

You can use the data window module to change the block size - increase it to use more data and to increase the resolution of the calculation of TFF. Decrease that it resembles an interval of time smaller and lower resolution of FFT.

    I hope this helps.

  • Tecra R850-1HU output external VGA in 1280-1024 (4/3)

    Hello

Is it possible to have the resolution in vga as 1280-1024 external output or using the display port?
    I just saw the 1024 / 768 resolution 4/3 format

Maybe in the graphics card of catalyst I look into it without success

All the output resolution is in 16: 9 format

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    Display port supports 32-bit max 2560 x 1600 resolution.
But the external resolution available depends on the external display and the driver graphics card.
If the two would support the preferred resolution (1024 / 768), you should be able to select this

  • Satellite U300-153: how to use the resolution to 720 p on TV

I have laptop satellite u300-153 and a HD ready LCD Tv.
I have the connected with vga cable, because the laptop has vga output.

The problem is that when I change the output resolution in the Setup menu of the graphics card to a larger than 1024 x 768 resolution, television reports an error of non-signal.

I searched this forum and found that it's because the resolutions on the one I mentioned earlier are locked in Bios of the Government.
I would use a normal on my HDTV 720 p resolution, because I intend to use it as my main screen at home.

Using the 720 p resolution is not required, I would be just as satisfied if I could use any other wide screen resolutions.

Hmm. I think that the problem is you graphics driver doesn't support external resolution of 720 p (1280 x 720).

Unfortunately, if this resolution is not included in the graphics driver, then you will not be able to use it :(

    That's pity

  • Satellite A20: How to get the resolution 1360 x 768 on external screen

Hello. I have Satellite A20 and LG HDTV with a resolution of 1360 x 768.

What I want is to use HDTV as a second monitor... but I can not correct output resolution. :(

I can only adjust the output resolution:

    640 x 480
    720 x 480
    720 x 576
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 1024

If he can do 1280 x 1024, then it surly can do 1360 x 768?

can someone tell me if this can be done and how to make 1360 x 768

    Thanks :)

Hmm, usually you can't choose this resolution because the graphics driver does not support!
You can try to find the driver of the manufacturing of the graphics card and could try to install it.
If you fail, I guess that you can't use your favorite ;(resolution

Use the time Base module (special offer) to extract the x axis out of the block of the FFT.

  • Lenovo 3000 V200 resolution maximum vga.

I think to buy a LCD and connect my Lenovo 3000 V200, using the vga output port.
What is the maximum resolution the Lenovo 3000 V200 will give me on the vga output port?

    1 years) Yes

    2 years) Yes

2 years) Yes it is possible, the max VGA output resolution is the same as the VGA in the extended screen adjustment.

Don't worry it can lead to a WQXGA 30 inches screen resolution, I use the T61 and R61i with X 3100 graphic on a Dell 24 inch WUXGA all the time.

  • If I adjust my InDesign doc to an eighth should I scan at a resolution of 8 x?

    I have a 26'x 7.5 ' banner I created out of notes 3 "x 3" sticky. "

Post-it notes have writing on them, and I want to print the banner "life-size" for each note post-it looks like a 3 "x 3" square on the final 26'x 7.5 ' banner.

I've been analyzing post-it notes at 300 dpi, and then I place it in my InDesign document, which is set to scale down to one-eighth the size of final output, so it's easier to work, i.e. it is 3, 25-feet in InDesign now, rather than 26 feet.

1 if I adapt my InDesign document down to one eighth it has output size (3, 25-feet instead of 26-feet), I should increase the dpi of each image in 300 to 2400 dpi so that the final output resolution will be 300 dpi?

2 - InDesign "bind" the images and keep their resolution No matter if I resized the document down so that I can work with it more easily?

When you place the images of post-it note in document scaling to one-eighth of its size, I have to select Auto Fit and then decrease the height and width so they will fit.

    3. don't, this decreases the resolution of 300 dpi?

    Thank you!

If you have scanned at 300 PPI size, when you resize the size of 1/8 in ID the Effective resolution will increase to 2400 PPI just because of the change of the scale, and when you resize up to 8 x to print, the resolution will be once more 300 PPI.

  • Adding text with the text tool corresponds to the resolution of photo

I discovered that, although the resolution of the image is of no consequence when the sizing of the images in pixel dimensions, it is always important if you decide to add information of copyright with the text tool.

for example, I received pictures of several people, all sizes of 1024 pixels in width, but I wanted to add their names to the front of the images before putting the images in a slideshow.  I quickly discovered that, even if the images are identical pixel seen, applied names vary in size according to the resolution of the image.

Because different brands of cameras assign a different resolution to the images taken with this camera, I needed to change the resolution of images to be all the same before I could add the names appearing in the same size.

It was a surprise for me.

    Mary Lou

I think we are saying the same thing.

"Now, Type is expressed in points and points are defined as 72 points per inch for output format."

This is the information that I needed.

When people send me images that are all in 1024 x 768 in size in pixels (I'll stop using the word 'size') the size of the font that I choose to use appears differently on these images, depending on their output resolution.

There is no way to avoid having to adjust the resolution of output of these images, if I want to have text added (via the text tool) that appears the same size on all images.

Now, I can explain why this is happening.  I hope this is helpful to others reading this.

    Thank you.

  • Rendering in different resolutions - the same size?

I am rendering a composition of 640 x 360 in two output resolutions: not scaling (640 x 360) and 470 x 270 using H.264. The output files are the same size (15MB). How is that possible?

If you have the target bit rate defined on the same amount for each film, then the number of megabytes per second of the video will be the same. What will be different, that's how aggressive the compression will be in the film with the largest frame size to compress the film in this flow of data.
