  Hi all

  I'm missing a few characters, once I insert the text in a dynamic text field. characters are not lacking by saying; they are replaced by empty squares.

  characters such as the euro symbol and accentuated German letter.

  What is weird is that the other German accented letters appear. If only a few selected are missing.

  How Ive set up the FLA:

  (1) I added 4 text fields to the scene to police im using, Arial, one for each font style: normal, italic, bold and bold italic and in all 4 fields ive incorporated all Latin characters (to include the German characters accentuaded and im guessing it is in the punctuation group that contains the euro symbol so that one is also incorporated), not to mention as lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and all the groupd default to include the basic text.

  (2) I have a dynamic text field created with createTextField, and set up the ActionScript code following (2):

• Problem of String and Integer

  I create a button which when you click on a corresponding text of reference field in an existing text field. Here is the code:

  If you click the button whenever circle1 myVariable1 needs to load in the text field Dynamics test_str. When you click circle2 myVariable2 should load and so on. The problem is that I get a is not a numeric response (NaN) in the text field. I know it has something to do with the combination of a string with a number, but can not solve this problem. I tried toString() and other pieces of code, but it does not work. Thanks in advance.

  Three things:

  1) there is a minor tangle of 'this' in the onRelease function.  Inside this function, 'this' refers to the object of the circle, but your variable lies outside in the main timeline, so...

  myTextField.text = _root ["myVariable" + String (this.uniqueID)];

  (2) your loop starts at 0, but your variables start at 1.  Don't forget to make them accept, otherwise your code looking for myVariable0 that is not

  (3) when you declare a variable, declare a variable...

  IM new to flex and I have a problem with getting my data in a datagrid control. This should be simple, but I'm running out of ideas to make this work.

  Hey, you have another question for the experts... I have a SWF and an activex media player on a page... stream URLS are in my flash movie and I wish I could choose which stream to play in the media player by clicking on a button on the swf...

  This is where I am currently in detail... skip down if you want the quick description

  In flash, I connect to my webservice and pick up the three tables. One called 'seen', one called "vc" and one called "vt".

  'vu' contains about 5-10 urls in service date here... vu1, vu2, vu3, vu4, vu5, etc...

  "vc" contains the name of the company in streaming... "vc1" is the source of "vu1" etc.

  "vt" contains the name of the actual flow

  IM lost in the place where I want to by clicking on a button and pulling the "(n) SelectVideo" to send the url (see [n]) the reader multimedia activex on the same page and play... don't know how...? ExternalInterface is something ive tried but I can't seem to get it right on the side of actionscript and deleted from the code above... In Dreamweaver, the name of the drive multimedia activex is "mediaPlayer" and if ExternalInterface allows you to speak in javascript I have this function here...

  So you're on the right track. The best way I found to do is Google search for Flash and Javascript and create a flash test file and the html file. You should be able to make your javascript in your html page simple to launch a new window and go to yahoo or something. That's how you know you're in communication with the javascript function correctly. Then put it in what you are doing and if it does not, you know it's a problem of javascript to the media player not Flash to javascript. That should help a bit.

  I could do this from as2 to a popup which held an as3 document and their release back to build a screen shot and then saved. So I'm sure passing a string to a media player is possible and fairly easy

  I use Flash CS3 and that you don't find the answer to this question using CS3. There are a lot of documents for Flash 8 and below.
  
  Question: When I view my web page Flash file, the UIScrollbar for my dynamic text field does not appear correctly. It only shows the bottom of the UIScrollbar and not the arrows or scroll bar. The text field Dynamics pulls text from a file external .txt (named breakroomText.txt). The dynamic text field has an instance name of breakroomText. Here's the code that brings in the text:

  I finally found the answer, but this scenario makes no sense. It seems you need to create a dynamic text field with a progress bar when run through actionscript, rather than creating the text field and the scroll in Design view bar. Here's the code that worked:

  Question: How can I format a dynamic digital field based on the number of decimal places stored in another column in a query SQL PL.

  When you create a requisition in Business Portal the item price field gathers at the current cost of the item of GP.  The user wants the field to always be $0, so they can enter the amount in dollars.  They don't want to shoot the current cost of the GP.  Is there a way to get there?

  I have 2003 MICROSOFT STORE OPERATIONS POS V1.2.  It worked fine until the printer had to be changed.  The part of the process that has stopped is the print command to display the amount of the transaction, etc..  The print prompt appears, but YES/ENTER has no result.  There is a solution multistep recalled the transaction where the print command works.

  Unless someone knows a screen to access correct a checkbox, I would find someone in Denver who could check on that and make one on-site.

  FocusChangeListener is quite different from FieldChangeListener... FocusChangeEvent triggers when a development of a field or a lost field won focus (navigation of movement) or just slider field... But the FieldChangedEvent poses only when an event occurs on this component, that is to say A button click event, an event setText on a text field...
