The flash player activex control?

Hey, you have another question for the experts... I have a SWF and an activex media player on a page... stream URLS are in my flash movie and I wish I could choose which stream to play in the media player by clicking on a button on the swf...

This is where I am currently in detail... skip down if you want the quick description

In flash, I connect to my webservice and pick up the three tables. One called 'seen', one called "vc" and one called "vt".

'vu' contains about 5-10 urls in service date here... vu1, vu2, vu3, vu4, vu5, etc...

"vc" contains the name of the company in streaming... "vc1" is the source of "vu1" etc.

"vt" contains the name of the actual flow

function getVideoList() {}

var pen: PendingCall = ws. GetVideoList();

pen.onResult = {(res) function}

var i = 0;

NVID res =. NVID;

for (i = 0; i < nvid; i ++) {}

saw [i] = res.vid [i] .url;   databasecode

VC [i] = res.vid [i] .src;   databasecode

VT [i] = res.vid [i] .trk;   name

}

}

}

I then use localconnection to send vc [i] saw [i], and [i] vt to a second swf that I just want to control what is happening via a media player also on the same page

var outgoing_lc = new LocalConnection();

startbutton.onRelease = function() {}

outgoing_lc. Send ("videolist", "leisure", seen, vc, vt) ;} ;

This second swf picks it up and displays the names (vt) in text fields Dynamics (called vx1-20) located on top of buttons. The company continuously (vc) is displayed in another field of text dynmaic upstairs.

var incoming_lc = new LocalConnection();

incoming_lc. Connect ("videoList");

incoming_lc.thefunction = function (param1, param2, param3) {}

var i = 0;

for (i = 0; i < = param1.length - 1; i ++) {}

VX [i] .text = param1 [i];

saw [i] = param2 [i];

VC [i] = [i] param3;

}

};

flash.external import. *;

function SelectVideo (n) {}

VideoSrc.Text = vc [n];

HOW does send seen [n]?

IM lost in the place where I want to by clicking on a button and pulling the "(n) SelectVideo" to send the url (see [n]) the reader multimedia activex on the same page and play... don't know how...? Looks like a simple concept, having the two communicate, but I had no chance. ExternalInterface is something ive tried but I can't seem to get it right on the side of actionscript and deleted from the code above... In Dreamweaver, the name of the drive multimedia activex is "mediaPlayer" and if ExternalInterface allows you to speak in javascript I have this function here...

< script language = "Javascript" >

function setVideoUrl (a) {}

document.getElementById("mediaPlayer").setURL = has ;}

< /script >

This is the code for the Media Player object.

< object classid = "CLSID:6BF52A52 - 394 A-11 d 3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"

" codebase ="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=, 1,52,701"" "

type = "application/x-oleobject" width = "340" height = "240"

standby = "loading Microsoft Windows Media Player... components." »

id = "mediaPlayer" >

< param name = "url" value = "video10.png" >

< param name = "uimode" value = "none" >

< param name = 'stretchToFit"value ="true">

< param name = 'enableContextMenu"value ="true">

< embed type = "application/x-mplayer2".

src = » http://www.mysite.com/video10.PNG "width = 340 height = 240 > "

< / embed >

< / object >

SO... again... my question is... How to pushing me a button in a SWF fire a function that sends and plays the url of that feed in the same page activex media player?

So you're on the right track. The best way I found to do is Google search for Flash and Javascript and create a flash test file and the html file. You should be able to make your javascript in your html page simple to launch a new window and go to yahoo or something. That's how you know you're in communication with the javascript function correctly. Then put it in what you are doing and if it does not, you know it's a problem of javascript to the media player not Flash to javascript. That should help a bit.

I could do this from as2 to a popup which held an as3 document and their release back to build a screen shot and then saved. So I'm sure passing a string to a media player is possible and fairly easy

    Is it possible to install the debug version of the ActiveX Flash Player on Windows 8 control? None of the currently available from Adobe Installers now works on Windows 8. Even the Flash Player uninstall program cannot delete the Windows built-in player. You will solve this problem in the near future?

    Sorry for the lack of information on the content of the debugger to win 8. The debugger will be available for download on the Microsoft Web site a few weeks after the general availability of Windows 8 (10/26).

  • need to detect the version of Flash Player ActiveX installed in windows 8

    My company (for better or worse) using Add/Remove programs to determine the version of flash players (activex and plugin) installed on a machine. With Microsoft support the ActiveX for Win8.x package, we have lost the "Add/Remove Programs" (aka "programs and features") entry for flash player for IE. (Now, our chefs are inaccurate because I know every customer of Win8 activex of flash player, but one) it is not counted, and b) we do not know which version is on a computer.

    We can get the current number of KB Microsoft Update for the flash player activex, but that changes on a monthly basis, requiring engineering on our side and we have the bandwidth.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    THX,

    Adam

    Hi Adam,.

    You can use the registry entry to find the installed version.

    ActiveX: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerActiveX > Version

    Plugin: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerPlugin > Version

    It is much better than the entry in Add/Remove programs.

    Hi GFAngel-9,

    Thanks for posting the screenshot. It was very useful.

    For non-French speaking people who may come across this message, the error is "Flash Player ActiveX Control fails to register".

    The error record is generally returned when there are problems with permissions in the registry or the file system where the Flash Player is installed in. Please read the FAQ How can I fix Windows with Flash Player permission problems? or the tech note Flash Player | Windows registry permissions. The FAQ contains a video about the difficulty of running during the tech note contains more detailed information about the permissions problem.

  • How do I update Flash Player ActiveX & Plugin to an internal server at the same time?

    At work, we use both, Flash Player ActiveX and plugin, because of the use of different browsers. We have implemented a background update of our internal server.

    Updating via 'FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe', an extension of the ActiveX is updated and the Plugin is not.

    But if I do it in this order: update install ActiveX → update → install the update, the two Extensions → Plugin.

    Here is the mms.cfg:

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    SilentAutoUpdateServerDomain = [our server]

    SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging = 1

    Is it possible to update the two Extensions to an internal server at the same time?

    Hi Jak,

    The file currentmajor.xml is a relatively new, 2 versions there are, I think, but it seems to be missing in the file fp_background_update.cab of the release last month. The FlashPlayerUpdateService.exe for the 14.0.0.176 version is looking for this file, and not finding it, which explains why the Plugin is not updatable. Flash Player 15.0.0.152, we published yesterday and I confirmed that the file currentmajor.xml is in the new fp_background_update.cab package. You can download the new package of the Adobe Flash Player Distribution fp_background_update.cab | Adobe page. Once you deploy the new package on your server, the currentmajor.xml file must be in the directory of /sau, at the same level as 11, /14/ and 15 (new release of yesterday), and the Plugin should be updated after the ActiveX updates for the new version.

  • I can not download the Flash Player. GetPlus + R stops working during the process

    I can not download the Flash Player. GetPlus + R stops working during the process

    Hey Kevin,

    A. what browser do you use to download flash player?

    Have b. you tried with another browser?

    Have c. you downloaded this earlier?

    Please, try the following steps.

    Step 1: uninstall previous versions of Flash Player

    Before you install Flash Player for any Windows browser, uninstall all previous versions, and then restart your computer. Try to download flash player, if it does not work then uninstall Download Manager and check.

    Step 2: Verify Internet Explorer security and ActiveX settings

    Make sure that the Internet Explorer security is set at a level that allows viewing ActiveX controls. The medium: default level allows you to view the Flash content. For any custom level, follow the instructions below. (Contact your system administrator for more information.)

    To change your security level:

    1. open Internet Explorer.
    2. choose Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Select the Security tab.
    4. Select the custom level.
    5. Locate the section "ActiveX controls and plug-ins.
    6. set "Download signed ActiveX controls" at the command prompt.
    7. the value "Run ActiveX controls and Plug-ins" Prompt.

    Step 3:

    Download and install the flash player.

  • How do I uninstall the flash player for Windows 8.1 debugger

    I installed the debug version of Flash Player to make development work. I would now like to uninstall the version of developers and get back to the standard version. How?

    I am running Windows 8.1 x 64 with IE 11.

    My system shows "You have installed 14,0,0,176 version" from the Flash Player page.

    I used the following link for uninstall manually and with the download program. When you do the manual version I have find the C drive and not recorded about five different copies of 32 and 64-bit version.

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flex/KB/uninstalling-Flash-Player-debugger.html

    I tried to install from the following link, but he says that the update does not apply to my system.

    r_0 https://helpx.adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/Flash-Player-issues-Windows-8.html#main-pars_heade

    Hello

    Given that Microsoft integrates Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Wndows 8.x/10, the standalone uninstall program does not have to remove the ActiveX on Windows 8.x/10 control (it does not uninstall the plugins NPAPI and PPAPI.) Instructions to uninstall the debugger Windows 8.x are displayed to the Adobe Flash Player - download which is the same page that contains the links for debugger Windows 8.x installers. Uninstall instructions are directly below the links for debuggers.

    Microsoft integrates Flash Player on Windows 8.x/10 they lock files to prevent users to uninstall because it is a built-in component of IE. Since you have manually unregistered ActiveX components you have done irreparable damage to the file system, which is beyond the scope of this Flash Player installer forum. This could by why you get the message that the update does not apply to you, however, that it is difficult to determine at this stage. I could start by running Windows Update and see if it includes an update to "update for Internet Explorer for Windows Player Flash 8.x". If she is not there, you may need to install other updates before "update for Internet Explorer for Windows Player Flash 8.x" update appears. If it appears at all, you will need to contact Microsoft for assistance.

  • Distribution of the Flash Player downloads page lists wrong version 11.4.402.278 (really 11.4.402.267)

    FYI, the page Flash Player Distribution downloads (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html) lists the wrong version 11.4.402.278 (really 11.4.402.267) in the header. I downloaded the Plugin and ActiveX. File MSI for Windows, listed under Flash Player 11.4.402.278. During the edition of each. MSI in Orca, it lists the ProductVersion as 11.4.402.267. And, indeed, after install two appwiz.cpl watch versions of ProductName = Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 11 and ProductName = Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin as 11.4.402.267.

    This is a bug with the version string of the MSI package. The active control x from Flash Player to the actual address displays the correct version (11.4.402.278). Our internal bug for this issue number is 3333545 and we hope that this will be fixed in the next version. I also posted about this here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4711264#4711264

  • Incomplete download of the Flash Player

    I'm unable to use the Flash Player. In my control panel, it shows that it is there, however, when I go to play a video it says I need Adobe Flash Player (random) installed to view the video and download it States, it is free, however, when I do this it says that a new version is already installed. Very frustrating! I bought the Adobe Reader software. Do I have to buy the Flash Player also?

    Flash Player is a free software.

    Do you find this problem with a specific site, or do you find in all sites?

    If you use Internet Explorer 9, please make sure that you have disabled ActiveX filtering: http://blogs.adobe.com/sunil/2011/10/09/disabling-activex-filtering/

    Well, Flash Player is not the problem that your computer may not correctly display a Flash or HTML5 video. If your computer is still under warranty, download a new installation of the current printer driver file, and then uninstall the current driver in the list programs and features, and then install the driver downloaded just to make sure that you have no driver corrupted file.

    If the problem persists after you install a new copy of the OEM driver, contact the manufacturer of your problem.

    Hi, it is the ActiveX of Flash Player control and must always be set. You wanted to probably say FP vs 10.2.159.1 which is the latest version.

  • I have Windows 7, Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305 NPAPI and Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 13.0.0.214. Should I have them both?

    On Facebook, the videos are choppy, Adobe Flash player 16.0.0.305 crashes. Issue of intermittent latency when scrolling on web pages. Use memory and CPU high when the shift occurs. I'll upgrade to Adobe Flashplayer 17. I'm especially curious to know if I need Adobe Flash Player NPAPI 16.0.0.305 both Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 13.0.0.214. They perform the same function? Having both installed would be my problem?

    You must uninstall both of them and install the latest version of Flash, 17. https://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/download/?installer=FP_17_for_Firefox_-_NPAPI & standalone = 1

    To try a few more things that could improve your performance:

    I recently installed Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 11 - 11.4.402.265 and when I open my Mozilla Firefox browser I get this message flashing on my screen: "Adobe Flash Player 11.4 r402 has stopped working" and then "Windows is checking for a solution"

    It flashes several times then stops usually but not always.

    It happens every time I try to open a new page.

    I solved this problem by uninstalling Adobe Flash Player 11 and install Adobe Flash Player 10.3. However, now my IE browser again wants me to install Adobe Flash Player 11. Although I do not often use my IE browser, I DON'T have to use sometimes. Is there a Firefox 15.0 update to fix this problem?

    First of all, the Flash of the IE is totally different than the flash used in Firefox. You can update one without affecting the other.

    Now, there is a problem right now with Flash 11.3 and 11.4 in Firefox. Downgraded to 10.3 is an acceptable solution for the moment. Adobe publishes the updates (slowly) that solve the problems, but it is not a matter of time before they are all fixed.

    Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - avoid that it happen

    11.3 Flash does not load video in Firefox

  • Several Media Player ActiveX controls

    I have a system that displays video files 'live' and those historical at the request of the user. To do this, I use the Windows Media Player ActiveX controls.

    The 'live' (not really streaming, just a new video file all few seconds) display is part of my main façade, while the historical files play in a pop-up (also a VI) when the user requests them.

    Control 'live' works very well until a historic video is required and the pop-up appears. As soon as the second WMP ActiveX control appears on the screen, two of them ceases to display the video!

    They try - when either one of them has to play a file, "playing...". "appears in the status bar and reading progressive count time - but there is no video.

    The problem persists even after the closure of the pop-up window.

    No idea how to solve this problem?

    I push the files for the ActiveX control by first calling "newMedia" in an Invoke node, then put the reference that in the property 'currentMedia' of a property node. What is the right way to do it?

    (LabVIEW 8.2, WMP 10, WinXP SP2)

    Thank you!

    Hi Ian,

    I had a glance on this issue and I am unable to reproduce your problem.

    It is possible that the problem is due to a codec problem, what format are the video files? They use standard codecs?

    I built a program example runs a video the main vi and appears a second video when you press a button.

    If you change constants for path of file for videos that you use and test them using the sample program this will eliminate video formats as a problem.

    I structured the ActiveX interface slightly differantly to how you described, nor your problem however re-created method.

    Have a play with the sample program and let me know what happens.

    In general, when the desktop software uses Flash Player, it's because they're incorporating an Internet Explorer window in the application. If you do not have Flash Player for Internet Explorer (aka. the ActiveX Flash Player) installed, then the desktop app is not going to work.

    Then, launch Internet Explorer

    Go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Follow the prompts and then relaunch the application after you have completed the installation in Internet Explorer. I hope this sorts for you.
