File recovery issues

I had a 'Windows time', or something... I had a page come in saying "The FBI has seized for illegal activities of the computer" or something to that effect. They wanted ransom $300.00 to release my computer, needless to say, I declined. I tried to do a system restore to an earlier date... I'm NOT a computer savy guy. old man... can do things... Of that computer... finished anyway went back to Windows Vista, I used my Windows 7 upgrade cd to update... What it is, BUT ALL my files are gone. Photos, programs, etc. I did a backup of system files according to the instructions of Windows... I downloaded them on my computer and they are in a "recovery" file, I can not install them themselves to a usable program... If that makes sense. I spoke with 6 people at Microsoft (waste of my time), they had no indication as to what I've spoke, but did not charge me $99.00 for Technical Assistance... ??? Strange huh.. ? It is anyway YOU can help me get the files "Rceovery" where they should be and in operation? Thank you in advance, Stan Reeves... year 67 former military Vet... Not computer Smart...

Hello

Looked like you restore your machine to factory settings (Vista). I don't know which product you used to download your files on your computer and hence. You mentioned Windows, please try this:

    Hello

I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium. I created my recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator DVDs and all original parts are still intact. However, I plan to switch to Ubuntu, and I would like to do a clean install, which would erase my C: and D: drives.

I intend sicking with Ubuntu in the foreseeable future, but I was wondering that if I get fed up with it, I would be able to use my DVD of recovery of re - install Windows 7 on my machine. I wanted the whole process thorough research before you start, just in case. I read that in order to use the recovery DVDs, you must keep the intact recovery hidden partition.

After you run diskmgmt.msc, I see the following:
-A 400 MB partition, with the label (recovery Partition)
-A GB 232,88 partition, with label (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, primary Partition)
-A 232,49 GB partition, labeled (Primary Partition)

I'm guessing that when resizing my partitions (with GParted or something similar) I'll have to let the 400 MB partition intact and just change two larger partitions. Can someone tell me if this whole process works, or if I'm just wasting my time?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Matt

    Hey Buddy,

The partition of 400 MB with file recovery has nothing to do with Toshiba and it s only a Microsoft features and contains some important files to the Windows recovery environment, but you can restore t Windows on this partition.
On Wikipedia, there is an interesting article on the Windows recovery environment.

IF you have already created the Toshiba recovery disc you are on the safe side and you can do what you want because you can always restore the preinstalled Toshiba with this disc because it s contains an image of the factory settings.

You can delete all partitions and install Ubuntu. If you want to return Windows, simply use the Toshiba recovery disc. :)

By the way: from Toshiba HARD drive recovery files are saved on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDrecovery.

  • File recovery HARD drive missing

I downloaded Win8 and installed, thinking that I would be able to run both I expected to install on drive d (Yes). It was late to do anything about it either once it all started, but he wiped the drive C. I decided to return to the factory settings.

    This is what is happening.

After pressing F8, everything is OK up to choose recovery tool.

No "HDD RECOVERY BUTTON_ _TOSHIBA." Is displayed at the bottom.

Recovery disc and this is the message I received.

    "System restore failed.

File recovery HARD drive on the second disc of the first hard drive not found.

There is no valid disk HARD recovery environment on this computer. »

I ran a program of partition and the result is that I have a partition 400meg on the front of the C drive and all files are intact.

    Can you help me?

    Hello

Saved on the HARD drive recovery image can be used if the laptop has only factory settings. After installing Win8 you have changed everything and factory settings have been deleted. If use of F8 are unable to work.

This 400MB you see have nothing to do with the Toshiba recovery image. This small partition is owned by the operating system.

One thing confuses me in the history. It is the use of recovery disks.
You have created recovery discs using the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator?

Generally the recovery disk contains all the important data for the installation of the OS, so I put t understand how you can get this message.

  • Pavilion g6: I deleted files recovery on D drive

I have a HP Pavilion with Windows installed 8.1 g6. I accidentally deleted my files recovery on D drive. How can I restore them. I have Windows 8 recovery disks.

It is unlikely. You can try the Recycle Bin of Windows, but it is unclear if it will work.

I could try removing just to see if it works on my HP spectrum 13 XT ultrabook product loan.

    Edit:

Ok. I tried today. I have found that if you want to delete the file, it would require administrator privileges. A specific and very important file is too large for the tank and asked me if I was sure I want to delete it again.

Recovery of files that are located in the partition cannot be retrieved from the trash.

You need to perform a factory image recovery if you want to have a labour recovery partition.

  • I have the virus of file recovery, now I have a black screen with cursor blinking in the upper left corner.

I have a Pavilion Notebook and recently caught the virus from file recovery.  I bought and ran the disc of Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security.  Now, I get a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the screen.  All tests ran for memory, hard disk, etc. are OK.  Now I have a recovery disk, but have not backed up my files.  Any suggestions?

Download your backed up files, then you can boot from your recovery disks to reinstall Windows.Several options to do so.

Remove the hard drive and attach it to one > USB adapter . Plug it into another computer via usb port and copy files off the power.

You can use > Ubuntu Live CD to boot from and backup files.

OR ->Kaspersky CD has the ability to back up files.

  • File recovery does not file recovered from the original folder

I tried two programs of file recovery: Recuva and Pandora Recovery

Two programs from many files deleted my involuntary removal of the My Documents folder.  However, I expect that the recovered files will be recovered in their original folders that were in My Documents folder deleted.  Instead, the files have been recovered as separate and unrecovered files in their original folders. Is there a recovery program that would recover the files into their original folders that were in the deleted Documents folder?  Otherwise, it seems I have to open about 7000 files and sort them in their folders respective orginal. This seems to be an extremely time consuming and difficult task. Can someone help me? Thank you.  John G.

I think you'll be lucky to get anything.  Where a file is no not part of the file - it's the metadata stored elsewhere, so it is not possible to recover the files to their previous location.  In the future, it would be much easier to restore files if you have a backup.

It is very unlikely that you try to use a copy of the file recovery works. Please see the page of HP Pavilion dv6-3105tx Entertainment Notebook PC drivers for your computer. This page contains the complete assortment of the necessary drivers for your computer.

do you think that there is a way to retrieve this file?

    Please ~ help me!

    Hello

When you delete a file from your computer, it is actually just moved to the trash, where it is temporarily stored until the Recycle Bin is empty. This gives you an opportunity to recover accidentally deleted files and bring back them to their original location.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/recover-files-from-the-Recycle-Bin

If you have permanently deleted, you will need to use third party recovery tool.

You can use your favorite search engine.

  • System Restore, deletion of the photo and file rights issues

I had trouble with my phone now for about half a year. Awhile back on downloading a program, my computer began to tell me that I didn't have 'rights' to remove a file, access a folder or even to open a program, when I have full admin on her rights. This problem has persisted, but not as much as he used to.

The following problem was born about two months ago. I noticed that my laptop didn't is more let me restore the system yesterday. The day before the current day was the only day where he had registered under a restore point. My laptop still has this problem. Not only that, but every time I do a system restore it says failure of the resolution.

At the beginning of this year as my C: drive grew low space I created a picture file on my D: drive and transferred all my current photos to the new folder and kept the old one on the C: drive, but deleted all the images in the default image folder. Now tonight, I deleted a program out of my D: dive that was installed a year ago that I no longer use, and after removing the photo on my D: drive folder wiped. There are thousands of images recorded in this issue said. I tried a system restore to recover images, but the restoration of the system, as said before, has failed.

I would appreciate help in how to conquer these questions. There is not much I can do until my images are retrieved, so fast response and the help is even more appreciated.
