Files disappear from view

While I'm working on Lightroom 6, all my files are gone, and I can't return in sight, only if I click Import (- source) they used to be on the left side, in a structure. In order to find the photos I want to develop I need them in sight all the time like before. Also my hard drive isn't appearing any more in the lightroom interface.

I have an iMac from Apple with OS X Yosemite.

Would be grateful if anyone can find the answer

Maybe you have the Panel off.   Right-click on one of the headers of groups such as the CATALOG and the next menu will appear.

The computer is still not clean or the malware did too much damage to the operating system. First of all, make sure that the computer is really clean looking at these removal steps:

If you were this meticulous, you are ready to move to the next step. If you were not this thorough, do the work and maybe the problem will be solved.

If the computer is really clean, you can try a repair installation. If the repair installation does not work, back up your data and do a clean install of Windows.

  • Files disappear from WMP

When I RIP files to WMP two things happen: the ripped files do not appear in WMP or prviously ripped files disappear AND just ripped files are not displayed.

The first thing to try is perhaps the Player Windows Media "Fixit" tool available for download here.

    http://Support2.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic/en-us

This will be to diagnose problems in WMP and you provide details of the measures recommended... be aware that unless you make specific choices he will reset the default values and restore your library to check what options you want to continue.

(If it does not work on the first attempt after download, you may need to try to restart your computer).

If this has no effect, then it may be necessary to try a system restore.

  • Tab bar disappeared from view and the list of toolbars. How can I get it back?

I was screwing the toolbar options, trying (unsuccessfully!) back to the layout of the toolbar, I had before that Firefox has been upgraded automatically (without my permission!). I was trying to go down the bar tabs below the other toolbars. All of a sudden he disappeared. Various web proposed corrections involved in the preferences or Options and do things. I can't find something called preferences, and the proposed option for tabs (see the tab bar) in Options does not exist in my options. I am very unhappy, not only because I find not the bar of tabs, but because the new version messed up how I got my toolbars organized and there seems to be no option for fixing.

What method did you use to move the tab bar?

Have you created a userChrome.css file in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • Folders and files disappear from libraries, but are still in the original file if watched by digging c:-why?

When I add a folder to the library he sews it is only a matter of time before the sub folders and/or files such as word documents. It just stop appearing in library view, but are still present in the "Explorer". The Explorer view would be if I'm going to the C: drive and drill down to the original location of the folder/file in question. I use the professional version. My wife has the same problem in its home version of Windows 7. I love Windows 7 but I lose patience with the file system.

I solved the problem with "hidden" files The answer is a little embarrassing. When I imported my files in W7 in XP they missed to 'sort by date/time. Because they were alphabetically in XP, the order of the new date set match alphabetically on the first import in W7. I didn't know they were are more sorted by name because the order of date / hour now equated the name order. I opened each file the file sort order has changed and it settles at the bottom of the list that is logical, newest at the bottom. It seemed to me that I was lost files because they fell in alphabetical order and moving toward the bottom of the list. Once I clicked on sort by file name everything came back and worked well since. Sorry, I should have posted this a long time ago.

  • Files disappear from LR

My LR (CC version) recently started acting "buggy". The latest issue is that when importing, folders are created, but then do not appear in the library. The photos are accessible, but only if I click on "previous import." It's annoying not having folders appear, and it caused me massive panic that the files are being deleted. Is there a reason that this is happening? How can I work around it? Attached is a screenshot showing clearly that the 2016-09-09 a folder WAS created under portraits, but does not appear in the library for some reason any.Screen Shot 2016-09-09 at 11.35.21 PM.png

So I have seen this problem reported before, when it appears in the Panel files from Lightroom to two disks of the same name, when in fact the operating system knows that there is such a disc. Please try the solution in response #4 toLightroom 4.3 duplicate records created during the import

  • cut the bookmarks file, impossible to stick, file disappeared from the Favorites, how to recover?

    Hello
Some time ago, I created a folder of bookmarks in Firefox Bookmarks and added a large number of bookmarks inside. Today, I wanted to cut the record, I did apparently, and paste it into a folder of Windows 7. When I tried to paste the folder, the command paste has not been highlighted for use. I went back to Firefox and my bookmarks folder went from bookmarks. So where is it. How can I recover my bookmarks folder? Using Firefox 3.6.13.

If you have not closed Firefox, open the bookmarks library (in the menu, select Bookmarks organize bookmarks), and in the library, select organize > Cancel.

If you have already closed Firefox, or the Cancel option is not available, you can restore one of the automatic backups of bookmark (Firefox creates backups of bookmarks for the last 5 days that it has been used). For details on how to see the "backup restore" section of the article restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer .

  • When I use the wizard to transfer between Windows XP and Windows 7 files disappears from Windows XP?

When I use the files and settings between XP and 7 Transfer Wizard files on XP removed or will I still have the original as files?

The files and Settings Transfer Wizard won't work on Windows 7, you must use Windows Easy Transfer.  But in both cases, the original files are copied only - not deleted.  They remain on the source computer.

  • Files disappeared from LR (deleted?), but has pictures of LR and hard drive. How can I get the folder HD back structure in LR?

I can be the first person to have ever done that. I don't know what I've done yet. I have spend hours to organize my folders. I had imported them all in the horrible mess that they were (many duplicates, etc.). After obtaining their almost perfect I went to delete what I thought, it was a trash folder. I think I must have accidentally deleted my pictures folder (where they were all stored). Strange is that the catalog has all the 10,000 photos, but I have no file. Not a single one. Not even the HD Mac one. All changes have been made in LR, I know better than to go messing around with something outside of Lightroom. All changes I made to the files are on the hard drive right now. I just need to find a way to find the LR folder structure. However, it won't let me import anything. When I try to add a folder nothing is re-elected under the menu folders. I don't know what to do. Help! I've been throwing these to print photos for a Christmas gift.

Given that I'm not a MAC person, as far as I know is that this file preference is located in a hidden directory and so you must follow the instructions in the link.

The user library file is hidden by default on Mac OS X 10.7 and later versions. For temporary access to the file library user, press Option and select go > library in the Finder.

If you don't want to delete the preferences file, you can rename it instead, and Lightroom will create a new file, preferably when you launch Lightroom.

  • Restored files disappeared

    Hey,.

in a moment of spring cleaning, I accidentally deleted a folder that I would not have had. NP, I remembered creative Cloud archiving function that is then directed to the Web site. Successfully, I found my deleted files and click on the "restore" action After confirmation, the files disappear from the list of archive.

However, they never came back in my list of files either. They are now completely missing... Is no longer in archive, not in the files.

No idea where they went, and how can I get back them?

The file you mention is inside a folder in the Archive. You won't be able to see it until you do a restore. The Archive is 'flat', which means that you can not see the contents of the top-level folders until they are restored in the files section.

I you sent additional details, including a complete list of the contents of your Archive.

  • on my laptop running windows 7 more information disappeared from the window - topics (file, publishing, display, etc.), address bar and navigation buttons - everything I can see tabs - how do the lack of points to display

Missing on my laptop running windows 7, all the info displayed at the top of the home page. All headings, i. e. file, change the view etc. disappeared. There is no address bar. There is no "home button", the button refresh, etc.. My wife was using the machine when it happened, so I don't know what she was doing. How to restore these features?

most of the information has disappeared from the window - topics (file, publishing, display, etc.), address bar and navigation buttons

When all the toolbars are missing, you are probably in full screen view, press F11 to toggle mode full-screen, or you can move the cursor to the top of the screen.

The real problems you describe all set thanks to an extension and customization, see 01:10 steps later...

You can make Firefox 5.0 looks not like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered 1 to 10 points in the next topic difficulty Firefox 4.0 UI toolbar, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1 resemble 3.6). If you make changes, you must be aware of what has changed and what it takes to use changed or missing features.

It is much more beyond these first 10 steps in the list, if you want to make Firefox more functional.

Toolbars and their contents have been rearranged and buttons have been merged dual-use, the net result is that I could see about 25% of what I had before and recorded about 10% of the area of the toolbar with great loss of functionality to hide things that might already be hidden and to create confusing buttons that already have keyboard shortcuts and don't need to be seen. The only good thing that has been ' Ctrl + / ' has been added to hide/show the modules bar that has not replaced the status bar.
