  • you want to develop - where begin?

    Hi all!

I have some ideas in mind to develop applications for the Playbook and, if possible, to the next platform BB10 port in the future.

I am fairly new to this, but have they the basic knowledge in coding.

Where I would start with the update and what would be the best method of code for the Playbook and future BB10?

Are there specific SDK, other tools, simulators that I can use.

I've searched around, but the info I found seems rather convoluted.

    Thank you very much

Get back to the root of the site and download the tools: https://developer.blackberry.com/

Get a development kit software of your choice according to this style of programming you know.

    Follow the tutorials

For my part that the ease of jQuery Mobile, but I just write an application using bbui.js which is so simple.  It gives you BB style on almost all phones, the Playbook and coming BB10.  With minimal effort, I have converted an app playbook in a phone application.  It's really a coool UI.

    https://github.com/BlackBerry/bbUI.js

If you know web and HTML5 is as easy as designing a web page, the test in your browser and then compiling with webworks.  You can even take existing Web sites and convert them into apps, provided that there is no PHP or ASP dynamic stuff.

You do not have. This isn't a feature of iOS. The ability to "lock" a specific application must be built by the developer in this app.

Lock the phone and don't let people you don't approve of using it.

  • We have the latest iPhone to develop applications

I'm just request this because if I'm stuck on a 2 year contract, and I wanted an iPhone 7 when it came out, but I don't have enough money to pay the gap contract, should I the last phone to develop an application? If I don't have a phone or an iOS device, my application fails? I make apps like camera applications, even some social applications, and a lot of things, if I publish Hello World, will be rejected my application?

You don't really need to own an iOS device to develop applications.

XCode comes with a built in Microsoft device emulator to test your applications.

It is recommended that you test your applications on real devices, but is not a requirement for the creation of a.

  • Developed a playbook app need advice now on the targeting of future devices.

    Hello

I managed to develop a playbook using FB 4.7 and 4.6 Flex application (AIR 3.1). I use the latest version of the SDK which is 2.1.0. So my question is,

1-will my app do support version 2.1.0 + of the playbook? or lower versions too?

2 - this application even support other devices QNX? If so, what are these devices (I see 4-5 devices in the form of additional device) and how can I do same app also runs on these platforms.

3 - my app is an application of children where children will be able b create avatars, now the requirment of content generated by the user in the submission form has 4-5 questions and I don't know what to write here, please advice! as my application should not have any issue with "unethical content creation" because he welcome children, now I can't stop users to write something bad in hindi, validate the image...

As long as you don't use any what 2.1.0 - specific API, it should work on 2.0.0. If she does well in the Office AIR runtime, it almost certainly works on the camera too. Note that most of the PlayBook users quickly improve their OS. There are very few people running older versions. See http://news.ebscer.com/2013/04/playbook-users-still-on-newest-os/

You have to adapt your user interface, graphics, splash screens and icons to work on various resolutions and reports l / h. New appliances BB10 have 768 x 1280 and 720 x 720 pixels and a much higher density of pixel resolution. Buttons should be about twice the size (in pixels). Try to avoid the absolute positions coded hard & sizes and rely more on anchor and percentage sizes. More information can be found here.

To test, you can configure your AIR runtime desktop to emulate different resolutions, or use the simulators. Or better yet, try to get a real device.

The 'other' devices are the BlackBerry Z10, Q5, Q10 (consumer) and devices of Dev Alpha A/B/C (developer). The A10 of BlackBerry rumor may still have a different resolution.

  • Developing applications using Ubuntu Linux

Hi forum, thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I want to Blackberry develop applications... but I don't see a Java plug-in download compatible Ubuntu.

Any help on this would be useful.

    PS.

If your answers include anything that is associated with Microsoft, please don't answer.

I look for ways to develop Blackberry applications on the Linux platform. Thank you

If your responses include anything Microsoft related, please dont reply.

Simulators will not work on just * nix. You can try the wine, but your best bet is parallels or VMWare.

If you want to do everything and use only a device for the test, you still have a chance to be * nix only. I think he was talking about a plugin for linux, but I doubt he'll go anywhere if it isn't out yet. You can always use the BB Ant tools, make a maven plugin or build everything yourself via command line.

Basically, it is not supported, but it is also not impossible... just search around to pick up the pieces.

  • where to start with loging in an application

Hello. Creating a safe space for a BB app being created using SDK5. Very simple with just a user name and the password required. At the login screen and the other screen. Don't check as empty fields etc. But I don't know where to start with the actual coding. More precisely:

    1. where should I store the username and password - what is best practice? Is - XML, databases, persistent storage file?

    2. in what format should I keep it should for example the details be encrypted plain text etc?

3 - How can I verify that the information entered is asme as whats been stored?

4 - How can I signout so that details must be entered again again?

Any help / pointers / links to examples would be appreciated. See you soon

    Welcome on the support forums.

1 I store small amounts of data in the persistent store, it is the easiest way.

2 feel free to encrypt, but unless someone knows the key to your persistent store only you can read. If you use a custom object, another application will not be able to open it, but usually I decide by the desire to have data survive an update (custom objects are removed on uninstallation)

    3 is equal to

4 remove the persistent store, for example

  • What is the best platform to develop applications for BlackBerry 10?

    Hi all

I have developed applications for BlackBerry 6 and 7 for the last 3 years, but I am very new to BlackBerry 10. I know that most of the developer would like BB 10 is something new. I have about five years of experience in the JAVA platform, but unfortunately BB 10 is not supported it unless you develop applications for Android and the port at 10 BB.

When I checked the list of programs that are supported by BB 10, I saw C/Cpp, Cascades, HTML5 and action script among them. But which one to choose? There is where I am confused. I don't have any experience in the above mentioned technologies. If I select, I need to learn from the beginning. When I went through a few posts, I got to know many people prefer to develop in HTML5, as it is a cross-platform technology. But many have said that it may have problems of performance and the native technologies like C/Cpp, waterfalls will be the best options in terms of performance.

Can anyone suggest me the best technology to start with BB10?

Cascades is based on Qt, which is a cross-platform C++ library. It encapsulates many low level BB Native API - s for easier use, but you still have direct access to these APIs if necessary. C++ syntax is similar to Java, so it shouldn't be too difficult to pass. I suggest choosing stunts.

  • Where to start in Oracle Apps R12

    Hello
I am completely new in Oracle Apps. I have a lot of experience in Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, .net), but has never worked in Oracle Apps before. Now, try to learn it.
I installed Oracle Apps R12 on a virtual linux for learning machine. I selected 'database empty' at the time of installation (i.e. no Vision) and connected as a sysadmin. But now I don't know where to start. Let's say I want to use the financial data module to enter false data and then create a report. Where should I start? I searched in Google but as none of the "beginners" tutorial have this info.

Can someone help me or direct me to a tutorial/documentation that will help me get started?

    Thanks for your help.

The installation of any add-on EBS program requires functional knowledge. For example, if you want to start with Financials, you would usually begin with GL. The GL Implementation Guide has the necessary steps - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13620/toc.htm

If you do not have a working knowledge, it would be better to help you install the database example of Vision for you to learn your way through the EBS

  • Error "the application"Steam.app"is not open more."

I use Steam to play games, I recently installed Trove which began to hang Steam (and not run) rarely when I clicked on the play button.

Sometimes, when Steam closes (or hangs in my case), when I try to open it again, it gives me an error "the application"Steam.app"is not open more.". It can be fixed by restarting, but it's boring and useless. How can I fix it?

Restart the computer in safe mode. Some caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up as normal. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

If you use no FileVault 2 in OS X 10.7 ("Lion") or later version, you can restart as usual (not in safe mode) when the login screen appears. There is no need to log on in safe mode.

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan") or later version, or if you don't know if use you it, you as usual then connect in safe mode, and then restart (not in safe mode.)

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.9 ("Swat") or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you cannot start in safe mode. In this case, request further instructions.
