Files WPS openings on Windows 8
I have a new laptop from Toshiba with Windows 8.1. On my old laptop, I created using Microsoft Works files, and I would like to transfer those to the new computer. The only processing seems to be Word Pad, which cannot open files in a readable form. I'm ready to buy a word-processing program, but I want one that will open these WPS files. Does anyone know what type of program that can be? Thank you!

Any version of Windows already came with any word processor, except
for WordPad. If WordPad meets your needs very well, but it is very limited
compared to a real word processor. It's really more a glorified text
Editor to a word processor.
I'm ready to buy a word-processing program, but I want one that will open these WPS files. Does anyone know what type of program that can be? Thank you!
Microsoft Word will open the .wps files, and there are probably others
that will be too. I don't know about you, but my guess is that the two open
Office and free will.
Alternatively, if WordPad meets your needs, open files in works on
your old laptop and save as .rtf files. WordPad will be able to
Open them.

Some clarification would be useful.
What type of file you have?
What do you do with it?
The easiest way might use dropbox or onedrive. Or you want to change the file on the iPad?
MP3-files are also. And with iTunes you can copy those dear to your iPad too.

Select files to download/dialog window is not quality Retina on Mac Firefox 32
Firefox 32.0.2 Mac OS X 10.9.4.
For some reason, the files select to Upload/window opening many sites when you add a file to load on a page is not quality Retina on Firefox.
This selection file download dialogue is quality of retina on other browsers, like Chrome and Safari.
Any ideas...?
I discovered that this was resolved when I disable the Shockwave Flash plugin.
Then the title of the dialog box is actually "send file" instead of "Select files to download" and is full of retina quality.
But when I activate the Flash plugin, the dialog box goes back to "select files to download.
Not at all well sites. But, for example, he made on Imgur.
It doesn't work on Facebook.
I think it depends on if a site uses a Flash file dialog picker?
Not sure, but don't like!

What version of Windows you want to transfer is irrelevant. What
you need to do is just transfer to another computer. There are several approaches to do this. What is the best for you
based primarily on the amount of data you transfer. Here are a few
choice:1. transfer on diskettes.
2. transfer to CDR or DVD.
3. by email from the old machine, and read e-mail on the new
one.
4. the two computers on the network and simply copy the files on the
network.
5. temporarily (or permanently) install the old computer's hard
drive in the new computer and just copy the top.

Original title: files missing error
Whenever I start the system complains that the following files are missing, c:\\Windows\System32\igfxpers.exe, igftray.exe and hkcmd.exe. Everything started after I ran scan and scan deleted some files infected. However, I can use the system. Where and how to download the missing files? Or how the system does not deliver messages?
Simon
Two of the three files are probably part of the malware infection and not the files infected. The third is probably the same details in this link:
http://www.Runscanner.NET/file/Hkcmd.exe.htmlTo identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspxWith Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig. You will find the three points and they will have a description 'file is missing' against everyone. Your antivirus software has removed the files, but not the startup entries in the registry. All you need to do is delete the entry using Autoruns to eliminate the error messages.
Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

file missing or corrupt windows\system32\config\system
HELP - by on the title I did: -.
The full, first part, follow these steps:
- Insert the diskette of starting Windows XP in the floppy drive, or insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer.
Click to select all of the options required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted to do so. - When the "Welcome" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
- If you have a dual-boot or multiboot, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
- When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
- At the Recovery Console prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line:MD tmp
copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\windows\tmp\system.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\windows\tmp\software.bak
Copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\windows\tmp\sam.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\windows\tmp\security.bak
copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\windows\tmp\default.bakdelete c:\windows\system32\config\system

copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
Copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
Copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default - Type exit to quit the Recovery Console. Your computer will restart.
Note This procedure assumes that Windows XP is installed in the C:\Windows folder. Make sure that replace C:\Windows with the appropriate dossier_Windows if it is a different place.
If you have access to another computer, to save time, you can copy the text in step 5, and then create a text file called "Regcopy1.txt" (for example). To use this file, run the following command when you start in Recovery Console:
batch regcopy1.txtWith the command batch to the Recovery Console, you can process all the commands in a text file in the order. When you use thebatch command, you do not have to manually type as many commands.
Second part
To perform the procedure described in this section, you must be logged in as administrator or an administrative user (a user who has an account in the Administrators group). If you use Windows XP Home Edition, you can connect as an administrative user. If you sign in as an administrator, you must first start Windows XP Home Edition in safe mode. To start the computer in Windows XP Home Edition in safe mode, follow these steps.
Note Print these instructions before continuing. You cannot view these instructions after you restart the computer in Mode safe. If you use the NTFS file system, also print the instructions from article KB309531 of the Knowledge Base. Step 7 contains a reference to the article.
- Click Start , click shut down (or click turn off computer ), click restart , and then click OK (or click restart ).
- Press the F8 key.
On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when you see the boot menu.
- Use the arrow keys to select the appropriate safe mode option and press ENTER.
- If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, use the arrow keys to select the installation that you want to access, and then press ENTER.
In part two, you copy the registry of their location saved files by using the system restore. This folder is not available in the Recovery Console, and is usually not visible on the typical use. Before you begin this procedure, you must change several settings to make the folder visible:
- Start Windows Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click folder options .
- Click the view tab.
- Under hidden files and folders , select Show hidden folders and files , and then click to clear theHide protected (recommended) operating system files check box.
- When appears in the dialog box confirming that you want to display these files, click Yes .
- Double-click the drive where you installed Windows XP to display the list of folders. If it is important to click on the correct drive.
- Open the System Volume Information folder. This folder is not available and is dimmed because it is defined as a file hidden doubling.
Note This folder contains one or more _restore {GUID} folders such as "_restore {87BD3667-3246-476B-923F-F86E30B3E7F8}.
Note You may receive the following error message:
C:\System Volume Information is not accessible. Access is denied. If you receive this message, see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base for access to this folder and continue with the procedure:
309531 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531/) how to access the System Volume Information folder - Open a folder that was created not at the present time. You may need to clickDetails on the view menu to see when these folders were created. There may be one or more folders starting with "RPx under this folder. Here are the restore points.
- Open one of these folders to find a subfolder of the snapshot. The following path is an example of a folder path to the snapshot folder:C:\System Volume \RP1\Snapshot Information\_restore {D86480E3-73EF-47BC-A0EB-A81BE6EE3ED8}
- Starting from the Snapshot folder, copy the following files to the C:\Windows\Tmp folder:
- _REGISTRY_USER_. DEFAULT
- _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SECURITY
- _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SOFTWARE
- _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SYSTEM
- _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SAM
- Rename the files in the C:\Windows\Tmp folder as follows:
- Rename _REGISTRY_USER_. DEFAULT DEFAULT
- Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SECURITY to SECURITY
- Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SOFTWARE to SOFTWARE
- Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SYSTEM to SYSTEM
- Rename _REGISTRY_MACHINE_SAM to SAM
These files are the system restore registry files. Because you used the registry file that the Setup program created, this registry does not know that these restore points exist and are available. A new folder is created with a new GUID under System Volume Information and a restore point is created that includes a copy of the registry files that were copied during the first part. Therefore, it is important not to use the most recent folder, especially if the time stamp on the folder is the same at the moment.
The current configuration of the system is not aware of the previous restore points. You must have a previous copy of the registry to a previous restore point to make previous restore available again points.
The registry files that were copied to the Tmp folder in the C:\Windows folder are moved to ensure the files are available in the Recovery Console. You use these files to replace the registry files currently in the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder. By default, the Recovery Console has limited access to records and cannot copy the files in the File System Volume.
Note The procedure described in this section assume you are using your computer with the FAT32 file system. For more information on how to access the folder of information system with the NTFS file system Volume, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
309531 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531/) how to access the System Volume Information folderThird part
In part three, you delete the existing registry files, and then copy the system restore registry files to the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder:
- Start the Recovery Console.
- At the command prompt, type the following lines, pressing ENTER after you type each line:del c:\windows\system32\config\sam
del c:\windows\system32\config\security
del c:\windows\system32\config\software
del c:\windows\system32\config\default
del c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\tmp\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
copy c:\windows\tmp\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
copy c:\windows\tmp\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
Copy c:\windows\tmp\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
Copy c:\windows\tmp\default c:\windows\system32\config\default
Note Some of these command lines may be wrapped for readability.
- Insert the diskette of starting Windows XP in the floppy drive, or insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM drive and restart the computer.
- Type exit to quit the Recovery Console. Restart the computer.
- Click Start and then click all programs .
- Click on Accessories , then System Tools .
- Click System Restore , and then click restore to a previous RestorePoint .

' INVALID BOOT. Message from INI file when you start Windows XP
I get the error message "INVALID BOOT. INI file"when I start the computer, but then, it goes into XP. Could someone tell me please how to fix this? I don't have the Windows XP CD because my friends brother died and they gave me the computer, and it was already installed. I could get the CD if necessary, but I was wondering if there is a way to fix this without it? Thank you in advance for your help!
If you see a message like this:
Invalid BOOT. INI file
Booting from C:\windows\This usually means that the c:\boot.ini file is missing, but you can replace it.
Miss the file would require a little extra work, since it is normally a hidden system, read-only file, but I can think of many things that is happy to remove it for you.
If the system is working properly, what do you think happened to the system since the last time, he did not work properly?
You now, or have you had the "Ask Toolbar" installed on your system?
Do you now or nave already used third-party applications on your system where the product description includes descriptive as sentences:
cleaner, mechanic, detective, doctor, heal, optimize, clean up, tune up, speed up, set towards the top, compact, compress, faster, power, boost, boost, gum, muncher. guaranteed or all that has an icon that looks like a key, the key or the screwdriver?
In a facility only XP partition has not even need a c:\boot.ini file starts - he's going to complain, but this threshold always begin.
You must create a new file c:\boot.ini. It's just a text file, so you can use any text editor such as Notepad or WordPad to create a new file.
Here is an example of a simple c:\boot.ini file you can copy and paste the text to a new file. :
[boot loader]
Timeout = 5
default = multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS
[operating systems]
"multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional "/ noexecute = optin/fastdetectWhen you get this text into your text editor, do a save as, and save the file as:
c:\Boot.ini
Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.
Then restart your system.
If the file is missing once again, we need to understand why and fix it.

How can I remove "set up files" and completely reload windows xp? They were installed when I tried to reload xp before and there is always a sp1 on the pc version now.
This CD should work and it should be bootable. It seems that if you always boot from the hard drive and then you look at the content of the CD-ROM in Windows Explorer.
If the BIOS is set to boot from the CD, you should not get a menu asking which device to boot from. At most, you will get something like "Press any key to boot from the CD-ROM."
You have an another bootable CD that you know works or do you have another computer you can try this CD to see if it works correctly?

I am unable to open Windows Update Express option, when you click on Express, I get a message saying that "files required to use windows update are longer registered or installed on your computer." I tried both options following the message, with no luck at all. Belarc says that the 125 Microsoft updates are missing. I have Windows XP Home Edition sp2 disk. Suggestions, please.
If xp is always saved, then try to open the internet options settings,
view of objects, search for & R.click on the WU & MU active x objects
(one at a time), select "update", they are part of windows update
Active x, necessary for updates... Express update could be among them
Moreover, however it is not a part of windows...

Hi B_Tan,
Please take a look at the following information previously published by TaurArian:
Some have reported that simply re-register the MSXML3. DLL seems to fix the problem.
1. click on start.
2. choose Execute.
3. in the run box, type: regsvr32 MSXML3. DLL
Press OKIf this did not help, you may be re-recorded some files more:
1. click on start.
2. choose Execute.
3. in the run box, type (pressing well after each one): -.net stop wuauserv
Repeat the following:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll

But after I tried to void that lookt again to see if she had cancelled it.
But he remains unalterable reports!
I have lookt on Google and Bing, but could not find someone with the same problem!

If you have access to another computer, to save time, you can copy the text in step 2, and then create a text file named "Regcopy2.txt" (for example). To use this file, run the following command when you start in Recovery Console:
