• I built a new system. Transferred to the hard drive and video card, but everything else is new. Restart Windows as it begins to start. I can get into safe mode and found event id 7026 and event id 7001 in the event viewer.

  As mentioned above, this is a new system, but with a more older IDE hard drive with windows xp pack 2 service (I think). When you first start, it says that windows is not stopped correctly and asks me to choose whether to start it normally or without failure or last known working configuration. When I choose to start windows normally, it will load up to a point. The screen of Windows Xp will come with the slide bar. It will then restart. When I choose to start in safe mode, a bunch of 32 file system scrolls upwards on the screen. I don't remember if it of normal or not. He takes over in SafeMode but. I went to the event viewer and got the following errors.

  I did find something online that contains all the system boot or start specific drivers. Windows and harddrive was working in another computer just before he was switched. Let me know if you need other information.

  First of all you are missing probably a number of device drivers, particularly the network card driver and the driver of the motherboard.  Use your XP disk to perform a repair installation.  This should go a long way toward you're going to get.  If your new box has a driver disc that should help a lot.  You can't port XP perfectly the way you did.   It usually requires a repair installation to fix the hardware abstraction layer.   Thanks for your reply, but I think that I have fixed my problem.  When I built the system, I never could the 2nd strip of memory to work.  It would not just start my system at all.  I thought all along that I had a problem of memory based on my last sentence.  I finally went out and bought another brand memory and did not have a BSOD on the last 2 days.

They're all pretty a your subtle grey but that I do not see is on the page "about me". You just need to bring the gray tone to the top of a few stops.

• Q9550 system update or build new i7 950 system?

  Hoping someone can help with other upgrade or build the question!

  I'm new to NLE but am a fan of the suites Adobe CS and consider using the first CS5 and AE.  I am an amateur and not a pro but I take very seriously my hobbies :-).  I intend to create short films of my videos from DSLRs using AVCHD or m264.  I want my NLE system to work properly with multiple windows and open programs (e.g., PR, PS, etc.) and I'm quite impatient when it comes to waiting for process/load systems, etc..

  It should not be used for games of any kind.  It must run very solidly.  I have never experience BSOD and I want in the future!

  Here are the two options, I am considering:

  OPTION 1: Upgrade the existing machine

  CPU: Q9950 (existing)

  Mobo: socket 775 Asus Board (existing)

  Vid card: upgrade to GTX470 (starting from Radeon 4850)

  RAM: add 4MB for total of 8MB max for the Board of Directors (1600, 99924)

  OS: create new startup under Win7 64 disk (again... currently XP)

  HDD: boot SSD 128 GB (new)

  HARD drive: Caviar black media players, etc.  (existing)

  PSU: 620HX (existing)

  SECOND OPTION: Build the new box

  CPU: i7 950 (pretty good price now)

  Mobo: Asus P6X58D Prem

  Vid card: GTX470

  RAM: 12 MB (1600, 99924, Corsair)

  OS Win7 64

  Disk: boot 128 GB SSD

  HARD drive: Caviar black media players, etc.  (existing)

  POWER SUPPLY: 850HX

  Issues related to the:

  -Overall, is the additional cost of the second Option is worth it?  How much improvement I wait?

  -Is the useful GTX470 compared to my existing Radeon 4850 card?

  -Is the SSD as boot $ 265 drive?

  -Is the biggest power supply necessary?

  D ' other thoughts on a configuration?

  1 and 2: Yes.

  3: once again, it of very personal and depends to a large extent of time pressure work usually under. How much is a delay a real deadline? I can't answer that for you. If your last name was Gates and you have linked a way Bill (not the version Gehrke or hunting) I would say, get the best that he is ready to pounce for, but maybe it's not the case.

  Of course, you can get on your system with updates and many will have use these systems to the satisfaction and they realize also there are always more fast and more efficient systems autour, but that the devil. If your system is what you need to in your editing workflow, why spend more? The question, however, and it is only for answer you, what is sensible, wise investment?

  If you have a penalty clause in your video contracts, that says you must lower your final bill by 5% for each day you are late in delivery, there is no other choice, if your only concern is in a discussion with the Chief Financial Officer (your wife), the situation is different.
