    Nearly a week there is a window began to appear during the first load of my computer. It's a black rectangular window marked taskeng.exe, but there is nothing in it. Almost immediately after that, a prompt appears that says "Windows cannot find ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \Search Extensions\Client.exe".» Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. ' It opens at the beginning, until I typed or even clicked on anything yet.  When I click 'OK', it closes and my computer works normally, a little more slowly than usual. It does not appear to be a problem, but I don't know there could still be something wrong that I can't see or know something about.

    I watched taskeng.exe and I understand that it is a task manager, but that it could be related to malware or a virus when it ceases to appear. I did a full scan of the disk C with Malwarebytes and, thankfully, he said I have no malware to remove. I do not understand why he started coming. I did a system restore, but nothing has changed.

    Can someone help me understand what it is and how to stop it without risk to occur?

    What has happened is that your software antivirus or antimalware software correctly identified as a spam and removed program client.exe.  In this case, however, there often remains of the malware left behind this attempt to leave the now-missing executable malware.

    In your case, it seems that there is a scheduled task that tries to launch client.exe.

    • Click the start ORB, type the following command in the start search box and press enter
      Task Scheduler
    • When the Task Scheduler window opens, click on "Task Scheduler (local)" in the left pane
    • Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll down to "active tasks.
    • Use the inner scroll bar to scroll the active task list to find anyone trying to launch Client.exe.  Search for "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Search Extensions in the"Location"field

    • When you have found the ticket with Extensions of research in the location field, double click it.
    • In the right pane ("shares") find "Delete" at the bottom of the list and click on it.
    • Close Task Scheduler and restart
    • You should not get the popup more

    If this does not work, or if you do not find the right task to remove, download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx -->

    • Run Autoruns and once the analysis is complete, confirm that the "all" tab is selected (it will have to use it) then click file > find and search for client.exe
    • If a line with client.exe is found, make sure the 'Image path' set to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Search Extensions and then clear the check box at the left end of the line
    • Press F3 to search for other instances of the client.exe (I don't expect there to be no)
    • Autoruns to close and restart
    • You should not get the popup more

    If you've used autoruns, if you are convinced that the problem has been corrected and no problem has been introduced, you can run autoruns and this time 'remove' the line with client.exe inside.

    I suggest also using Windows Explorer to go to C:\Program Files (x 86) and verification of the contents of the file Extensions of research.  If it is empty, delete the entire folder.  If the files remain, are also likely to remnants of malware, but I won't tell you to delete them without knowing what they are.  If there are exe files, use your favorite search engine for names of files of research (or post the list here).

    First have you properly uninstalled this program? He was executed at startup of Windows an incorrect uninstall may cause this error may still be registered in MSConfig to start automatically with the computer.

    Did you go to the address specified in Program Files (86) \Search Extensions to see if the file is present or not?

    With a mark of exclamtion in the middle of a yellow triangle indicates that drivers must be updated.

    Right-click on the device with the triangle, select Properties, go to the Hardware tab, select the device with a triangle next to it, select Properties again and select Update driver.

    This should solve the problem, if Windows Update can't find a driver for you, you can always go to the manufacturers website and download it there, however, if the Windows Update does not find it there ' has a chance to the manufacturers Web site may not it as well, in this case, you can open Device Manager right-click the missing material or using outdated drivers, select Properties, go to the Details tab and in the hardware id select menu drop-down property search with id, you receive information about the device and so download the drivers the most up-to-date and appropriate from other reliable sources.

    Nothing seems to be a problem with the page. The specified region is extremely basic html with a compilation option that is excluded. Other regions with the same compilation option do not report these log files in the debug.

    It is indeed related to the build option and you can ignore the messages. I'll put their debug level 9 If you don't see them in the normal debug output.

    Before the page is rendered, APEX load relevant metadata in the wwv_flow package global variables. For example, fill us the tables g_items, the g_buttons and the g_plugs with the definitions of element, button and region, respectively. We do not charge the definitions of components that are excluded by a compilation option. After loading these data, we must build relationships between records, for example, we calculate index of the item in the g_plugs region and store it with the definition of the element. If the region is excluded by a compiler option, but the underlying element is not, the computation of the element cannot find the related region folder in g_plugs. You get messages from debugging for this kind of inconsistencies.

    Was working before, but have only allowed a number of updates to Windows that had been blocked for a while.

    For example. Type 'safe' in the search box. It finds files and directories with 'security' in the title, but not the files and directories that I can see are there with 'safe' in the title.

    When I search using the "safe * ' it seems to do exactly the same thing as"safe ".  It does not show only files beginning with 'safe'

    My suggestion was not ' safe * ' but ' name of the file: ~ safe * "(without the quotes).

    Last week, I noticed that all of a sudden I'm not able to find or find/replace in one the 'selection' or 'history', etc. The only option that appears in the search option is looking for 'Document '. I took the ths same problem with 'GREP' and 'Glyph' research last week, but today they seem to work (in the sense that I can search for "selections", etc.) but I'm still not able to search for a 'selection' when I'm trying to find/replace text. I use this feature a LOT, and have only begun to encounter this problem this week. Other than rsetting InDesign preferences, is there anything else I can do all of a sudden pain which is the cause?

    OK... I could no longer bear it and reset the preferences and everything works :) I would have just done that in the beginning :)

  • Find command not not highlighting every search results

    Acrobat 9 Pro, Mac OS 10.6.8

    This seems to be a fairly new problem.

    When I do a search - using the Find command - of a PDF document for a particular word, Acrobat in some cases place the cursor to the right of the word while in other cases, it highlights the word with a blue color. How can I get the program to find and color highlight all occurrences of the search term?

    This is a bug in the version 9.4.5. Should be fixed in the next update.

    You can roll back the update if it's a big problem for you.

  • Find and not highlighted in the search results

    I recently installed the update for 9.4.5. Now when I do a find or search, the results are not always be highlighted. It takes me to the page, but most of the time, found the text is not highlighted.

    I use a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8.

    No idea how I can get the highlighted to show again?

  • Unable to find files and folders using Windows Search

    Original title: Windows search returns no results, but only for a single user - another user works very well - Windows 7

    All of a sudden windows search of files and folders (from windows Explorer) do not return results - even if I'm looking for in a folder with a file name that I know is in there.  However, it works for the other user on this system.

    The things that I tried or looked at who did not work:

    • Configuration of the default folder options.
    • reconstruction of the index
    • sfc/scannow - said "windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them.  I have the CBS. If necessary log file.
    • research done that windows has been archived 'Tour of the windows features turn on or off.
    • Ran the registry of Windows Search - he said that he fixed two things (cannot tell you what they were now), but still, it does not solve the problem. When I run it says once again that there are no errors.
    • I checked this registry key:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced\\\ and key Start_SearchFiles - which was set to 2, the default
    • Under Customize Start Menu - search with public folders is selected under search for other files and libraries.

    It still does not work.  The search box in the start menu seems to work, but not for anything I get.
