Find him that new hardware wizard cannot find printer drivers

turn my PC on Windows XP Home Edition. I am trying to install a new printer Brother HL-5340 D. The installation disc runs correctly and copy the files on my PC. To start the "New hardware found" Wizard it can not find the driver even when I on original cd and desktop. I tried the auto option and the option "targeted" without success.

with the target, you give full path directly to the driver, or just the cd?

Also try to get the driver directly from brother: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/dlf/dlf/000000/003700/dlf003734.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hl5340d_all&type2=1&os=7&flang=4&dlid=dlf003734 here is the link for xp.

I installed a new master hard drive internal, that works fine and passes all diagnostic tests.  Whenever I have turn on or reboot the system, the found new hardware wizard laucnhes.  After going through the installation process, I get the message "cannot INSTALL THIS HARDWARE - the specified service does not exist as an installed service.»  I close the window and it goes away until the next time I turn on the computer.  There is a yellow dot with an exclamation point in it when I go to Device Manager.  How can I get rid of the yellow dot and! and stop the new Wizard of found material to start whenever I turn on the computer?  It is a hard drive master and theoretically should not require a device driver.

I think that I fixed it.

I tried to do a Windows repair, but after the reboot, a fatal error has occurred.  This could be because my disc to install Windows to the original address is SP (1) and my current system is MS (3).  I couldn't find a CD version of the installation for SP92) or (3).

I ran the installer for MS (1) (even though I lost all my programs and devices) and print the Info for the new disc access key hard (which is installed and detected the new hardware wizard caused no start).  Then I restored my system software mirroring.  I used regedit to change the key for quick access to the settings that I had printed.  I noticed that there is quick access keys (in the directories of the ENUM/IDE) always in the system from my old hard drive, so I have demolished their.

So far, the problem seems to have disappeared.  I hope this can help someone if the future who entcounters this problem.

  • found new hardware wizard appears and unknown device device Watch Manager

Since a few days ago, the Add New Hardware Wizard keeps popping up. I looked in Device Manager and found an unknown device (yellow exclamation mark) should I delete the device? I don't know what to do to identify which device is unknown.

If you remove it, then he'll probably be back the next time that you start.

go to start / all programs/windows update (at the top of the list of the menu), custom search, watch your optional hardware updates and search for a driver that you have not already installed, you can get lucky. Otherwise post the details of your specifications and ask again.

Furthermore, it can take a while to get the pages updated and you may need to install active x on the way, a line will appear at the bottom of the fixed part of your browser screen (the same as when you download) If this is the case, click on it and install active x, then a box should appear and tell you allow I think.

Whenever I try to connect an external hard drive into a USB port, Windows detected new hardware wizard will appear. He then not recognize the external drive at all. Port and USB cable work fine with other devices. Just this external hard drive has never worked on this PC.

  • Found New Hardware Wizard will not let me install things.

    Hello.
I have Windows XP and every time I try to plug something for the 1st time, such as a USB, a window that reads the found new hardware wizard appears. He asks me if windows update can search for new software. It gives me so "Yes, always", "Yes just for this" or "no, not this time". No matter that we I press, another window appears which says ' if it came with an installation cd put in now "then gives me the options either"install the software automatically or manually." When I press the other, she begins searching and, after a minute or two, a window appears saying that the software had failed the compatibility test, even when I got from devices that say they are compatible with windows xp. Then it gives me the option to stop or to continue. No matter what I press, the Hardware Wizard says there is an error and closes. Subsequently, it will not recognize the USB and I have to uninstall it.  This also occurs when you try to install things like itunes.
Someone help me please. I have not tried it on other computers because I have no one else at my disposal. I tried to contact the company USB but I was told that it's a computer, not a jumpdrive, question.

  • Problem of new hardware wizard.

On the insertion of a new device to the USB port, the pop-up wizard new material appears flashes quickly, trying to recognize the new device but progressing no further and is difficult to cancel.thus no new USB devices cannot be recognized. Old appliances are always recognized.

We will have to do it manually.  Insert the device.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  When, in Device Manager, click Actions, then on search for new material and see what happens.  It can recognize the isf made devicr thi way.  I don't know if the fevice needs of drivers, but have their practice to install if necessary.  Click on each "error" for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you can't - I don't know what type of device you're talking about or if the software driver or firmware is requies), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

We will solve the problem devices are not detected and installed once we solve problems with this unit (which is exactly it - device type, manufacturer, make and model.)

I hope this helps.  Poost back and let me know in any case and if solved we can work on the wider problem (and if not resolved we can see if there are other options to explore).

    Thank you and good lluck.

  • Found New Hardware Wizard initiate at startup with no new hardware installed

    Hi Xircal,

    Thanks for your interest.

The Malwarebytes we were a beta with a lot of precautions.

I ran the Sophos base scan on C:.
Nothing that you marked for deletion.
Just hundreds of hidden files, mostly in the Recovery Console XP (minint), the RRBackups, the preboot\helps, the two Norton .dat files: cltLMS1.dat & cltLMS2.dat

    Description: Unknown hidden file
Removable: Yes (but clean not recommended for this file)

Norton said: «these files are components licenses of Norton.» Legitimate files of Norton. (They are not paid for spelling)

I could run a scan in depth tonight if you think necessary.
I have a bunch of drives on this computer, but c is the one who starts.
In fact, I have a separate drive that I use to download software executables, drivers, etc..

    Peggy

    Hi Peggy,

Does not sound like there is nothing to worry about here.

The 'new hardware found' is still running at startup?

Also, could you possibly get in touch with Norton and ask them if ROOT\LEGACY_BEEP\XX_NPF_XX in Device Manager has nothing to do with the Norton Personal Firewall? It could be something as simple as that.

I think you're right. I don't see anything unusual but one long-standing issue date with Norton Security turned off randomly on startup (I does not start unless I'm free to control and turn it on if it is off)

I contacted Norton on that months ago and they were not able to solve it, but strongly advised I have remove a bunch of utility programs that they don't like. Split us up on this suggestion. I have uninstall Super Anti-Spyware, and you know the rest of this story. But I think Secunia PSI, Winpatrol, AutoCAD, etc. as essential to my well-being computer.

I think I'll let the dog Norton are.

The 'new hardware found' has NOT yet run at startup. Thank you very much.

Assume that you have done at least what I asked you to do. I'll miss our daily interactions, but you'd better take your white hat to someone who needs your expertise more than me.

    Peggy
