• The find command in the Edit menu does not work. No window in which enter the words I want to find opens.

• 10.11.5 OS finder opens, then disappears

  THW first time after a reboot, I click the Finder icon in the dock, a window swooshes out and then poofs away. The next time I click the icon, nothing happens at all. I can do a finder window by right clicking and selecting new Finder window for the menu. It's the only thing that works.

• Missing items in the menu go Finder

  Hi, having a problem with one of our macs, after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, it does not show library in the finder, open menu when you press and hold ALT option  When you create a new user profile to test the behavior even under this profile, the problem does not occur.  I don't know if it is a preferences file that could be the cause, hoping that someone else who maybe has a good idea of what could be the cause?  We tried to remove the com.apple.finder.plist files and restart just to see if it fixes, but have so far not been successful to actually solve the issue.  Thank you!  David

  Try this:

  1. In the OS X Finder, pull down the Go menu and choose homepage
  2. Pull down the view menu, and then choose Show Options
  3. At the bottom of the list of Display Options settings, check the box to display the library folder

  Now, you won't have to do the round of ALT go.

• Columns in the Finder window

  I'm trying to set a width of columns more wide in my Finder, but when I close and reopen the window, Finder opens to the default column width.

  As far as I know, which cannot be done. I saw someone post a way to maintain the desired column width.

  Send feedback to Apple. They will not respond, but at least will know that there is a problem or a suggestion for improvement. If enough people send feedback, it can get change / suggested the problem solved as soon as possible.

I have 4 options under the tool button; mail and newsgroups, address book, account settings and options. No where in these 4 find 'open module. I downloaded an add-on of highlighter recommended for Mozilla's Thunderbird, (highlighter by André Rodier 0.6.5) but I can't understand not just how to get it in Thunderbird! Thanks for your help.

  Never mind. I discovered that 'Open with' is an extension I have installed 1-2 months due to a problem of Adobe PDF with firefox. Firefox includes more hyperlinks when generating a PDF file, in order to work around this problem, I installed this extension that allows me to launch Safari on the Web page. I can generate a good PDF from Safari.

  I'm just surprised that a legitimate extension developer would pop up a message bar asking for a gift like that.

  Go to your 'Go' menu Finder, hold the option key and choose the library. Then go to the preferences and trash folder these files:
