Firefox 13.0.1 breaks option + click to download the shortcut on the snow leopard.

I've recently updated to ff 13.0.1 on both my cell mbp and mini mac, both running snow leopard 10.6.8 and option + click shortcut keyboard/mouse is longer functioning. The option key is def. operation, because it works for other purposes (non-firefox). This happens also in safe mode of ff, is probably not a problem with a plug-in.

Hey dsmbgu8, this feature has been disabled by default in firefox 13 - view back to the, enter Subject: config in the address bar, search for the preference named browser.altClickSave and toggle true by double-clicking it.

  • Can get "option + click to download" once again please!

I used to be able to hold down the 'option' by clicking on a link with the mouse (for example, a link to an image or a file) and it would download. Now I have to click the right button and select "save under", which, if I have a bunch of links to download, takes much more time. Can we get the much simpler, easier and faster "option + click to download" come back please? It's not as if this key combination has been replaced by something, now he has simply nothing.

Hello oldified, please try this: enter Subject: config in the bar firefox address (confirm the message information where it appears) & search for the preference named browser.altClickSave. Double-click it and change its value to true.

  • I try to connect to Facebook or Youtube and Firefox crashes. I can't click anything in the window because it is simply a hung noise. What should I do?

    Hello

Please open Firefox in Mode safe and test to see if the problem persists.

See here: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode

If the problem does not occur in Mode without failure, then there are chances that an Addon or parameter is causing the problem. Follow the instructions in the support above article to identify the add-on causing the problem and then disable or remove.

If the problem persists even opening in safe mode, then I suggest to do a Reset of Firefox. Once again this is possible now shift while you open Firefox (select "Reset" from the options this time).

A reset will return to its default settings of Firefox. Your history and bookmarks will be saved, but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

    I hope this helps.

  • Why don't the option + click on download a linked file more?

Until I have Firefox itself yesterday, hold down the Option key while clicking on a link downloaded the linked file, as if I right click (or Ctrl + click on) improved, choose 'Download Link', and then shot back, but with much less effort.

Now, nothing happens when I do that. I tried on several different sites, with a couple of different file types.

All of the plugins below have been installed, though not all in their updates until the problem occurred.

  • Out of the blue, Firefox keeps forgetting my settings Options, and I see the home page every time. Profile Manager IS used.

For the last three days, Firefox opens as if for the first time - forget all setting Options I record every time. It is a waste of my time and money. It worked properly for years.

  • I can't ' print using firefox. Preview print does not appear, is not the print dialog box, printing doesn't appear, etc.

Looks like that since I've updated for firefox 5, I cannot print web pages, won't work not preview before printing. I click on the print under file option and nothing displays or prints.

Try Firefox SafeMode and see if you can print from Firefox.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    1. You can open the Firefox 4, 5, 6, 7 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    2. Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • Firefox Android on Nexus 7 (2012) does not erase the history/private data on exit even if I put it to do.

I checked the updates for the version of Android, Firefox and I have the latest version. I changed the settings to erase privacy on Quit but it does not work, history still shows when I reopen it Firefox. Any suggestions?

Found the problem. Previous Android version of Firefox did not have an option "Quit" to close the browser. I had an add-on called "quit now" installed. Latest Android now seems to have its own Quit option that appears now. I uninstalled the add-on "Quit Now" and when I close Firefox with its button leave the history is cleared. Others having the same problem should check their modules under tools to see if they have the add-on "Quit Now". I caught only solutions having seen 2 different options of Quit.

    Original title: window 10

    Hello

I have Windows 7 and am unable to upgrade to window 10.  I have a Pavilion dm4 laptop with 4 GB RAM and 359 GB available hard drive.  When I clicked on 'Download now', 'save' and 'run' on consistent pop ups nothing happen, although there was a security warning, but I was able to download programs, I tried with this warning without fail.  Can anyone help?  Thank you very much!

    Review:

    Retry the upgrade manually:

    Option 1:

    Download the media creation tool

Click with the right button on the MediaCreationTool.exe file and then click on run as administrator.

Note: How to check if you are downloaded or installed the update Windows 10 November

How to create an ISO or USB drive.

Select upgrade this PC now and then click Next

    Option 2:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • I do not have a button of the Firebox above the window of firefox. have tried to reset as do not have the toolbars. I have a right-click in the toolbar area-no options?

Tried to add a menu toolbar or a toolbar of bookmarks. No options appear only when I click right in the toolbar area - or not to hide the toolbars. It was suggested to reset firefox by lowering a window by clicking the firefox button in the upper left corner. I don't have such a button. I'm frustrated and going around in circles. Your video on toolbars does not run. Pretend he does, but does nothing. I'm a Firefox user for years without any problem. Browser Firefox has diverted and unable to solve the problem because access is really a challenge. Avast suggested browser cleaning & even though it disappeared temporarily he returned. So I uninstalled Firefox and spent my allegiance to Google Crome. Favorite browser Firefox, however then reinstalled - and here I am. At the present time - not a satisfied customer! I'm running firefox on a Windows 7 operating system. I would try reinstalling but have already imported by bookmarks in Crome - this could be a part of the problem? Shouldn't be, I think. Thanks for any help.

You were probably in mode full screen, if you had the ability to hide the toolbars in the context menu.

You should also have seen the choice of exit full screen in this context menu.

As reported above, pressing the key F11 will also toggle / disable mode full screen.

  • In the dialog downloads of Firefox, is the option 'Remove list' means the selected download will be deleted? (I want to delete it.)

I use Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3, on a Dell_GX620. I went to the Addictedtoradio.com site I used on my Samsung phone yesterday for the first time. I was able to play the music of the 80s on the phone without special adaptations to the phone. I tried to do the same thing on my computer at home. I went to the website but when I tried to access the music, he led me to download a file, Xvidinstall.exe, and I did. He is described as 382 KB - totalvidplayer.com. I use AVG anti-virus free edition which is supposed to protect my computer when web browsing. However, once I had downloaded the file, I got the message from standard Windows it is an executable file that may contain viruses that could harm my computer. At this point, I started to wish that I don't him had not downloaded, I don't want to take the risk. I'm going to do my music another way. I did not open the download but I guess it's now on my computer and I want to get rid of it, without opening it. When I right click on this file (in the list of downloads of Firefox), one of the options is 'remove list '. There is no option 'remove '. If I remove it from the list, is it deleted? Or it will always be on my computer but just not shown in the list? I would like to remove it from my computer because it can contain viruses. How can I be sure to remove it safely?

    It could be 3 things.

    1. you have disabled the Suggestions show inside the Google search bar.

    To activate the Suggestions show:

Click once inside the search bar, then click inside the bar.

At the bottom of the context menu, choose Show the Suggestions

    2. If you are connected to your Google account, you can set the option to turn off AutoComplete in the Google search parameters.

  • Firefox open multiple tabs when I click on an email address.

This is the second time that I checked all this information, I hope it works this time.

A while back, I changed to Firefox's mailto in Options > Applications > mailto
After that, when I would click on an e-mail address, Firefox might open new tabs VERY quickly and would not stop until I used the Task Manager to close Firefox.
I then went back and changed mailto to always ask.
But the same thing always happens when I click on an e-mail address, Firefox opens tabs very quickly until I close with the Manager tasks.
I checked the settings in subject: config "Network.protocol - handler.external.mailto" and it is Boolean, default true.
I don't want a default email program to put, I always ask. Please help with this.
    Thank you.
