Firefox 14.0.1 and 0.7.9 Session Manager.

Started having this problem with FF13.
My standard session has 3 tabs (Group 1 and 2 webmail). Launch of FF14.0.1 the 3 tabs display but only 1 actually charges. I have to click on the other 2 to load individually. Of course, once loaded, they remain loaded and updated the session.
In FF12 launch would show 3 legs and all at the same time ready to load.
Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing or an incompatibility with the Session Manager?
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

It is a 'new' which appreciated by some people (like me, because I have perhaps more than 200 tabs open) and some people do not have (if they had that a few open). It allows FF load faster. If you want to change it in the menu bar, go to tools | Options, then click on tab, and uncheck article that says 'do not load the tabs until you choose.

  • I have Firefox 38.2.0 and it tells me that it is the most recent version but online there is version 40 + and it won't let me install it.

My OS is Windows 10. I have Firefox 38.2.0 and it tells me that it is the most recent version. However, I got emails telling me to upgrade to the latest version which seems to be in the 40s. When I go to the https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ website, it tells me
"Looks like you are using an older version of Firefox."

So I click on upgrade and it loads a file "stub". I close in Firefox, go to the folder where the file is located and run it. At the end of the process, he told me that Firefox still works and I have to close it for the new version to load. Then I go to the Task Manager, and he told me that no request to don't run! I went through this process three times without any positive result.

    What to do?

I'll answer your question, but I suggest not changing your version of Firefox until find us out if having to do any with your plant, discussed here: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1078897

At some point, there are two different versions of Firefox:

    • Public release of the standard/large: currently Firefox 40.0.2
    • Extended support release (ESR): currently Firefox 38.2.0

The version of ESR is intended for companies who need maximum stability for their users. New features usually are not added for at least six months, although security patches are issued approximately every six weeks.

You want to switch to the standard version? If so, this is how I suggest to do:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 40.0.2 of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) to rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\FxESR

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\FxESR

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \FxESR\Plugins
    • \FxESR\browser\plugins

After the closure of the tabs, CPU utilization pulls up to this core... I say for this kernel, because the limit of mozilla firefox for one heart, which wouldn't be so bad, except EVERYTHING ON THE SYSTEM HANGS waiting for THAT ONE CORE to CATCH THE FUCK UP!

Add on top of that firefox looking more and more like the chrome... I mean.. Firefox is essentially like having the version slow, delayed, shit smell of chrome...

If the next version of Firefox is nothing else than to fix the many problems causing slow performance and high CPU usage, I'll be moving to chrome and leave Firefox and Mozilla to continue its business of a slow and painful death walk down.

@the-edmeister thanks for the typical canned answer, I am pleased to see that copy - paste works always.

Canned responses do not work, because the situation is based on a new installation of the operating system and a new installation of firefox.
All the drivers on the system is new and up-to-date.

I ALWAYS run through the basic troubleshooting list. If I had found a solution for poor performance and hogging CPU memory/crappy, I him have not posted here.

    @jscher2000
Thanks for the link, but I had already tried it, work with no joy.

As for the rest of the answer, I have a few comments and questions:

Statement: "Mozilla's mission is to drive the web forward, which is to introduce new technologies constantly in Firefox."

Comment: Change the GUI to work and look like Chrome is not new and innovative. It is simply duplicating someone else's ideas.

Statement: "at the same time, developers constantly working to improve the efficiency of memory."

Comment: since when? Over the years, whenever FF has "updated" the memory usage has increased. On rare occasions, it has also introduced memory leaks, or attempted to hide or split to its own use of memory in the secondary threads... plugin-container for a good idea, is an example that has been poorly implemented.

Statement: "because the browser code is open source, others have used it to create products that look more like older versions of Firefox, or gathered for 64-bit systems, etc..". You can check those and decide if they are more productive for you than the official version. »

Question: Where might these alternatives. Simply Googling turns a myriad of other browsers, Chrome for most of the results. Versions of firefox based very little I could find are the pale Moon and waterfox.
Others are based on the FF are for most * nix flavors or specialized for users of niche such as cat and iceweasle for gnu and debian ice respectively, and wyzo based on niche media downloads.

I understand that Firefox is open source, and if I had the time team, Fund and development to devote to creating a browser standard, basic, no frills, using their source, I would have already.

My problem is not with Firefox itself, but the struggle continues Mozilla comply Firefox for chrome UI, while gradually adding bloat, instability and some "features" unnecessary which are not needed or requested by users.

I get that Mozilla tries to innovate. But adding bloat and tracking features of data or features that cannot be used unless the tracking data is enabled is a huge slap in the face of almost all those who have started using firefox because it objected to these measures implemented in other browsers at the time.

The entire reason why firefox became so popular was because it worked, was quick and did not use all of the system cpu and ram. Why? because at that time, it had all the bells, whistles, gadgets, door knockers, the banana seat, ape-hanger handlebars and a chrome-plated stand... Remove all trash, and the browser would be more likely to cut its use of CPU and memory in two, if not more.

And Yes... This has turned into a feedback session.
No, I didn't intend to let him be.
No, I will not create a survey of 'feedback '... I've done done several times over the years, and as is typical of mozilla, they simply ignore it and do the opposite.

  • Can I save Firefox on a drive and install on another tour of Windows 7?

I can't go online with IE8 on the other computer windows 7 because that is blocked to all pages, but the activation of Comcast page navigation, and everything has been activated. I want to save Firefox on a drive and install it on that screwed up and then disable access to IE8. How do I do that?

I tried to disable the firewall and change the security settings on Windows 7 system, but nothing works. It won't let me change the homepage, search or go to the Firefox download page, all navigation is blocked, citing invalid certificates. I tried to get around this, but it does not work.

This tower has Windows 8.1 on it and connects to the Internet with Firefox, though, and I can't find how to navigate because it rejects files that would work on the other because of the automatic detection of settings.
    Thank you

You can (although I would like to use a USB stick rather than burn them on a disc).

    • Navigate to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ and save the copy of Firefox that applies to you.
    • Move it to a USB
    • Take this to your computer and install it
    • If you are having problems with the activation of Comcast page, please call.
  • Firefox has becomes slow and unresponsive after that I tried to install the addons (not installed)?

I recently format my computer and reinstall windows 7, since it was the only way I know of to solve the problem with Firefox (I already had this problem too). I download the latest version of firefox 33.0.2 and install it. This version was super fast. But becomes slow and unresponsive when I tried to install the Add-ons. I visited the official site of firefox and searching for addons, when I tried to install addons, Firefox crashed. Therefore, it has becomes quite slow and cannot restore previous sessions. Even to type my email address, it takes more than 5 minutes and reacts more frequently (after typing each letter).
I want to know if this is due to some viruses, or this version of firefox is not "stable".

    Hey there,

We are sorry to hear that Firefox crashes. To better help you, please follow the steps below to provide us with crash IDs to help us learn more about your accident.

    1. Enter Subject: hangs in the Firefox address bar and press ENTER. A list of submitted Crash reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
    2. Copy the 5 most recent report ID begins with bp - and then back to your forum question but that stick in the box of "Post a response. (Please do not take a screenshot of your plant, just copy and paste the ID image below is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like)

Once you have done so, you could try the Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    I hope this helps!

  • My PC is running processes that are labeled as firefox, but I uninstalled and will find no more files named firefox, but pc cleaners say it is running

I tried to clean my laptop and keep noticing the process named firefox and tracks slowed down... that surprises me, because I don't have firefox on this laptop, I maybe once, but no more, I checked the list of uninstaller in the Control Panel, is not here, I searched on the c: drive of files named mozilla or firefox and deleted I can't find more and yet it is always in my process list and also seems to be a memory hog. I use toolwiz as my PC cleaner, he sees things in firefox and tons of data from when do privacy cleaning, yet it gives me the message "cant fix firefox works"... whenever I came across a file, I think that can be connected, it is to me that firefox is running shit and it won't let me delete some things that I think can be the question...

On the process tab of the task to the top manager in the menu bar, click View > select columns and add "Image path name. This will show where the firefox.exe process is launched on the hard drive, and I hope that will point to a specific program. If the location is suspicious (for example, the Temp folder) I would suspect malware. Note: you may need to use the button at the bottom of the tab "show processes from all users".

  • Two BIG problems: Firefox clears the tabs and will not save preferences

    Long story:
I'm on a 2009 15 "Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo with OS X 10.6.8. A few weeks ago I started suddenly problems with some features in Gmail... but only in Firefox. Specifically, I was no longer able to preview attachments in the new Gmail attachment viewer. After a long back-and-forth on the Gmail forum with no results, I turned to Firefox. After having poking around in Firefox Help, I decided to reset Firefox. This solved the problem with Gmail, but in turn created two new more serious problems with Firefox: (1) I can't save my history settings in the privacy of the preferences tab (I want to use the custom settings; whenever I have this option in the menu drop down and close prefs., as soon as I open Pref once again, the history of setting is default return "remember history"; (2) even more serious and obviously related: whenever I quit Firefox, all my tabs and groups of tabs went to the re-opening. I can restore the previous session, but this obviously isn't the solution.

I basically tried everything suggested in the articles referred to in the help of Firefox, reset Firefox again, trashing the prefs.js file in my profile folder (I have no other pref files - that is to say without "prefs - n.js or 'prefs.js.moztmp' or 'Invalidprefs.js'... I don't see not a user.js file in my profile folder either). I even used the disk utility to repair permissions on my Mac HD... for all that is worth it.

I'm so sick of everything that I am seriously considering ditching Firefox altogether. There, can someone help me understand what is happening?

    Accidemic13

Choose "Use the custom settings for history" allows you to see current history and cookies settings, but select this is not make changes to the parameters of the history and cookies.

Firefox displays "Use the custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one story and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made.

If all the parameters of the history and cookies are by default, the custom settings are hidden and see you "conservation rules: (never) don't forget history."

But I think this could do the trick. When I run iobit uninstaller and verified recently installed programs that I found: Lollipop. I searched on the internet and it is a program that generates ads: http://www.lollipop-network.com/.

Then I uninstalled it. Pretty simple if you know where to look. I don't know even how it got installed in the first place.

    Anyway, problem solved.
