Firefox 33.1 forgotten by site save files

Since a recent update (I believe to be 33.1), Firefox don't remember more where I had saved from the pages or images by site and instead watch the last save location set.

Discovered that browser.download.lastDir.savePerSite has become sort of a string instead of a Boolean value. Juggling it in prefs.js did the trick.

  • When I select "keep without history", firefox will restart but does not save it.

I use the french version so maybe that some translations are not correct. what I'm trying to do is to forefow delete or simply not save history after that I go to a page. It is said that firefow must restart to save the change, I agree, and when it restarts, nothing is recorded. I also tried to say not "restart" with no effect different however it should work, but as explained, this isn't. I can also change the page that opens when I run firefox for the same reasons: I save 'open a blank page', say ok, the option page closes, but when nothing opened changed again.

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

  • Problem with the difficulty of opening the old tabs settings and save files when a new session is opened

    Hello
Since 2 weeks I have a problem: I always set my settings to restore the previous session with all my tabs and I choose that Firefox asks me where I want to save my downloaded files. Now, every time I close Firefox and I open it again, it is not taken into account and 3 tabs are opened: Firefox, Google, and thanks to install Zotero! I spare it, but every time it opens these tabs and not man. Ditto for saving the files. It goes back automatically to open the start page and save my file in the downloads. Even if I spare, it's the same.
I've desinstalled CCleaner (I thought it might be that), but nothing changes!
Help, please. Thank you very much!
    Martha

    Here's what I'll try:

    • Reset Firefox - that should solve the problem, but it will change the settings like where files are downloaded and what tabs open at startup back to their default values.
    • Then change your download and back session restore preferences to how you like them.

    Here's how:

    1. Go to help > troubleshooting information.
    2. Click on the button 'Reset Firefox'.
    3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is finished, it will display a window with the imported information. Click Finish.
    4. Firefox opens with all the default settings applied.
    5. Open the window of options - tools > Options > general
    6. In the general Panel set Firefox to open your tabs from last time and set Firefox to ask you where to save downloads.
    7. Click OK

That should do it. Let me know if it worked.

    Thank you

I select save files, but when I close the browser and open it again, he was always ask me where to save files. Whenever I closed and re-opened my browser it goes back to ask me where to save files.
    Help, please

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

If you like Advanced SystemCare software that could restore some files from older versions to protect files against the changes and then check their settings or uninstall this software.

    Hello

In the "Downloads" one window entry right click and choose 'open containing folder '. This will open the folder where the downloaded file is stored and you can copy it to the desired location / device.

Choose "Tools" > "Options" > "Général" you shows the path to the folder where Firefox is save the downloads, but does not open the folder itself. You can see the downloads folder path near the entrance "save files to" around the middle of the window. If the full path is not visible, click "Browse". Here you can also change the location where Firefox is save downloads. For example you can replace your removable storage if the unit is installed and always available.
