Firefox 8 tab and activity indicator

After fighting it for many months now, I had to finally update my Firefox after that my icons were themselves (never updated because I was used to the one I already had) reset. Now the problem is I want to move the tab icon and the icon of the indicator to the location where they used to be in older Firefox I had. I want to move the new tab icon behind the first tab add at the end of the last tab and I want to move the slider to the second search bar to the far right of the menu bar (the same corner of the menu bar on the top of the Google search bar). I am not currently able to mover or the other of them in those places so I want to know if there is something like an add-on that allows me to do that. Thank you.

What happens if you drag this button tab at the right end of the toolbar tab next to the tabs button list everything and close the Customize?

Then it must align with the default next to the last label position you like.
There are two new buttons on the tab.

Just beside the last tab and the new button tab toolbar which can be placed in other positions you have now.

If this does not happen then to see:

One possible reason is that if it was added as a second 'Home tab' in which case it will be displayed in each new window (Ctrl + n) and every time that you click the Home button.

To verify that you can use the page Options, as described in this article: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

Look for a vertical bar character at the heart of the area that separates the two addresses. A simple example with short URLS:

    https://www.mozilla.org/|about:customizing

The bar certainly can be hard to spot with long URLs, but when you find it, delete everything to the right of the bar, then the bar itself (I suggest to remove the last bar so things don't accidentally get it together).

I have attached a screenshot showing how to select restore automatic session just above the setting of the Home Page where it says "When Firefox starts".

With this set, you can restart Firefox manually out using the menu-

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

    -and then restart Firefox.

  • Research Protect deleted all my tabs and groups of Firefox

I had about 200 tabs grouped together in about 30 groups of 31.0 Firefox (latest version). The Group appeared when I clicked on the icon to the left of the button "minimize" or press CTRL + SHIFT + E. It is called "your Firefox tabs - group". I also use Xmarks, but I have disabled Synchronization tab recently.

Generally all the tabs and their groups have been saved when I closed Firefox. Today I opened Firefox and all tabs and groups disappeared! Instead, it opens some search engine called Trovi (www.trovi.com) with "bing results. Its the same in Chrome, Opera and IE.

My OS is Windows 8.1 update 1 with all updates installed. My antivirus is Avast! with all updates installed. There was some malware installed of course, but I'm not awake me. I ran a 'full system test' in Avast! latest updates, which is the deeper analysis that I know (without my laptop HP ProBook 4730 s restaring). No viruses were found.

I'm suspecting a program called 'Research Protect' version 2.16.10.61 'Client Connect Ltd. It was installed with PowerISO 6.0 x 64.

I tried to run the system restore, but it seems that all the restore points I ever created are now deleted! I discovered this by opening the system properties-> system-> system restore Protection. However, 'Protection' is 'On' for my system disk.

How can I restore my tabs and groups? It is extremely important for me.

Accidentally, I posted my question twice - my apologies. I marked this as resolved and will continue to ask for help on the other.

  • Firefox isn't me WARNING when closing multiple tabs and it should be, and the ability to save tabs missing

    Hi all

Not sure if it's something with Firefox 30, but this problem appears again.

In fact, first when I was close the browser with multiple tabs open, it warned me with the little popup, but it wasn't the "do you want Firefox to save your tabs for the next time it starts? It was just the warning of closure which said "you are about x tabs. Are you sure that you want to continue? »

So, who was recently #1 problem. I want the option to save and exit. But only in the last few days, it seems, is not even show this close attention now. With several tabs open, it closes just to the bottom of the browser. When opening Firefox again, tabs have been restored, at least it's a good thing, although weird.

I wonder how come back asking to "Save and exit" or "Quit" or "Cancel" as before.

In response to some requests for information as possible, here is some information that you may be asking, which I already checked:
-as appropriate on: configuration settings are all set to true already, such as browser.tabs.warnOnClose and browser.showQuitWarning
-in tools > Options, "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is checked, and "show my windows and tabs from last time" is selected for the start of Firefox. Nothing has changed!
-safe mode does not solve the problem; Firefox closes always just if I quit or press the red X.
-"Always use the private browsing mode" is unchecked.
-I didn't run a program like CCleaner between sessions

I have not changed anything, but this problem happening! I hope someone can help me to solve this problem and go back to the way it was, where accidentally close Firefox could be avoided and restore the previous session was possible.

    Thank you!

Well well, with more tests and the help of my boyfriend, what I've learned, it's that tabs "Save and exit" dialogue prevails over the caveat to the closure of several tabs.

With browser.showQuitWarning set to true, it will ask me to save and exit - but not if "show my windows and tabs from last time" is selected to start Firefox, who dismisses the prompt to save and leave (and close several tabs warning). It will save just for you to quit smoking.
And had I disabled this browser.showQuitWarning manually or by selecting "do not ask next time" on the Sava and dialogue to quit smoking, then the warning for closing multiple tabs seems to try to close multiple tabs, since I warn the option in my settings of the tabs.

It is one or the other, save and exit or warning to the closure of several tabs.
It would be nice but if it was not a conflict between the fence several warning tabs and Firefox abandoning dialogue.

So, I hope this can help someone else who may be confused or accidentally to change options and potentially be screwed on. After all, I can an injury self-inflicted in the settings.

  • Why Firefox will allow me to have several tabs, but not allow me to switch between tabs and can only watch a new tab when closing the previous?

Everytime I open a new tab, it appears on the tab bar where it should, but if I click on it nothing happens, the tab does not open, and I can't switch between multiple tabs. The only way to get a new tab is to close one on that I am currently, and even then it will only open the next tab in the order of precedence, so I can't even choose which tab is next to see. This problem makes it impossible to use firefox as a research tool that requires quick change back and forth between pages in multiple tabs at the same time.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
