Firefox cannot load some things
Live.com is not opening/loading and can not see youtube comments while everything works with Chrome. I clear my Cache and Cookies but still the same...
This problem just started recently, perhaps after the update for Firefox 37?
On live.com, what is the problem you see? For example:
- period of waiting or server not found
- white page
- partial load scrambled
- secure certificate error
In the case where one of your extensions is concerned, could test the page Firefox Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works
After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).
Any difference?

One possible cause is security software (firewall, antivirus) that prevents or limits Firefox or plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.
Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and leave your firewall again ask permission to get full unlimited access to the internet for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

Firefox cannot load Netflix or Netflix in charge very slowly
Whenever I'm trying to use Firefox to stream Netflix, it is usually stuck on the loading screen (the one with a red circle with the percentage complete in the middle) and it takes 10 minutes to load completely. It works on Google Chrome, but I won't use it because FF is the best browser for me. I disabled hardware acceleration.
Have you tried to start Firefox in Mode safe to see if Netflix loaded correctly?
- Hold the SHIFT key while double clicking on the shortcut icon on the desktop of Firefox (Firefox must be closed)

When you click on the link below, firefox will move the site but a notification that it cannot check the secure connection to the user. Technical details the certificate is not valid (no other useful information here) and the button "get out me of here ' reveals a screen where there is a message saying the certificate is valid and is not necessary to add an exception. All buttons are greyed out and thus preventing access to the site. No overrule or any other method works, so we (= society) are forced to use another browser to access our suppliers e-learning environment. I tried to change the two flags in topic: config, but apparently those who are depricated because they affect behavior. (browser.ssl.override_behavior and browser.xul.errorpages.expert_bad_cert) - edit: apparently the link falls. Here is the link: https://wbt.progress.com/
There is an intermediate certificate missing (GlobalSign organization Validation CA) who is not sent by this server.
If Firefox has not saved it to move to another site in the past, then you will get the error unreliable.

I use fedora 18 x 64 in which 21 firefox is installed. I followed the instructions to install a flash player plugin.
1. download adobe install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tgz
2 unzip it and get libflashplayer.so.
3. copy libflashplayer.so in usr
After these steps, I still not find flash in "tool/Addons.
I also tried to copy libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins, still useless.
Most of my addons of firefox is installed in the directory "~ /.mozilla/firefox/shtlbi8m.default".I have downloaded fireforx 25.01 (the original firefox is not uninstalled), this problem still exists.
You have a 32-bit version or 64-bit Firefox?
When you have a 32-bit version of Firefox then you need 32-bit versions of plugins and place ina place where Firefox can be found.

Frozen on Amazon, Firefox cannot load anything else much Favorites work.
Recently, the combustion chamber (my default browser) is frozen on Amazon.com. I can't download any sites newI. However, my favorites work when I click them. I tried Firefox to quit, have disabled my Imac and have tried to erase line several times. AppleCare could not help showing my computer corrupted and is not without danger.
You can try the basic steps like these in case of problems with web pages:
Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
- Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
- Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies from Web sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.
'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:
- Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Firefox cannot load Web .xml page, but IE it loads OK
When I try to access this Web site in Internet Explorer, it works fine, but in Firefox, I get the following error message:
In the unlikely event that you are reading this instead of see the structures of files, as expected, it means that your browser does not display the images correctly. Your browser must support frames for this working paper. It must also support XML and XSLT, as well as Javascript and CSS. »The site is: http://www.mcscustomerclub.com/xml/schema324.xml and contains a dictionary of data in the file.
The Web site is a resource protected by password, accept my user name and password but then gives the error message above. In IE, it displays the dictionary right after I entered my user name and password.
I have:
(1) cleared my cache and restarted Firefox
(2) Javascript installed
(3) in all: config, browser.frames.enabled is set to 'true '.
(4) deleted all add-ons, restarted Firefox and tried again from the site but did not workI tried in Firefox on my work and my PC at home (version 20.0.1 on both machines), and it does not work on each machine. On IE it properly displays the dictionary.
Nobody knows what is / could be the problem and how can I fix?
Thanks again for your response.
I found a solution so I can use the file in Firefox. I simply saved in Internet Explore to my documents in HTML format and set a link to the local file as a bookmark. Is not ideal because it means that I'll have to check updates and download them on an occasional basis, but at least it works!
Kind regards
