Firefox crashes when I close a PDF file that had opened a website to my request.
Windows 64-bit Vista OS. Everything works fine until I close a site open PDF file. Then, Firefox hangs and must be closed and the Firefox process must be completed with the Windows Task Manager. Then only Firefox reloads.
In case you don't know not, yours is not the current version. Try Firefox
in safe mode. Let us know how you do.
======================
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
- Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
- Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.
Thank you.

How to access the tab 'Save all' when I close several jpeg files that have been adjusted with the "color adjust tool? He is currently making me close and save one at a time. I've just upgraded to El Capitan. Thanks for any help :)
I assume that you use the application overview.
I can't find an answer to back up everything, but a workaround could be while the file menu options are visible, press the option key
and the point of the window will become close, if you click on that dialogue will ask you if you want to restore the changes or save
pressing Save will close the image with the changes and then move to the next image and so on.

It gets very frustrating, I have been using FF for several years now and wouldn't have to find another browser. Any suggestions please.

A user has posted that he was able to disable the Norton Toolbar extension in the Add-ons Manager leaving completely the Firefox instead of use the restart button (if you see the Mozilla Crash Reporter, click "Quit Firefox") and then start fresh Firefox. Another user who simply disable Norton Safe Search posted has solved the problem. I do not use Norton products, but I found some information here). 6 inDesign crashes when you export a PDF file
I get the same report of crash for days, every time I try to export a PDF in InDesign CS6. I don't know what is happening with this particular file, but can I export other files without problem. I have deleted all links .indd and .ai and does not use the new fonts that won't export in other files. I tried to export single pages and the whole document, in different resolutions, and it crashes every time. I stuck my last report of accident here: INDESIGN 6 CRASH REPORT - Pastebin.com
Export the file to IDML and open that.
Note also that you must patch InDesign (help > updates) and CS6 is not taken in charge at 10.11.

I don't know how long it was, but I decided that I didn't want to use the pdf viewer by default in Firefox at the time, and because things have been very slow in the browser, I disabled the default viewer and set options to ensure that all PDF files that are open outside of the browser and directly in Adobe. I have no memory of what I've done to get there in time.
Now for c. 42.0 (and 41.0.2, front) when I go to Options > Applications and select one of the "Adobe Acrobat Document" s, my only options are always "ask," "Save the file", or «Use other...» "and there is certainly no option of Firefox Viewer in 'another use. »
With Adobe Reader latest terms and the fact that they can now push updates when they want, I just * never * use again.
How to bring back the integrated pdf viewer? I realize there are other pdf viewers and I'm picking through those, but I would still have a browser too.
Oh, hang on, I missed something. When you go into Options > Application, the content type that you want to change is Portable Document Format (PDF) , which is the standard type application/pdf. (The others being obscure guys like Marlon who are not your problem). Does it work?

Is it possible to get the object of doc JS of a PDF document that is opened in a web browser?
As I mentioned in a previous post on the Scripting Forum (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/427791), methods that previously worked in Acrobat 8 to get the object of doc JS of a PDF document that is opened in a web browser - for example App.activeDocs . using the JS object and AcroApp.GetAVDoc (index). GetPDDoc using OLE automation - no longer works in Acrobat 9. Therefore, in Acrobat 9, it is impossible to access a PDF file that is opened in a browser or in its annotations (except, of course, the PDF is downloaded to the computer and open through the NTFS, which kind of defeated the purpose).
What is someone is aware can explain how to get the object of doc JS of a PDF document that is opened in a web browser? If the plugin exposes a DDE interface - of course. But this assumes that he is there--it is not automatic. You will need to write your own plugin or get an update if necessary.
And thanks for the info: I'm passing along!

Firefox crashes when you use pdf to adobe reader retriving files
For instance when I tried to get a PDF from the IRS web site with adobe reader firefox crashes, it also does the same on other sites on pdf files that would be the problem and how could I solve this problem.
Hi roy6640,
Have you looked at the articles of the basis of knowledge of troubleshooting issues with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems or use the Adobe Reader to view or download PDF files plugin? There is some good information in there. You can try to reinstall the plugin as well to update or if it has expired.
Hope this helps!

Firefox crashes when opening PDF files. fix as soon as possible
So as to access the PDF links Firefox and system both crashes many times and Firefox is not able to display PDF files. Please check why Firefox cannot display a PDF file
What version of the plugin are you using for a PDF file? For example, this is what I see:
Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > Plugins category
Adobe Acrobat 10.1.4.38
If the problem occurs on some sites including, could you provide a URL or describe any reason than those which may differ for other PDF files?
If the issue occurs for all the PDF files, you could test these sites in Mode safe? It's a standard diagnosis in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings).
First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).
Then restart Firefox in Mode safe (questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode) of Firefox help
Help > restart with disabled modules
In the dialog box, click "start mode safe."
If a PDF file is operating normally, it points to one of your extensions or custom as the problem settings.
Any difference?

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit PC
PDF files on my desk I have already registered. When I open the PDF file, firefox considers justified to open a new tab, even if I do not have the browser open. It's boring because after I close the PDF file I then have to close the browser window new tab as well. It costs me a lot of time to productivity as I opened a large number of PDF of the work. The PDF file to view the Adobe logo on the file on the desktop. Once I installed firefox displayed the logo of firefox?
I've already put in PDF to open it with Adobe by default via Menu-Options-Applications
Please try:
Right-click on your .pdf file to open the context menu, select "Open with", then "choose program by default... "In the window"Open with"choose your favorite pdf-viewer and define the box always check"use the selected program to open this type of file. Then click on the OK button. Is this solve your problem?

Firefox crashes when I try to download a file
Hello!
I run Firefox Nightly 8.0a1 (2011-07-08) on Arch Linux 64-bit with Gnome 3, and I have a problem with crashes when I try to download files. This does not happen in the stable version of Firefox (5) I also installed on my computer.
It is possible to open the Download Manager as long as there is no entries in the download list. But if I start a download of something - Download Manager opens with an entry (the current download) and Firefox disappears. Instantly, she disappears from the screen and the list of processes.
I tried to delete the downloads.sqlite my profile folder, but it did not help.
I also tried to rename my folder of profile all about something else and then created an empty folder of the profile with the name, was the first. When I started Firefox, then it recreates all the default content in the profile folder, so I found myself with a clean install, not amended. But it always crashed when I tried to download files. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with extensions or similar.
Suggestions?

When I open a PDF file on my IMac, dozens of Firefox windows open very quickly in succession. The only way to stop it is Force Quit Firefox. I use Firefox as my default browser because of this problem. Apple support team had me uninstall and reinstall Firefox and Adobe, nothing helps. Thanks for your help.
This has happened
A few times a week
== Not certain.
Make sure that Firefox is not selected to manage PDF files: Firefox > Preferences > Applications
