• 18 Firefox does not update the 2013.2.3.1 norton toolbar. is it possible to do it manually?

  I have the latest versions of Firefox and Norton Internet Security, have restarted several times and no still no toolbar Norton. The Add-ons screen does not list the 2013.2.3.1 version, only the previous version that is disabled. Is there a way to force this update?

  Hi iamjayakumars - I was not able to create a new profile, because the Profile Manager does not open. A message from Norton seems "Updater.exe is sure.", but nothing else would happen.
  But - the links you sent were very helpful, and I was able to solve the problem by making a UN-installing and then re - install Firefox:
  1. backup of the profile.
  2. download the installer of Firefox from Mozilla.org with another browser.
  3. un-install Firefox from the control panel (ensuring "Delete my personal Firefox and customizations data" was NOT selected.)
  4 reinstall Firefox.
  Firefox starts successfully with all my old settings and all the tabs I had open the last time it was used appeared as I had hoped.

  Have you tried you look for firefox.exe in the Task Manager process tab (you can get to that by using Ctrl-Alt-Delete, usually)? If you click firefox.exe in the list and then click on end process, it should close Firefox, even if Firefox does not seem to be running (sometimes the process takes a little longer to close the main window). If all else fails, maybe a reboot?
