Firefox hangs at random, even with all extensions disabled and new profile, but not in safe mode

From about 2 weeks ago, Firefox has been crashing. Accidents is seemingly random, but normally occurs when several pages/tabs are opened. In addition, all observed accidents occurred in the middle of some operations of the user. If I leave it just opened (and responsible), he would never crash even after a long period.

Also, accidents happen even once all extensions are disabled manually. However, it seems not to happen in Mode without failure.

After each accident, in the crash report dialog box, the 'Détails' report would not respond. However I can open reports using the command about: crashes.

Before the accident would happen, sometimes evil-following behaviors may be observed:

  • Firefox fails to render characters CJK, their view as a rather square boxes
  • Ideogram IME(Namely Google Pinyin, an IME for Simplified Chinese) is no longer can be enabled in Firefox, on a Web page element, or on the UI of Firefox itself (i.e. the address bar or the search bar)

The following has been tried but no luck:

  • Disable all extensions manually
  • Start a new profile
  • Reset Firefox
  • Uninstall/reinstall Firefox
  • Beta version of FX, 14 to 15, and then to 16

Hello Rainarrow, other users who have recently updated the graphics driver for their ati hardware (for the version of catalyst ati 12.8) reported similar accidents. Please try disabling hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General & see if that solves the problem of frequent accidents at the moment.

In the last two days that my browser started to "shake", a problem I had some time ago but has managed to get rid of the advice following I found somewhere on the internet (but stupidly made a point of). I have disabled all add-ons and plug-ins, but that has not solved the problem. The only bar showing menu is the navigation bar.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it started shaking at the time I downloaded inadvertently Hola. I removed the two programs Hola installed and followed the instructions to remove the Firefox search.

Any help would be appreciated as the jumping from top and down is more annoying.

  • MS Server 2008 R2 on Optiplex 7040 (USB 3.0 ONLY) can make it work, even with all the dism and patch stuff...

Trying to install Win Server 2008 R2 on an Optiplex witch is so all USB 3.0 by using the legacy startup it will launch the installer and does NOT freeze to the main screen.  But when it comes to screen readers it says it needs a driver, but nothing does not recognize because he needs a driver to recognize the HD and needs a driver to recognize that anything that is connected to the USB 3.0 ports.

I spent 2 solid days watching and trying different things, including the patcher software dell (who uses powershell).  It works very well.  Broadcasts usb 3.0 drivers in the build of the server, but when I boot it ti freezes at the home page because he removed the pilots using the mouse and keyboard.

Is there anything else I can try to get this to work?  I use the wrong driver?  I tried the drivers that came with the driver update utility.  I tried the drivers from the website of intel.  Cause the main screen to be locked up with no mouse/keyboard.

I tried inserting manual usb 3.0 (same result).

Another way I can get it work?

I can use 2012 R2 server (who has 3.0 drivers and hard disk drivers and see the HARD disc immediately, but I prefer to use the Server 2008)

    Thank you

    I've found a workaround. (mine)...

If I install the 2012R2 server, it gives me a platform of USB 3.0.  from 2012, I installed 2008R2, and it worked.

I had to use 2012 once more in repair/back window because I forgot to shoot all the drivers in 2008.

I did once I was able to delete windows.old and now I have a fully functional 2008R2 on an Optiplex 7040.

Of course, has been easier than all this stuff of dism.

  • How delete a wrong password that Firefox always displays; I tried to delete the cookies and the profile, but it does not help.

Firefox allows the filling of forms (for example webmail inlog) but it also shows a bad login (consisting of the login name and password). I want to delete inlog false names to Firefox. I already tried to delete all cookies from this site and deleted the default profile for my Mac applications folder. But still login to webmail options are given. Where can I find the place where are stored the inlog suggestions?

You cannot delete an entry in the dropdown menu with the mouse.

You can do this only with the keyboard.

You can delete passwords in the password manager

  • Firefox crashes at startup and invites me to enter in safe mode. I then uninstalled (version 19.0) and now Safemode itself will not open.

Before you try to uninstall the version 19.0 and reinstall, Safemode was functional and usable. After you have reinstalled the version Firefox 19.0 will hang when starting upward, as it did before and asks me to open in safe mode. Safe mode then crash/no open and service of bug report will open. By clicking on "Restart" just open another windows service on top of a bug report. By clicking on the 'X' or 'Quit' is not, allowing me to leave the service window. Inability of Firefox to use correctly began shortly after the latest version of windows (installed during the next stop/restart) update at 01:00 on (I think) February 27 or 28. I have not tried to install an older version. I tried to launch the Beta 20.0 version, but I met the same exact problems. This is the only error code available to me, despite the sending of at least 5 or more. 'bp-b4a3d0ce-8747-46a9-9c04-efc892130302 '.

This error code "bp-f6520eaa-36e4-4098-a2a0-c61c32130302" replaced the previous after I tested the beta of 20.0.

    Hope that helps.

Hello, this accident is related to your graphics hardware & a recent windows update. Please start firefox in safe mode (by pressing the shift key, while it launches) & go firefox > options > advanced > general & disable hardware acceleration.

  • Firefox crashes in typing or by clicking check box or the radio button, even with all the plugins / extensions removed. Check with many types of malware scanners.

Firefox crashes in typing or by clicking check box or the radio button, even with all the plugins / extensions disabled, then deleted. Sometimes it hangs for five minutes. I checked the PC with several types of scanners of evil-ware, but none to be found. All hidden and deleted cookies, all DELETED & extension plugins. Remove all instances of Firefox PC and registry, then restored to bookmarks. The only thing that I did not is to remove and reinstall not my favorites.

  • Typing becomes very slow in Firefox 3.6.11 in Mode safe mode with all extensions and plugins disabled.

When I first start Firefox, all right. And everything is fine as long as I type in the text boxes on any web page. I can type in the address bar or search throughout the day with no problems.

But, for example, just by typing in the edit box to ask this question on this site will result in the problem after I typed more say 150 characters. After this strike ANYWHERE in Firefox will be very slow, even the address bar or the search bar. It doesn't seem to matter what site use to type in the text. Cause the problem to occur after typing in enough strikes.

Navigation & mouse clicking remains fast - it is only typing seems to be affected. In order to recover, I have to restart Firefox.

If I look at the use of the UC Firefox.exe in Process Explorer, I see that once the problem occurs, the CPU usage starts whenever I type a key fortification. Indeed Firefox maxes one of my two hearts so the cpu is at 50%! He goes down to 0% again once I stop typing.

As mentioned in the subject, it is in Mode safe mode with all extensions & plugins disabled. I'm running on Windows XP SP3 with an old AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 3800 + (1.81 Ghz) with 2.00 GB of RAM.

I think it started to happen with Firefox 3.6 significantly (it's amazing how much time I can navigate without having to type), but it sometimes occurred with previous versions. Now he is annoyingly repeatable.

I have to use '-no - Pei ForTyping distance "to start a separate session of Firefox that I use just to type in the text boxes, so I can restart at will. I also compose messages in an external editor and simply paste in Firefox to avoid typing as much as possible.

This may be a problem with session restore. Firefox stores session data every 10 seconds to make it possible to restore a session crashed.

It may be a problem with the sessionstore.js file in the profile folder

Delete the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and all files files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js.

    Hi team,

We have EX and DX series telepresence as endpoints agent. But DX series phones are facing issue "the device associated with this extension or the dial number is not valid" when checking in the agent. EX works very well. Both phones are properly recorded in CUCM.

Can you please help me out here to solve the problem.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sisi.

In my case, we tried to do a few different modifications here and there on the DX650 but never managed to do work.  Randomly, I was able to connect to the fineness with the DX650 as my camera, then my colleague could not connect to the Finesse with his 9971 as his camera - (keep in mind this was in an environment of model and it was just her and me as agents).  Since I saw this strange behavior and doesn't do not sense, we rebooted the server CCX. Once she is back to the top, we were also well able to connect successfully and had not had the problem since.

    Thank you

KB2887069 Windows update fails to install, even with the audio drivers and uninstalled AV.

Background: I am setting up a pavilion of 500-164 equipped with OEM specs, specifically:

    -AMD/Radeon APU

-See sysinfo below for more details

The PC brought to the specifications of the plant, with all Windows updates applied with the exception of KB2887069, which breaks down at the update.  With the exception of troubleshooting the failure of the update, none of the changes have been made.  The Windows KB2887069 update fails to install as well through the automated process when tried manually via a direct download.

Additional troubleshooting measures to date include:

-Uninstall the software OEM AV (Norton), then by restarting.

-Temporarily disable all the features of Windows Defender.

-Temporarily uninstall the audio driver (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC) OEM.

-Realization of an analysis of the SFC system (with no error found).

I find it peculiar that you just bought a HP computer brand new, still-in-the-box, which came with Windows 8, not 8.1, preinstalled Windows. That said, cross your fingers, roll up your sleeves and try the fix following multiple step, I cooked up just for your computer...

    ACTIONS

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline.  IMPORTANT => NO SKIP & perform all steps in one uninterrupted session!  [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

1 right-click on the link, select SAVE TARGET as.... & download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above and select run as administrator to run the Norton utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. right-click on the following link and save the download to your desktop: ie8 - rereg.all.zip [1]

4B. right click on the file that you saved in # 4 has & select EXTRACT ALL. This will create a new folder in Office also appointed ie8 - rereg.all. The folder contains both scripts below (plus a third that will NOT be).

    Note-online scripts are good for IE9, IE10 & IE11, too,

    5. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the task bar), open the folder created in step # 4 b above & double-click on the file named ie8 - rereg.32on64.cmd to run the script.

5 b. Repeat this for the file named ie8 - rereg.64on64.cmd then restart.

    6. reset Internet Explorer by the MANUAL of instructions on this page-online http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note => for best results, check the option Remove personal settings .

7 run the Windows Update Troubleshooter from start to finish by the first paragraph on this page-online http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates [2]

    8. restart once more then test by launching a manual check of updates & see if KB2887069 any/all others updated and allows to install now. Follow all the instructions.

    9. assuming all went well, see if Windows 8.1 is available through the store Windows and, if so, if it will be properly installed. Still, follow all the instructions.

  • What's new in Win8.1?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/whats-new
  • 10. assuming that Win8.1 is now installed, perform another manual check for updates & install all Security updates offered (if any); Follow all the instructions.

    11. in response to this post with a status report. Also confirm (hopefully) that Windows 8.1 has been installed successfully.

  • How can I stop FF from previous session restore, I've played with all the options I can find, but nothing can stop it unless I have clear history every time.

Recently, FF started to open my tabs when I start a new session. I already checked to make sure that none of the parameters are enabled, such as the options-> general: housing starts of FF when "SHOW MY HOMEPAGE" is selected. But for some reason, it opens my last session. The only way I could so he could stop to do this is to have it delete my browsing history after that I closed the session. I don't want since I often use my story to re - find the information I need to research class. I made sure all my settings are the same since before FF has begun to do that. He has only started to do after the computer was turned off for a long weekend.

I already looked in the help pages for Mozilla and all I can find is the restoration of the previous or similar session. I can't restore my previous session, I want to stop the restoration of my previous session without having to delete my browsing history each time.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try resetting Firefox:

  • problems after upgrading firefox. reset this is ugly. created the new profile, but can not recover data from old profile.

I use firefox on a MacBook pro. Mac OS X version 10.7.5. There was an update of firefox on a day or 2 ago. Since this was done, I was getting 'syntax error' 5 times, each time that a page has been loaded. Some research has suggested that an application or a plug-in called "social fixer" might be the problem but I could not understand how to get rid of it so decided to try to reset Firefox. Minutes passed and a message was on the screen saying the old files of firefox have been been "cleaned" or something, but it seems to be 'stuck' because the progress bar was little jerky. Doesn't it usually doesn't. So I clicked on "Cancel". After that, I couldn't even firefox to start. Looks like my profile is unavailable or inaccessible. Following the instructions found on the support site, I created a new profile and I thought I copied the files from the previous firefox on the new profile, but when I run firefox, it's a blank slate. None of my bookmarks or passwords are there. It must be here somewhere, but I can't seem to understand.

Looks like there was a problem with updating the profiles.ini file.

You can try to remove the current profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile where Firefox has not done that.
You can check if there is a profile folder with a number of attached time stamp and in this case, you can set the location of a profile created in this folder.

If you need to recover data from an older profile, always in the default location, or as a folder of old data of Firefox on the desktop then see:

  • Firefox freezes constantly after about 5 min (not in safe mode)

Basic information: using Firefox 14, worked very well until I came back from vacation, have pulled up to my PC and updated 3 things, Adobe Flash, Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit) and AMD Catalyst control center with the new 12.8 update, then rebooted.

Slowly try to pinpoint the cause. Flash is not installed, firefox still crashes. Tried to move the Mozilla folder on the desktop, so I could simulate a reset, firefox crashed in all cases, so I put the old folder.

Read a few pages of troubleshooting on the firefox page and went down the list by ensuring that everything has been updated and then tried to start in safe mode. So far, no accident and we'll 15 minutes here, the best I've seen so far.

Note: Just realized my version of Java was obsolete, uninstall older versions and installed the new version. Let's see if that helps.

Note 2: Nope, Firefox is always crashing on a regular basis. Java was not the issue. Do not think, but was hoping...

Try the suggestions in this response:

Alternatively, you can try to start the computer in safe mode Windows with network support (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if it works.
